[00:00:00] Speaker A: I'll recanvas the most recent murder scene in case the cops miss something. [00:00:04] Speaker B: Want company? [00:00:06] Speaker A: Yeah, another pair of eyes. Couldn't hurt. Good evening and welcome to the Malbolge. This is regarding Spawn, the world's best Spawn podcast. I am your co host, John Fisher. [00:00:52] Speaker B: And I am your co host, David Williams. And Johnny. I mean, it's very exciting to be here and to talk about some spots on. And there's the, the. The temperature. The temperature is too few numbers. We need to, we need to boost those numbers up next quarter the boys down. [00:01:10] Speaker A: It's cold here too. [00:01:12] Speaker B: It's so cold. It's. It's cold. The. It's the cold weather that lets you learn where all the drafts in your house are. So that way you can mark them down for future summer projects. Yeah, yeah, very exciting. But. Oh, speaking of, I just got my seeds started from my peppers. [00:01:33] Speaker A: Oh, nice. Where do you have the peppers? [00:01:35] Speaker B: I actually got the peppers from a friend at work who like, she just goes crazy. I was, I was like, can I have a couple? And she gave me 15 different types of. [00:01:44] Speaker A: Where do you grow them? Inside or outside? [00:01:46] Speaker B: Well, I sprout them inside and then they go outside to when it's. When it's. [00:01:51] Speaker A: When do they go outside? [00:01:53] Speaker B: It has to be demonstrably not cold for like a week before they can go outside. So they'll go out probably late April, early May. The citizens. Probably just some salsa. Or just me some salsa from Chicago. [00:02:13] Speaker A: I mean, I could be offended. Look at those commercials. New York City. What do they know about toss salsa? I had some good salsas in Chicago. I lived there 15 years. I had some good salsas there. [00:02:26] Speaker B: I'll have to find some, some nice, nice ship safe mason jars. So that way you don't just get a box full of goo wet this. [00:02:37] Speaker A: Red, they like call the postal inspector on it because it's just like covered in red. It's a head. It's a head from seven. [00:02:47] Speaker B: There's just, it's just a wet box. Nobody, nobody, nobody wants a wet box in the mail. [00:02:53] Speaker A: No, they don't. No one does. [00:02:56] Speaker B: No. No. I mean, if I show up and there's a wet box on my porch, I'm like, ah, geez. Ah, no. Ah, that ain't, that ain't coming in here. Thank you very much. Actually, I used to. Before it was available on Amazon, I always had my mom ship us up some head country so that way we could have some good fucking barbecue sauce. It's not good barbecue sauce here. And one time One of the bottles had just exploded over everything, and it was just trying to rinse off the. The sticky barbecue sauce and the little bitty glass shards. It sucked. They have switched sit. And they have since switched to plastic bottles, which is better for the ocean. Hey, fuck those dolphins, dude. [00:03:45] Speaker A: I watch the most this. A plastic bottle now will always remind me I watched the most unhinged movie. I was hanging out at Megan's. I was flipping through the Samsung TV like, movie channels. [00:03:56] Speaker B: Okay. [00:03:56] Speaker A: And there's a romance. There's one called Mr. Positively. Like, spelled like paw, like a dog paw. Mr. Positively Perfect. It was one of those, like, Hallmark romance movies. And I totally get it. I get it why people watch them. It was so funny and so bad. But it was like a great B movie in the ways. Like, because horror is very, like, good now. All the horror movies come out are, like, fucking good. [00:04:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:04:17] Speaker A: But, like, they're like true B movies. And, like, I was having a hoot and holler watching Mr. Positively Perfect, a romance comedy from, like, 2002 or 3. [00:04:27] Speaker B: Nice. [00:04:29] Speaker A: It was about an influencer. [00:04:31] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:32] Speaker A: It was. I can't even go into it. [00:04:33] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Moved to a small town. An influencer who broke up with another influencer. Moved to a small town and met a girl who was a designer but also worked at a coffee shop that she maybe owned. It was unclear, but she also adopted out dogs. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:46] Speaker A: Everyone had, like, five jobs. Oh, my God. This should possibly be perfect. I got to watch the rest of it. [00:04:53] Speaker B: Okay, so you're saying that's a call to action. [00:04:55] Speaker A: I love watch positive. [00:05:00] Speaker B: That's awesome. I mean, there's nothing like. There's nothing like a cheesy movie. Come on. Come on. We like. We like to have a good time. What are those? Nothing. But. [00:05:07] Speaker A: Oh, Bran who, you know, mentioned it, I think. I don't think they're secretive about this. Who works with, you know, Talia Hall? Just last week, they did a metal band playing in front of Return of the Living Dead and then army of Darkness. [00:05:25] Speaker B: Oh, that's. I think. I think I saw an advertisement for that. [00:05:29] Speaker A: Pretty cool. [00:05:29] Speaker B: That's awesome. That's awesome. Did they. Did they, like, try to recreate the scores or was it just. [00:05:35] Speaker A: I don't know. I didn't look into it. They probably told me and I forgot. If Brand's listening. Sorry. I forgot. [00:05:42] Speaker B: It was probably a lot like eating at Kumas, where there's just a movie playing and music and they don't match up in any way, shape, or form. [00:05:49] Speaker A: Or maybe they do. [00:05:51] Speaker B: Interesting. I mean, they do use a lot of, like, metal quotes or little horror movie quotes and metal songs. [00:05:59] Speaker A: Yeah. Do you ever do Dark side of the Rainbow? [00:06:03] Speaker B: My sister had a friend who gave her, like, a. A burnt DVD that already had them synced up. And yeah, it works until. Until halfway through the movie when the album finishes. And then they're just like, oh. Oh, yeah, it works. Close enough. It's not perfect. I think. I think the. Trying to do the synchronizing yourself is probably more fun than watching somebody having already edited it together. [00:06:31] Speaker A: I watched it at my friend Josh Spear's house. He had a sleepover. I think he was in 10th grade maybe so. I mean, he was in 11th. [00:06:39] Speaker B: Okay. [00:06:39] Speaker A: And everyone else. I was too scared. Everyone else went on his roof and smoked weed. And I just stayed inside and, like, stood guard in case his parents came in. Because he had, like, this, like, loft broom. And they came back in and we watched that. And I loved it. Not being high. I wish I was hot. [00:06:59] Speaker B: Pretty interesting. Yeah. [00:07:00] Speaker A: The first time you smoke weed, it didn't really do anything. [00:07:03] Speaker B: Like, the first four times for me. It didn't do anything really. [00:07:05] Speaker A: It was like, two times. [00:07:08] Speaker B: Yeah. It took me a little bit, but. Oh, boy. I remember. I remember when it took for the first time. Yeah, it was super fun. We were in a car. We had to drive on the highway outside of Stillwater for a little bit. And then a friend just made an illegal U turn to get back. To get back to the dorms. We gotta do it, gotta do it, gotta do it. It was very exciting times. Very exciting times. [00:07:37] Speaker A: What else is really exciting? As we mentioned it before recorded, we couldn't even contain it for the long. We've already had pre Spawn talk. We. We have got two fantastic issues of Spawn for you today. [00:07:50] Speaker B: Yeah. Absolutely incredible. Like, it isn't even funny. [00:07:55] Speaker A: They're both amazing. [00:07:56] Speaker B: They were so good. Like, we probably should have broken them up instead of talking about it both on the same day. But how are we to know? [00:08:04] Speaker A: How? We don't know. We're just going into a blind. [00:08:07] Speaker B: But what. So. So why. What are these good books that we're reading, Johnny? And why are we reading them? [00:08:13] Speaker A: We are reading two issues of Spawn. Because we are respawn regarding Spawn. For each week, we're bringing you two issues from Spawn's universe. Except when we do not Exactly. We've got two issues for you today. We've got Scorch 44 and King Spawn 48. All the way back from August 2025, I believe, for Both of them. Yes. [00:08:40] Speaker B: That's what the covers are telling me. [00:08:41] Speaker A: That's what they're telling me. August last year. [00:08:44] Speaker B: Dang. Yeah. Almost six months ago. [00:08:48] Speaker A: But the trade paperback's probably hidden right now. [00:08:51] Speaker B: Probably. [00:08:52] Speaker A: If you don't remember them, you should reread them, because they're both amazing. [00:08:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Or, like, if there's still a king spawn 48 on the shelves, go fucking snatch it up. Right. [00:09:01] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's a. That's a goody goody. Holy. And it's like a perfect one shot. [00:09:07] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. This might be. This might be my going. Do you want. You want to get into Spawn? Here, read this. [00:09:15] Speaker A: Yeah, it made, like, kingspawn48 is like a culmination of, like, we're getting this new, like. Okay. Kingspaw was this cosmic horror thing, and then Tom McFarlane took over. It's kind of this muddled thing that was like, trying to write some continuity stuff and, like, you know, a little bit of that. [00:09:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:09:32] Speaker A: It was kind of a tool of the whole culmination with Nyx, but now with his new identity with Rory McConville and, like, the culmination of the last storyline. [00:09:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:09:42] Speaker A: And this storyline. And just. Just one shot, almost. It's amazing. [00:09:46] Speaker B: It's just. It's just nightmares. It's. It's basically Spawn. [00:09:51] Speaker A: Scary Spawn. [00:09:53] Speaker B: Being a Cenobite and punishing the bad people. [00:09:57] Speaker A: Like, this could be a Spawn. This could be the Spawn movie. [00:10:00] Speaker B: This would be an excellent spawn movie. [00:10:02] Speaker A: Oh, it'd be great. [00:10:03] Speaker B: It would be. It would be so good. I. I don't think the Todd McFarlane would let them get away without having all of the. All of the narration. And Didactic. Not Didactic. Didactic is learning. Whatever. Whatever it is. We're not diegetic. Ah, whatever. It'll come to me. Okay. It's not. This is. [00:10:27] Speaker A: This is not.44 rocks. [00:10:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:30] Speaker A: Anyway, that's good to talk about. [00:10:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Scorch 44 does rock. It rocks so hard. That's the one we're starting with, isn't it, Jenny? [00:10:38] Speaker A: Indeed it is. And I've got the A cover, which is Eddie Frank, AKA Redeemer. Hey, Old Redeemer. [00:10:48] Speaker B: Old, Old Redeemer. Old man Redeemer. [00:10:50] Speaker A: They took his long hair and just added a beard to it. He was always old. [00:10:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:55] Speaker A: Always old. Okay. [00:10:56] Speaker B: Yeah. And they took his eyes. [00:11:00] Speaker A: But now we know. [00:11:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:02] Speaker A: Who he was. Who. In King Spawn number one. It shows that little one shot where he gets where Hawk is knived a bunch. And Redeemer Comes to visit him. You don't know who it is? [00:11:12] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, man. Oh, man. I forgot about that. [00:11:17] Speaker A: I remember that. [00:11:18] Speaker B: Oh, man. Kingspot's so good. Well, I. Johnny, have cover B. I've got the Bjorn Baron. [00:11:24] Speaker A: I didn't even say who did it. I didn't see who did it. [00:11:26] Speaker B: Who did. Who did the COVID A, Johnny. [00:11:28] Speaker A: Thomas Lostic was Steve Cannon. [00:11:30] Speaker B: Nice. [00:11:31] Speaker A: That's Redeemer. He looks fucking awesome. [00:11:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:33] Speaker A: What are you gonna say? [00:11:33] Speaker B: He's in front of, like, a church window. It's very clearly a church. It's great. I got that. I got that Bjorn Baron's bee cover Johnny. And it's Old Hair himself. Totally forgot his name. I want to call him. [00:11:49] Speaker A: Jimmy's not supposed to be Eddie. [00:11:54] Speaker B: I don't think it's supposed to be Eddie. I think it's supposed to be what's his. What's his face? [00:11:58] Speaker A: Jim Downing. [00:11:59] Speaker B: Jim Downing. Yeah. Maybe it looks more. Because it's got. He's got the blonde hair. [00:12:04] Speaker A: Eddie has blonde hair. No, he's like white hair. He has white hair. I don't know. Yeah, you're right. It's probably supposed to be Jim Downing. [00:12:13] Speaker B: And yeah, he's. He's. He's just surrounded by a whole bunch of. It's like the elephant graveyard from Lion King, too. [00:12:22] Speaker A: And there's a lobby and, like, the sprinklers come on and they all melt. [00:12:26] Speaker B: Yeah. But, yeah, it's good. That good. They could be on bear and stuff. And then there's, like, green goop everywhere. He's just covered in it. It's real good. It's real good. Got that yellow and blue title treatment up there. Oh, sexy. Yeah, look at that blue background. [00:12:42] Speaker A: This was also yellow and blue, but it's inverted. [00:12:44] Speaker B: Oh. Oh, hey. Nice synergy. Complimentary. [00:12:50] Speaker A: Well, we pop it open and we got the credits. [00:12:54] Speaker B: Oh, yes, we do. [00:12:56] Speaker A: Script plot by John Layman and Todd McFarlane. On additional script. [00:13:00] Speaker B: I think I might. [00:13:01] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:13:02] Speaker B: I think I know where it is. [00:13:04] Speaker A: Art by Steven Segovia. [00:13:06] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. [00:13:07] Speaker A: Colors by Danae Ribeiro. Lettering by AM World Design. [00:13:11] Speaker B: Yes, sir. [00:13:12] Speaker A: We already covered the covers. [00:13:14] Speaker B: Absolutely did. [00:13:15] Speaker A: Creative Director is Todd McFarlane and editor in chief is Thomas. Previously in the Scorch, a series of brutal, murderous alerts to Scorch. The team Eddie Frank. The team Eddie Frank. It's like Jacob. [00:13:33] Speaker B: Team Eddie Frank. Team Eddie Frank. [00:13:36] Speaker A: All right. Previously in the Scorch, a series of brutal murders alerts the Scorch team. Okay. Keep this all in and do the music every time. Previously in The Scorch, a series of brutal murders alerts the scorched team that Eddie Frank's father has returned from hell. [00:13:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it's a lot of brutal myrtles. A lot of brutal murders. Brutal. [00:14:07] Speaker A: We need to do a warm up. We do like a vocal. [00:14:09] Speaker B: Yeah, we really do. [00:14:11] Speaker A: To sit in solemn silence on a dull, dark dock. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Yeah. What? He's supposed to repeat it. [00:14:19] Speaker A: I'm good now. I'm good, I'm good, I'm good. [00:14:22] Speaker B: But, yeah, Brutal murders and Eddie's dead. [00:14:25] Speaker A: Back from hell. [00:14:26] Speaker B: Yeah. And it sure seems. Johnny, it sure seems like this. If they were looking for a point at which to merge the scorched universe with the child's play universe, they totally could have done it with the Andy murders. [00:14:41] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:14:43] Speaker B: Handy. Just. Just Eddie's dad and I think a. [00:14:47] Speaker A: Toy story when I hear Andy not. [00:14:50] Speaker B: And Chucky team up to kill Andy's. Hey, I can't see over the counter. Can you help me with this Andy guy? [00:14:59] Speaker A: Hey, he's killing Andes. [00:15:02] Speaker B: You can't. You can't. You can't kill Chucky's Andy for him. He has to. He has to have the final thrust of the knife. But you can help us. [00:15:09] Speaker A: Think of that joke in Hot Fuzz. Like, we call them the Andes. It's like, why? Because they're both named Andy and they're hard to navigate. [00:15:18] Speaker B: I need to watch Hot Fuzz again. [00:15:19] Speaker A: It's good. I watched it last year. [00:15:21] Speaker B: Nice. But, yeah, we start off with just, well, the series of brutal murders. We got Andy Rich stabbed to death in an alley. Andrew Shaw murdered in front of his girlfriend in Central Park. Thomas Healy. Reminds us that's what happened in the last issue. [00:15:37] Speaker A: Yes, he came and killed him. [00:15:38] Speaker B: Uh huh. Anders Dwyer, killed in his home. And the latest victim, Andy Carlsberg, found at the corner newsstand. [00:15:47] Speaker A: He worked the last one. There was one in Chicago. That's gone. Is there still some downtown? [00:15:54] Speaker B: The last one that I knew of was on Michigan in Chicago and turned into like a place where you can buy tourist tickets. [00:16:05] Speaker A: Oh, my God. That's sad. [00:16:07] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess. There was one over in Wicker park. [00:16:10] Speaker A: Right outside the theater there. Yeah. [00:16:13] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I haven't. I haven't been that way in a while. There used to be one over in Berwyn, just right outside. They was. They sold porn outside of a Ace Hardware. Like literally, it was a newsstand, only they only sold porn. It was. It was wild. I think that one has since gone under as well. [00:16:35] Speaker A: How are you gonna find out? Like aliens are invading from a newspaper. Unless they have those. [00:16:39] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I would love to get my news from walking in front of a fucking television store. And just the wall of tv. [00:16:46] Speaker A: Hey, that'll be two cents. [00:16:48] Speaker B: You can't. [00:16:48] Speaker A: He can't read it for free. [00:16:50] Speaker B: Yeah, like. Like whole portions of. Of Watchmen would. Needs to be redone in order for them to have any sort of stuff happening if they were to update it to the Times. [00:17:03] Speaker A: Yeah, but that's why we don't update it, hopefully. [00:17:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, let's. I mean, although Watchmen, the show was pretty great. It was a pretty great little thing. [00:17:12] Speaker A: It was fine. [00:17:13] Speaker B: Yeah, the movie was fine. But that's. That's a tough. That's a tough adaptation. Ask. [00:17:19] Speaker A: It's fine. I'm not saying it's great. I give like a seven out of ten. [00:17:24] Speaker B: Yeah, it was. It was adequate. [00:17:27] Speaker A: It was adequate. And like, they changed the squid thing, which I love the show doubled down on. Yeah, that's David Lindelof. He's a. [00:17:36] Speaker B: Did you ever watch Ms. Davis? This is David. [00:17:38] Speaker A: Some of it. Yeah. [00:17:39] Speaker B: That was a fun show. [00:17:41] Speaker A: Is there a Lost in. [00:17:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I still need to. I still need to see Lost. We talk about it like every. [00:17:48] Speaker A: Watch it. [00:17:49] Speaker B: Probably not. [00:17:50] Speaker A: That's what I want for my 40th birthday in a month. [00:17:53] Speaker B: David, like start watching or have five weeks to watch all of it? [00:17:58] Speaker A: No. [00:17:59] Speaker B: Oh, okay. To start. To start. [00:18:01] Speaker A: How hard? I'm 39. Watch 39 hours of Lost. [00:18:06] Speaker B: 39 hours. Do you want this podcast edited? [00:18:09] Speaker A: No. Watch between two. My birthday is 27, so watch between two and seven hours of loss. [00:18:16] Speaker B: Okay. So between. So hopefully half. Half the first season is what you're wanting me to do. [00:18:22] Speaker A: It is 23 episodes, my friend. [00:18:24] Speaker B: Yes. [00:18:26] Speaker A: I guess that's 42 minutes long. [00:18:28] Speaker B: That's more than seven hours. So that would be doing really good if I watched the half of the first season. [00:18:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:34] Speaker B: I mean, what else am I gonna do? [00:18:36] Speaker A: Try it. I'll watch it with you. We have another podcast. [00:18:40] Speaker B: That's what the world needs. Another. Another Lost Rewatch podcast. [00:18:44] Speaker A: Oh, God, no. Help me a wish. Well, Johnny, I was watching Today show and Winnie the Pooh. The guy does the voices for him. Like, everyone. Like Darkwing Duck. [00:18:58] Speaker B: Is it still Jim Cummings? [00:18:59] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, he was on there. He has a podcast. He's like, oh, yes, I have a podcast. And then the next guest was. What's his name from Fallout and you know, Dale lynch. [00:19:12] Speaker B: Oh, Kyle McLaughlin. [00:19:13] Speaker A: He was like, I. I have a little podcast to mention that was just so cracking me up. He's like, oh, so humble. And I'm like, shut the up, Kyle. [00:19:24] Speaker B: McLaughlin doing too much. I like Kyle. [00:19:27] Speaker A: I haven't watched any of the new Fallout. Yeah, I like Kyle McLaughlin. [00:19:31] Speaker B: It's good. It's good so far. It's good. [00:19:32] Speaker A: I had to watch it. I like the first season a lot. [00:19:35] Speaker B: Yeah. As from somebody who's never played more than like 15 minutes of any Fallout game. It's good. It's real good show. It's got a ton of fun characters, a lot of good. A lot of good actors. [00:19:49] Speaker A: Well, at least you're not lurking. Well, you'll never learn about in a fucking newspaper, David. No, sadly, because this guy was murdered. [00:19:57] Speaker B: This newsstand, yeah, they've properly closed down. That's the last newsstand in the world and they closed it down. [00:20:03] Speaker A: So we got all these murders, the newsstand murders, guys dead. And we cut to who's talking about these murders. [00:20:08] Speaker B: Who could it be? It's somebody talking about who. Who normally talks about murders? Well, murder podcast hosts and the people that investigate those murders. Detectives. [00:20:20] Speaker A: And we turn the page. There's no other but Detective Sam Burke and Detective Twitch Williams, who. [00:20:27] Speaker B: They use his. His. His full Christian name later in the. In the issue. What do they say they call it? Jessica Priest refers to him as Maximilian. [00:20:39] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I just love that he has so many nicknames. You call Max, you call Twitch, you call Maximilian. [00:20:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it's like. It's like a. It's like a pet. You got more nicknames than they need. Yeah, it's just. Well, it's a little less of the office that we're used to with the sort of. [00:21:04] Speaker A: This isn't the office where they're fucking on it. Yeah, they're on it right now. [00:21:08] Speaker B: This isn't. This isn't the office with the two face aesthetic. [00:21:13] Speaker A: I like how they look, though, especially Sam. Like, seems to go to Sam. He looks like a. Like a NES or SNES beat him up character. Yeah. [00:21:22] Speaker B: Yeah, he does. And he's nice and scruffy. And Twitch. Twitch kind of looks like a little bit like an anime character. Like he's about to point and say lots of words in front of a kind of moving, static background. So that way they can save money on animation sales. [00:21:40] Speaker A: And he's like. You see in the pattern here, don't you, Twitch? [00:21:43] Speaker B: Twitch says I'd need an optometrist appointment if I didn't. [00:21:47] Speaker A: They had a serial killer focus on people named Andy. [00:21:51] Speaker B: Increasingly brutal murder techniques. [00:21:53] Speaker A: Oh, my God. And they're like, but why? But why? [00:21:58] Speaker B: What does it mean? What does it mean? [00:22:00] Speaker A: I really like me saying Nightmare Before Christmas. It's simple, really. Very clear. Like music drifting in the air. Invisible but everywhere. Something's there. You cannot see. It doesn't mean you can't believe it. I know you think this Christmas thing is not as tricky as it seems, but why should they have all the fun? It should belong to anyone. Not anyone, in fact, but me. You are make Christmas tree. I thought you wanted less. Danny Alphano Boingo on the podcast. And you queue me up like that. [00:22:31] Speaker B: I mean, I. I was. It wasn't. It wasn't queuing you up. It's just that it's how my brain works. But I really. [00:22:37] Speaker A: I could improve too. And that's exactly what I'll do. This year. Christmas will be our. [00:22:48] Speaker B: I was going to say, I really like this. The silhouette of Sam Burke and, like, the little stubble poking out from his chin. I really like it when they do that. [00:22:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:57] Speaker B: Yeah. But then we get the opening. The opening reading with recanvassing. [00:23:04] Speaker A: And then recanvassing is the second pair of eyes. Just like I need on every issue. I need you, David. [00:23:08] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:08] Speaker A: My second pair of eyes. [00:23:10] Speaker B: Yeah. And then after Twitch and Sam walk out and they turn off the lights, the off. The office is empty. And then some necroplasm eyes. [00:23:21] Speaker A: A pair of eyes appears. [00:23:25] Speaker B: It's real fun. [00:23:25] Speaker A: It's Spawn in a hood. She. [00:23:28] Speaker B: Spawn. Yeah, It's Jessica Priest. And then she's there with the Eddies. [00:23:34] Speaker A: And Ed and Jesse. [00:23:38] Speaker B: Who gets to play. Oh, Plank. Could be the board with the. The nail in it that is Spawn's first true weapon. Put a face on him. It's the. Jessica Priest says that it is the office of detectives Sam Burke and Maximilian Williams. Al's worked with them before. Says they're valuable assets. Best detectives he's ever met. [00:24:06] Speaker A: See? Okay, I'm going to say Steven Segoya's got some restraint here, because you could. You could have had her assets. [00:24:13] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:24:14] Speaker A: A little more towards viewer focus, but they're always very tasteful. Justin Priest. And I appreciate that. I'm not being creepy. [00:24:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:20] Speaker A: Give me a bonk just in case. [00:24:23] Speaker B: Okay. Bonk. Be with you. [00:24:25] Speaker A: She's hot. [00:24:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:27] Speaker A: And. But they. But they play classy in the scores. [00:24:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:30] Speaker A: Thomas Healy is a big part of that. Like, I think he. You mentioned that, like, he's like, the stuff is too sexy and like that, like. And it's good. Yeah, she's sexy, but she's not like an object. [00:24:41] Speaker B: Yeah. It's. It's comics. So it could be very easy for them to just be like, look at, we're just gonna show you some butt. And that's. That's all we care about. [00:24:52] Speaker A: And old Eddie's I think, kind of sexy too. [00:24:55] Speaker B: Oh. To be fair, old Eddie has that daddy energy that's incredibly difficult to resist. [00:25:03] Speaker A: I bet he smells good. [00:25:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I bet he does. I bet he does. And Jessica Priest is like, redeemer said this, that we should come here. And Redeemer's like, well, I learned some bad news when I was just a little bit older than you and figured you should probably get. Hold on to your butts and get a better jump on it than I did because it done fucked me up. [00:25:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:32] Speaker B: And young Eddie's just like, why don't you just tell me? I mean, why don't you just tell me? He's like, well, I'm trying to. [00:25:39] Speaker A: And trying to change the apocalypse. [00:25:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm trying to tell you in like, as unobtrusive a way as possible. Like. And so they're looking through the. They're looking through the. The Andy. The Andy murders files. Yeah. And Redeemer's just like, look, all of these people, the. Who killed her, they're all named Andy. And Y is like our brother. Like our brother. [00:26:02] Speaker A: Like the canon Toy story. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Yeah. And there's a reason for that. See this eyewitness sketch look familiar? And old Eddie, Dad. Yeah. And Y is like, it's dead. [00:26:14] Speaker A: Speaking of anime, It's a very anime panel. [00:26:16] Speaker B: Dad is. [00:26:17] Speaker A: It's dad. Dad has like a stat. He's like, sweating and like, there's a static image of his dad, him with a belt. [00:26:25] Speaker B: Uh huh. And old Eddie gives a quick recap of issue 29 of Main Title Spawn, which is called out here by Mr. Thomas Healy. [00:26:36] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:26:37] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's like, sent him to hell, but he's back with a vengeance. And then we get the. The janitor walking by and being like, hey, nobody's supposed to be in here. So he opens the door to the office, but once he opens the door, nobody's there. And he's just like, huh. [00:26:54] Speaker A: What a nerd. He looks like. You know what he looks like, David? [00:26:58] Speaker B: What's it look like? [00:26:59] Speaker A: He looks like Leisure Shoot Larry. He looks a little bit like Leisure Suit Larry. He does. [00:27:11] Speaker B: I guess, I guess, I guess the leisure suit doesn't pay for itself. Right. [00:27:16] Speaker A: It looks like Come Dreams Come. What was it called? Wet Dreams Come twice. What was the name of that game. [00:27:25] Speaker B: Gotta look it up. [00:27:27] Speaker A: Wet Dreams don't dry. That's what it was. [00:27:29] Speaker B: That's what it is. Yeah. Oh, boy. [00:27:37] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Leisure Suit Larry. [00:27:41] Speaker B: Did you know that apparently there was a text based game that Leisure Suit Larry is based on called softporn adventure from 1981. Exciting. Okay, bye, Larry. We'll see you later. [00:27:59] Speaker A: He kind of looks like Leisure Suit Larry. I'm sorry. I'm just saying. [00:28:01] Speaker B: Yeah, he does. [00:28:02] Speaker A: If you don't know who that is, you're listening to this. Look it up. It was ever present in the best buy PC game aisles. [00:28:08] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, always. And it was always. [00:28:11] Speaker A: Don't look at that. [00:28:12] Speaker B: Yeah, don't. [00:28:12] Speaker A: But someone's uncle always had it. [00:28:14] Speaker B: Somebody's uncle always had it. Then back at the hero's new hq, Johnny, somebody's saying, I killed him once, I'll do it again. Turns out, I guess that's a young Eddie. [00:28:24] Speaker A: They kind of pulled a Ninja Turtles too, here. They moved to, like, kind of urban lofty. [00:28:29] Speaker B: We already. We already discussed that. Yeah, yeah, we discussed that because remember, did you see that. That Zoran Mom. Dummy. That mom down. Me. Mom. Donnie. Mom. Dani. [00:28:43] Speaker A: Oh, God damn it. I'll teach you how to say it. Eminem. And M. N. N comes after M. So it's Mamdani Momdani. [00:28:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Mom. Donnie Momdani. He got. He got. He got sworn in and paid his nine bucks to be mayor in that. That closed down city Hall. Such a cool. Such a cool station. [00:29:06] Speaker A: He's a handsome man. [00:29:07] Speaker B: He's a handsome man. [00:29:08] Speaker A: Give me another ball for that. I'm horny for mom, dummy. [00:29:13] Speaker B: And Daddy Eddie. [00:29:17] Speaker A: And Daddy Eddie. [00:29:19] Speaker B: Old Daddy Eddie's just like, hold on. It's not gonna be as easy as just killing him again. We just got to be ready for him. We can take care of him when he shows back up. Then we'll send him back to hell. [00:29:31] Speaker A: Hold on. Hold on. [00:29:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:33] Speaker A: I need some answers here. I'm the team leader here. [00:29:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:35] Speaker A: She's like, you tired of your shit? [00:29:37] Speaker B: You're from the future. Tell me some stuff. [00:29:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:29:42] Speaker B: And it's like, I can't. I can't. It'll mess stuff up. But she's like, but we're. We're messing stuff up to avoid the bad shit. What the fuck's wrong with you? [00:29:49] Speaker A: You're messing up whatever you want to mess up. You're saying shit to your formal self. That's fucked up. So she's like. She tries to punch him. [00:29:55] Speaker B: Mm. [00:29:55] Speaker A: He does like A block. But it's still, like. Throws him across the room. [00:29:59] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a. That's a powerful fucking. Like, he. He does, like, the quick. The quick. Redeemer dressing. And Jessica Priest says, talk, or I could just beat it out of you. And Redeemer's just like, jessica, Jessica, hold on. There's a good. There's a good reason I can't tell you. And she's like, nope. Punch again. And so it's a. It's a nice little. A nice little interrogation scene. Jessica Priest, you know, just wailing on Eddie, old man Eddie. [00:30:31] Speaker A: She's like, we don't have our powers back now. Every motherfucker's gonna be coming out of the woodwork. [00:30:35] Speaker B: Yeah. We don't have time to be coy. And he's like, okay, fine. Okay, Jessica Priest. Stop. Stop. Okay, I'll tell you. I wanna. I wanna tell you, but I literally can't remember shit. [00:30:48] Speaker A: It's bringing Swiss cheese. [00:30:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:50] Speaker A: He looks like he went on tour with Jimmy Buffett and the Grateful Dead. Evidently, he did. [00:30:56] Speaker B: He doesn't remember it, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. [00:31:00] Speaker A: What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. [00:31:02] Speaker B: Yeah. What happens in Eddie's future stays in Eddie's future. And after this, this sad revelation, Mark just pops around the corner and he's like, hey, sorry, everybody. We gotta go. We. We have seen Eddie's dad elsewhere. And we cut to what Mark is describing as the most recent murder. The ribbon cutting for the future home of Segovia Towers. That's funny. And what happened was there was a city councilman named Andrew Hopkins who was at the ceremony. And with the rash of Andy's being killed, they decided to beef up his security presence and have more policemen there for him to keep him safe. And that, Johnny, was the very problem because they hired. [00:32:03] Speaker A: Maniac Cop. [00:32:04] Speaker B: Yeah. I was about to say it's like having Maniac Cop and almost exactly Maniac. Doesn't that happen in Maniac Cop? [00:32:11] Speaker A: Yeah, I think so. Or two. [00:32:14] Speaker B: I haven't seen two. So. [00:32:16] Speaker A: Two's good. [00:32:17] Speaker B: I mean, one was good. Maniac Cop's a good movie. [00:32:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:20] Speaker B: I expected it to be like a worse film than it was, but no, it's good as hell. Yeah. Very good. So we got Eddie's dad just all. And then the Scorch show up, and Eddie's dad goes. I was wondering how long it take to get your attention, but I'm glad you came. Eddie, is that you hiding behind that mask? And it's Reaper who steps up first. [00:32:46] Speaker A: We'Re not hiding, and we're both Eddie. They both step up. Yeah. [00:32:50] Speaker B: Yeah. And then. And then Redeemer just scabs. He scrowls him. [00:32:55] Speaker A: Yes. [00:32:55] Speaker B: And shoots a big old hole right in the middle of him. And then he scritches back together. Yeah. [00:33:02] Speaker A: His muscles reforms. [00:33:06] Speaker B: And he says, good, because I wouldn't want. It wouldn't be fun to kill you just once. [00:33:13] Speaker A: Medieval Swan's like, I don't know any of this shit. I don't care. I'm gonna decapitate this guy. That usually works. [00:33:18] Speaker B: Yeah. So he goes in there swinging. He. He manages to take off both of his arms with one fell, one swing of this giant sword. [00:33:29] Speaker A: A theme in these two issues. [00:33:31] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. As. As is the spelling of yah as yah. But yeah. Yeah. [00:33:41] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:33:41] Speaker B: Yeah, man. [00:33:42] Speaker A: Dude, I went to an Arby's the other day, and I asked the employee how it's going. She said, it's fire. And I was like, okay. [00:33:51] Speaker B: Excellent. I mean, you know, it's nice to know some people are having good days. [00:33:56] Speaker A: It's fire. It's fire. [00:33:59] Speaker B: Oh, man, I love Arby's so much. Arby's is good as hell. [00:34:03] Speaker A: Arby's is good, man. [00:34:04] Speaker B: I love Horsey Sauce. [00:34:06] Speaker A: They got an underrated chicken sandwich. [00:34:08] Speaker B: Oh, I've never had there. I know when they had, like, their Market Fresh sandwiches, when those first came out, and they had, like, that Reuben. That Reuben was good as hell. [00:34:15] Speaker A: Oh, nice. [00:34:17] Speaker B: I've never understood the hate on Arby's. I've always loved Arby's. [00:34:20] Speaker A: It started with the Simpsons. They have that one joke. They're, like, trapped in an island. And like, one of the kids in Bart's class is like, I'm so hungry, I could eat at Arby's. [00:34:33] Speaker B: Because you could still get the. The five. Can you still get the five for five? I don't think it's. You can still get five for five. [00:34:37] Speaker A: Oh, hell no, man. [00:34:38] Speaker B: Can you still get eaten? [00:34:39] Speaker A: Three box right now. [00:34:40] Speaker B: Oh, nice. Nice. I saw the ad from Advertisement for. Oh, no, that was Popeyes. Does Brahm still do a bag of burgers? [00:34:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:49] Speaker B: Is it still five bucks or is it like ten now? [00:34:52] Speaker A: I think it's like, five little burgers for 5.55 or something like that. [00:34:56] Speaker B: That's nice. I used to. I used to just. I used to just kill one of those as a casual afternoon snack after school. Yeah, they have five hamburgers in one sitting. That's too much. Too much. [00:35:08] Speaker A: You look wimpy. Over here. Yeah, I ate Brahms and Arby's a lot more than I did in the last three months. I have in the last 15 years, man. [00:35:18] Speaker B: You'll have to. You have. You're. You're eating for two, Johnny. You're eating for me as well. [00:35:22] Speaker A: Oh, I am? [00:35:23] Speaker B: Yeah. You gotta get a tuxedo sundae for me. Love it. [00:35:28] Speaker A: I never get the ice cream usually. [00:35:29] Speaker B: Oh, man, I gotta. I got a hella sweet tooth, so I'm always hitting that ice cream. [00:35:34] Speaker A: I do too, but. [00:35:36] Speaker B: And then Eddie's dad's like, oh, you bought some. You brought some friends, huh? Well, I don't blame you because I also brought some friends. [00:35:45] Speaker A: If you remember, last issue, they made a deal. Yeah, Eddie's dad went to hell. [00:35:52] Speaker B: Yeah, with Viscerator and Bishop and what's Haunt. What's her name? They gave her a name. Oh, yeah, I forgot what that name was. I'll have to. Dr. [00:36:06] Speaker A: Sexy. [00:36:08] Speaker B: Bunk, get another one. [00:36:11] Speaker A: She's like a hot doctor. [00:36:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:13] Speaker A: You want me to look it up? I have to dig through a bunch of issues. [00:36:16] Speaker B: Well, it's fine. She's only here for like this page, so. Yeah, we're almost done. And this. Johnny, I do believe this two page spread is where we get the additional script by Todd McFarlane. [00:36:28] Speaker A: I thought it was this. Yeah, it was this part. Yeah, it's exactly what I thought. [00:36:31] Speaker B: Yeah, like it has to be them for no good. [00:36:34] Speaker A: He was just. He's explains everything they've already explained. [00:36:38] Speaker B: Yeah, like. Like these four. Four big blocks of text that just literally repeats the one bubble worth of what happened explanation from four pages ago with the reference to the original issue. [00:36:56] Speaker A: Number and abuse and rage and like really Tom McFarlane specific words of really getting into the like, meat of it. Like, it's like he's digging his hands through some raw hamburger meat with his shit. [00:37:10] Speaker B: Oh boy. [00:37:10] Speaker A: We get it. It's fucked up what happened. [00:37:12] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's fun. It's fun though. I didn't. I didn't mind it. [00:37:16] Speaker A: I. I cracked up. Here comes the Todd father. That's so funny. You thought the exact same thing. It was like, has to be. I bet my life on it. Nothing in the issue is like this except for this part. It's just like, that's from a Todd McFarlane issue. [00:37:43] Speaker B: And then Jessica Priest is like, viscerator, you're behind this. And Viscerator says, yeah, I made a mistake the first time I went after you, C Spawn. I thought it best to take you on as individuals. But no, the scorched is a team, so I made a team of my own. [00:38:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:02] Speaker B: And it's just hard, her monologuing to them as we end the issue. And we get Jessica Priest at the vanguard and, you know, Redeemer and Medieval right behind her. Ready to go. [00:38:19] Speaker A: Yep. [00:38:20] Speaker B: And then we get the skull to end the issue. [00:38:23] Speaker A: Then we get Spawning Ground presents fan art. [00:38:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:28] Speaker A: Thomas Healy. [00:38:29] Speaker B: Yeah. Thomas. [00:38:31] Speaker A: Past and future guests chilling with Vision Arts. And Sarah the whips. [00:38:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Sarah thwips like, okay. [00:38:40] Speaker A: Like, like, like cosplayers. [00:38:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:43] Speaker A: Badass she spawn. He's got a badass spawn. [00:38:46] Speaker B: Yeah, that's definitely like a king spawn because it's got the big battle ax and the. [00:38:50] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. It's like the. Oh, yeah. Like those early covers. [00:38:53] Speaker B: It's real good. It's real good. Hella good cosplay. Yep. Need more Sponge Universe Johnny after this issue. [00:39:01] Speaker A: Yes, I do. [00:39:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, don't miss the ongoing titles we got. We have not covered a single one of those yet. [00:39:10] Speaker A: Okay, well, we will cover them. [00:39:11] Speaker B: We will get there. We will get there. The Image Classics ad, then we get my favorite. Yeah. The Diablo 4 figures on the back there. [00:39:20] Speaker A: I don't have any of them. Well, now I have Lilith. I have Lilith, but they're not. She's not featured in this. I should get those on Amazon. They're cheap. [00:39:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:39:27] Speaker A: I haven't played a lot this season because I got a Switch 2. David. [00:39:31] Speaker B: Oh, very nice. What you been playing on the Switch 2 Hades 2. Oh, nice. [00:39:36] Speaker A: And a Mario Kart. [00:39:37] Speaker B: Oh, very nice. [00:39:38] Speaker A: And still bad at Mario 0. [00:39:42] Speaker B: Nice. That's very fun. [00:39:44] Speaker A: Yeah, it's been great. I can take it on the go play on the couch. [00:39:50] Speaker B: You could say it's small enough to fit in your Jinko pockets because you just found your old Jinkos and they're back in style and you're like, hey, everybody, look at this vintage. [00:40:00] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. I've been working hard, so I just thought, I deserve myself a treat. [00:40:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:05] Speaker A: So I bought myself a switch too. [00:40:06] Speaker B: Everybody deserves a little treat from now and then. [00:40:10] Speaker A: Also, it was $50 off. [00:40:11] Speaker B: Oh, hell yeah. [00:40:12] Speaker A: After Christmas. [00:40:13] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [00:40:14] Speaker A: With Mario Kart. So it was like, really cheap. [00:40:16] Speaker B: Yeah. It's a no brainer. [00:40:18] Speaker A: But I knew I had to buy it now because the price of RAM is insane and they're only gonna raise prices on that shit. There's no way they can't raise prices on it. [00:40:27] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, under. Under society. [00:40:31] Speaker A: If I bought that for my PC, would have been more than the Switch, I think. [00:40:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:35] Speaker A: About the same Price. [00:40:35] Speaker B: Yeah, it absolutely would have. I have a friend who literally just built a new computer and for like a week's weak solid was just like, why is RAM is too fucking expensive? God damn. [00:40:47] Speaker A: Aaron said he bought some for 150. That's now worth like a thousand. [00:40:50] Speaker B: Jesus. [00:40:51] Speaker A: Like. Like five years ago when he built his PC or four years ago. [00:40:54] Speaker B: Well, I mean, it's. I mean, the same. Same thing happened during COVID is everybody was like, oh shit, I guess I need to. I guess I need to do computer stuff. And so like, I think RAM only recently just got back down to a reasonable price. [00:41:09] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:41:10] Speaker B: Yeah, it's insane. But that was two. [00:41:14] Speaker A: And that was scorch 44. [00:41:15] Speaker B: Hell yeah. That was. Yeah, scorched two. And switch 44. [00:41:21] Speaker A: Switch 44. It'll play you, David. [00:41:24] Speaker B: Oh, it's got like a little hole that you stick your finger in and it's like. [00:41:30] Speaker A: Don't ever say that again. Welcome back. Yes, there'll be no talk of sticking fingers into holes in this segment of the podcast. [00:41:59] Speaker B: Jonah's making sure of that. He's cutting it off at the pass right here, actually. [00:42:03] Speaker A: I don't know. Does that. That might happen this issue? There's a lot of fucked up shit happens in this issue we're about to cover. [00:42:08] Speaker B: God, that's. It's a little bit like. It's a little Saw esque. [00:42:15] Speaker A: It is Saw. Yeah. I immediately thought I saw. [00:42:18] Speaker B: Yeah. But yeah, King Spawn. [00:42:21] Speaker A: Same Bloom house. This is your movie, right? [00:42:23] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's just like right there. It would be a beautiful like. Like, you don't need to get behind the mythology of Spawn. People will be like, oh, that's Spawn. Cool. Go look them up. They can learn the mythology that way. And just knowing that he's a creepy. A creepy Hell pirate powered dude. That's enough. That should be enough. [00:42:40] Speaker A: That is enough. [00:42:41] Speaker B: They got a little dialogue in another portion where he's like, I am. I was hired. Hired. I was hired to be a general in Hell's army, but I defected. Right, right, easy. Like, it's just, you know, like I was a soldier in life, they wanted me to be a soldier in death. Or I guess he technically could be a soldier. No, man, whatever. We'll work on that opening narration that Al Simmons is gonna get all the information out of the way that you need to know. [00:43:16] Speaker A: Luckily, when you open a comic, you don't have an opening narration. You just have a cover. [00:43:22] Speaker B: Yeah, just the COVID And what kind of COVID What kind of COVID are you working with on kingspawn48. Johnny. [00:43:27] Speaker A: I got the A cover by Kebar. [00:43:31] Speaker B: Nice. Key bar cover is good. Look at all this. Look at all those bats. [00:43:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:43:37] Speaker B: Freaking bats. [00:43:38] Speaker A: He's on a cathedral and it's just very. [00:43:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:46] Speaker A: Sunset. It's nice. It's a nice color palette. You don't see it that often. [00:43:49] Speaker B: Yeah, Very, very red and orange. Yeah, it's good. It's a good one. I have cover B, the Don Aglio cover. And it is absolutely terrifying. This is. This is Swan losing his mind. Yeah. This is an example of the COVID actually reflecting what happens in the book. And it's like the Nightmare Spawn action figure, only in act real true Spawn colors. [00:44:20] Speaker A: Looks like an O BO album cover. [00:44:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, not quite. It's. It's not. He's not. He's not skeleton yet, so. [00:44:28] Speaker A: Okay. [00:44:29] Speaker B: He's almost there. [00:44:30] Speaker A: Only one of their. Only like two of their albums have skeletons on. [00:44:33] Speaker B: Yeah, but one of them has like 30 skeletons. [00:44:36] Speaker A: Yes. The most famous album. The worst album. [00:44:40] Speaker B: I love that album, though. [00:44:41] Speaker A: The Man's Party is a good album, but I. It's. [00:44:44] Speaker B: It's. [00:44:44] Speaker A: It's a. It's a B tier Boingo album, I would say. Nice, maybe a tier, but it's not S tier. [00:44:53] Speaker B: Okay. [00:44:54] Speaker A: It's certainly not A plus. [00:44:57] Speaker B: Sounds like we're rate and meat. Is it USDA choice or is it USDA Prime? Johnny. [00:45:05] Speaker A: Prime. [00:45:06] Speaker B: Prime. I don't. I don't know which one is higher. [00:45:09] Speaker A: I don't know what's inside either. [00:45:12] Speaker B: All these. All these ranking systems that I just don't know which one's best. But what is best, Johnny. It's popping open this cover and reading who the best people in comics making this comic book are. Johnny. Okay, we got script plot by Roy McConville with additional script by Todd McFarlane. [00:45:32] Speaker A: I didn't have a thesis for spotting his additional script in this. [00:45:35] Speaker B: Really? Yeah, I didn't. I couldn't. I couldn't find it. Obviously. [00:45:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Good job, Todd. Father this time. [00:45:43] Speaker B: Yeah, it's very subtle. We got art by. [00:45:47] Speaker A: Very subtle. [00:45:49] Speaker B: The Todd McFarlane. Yeah. Subtle. [00:45:51] Speaker A: That's what most people describe him as. [00:45:53] Speaker B: He's subtle. He moves in silence like lasagna. Because he's a g. What? It's a lyric from a song. Oh, geez. Oh, geez. Move in silence like lasagna. Because you don't say Lazette. I don't. It's. [00:46:11] Speaker A: Is it a rap song? [00:46:13] Speaker B: It is a rap song. [00:46:14] Speaker A: You're not allowed to quote it and speak it Then cracker. [00:46:19] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. We got art by Dudu Pancia. Oh, Dudu Pansika. There we go. I missed the a. The ca. Inks by Julio Ferreira, Color by Ivan Nunes. Lettering by and World Design. We covered the covers. Todd McFarlane is the creative director, and Thomas Healey is the editor in chief. Previously in King Spawn, Spawn confronts an inf. Spawn. [00:46:54] Speaker A: Aha. Not so easy, is it? [00:46:57] Speaker B: No, it is not. Previously King Spawn. Spawn confronts an ancient evil only to lose a new trusted ally. [00:47:06] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah, his agent, Lynch. [00:47:11] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. And that. Then he goes on that. That killing spree of all the people who. With him. Man, this is little. We've been having little bottle issues of King Spawn, and they're great. Oh, boy. But we start with somebody slowly waking up and just a trashed room. Hearing some people. Hearing some people having a conversation. And then they notice this person is woken up. They say he's awake. So all of them have been kidnapped. None of them know why they're there. They're just like, shit, I was just. I was just bumming around doing my thing, and the next thing I know, I'm here. And then somebody shuffles in and goes, ah, the new arrivals. And says, I'm Zach. I hope you are enjoying this terrible house of frightening bullshit. And one of the new arrivals attacks Zach and is like, why'd you bring us here? I was like, what are you talking about? I didn't do nothing. I'm a prisoner here just like you. And then the new arrival's like, then who the hell's keeping us prisoner? Zex is Spawn, dear friend. It's Spawn. [00:48:29] Speaker A: Oh, yes. [00:48:30] Speaker B: Yeah. So it's like a Saw movie. [00:48:32] Speaker A: It's like the beginning of a Saw movie. [00:48:34] Speaker B: Yeah. They're all trying to figure out why they're there. And it's like, what? What? And Zack says he brings. He brings everyone he brings here. He does. To make them suffer from their crimes or for their crimes. And then there's one of the new arrivals, like, up. No, I'm. I am above reproach. Never even had a speeding ticket. I should not be here. [00:48:58] Speaker A: I don't belong here. Like, these two. [00:49:00] Speaker B: What the. [00:49:01] Speaker A: Are you saying, Charles? [00:49:02] Speaker B: Yeah, the other two. Like, one of them grabs him by the. The collar, and the other one's just got his. Zach's like, don't worry. If you're here, there's a good reason you're here. And, you know, they're like, there's got to be way out of here. Why are we waiting around here? Let's get out of here. And Zach's just like, oh man, I'm telling you it's not, not going to happen. And they're like, you man, I'm going to find it. I'm going to get out of here. [00:49:27] Speaker A: To go see for yourselves then. Yeah. [00:49:31] Speaker B: So they're, they're walking around. We learned that one of these guys name is Hector. The, the, the guy who said that he doesn't belong here. His name is Charles. [00:49:41] Speaker A: He's like, he's like a portly ginger fellow. [00:49:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Probably an accountant of some kind. And then the punk who we saw waking up on the very first page, his name is Rudy. And they're just walking through the halls like it sounds like somebody else is here. I can hear some voices. And they turn a corner and there's just like bodies stuck in the wall. [00:50:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:50:04] Speaker B: Just like, like frozen in, in grief. And Hector's like by. This is some, this is some, some cheap, cheap haunted house. [00:50:14] Speaker A: Abracadabra. Some hocus pocus. Yeah, Here you go. Let's go. [00:50:20] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's. [00:50:22] Speaker A: We got, I got, we got our ghost tickets. We're gonna get our ghost tickets. [00:50:26] Speaker B: Hell yeah. Very exciting. Some, some abracadabra. He wants to reach out and grab you. [00:50:32] Speaker A: I hope papa reaches out. [00:50:34] Speaker B: Grabs me. Oh, that would be nice. [00:50:37] Speaker A: Maybe another bonk, I think. [00:50:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Yes indeed. This episode's just gonna be a bonk after bonk after bonk. [00:50:46] Speaker A: It's like four so far. [00:50:48] Speaker B: And Hector's like, I heard about this spawn guy. Some of my boys saw him just limping through town. He ain't. Rudy's just like you, you know. Why, why, why did he bring us here? I mean I, I'm sure, sure I. I jacked a whole bunch of cars. But I mean it's just car deserve like hell torture. Yeah. And Charles is still just like, I do not, I do not think I belong here. And then Hector gets to the front door and he's like, yeah, whatever. Well, I'm getting the out of this place. And then after I get out, we're going to come back and burn it to the ground. This piece of shit is going to wish he was never. And then they open the front door and it leads them right back to the room where they started. And Zach's just sitting on a, on a bug covered box just giggling like, wiping away tears of like laughing, crying just like you motherfuckers. I've been here so long, you should just fucking listen to me. [00:51:44] Speaker A: You know, this reminded me. This reminded me of some Blair Witch Shit. Blair Witch does to you. [00:51:48] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Hell yeah. [00:51:50] Speaker A: Up, like going to the same location over and over again and like with your reality and like who's who. [00:51:56] Speaker B: Yeah, don't they. Isn't that one of the things is that she traps them in that house? Yeah, yeah. [00:52:02] Speaker A: I mean, if you watch the trilogy. [00:52:04] Speaker B: Yeah, they're all I need to watch. I need to watch them again. I do need to watch them again. Good ass movies. [00:52:12] Speaker A: They're all good. [00:52:13] Speaker B: Yeah, they are. They're very good. [00:52:15] Speaker A: We talked about Blair Witch 2 on this podcast. [00:52:18] Speaker B: A little bit. A little bit. [00:52:20] Speaker A: You said you liked it, right? [00:52:21] Speaker B: Yeah, it was fun. Yeah, it was good. [00:52:24] Speaker A: Better fucking like Blair Witch 2 and the Blair Witch or just Blair Witch the third one. Yeah, it's also very good. [00:52:31] Speaker B: Yeah, it was very good. Oh, it was fucking frightening. [00:52:34] Speaker A: Terrifying. [00:52:35] Speaker B: Yeah. And Zach's just like, I don't know where we are sometimes I can hear people and cars outside. But it's at random times. I yell a lot. Nobody's ever done anything about it. There was one lady here who was trying to claw her way out of these boarded up windows. And every time that she would break a board, a new board would be underneath it. She drove herself crazy. She wore her fingers down to stubs just trying to get out and she couldn't. And then Hector's like, that's, you know, it. And then his. His mouth suddenly goes with a little bit of sew in his mouth. Gets. [00:53:16] Speaker A: Shut up. Sutured up. [00:53:18] Speaker B: Sutured. And then we see the spawn. The spawn voice bubble. And it says quiet. And then we turn the page, Johnny. [00:53:26] Speaker A: And it's great because there's like no color. Then you get all this red. [00:53:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:53:32] Speaker A: And green. And Swan is there. [00:53:34] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's just. Oh. [00:53:39] Speaker A: He instantly rips both of Hector's arms off. [00:53:42] Speaker B: Yes, he does. Just like he shoots his chains out and then just goes. Blink. And then Hector's just there on the floor like the rest of the rest. [00:53:52] Speaker A: He's like, run, run. [00:53:55] Speaker B: And then. And then Spahn starts to do his little Hector White. This is your judgment. You murdered many people over your life. Some were scum like you. But there were those who were innocent and they want their justice. And there's just this teeming mass of like gooey bodies. [00:54:17] Speaker A: Just at least ten people you killed. [00:54:19] Speaker B: Yeah, they're just like coming out of the ground and they go over and we see the hands descend on him and he's trying to yell through his sutured lips. [00:54:27] Speaker A: Imagine it's like that death In. [00:54:30] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:54:32] Speaker A: The other week. [00:54:34] Speaker B: Oh, boy. Then we go back to the other. The other team. [00:54:38] Speaker A: Day of the Dead. Day of the Dead. Sorry. I It up just then. [00:54:41] Speaker B: I wasn't even gonna try because I can never remember which one it is. [00:54:44] Speaker A: Day of the Dead. It's the one where that happens. [00:54:47] Speaker B: We catch up with the others, and Charles falls back because he can't run very fast. And he gets caught in the. The black. The darkness that holds him down. And he's sitting in front of Spawn like, please, please, I never hurt anybody. I never killed anybody in my life. Spawn says, you've destroyed thousands of lives. You never think of them, do you? This is the. This is the. [00:55:10] Speaker A: This might be the. [00:55:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:14] Speaker A: But it's true. [00:55:15] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:15] Speaker A: All the families who drove into the streets, just save your profits. People pushed to suicide. They're just nervous on a spreadsheet. Not real people like you and your family. [00:55:25] Speaker B: And then Spawn shows them. Shows him his family. I'm. I'm not. These are just fake. Fake his family. [00:55:32] Speaker A: Hopefully he didn't kill his. [00:55:32] Speaker B: I don't think he killed his. But, like, he's like. He just shows them his family floating in a pool of blood. And Charles is like, ah. [00:55:40] Speaker A: Ah. [00:55:40] Speaker B: No, please. And then he goes to, like, hold them, and he's crying and he's like. He's like. Like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. And then they go away. And we go back and we see that Charles is just covered in scorpions and spiders and rats. Rats. [00:56:01] Speaker A: All the Indiana Jones creatures are. [00:56:03] Speaker B: Yeah, except for snakes. No, snakes. Sad. Sad. And then Spawn just walks away. And he says, take your time with Charles, my pets. Those little rats are just gonna be like. [00:56:21] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:56:22] Speaker B: That's gonna be. That's gonna be good audio to listen to. [00:56:26] Speaker A: And Rudy, ASMR is rats eating people. [00:56:31] Speaker B: Ah. It's. It's the only way I can relax in the evening, Johnny. I gotta hear the. The scurrying of a whole bunch of little insect feats. And the gnawing of. Of teeth on bones. Zach and Rudy bust into another room, and Rudy shuts the door behind them. Like, that's gonna save them. And Rudy's like, where are we supposed to hide? And Zach's just like, hi. Then Rudy is just getting so pissed. And Zach's like, no, no, no, dude, no, no. You're not getting it. You're gonna die, and it's gonna fucking suck. And then, you know, he might bring you. If you're lucky. You will only die the one time. But if you're not lucky. He'll do to you what he did to me. And he brings me back every time. And this is very. This is very. The body forming in the attic of Hellraiser. [00:57:26] Speaker A: Yes. [00:57:28] Speaker B: It's like he regrows me each time, and it takes months, and I feel every second of it, and it fucking sucks. And Rudy's. Rudy's just like, oh, boy, oh, boy. This is no good. And then right after Zach finishes his little story about what Spawn does to him, he starts bubbling and boiling, and it's like, oh, not again. No, no, not again. Not again. And he just explodes. Oh, shit. Look at that. That's insane. [00:58:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:58:01] Speaker B: And then Rudy's just sitting there covered in. In Zack's viscera, just being like, oh, God. Okay. And Spawn comes over and goes, you can go. And Zach's like, oh, I can. Cool. Awesome. Thanks. I swear I'll never tell anybody about this ever. Never, ever, ever. And Spawn's like, no, you're gonna fucking tell people about this or I'm gonna. I'm going to do to you what I did to him and bring you back here forever. We've got super, super frightening. Super frightening Spawn standing over him. And he's got his glowing fist of neck just like necroplasm. [00:58:39] Speaker A: Yeah. It's just like. Rudy's like, holy. [00:58:44] Speaker B: Yeah, we get the King. [00:58:47] Speaker A: King's crown logo. [00:58:49] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's the issue. It's great. [00:58:56] Speaker A: Great. [00:58:57] Speaker B: So gross. So gross. So visceral. [00:59:00] Speaker A: They get a very charming spawning rounds, too. Kind of like, you know, swing. Swing the pendle the other way. [00:59:09] Speaker B: It's a. It's like, my. You know, when you're getting into horror movies, everybody always tells you to, like, as soon as you. You finish something that's super scary, throw on like a Disney movie or something like that. So that way it kind of like resets you. This is like a. The Disney movie reset for the horror film that was this issue. Because we get a nice. A nice little submission from the one, the only. The Jet. [00:59:37] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a commando Spawn. [00:59:38] Speaker B: Yeah, on Johnny. It is the. He modeled it after the playset that the kids are clamoring for. [00:59:47] Speaker A: The. [00:59:47] Speaker B: The Al Simmons. The Al Simmons grave playset with body launching action. But no. Yes. Jet drew a commando Spawn on Al Simmons's grave. And it fucking rocks. There's just like a big skull in the background. Commando Spawn is done really nice. And it's got the big swoopy cape. It goes into. You know. [01:00:10] Speaker A: Use the toothbrush. [01:00:10] Speaker B: Yeah, he used a toothbrush. He went. He did. He gave us some technical breakdown of how he was, how he's doing the stuff. And I. I think that's cool. That's cool. This kid's learning all the techniques, Johnny. It's a very good piece. And then another submission from Ash in Ottawa, Ontario. Sending just, you know, a Spawn with the glowing green fist of Justice. Yeah, it's a pretty good one. Some good fan. [01:00:39] Speaker A: He loves Spawn Scorch. He thinks he's a truly gifted Canadian and have inspired me to keep drawing for several years. [01:00:48] Speaker B: Yeah, that's fun. So, Hell yeah. We like. We like some. We like some fan art and Hell yeah. Jet. You need more Sponge Universe, Johnny. Again. Yeah, yeah. Okay, well, there's some ongoing titles for you there. [01:01:04] Speaker A: No more I Can't take it. [01:01:07] Speaker B: Oh, you will take it and you will like it. Okay, we got the. [01:01:11] Speaker A: If the next page told me that, I'd agree. [01:01:14] Speaker B: We've got the Witch. The Witch blade ad. Very exciting. [01:01:19] Speaker A: Another bonk. Another bonk. [01:01:22] Speaker B: And then the UFC toy ad is the one on the back. [01:01:25] Speaker A: Anti bonk. [01:01:27] Speaker B: You get to remove a bonk from earlier in the episode. [01:01:32] Speaker A: No, just make. Play the vox sound effect backwards. [01:01:35] Speaker B: Okay. Okay, I think I can do that. That's kingspawn48, Johnny. [01:01:44] Speaker A: It is. It was great. Oh, man, that was really good. It's just like a fun little story. [01:01:50] Speaker B: Yeah, both of them. I mean, even the. The scorched is largely self contained. Even though it's literally a linking issue, it's still the scorched. [01:02:00] Speaker A: The scorching. The king spawn is spawning. [01:02:02] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, it's. It's wonderful. They're very good. If they. If they were dogs, Johnny, I would call them good ducks. [01:02:12] Speaker A: But what would you rate them? [01:02:14] Speaker B: Well, they'd have to be a puppy first for me to rate them. So let's declare these things puppies, Johnny, and let's rate them. [01:02:22] Speaker A: It's time to rate the puppies. First up, we had scorched 44. [01:02:31] Speaker B: It's real good. [01:02:32] Speaker A: It's real good. It's got the Andy Murders. It's got Sam and Twitch. It's got the Scorched between the team. It's just excellent. I have five Dateline episodes. Out of five. [01:02:44] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [01:02:44] Speaker A: Like, the Andy stuff kind of reminds me of like a Dateline episode. [01:02:47] Speaker B: Yeah, it's an amazing issue. The story is good. I love Jessica Priest beaten answers at a Old Redeemer. I like that. We're getting. We're getting the, like, Old Redeemer's weaknesses and it's well we're also getting. [01:03:04] Speaker A: The villains are coming back. It's not like the Todd McFarland thing, Gunslinger, where every issue there's a new villain. He just disappears. Disappears. [01:03:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:10] Speaker A: Who was that? Yeah, we have these people we have a relationship with that are coming back. It's really nice. [01:03:16] Speaker B: The. It's just. It's just beautiful. And we get our boys. Our boys are there. We get, you know, the. I like the. I do like that. The scorched do tend to like every. Every 10 issues or so. There's another like anti Scorch team that they gotta fight. And I. I like it. I like it. It's real fun. I'm gonna give this. Johnny, I'm gonna give this five Andy murders because there are five murdered Andes in this book. So that makes this an entrant into the Hellfire Club. Johnny. We both gave it five does. It's very good. [01:04:00] Speaker A: I think we have another. I'm gonna guess we have another. Another entrance to the Hellfire Club next because we have. [01:04:07] Speaker B: I'm gonna. I'm gonna. I'm gonna tank this score just so I don't have to put that in there. [01:04:10] Speaker A: Yeah, right. [01:04:11] Speaker B: No, no. [01:04:12] Speaker A: This is a great issue. It's amazing. It's like this fun little horror movie. Like I said, this could be the basis of the script for a spawn movie. Spawn movie could be this script like this and they flesh it out like, you know, 20, 30 minutes. It's amazing. Yeah, it's a great story. It. I don't know, it. It really makes me believe this. Rory McConville led King Spawn. The direction it's taking much more street level. Like this stuff he did with the last storyline and just jumping right into this. Yeah, it's really cool. Yeah, it's something you only get in comic books because episodic television rarely does this. Like sometimes they do a bottle episode now, but not like they used to. No, it's not like they used to unloss, David. [01:04:56] Speaker B: Now the. The bottle up. The bottle episode is. Loss is a lost. Like, it's a lost device now because you have the. Over the overarching narrative that you're trying to service and you're not just trying to fill air. So it's less likely that you're gonna have a bottle episode anymore, which is sad because I fucking love a bottle episode. That's where you get like the Deep Space Nine episodes where they. They put they. They Forrest Gump, the Deep Space Nine cast into the trouble with tribbles. Yeah, it's a good ass episode Man. [01:05:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:05:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:31] Speaker A: I think it shows why comic books are special. I think it's great. I'm give it five. I'm singing the Saw theme song. I'm giving it five Saw theme songs out of five. [01:05:46] Speaker B: I thought, I thought you. I thought. I thought for a second there, I thought it was Live and Let Die. [01:05:55] Speaker A: It sounds like Live and Let Die. It's very similar. Okay. But the softy was like. Yeah. We were at five Saw themes out of five. [01:06:15] Speaker B: Hell yeah. Well, Johnny, the art in this is just so, so perfect for a little horror comic. Rory McConville is just like throwing out incredible ideas and it's just. Yeah. Like he's. It's like he's got Spawn on his bones. It's. [01:06:37] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I mean, it feels like Spawn was like in the night. Like you could splice this in with the 90s stuff and like not miss a beat almost. [01:06:47] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's good. Yeah. And it's. I like that has all these. All these elements that we can relate to other horror things. But still, I think works very well on its own. It doesn't. It doesn't really seem very derivative. [01:07:05] Speaker A: No, it's. It's its own thing. [01:07:07] Speaker B: Yeah, it's awesome. [01:07:08] Speaker A: Prestige is amazing. Yes. Is what art is now. [01:07:11] Speaker B: I love pastiche and. Yeah, I'm gonna give this. I'm gonna give this five fingers or. Yeah. Five finger stubs out of five for this lady trying to crawl out. Because it's. It's good. [01:07:24] Speaker A: It's very easy. Horror. [01:07:25] Speaker B: Yeah, it is. [01:07:27] Speaker A: Well, you know what that means, David? [01:07:29] Speaker B: Yep. That's another entrance. The Hellfire Club. [01:07:33] Speaker A: And that means. [01:07:36] Speaker B: Oh, I forgot what we're supposed to do if both of them do it. [01:07:38] Speaker A: The fucking Foghorn, baby. [01:07:40] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's right. [01:07:41] Speaker A: Air horn. Okay, here we go. That means. Okay. [01:07:50] Speaker B: Nice, nice, nice. I'm keeping. I'm keeping that whole thing. [01:07:54] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I know. Keep it all the way. Keep all the mess ups in tonight. It's only an hour and 16 minutes of far. [01:08:00] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's good. So you know what else is good, Johnny? The spawn immunity. [01:08:06] Speaker A: Spawn immunity. [01:08:07] Speaker B: And the good in this spawn mutity shout out this week is going to be from the one, the only Sarah Thwips who showed her awesome Jessica Priest cosplay to one Mr. Thomas Healey, who I'm sure. I'm sure Thomas Healey loves the Jessica Priest cosplay. He's a confirmed. A confirmed Jessica Priestman. As. As you know, as is right. Because she kicks so much ass. Yeah. Give Jessica at Jessica Thwips to follow or not Jessica Thwips at Sarah Thwips. And that's Sarah with an H. So S A R, A H, T, H, W, I, P S. That's right. She's got. She's got a lot of good cosplays here. She's got some Acolyte cosplays. She's got some. Some rogue cosplay from. [01:09:00] Speaker A: Is it Star Wars Acolyte? [01:09:02] Speaker B: Yeah, like Star Wars Acolyte. [01:09:05] Speaker A: Nice. If it wasn't scared of Instagram, I would go check it out. [01:09:09] Speaker B: She's got some cool shit. Nice. Yeah. And then while you're on Instagram, why don't you check out our lack of. [01:09:18] Speaker A: Cosm, which I will be posting. It's coming back. Our Instagram's coming back. I'm saying on mic, on record. It's coming back. It may not be the day the episode comes out, but it'll be the week the episode comes out. We'll have a post. [01:09:32] Speaker B: Yeah. But come see our lack of cosplay at. Regarding Spawn Pod on Instagram. [01:09:36] Speaker A: Message us and then also message us regarding SpawnPod gmail dot com. [01:09:42] Speaker B: Yes, indeed. [01:09:43] Speaker A: David has said he wants you to ask us questions. Yeah, ask us questions, ask us questions. Whatever you want to ask about anything. [01:09:50] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, do it. [01:09:53] Speaker A: I wish you could do a call in format. That'd be fun. [01:09:58] Speaker B: It would be so hard to schedule because we'd have to announce that we were recording at this time, so we'd have to think of when we were recording more than a day in advance. [01:10:11] Speaker A: Stop giving me all our secrets. Our other secret is our music. That is by. [01:10:17] Speaker B: That's no secret, though. Yeah, Lonnie Bones does our music. Just Lonnie Bones music. Just Google it. You can find him anywhere you find music. It's good as hell. And, you know, like us. Subscribe to us, tell your friends and family and co workers and stuff about us. You know, get them into the podcast. [01:10:37] Speaker A: And if you want to get into it next week. [01:10:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:10:40] Speaker A: You can tell them what we'll be covering, which is David. [01:10:43] Speaker B: Yeah. We will be recovering medieval spawn number four. So another little Rory McConville action. [01:10:49] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [01:10:50] Speaker B: And speaking of the Todd father himself, the epilogue to Hell Hath arisen in the main title, spawn number 368. So there he is next week. That's medieval spawn number four. And main title spawn 368 is what we will cover. [01:11:09] Speaker A: Can't wait. [01:11:11] Speaker B: I mean, unfortunately, it's going to be nowhere near as good as this issue was or episode was because I can't imagine these were. [01:11:17] Speaker A: These are all timers. These are like something you hand. Like you said, these are something you hand people to get them into it. [01:11:22] Speaker B: Like, I need to go back and buy a whole bunch of king spawn 47s and 48s and just start flinging them out at people randomly and being like, you like Spawn now? There you go. You like Spawn now? It's great jumping on points and like. [01:11:37] Speaker A: These books, King Swan and Scorch are special to me because they're the ones that launched when I got into it. King Spawn got me into it. And Scorched is the one that kind of like. And I like gunslinger a lot too. [01:11:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:11:48] Speaker A: But like King Spawn, Scorch I really latch on to. And like, I'm glad they're doing well. And just. They're amazing. [01:11:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, they're fucking incredible. Scorched has been the most consistent. It's been the most title it. [01:12:03] Speaker A: Honest. Honestly has been. [01:12:05] Speaker B: And like, I still think about issue seven a lot. The one about Jessica Priest's background. [01:12:13] Speaker A: It's good. [01:12:14] Speaker B: They've just been. They've been doing great shit with that. With. With Scorched. It's so good. [01:12:20] Speaker A: You know, Dave, it's a good time to be a Spawn fan. [01:12:23] Speaker B: It is. It's a great time to be a Spawn fan. Because Spawn is good Spanish love. And. Well, Johnny, since we're talking about him, I guess I don't have anything else to say except for. May this fucking good ass run of the Scorched be with you. [01:12:38] Speaker A: Enough's with you, David. [01:12:39] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [01:12:41] Speaker A: Hell yeah. [01:12:41] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [01:12:42] Speaker A: Good ass run. When I think of a run in. When I nearing 40, I think of either shitting my pants or my A thread coming loose. It's ruining my pants. [01:12:53] Speaker B: Yeah, you got it. You got it. You gotta run in your. In your pants, man. That's. That'll never ruin your day. Either or either are, but not the Scorched. If you have. If you have a ruined today. Johnny, turn that shit around with a. With an issue of the Scorched. Just pick up a random one. I don't think there's a stinker in the bunch. [01:13:14] Speaker A: I agree. [01:13:15] Speaker B: I think we might have been a little cruel in issue nine because it was just the middle of a fight. [01:13:22] Speaker A: Whatever. What do you get the over those made me think of. I want to get my old scores number one and spot King Spawn number one out and flip through and touch them because I read this so many times. [01:13:35] Speaker B: Yeah, should probably do that. [01:13:40] Speaker A: I love Spawn. [01:13:47] Speaker B: Sam. Sa.
