[00:01:23] Speaker B: Opened the toy Nexus and all the toys have been alive and, like, coming in and out of my house, I found out overt kill is really a big fan of Oan and Newsmax. Overkill's, like, alt right, and he's been. I think he's been letting the pundit in. He's been turning, like, Pluto tv has been turning it to oan a lot. I don't know if he's summoning the third pundit, but, yeah, it's definitely overkill. I think clown might be helping him, but I'm gonna have to close this toy nexus at some point. I think that means it probably came. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Out February or March. Yeah, probably. [00:06:27] Speaker B: It's probably. We had it our hands in March, but sometimes the spawn ones are actually accurate. It depends. I remember the scorch had a couple. It was kind of like herky jerky getting started because it was delayed, and then there was a couple weeks, like, there's a little bit of delay between some of the issues, if I recall correctly. [00:06:42] Speaker C: Yeah. I don't remember specifically which ones and how long the delay were, but I do remember there being some issues because I think it came out two months after it was supposed to the first time. [00:06:54] Speaker A: Right. It was supposed to be November or. [00:06:56] Speaker B: December, and it came out, like, end January ish. Anyway, so scorch number four from April 2022. And the newer issue, spawn, mainline spawn 336, all the way back from December 2022. So, you know, a little over a month ago. A month or two ago. Give you time to catch up, find it. You know, go spawn hunting for it, go on a spawn safari. [00:07:22] Speaker C: It's just old enough that if anybody. [00:07:25] Speaker A: Tried to order extra, just because, you. [00:07:28] Speaker C: Know, Spawn's been moving lately, then you should be able to find some stuff. [00:07:33] Speaker B: Yeah. These newer ones are usually still $2.99, even on eBay. [00:07:36] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Unless it's. [00:07:38] Speaker C: Unless it's like, you know, that one to 25, one to 50 variant or whatever, those ones, they almost immediately will mark up. [00:07:45] Speaker A: Yeah. And those. [00:07:47] Speaker B: Some of those random back when the shortages, those random early king Spawn and. [00:07:51] Speaker A: Gunslinger spawns are worth something, but most. [00:07:54] Speaker B: Of them are just kind of keep the same price. Unless the COVID is, like, sought after. We're not about price. We're about story and adventure and horror and action and just having masks and chains and capes, and that's what Spawn's about. [00:08:10] Speaker C: Heavy on the chains. [00:10:28] Speaker B: Fur, perfect for making comic book paper. And then he'd talk about how the tree became a comic book and, like. [00:10:35] Speaker A: About art and stuff. And then you show songs, like, some. [00:10:37] Speaker B: Of them are violent, but that's okay. Love Jupera talks with you. [00:10:43] Speaker C: Oh, one of my favorite jokes is it's, you know, you know, it's wholesome but deceptively pointed. And there's that one where he's, he's friends with the old black guy, and he's like, we're. We're testing. Imply implicit bias in the system by suing each other. And. [00:12:44] Speaker C: Saigor and the overt kill. [00:12:45] Speaker B: Well, not overkill so much because he's alt right. But, you know, I'm gonna try to convert, turn him around. And I was like, who the hell is this guy? So I guess. I guess he didn't move a lot then. But now that they're bringing him back into the story, he's probably gonna. [00:13:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:43] Speaker B: Respawning grounds, this is not a character that has been introduced. Not in the regular spawning grounds. This is a character that has not been introduced. [00:15:51] Speaker A: Because someone asked who it was. [00:15:53] Speaker B: And Thomas Healy was like, hey, if you take a look at this alternate. Because someone was asking for more female characters. And he's like, look at this cover. There's an unintroduced character, so. And as of yet, we still haven't met him. [00:16:04] Speaker C: Yeah, I know. Cause that was the same spawning grounds where they also said something about Sam and Twitch. And then I was like, johnny, they said that Sam and Twitch were on those interconnected covers. You gotta check it for me. You gotta check it for me. [00:16:15] Speaker A: Oh, right. [00:16:15] Speaker B: Cause you thought you were talking about Sam and twitch. It's like, no, it's just the lady that kind of looks like the wasp. She's got a chain around her and some skulls. So I imagine spawn adjacent. I'm thinking maybe Nyx. [00:16:25] Speaker A: Maybe. [00:16:26] Speaker C: Maybe. Could be. [00:16:27] Speaker B: It looks like she's blonde. She's got, like, a ponytail. Like, when he signs it, it says Todd McFarlane. [00:16:58] Speaker A: What does it say? [00:16:59] Speaker B: It says, like, todd McFarlane and style of Jim Lee are like, inspired by Lee. [00:17:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:03] Speaker C: Or like, after Lee. [00:17:04] Speaker B: After Lee. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:06] Speaker B: Based off that one X Men cover. [00:17:07] Speaker C: Uh, nice, nice. [00:17:09] Speaker B: And it has, like, you know, a spawn milestone. 30 years of spawn. Fourth issue, a team is born. So, like, classic nineties style approved by the Image comics authority. [00:17:20] Speaker A: So pretty fun. [00:17:22] Speaker B: But yeah, that a cover with, uh. [00:17:24] Speaker A: With, uh, soul crusher. [00:17:25] Speaker B: It's pretty iconic to me. [00:17:27] Speaker A: I love it. It's, it's great. [00:17:28] Speaker C: It it's so good. Soul Crusher is such a good character. So speaking of, uh, Jim Lee's X Men, just real quick, before we get in here, I watched like an hour long documentary about the making of the X Men cartoon theme song. And it was fascinating. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Okay. [00:17:43] Speaker C: It was fascinating. So much work went into that thing. [00:17:46] Speaker A: And it was still one of the. [00:17:49] Speaker C: Greatest musical stings of all time. [00:17:51] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. So iconic. Yeah. [00:17:55] Speaker C: So now I need them to make one for the scorched. So that way I can have that in my head every time I pick up one of these comics. [00:18:02] Speaker A: We need a good scorched theme. [00:18:04] Speaker B: Let's ask Brian to write one. [00:18:06] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:18:07] Speaker C: And then if they start a cartoon series off the scorch, we'll be like, hey, we know a guy that makes music for you. [00:18:12] Speaker A: You can make an old theme. [00:18:14] Speaker B: I'll have my dreams. If there was like a Saturday morning cartoon of the scorch for kids, I. [00:18:18] Speaker A: Would watch the hell out of that. [00:18:21] Speaker C: They'd probably have it at like 05:00 in the morning. So that way it's just too early for kids to wake up. [00:18:26] Speaker B: There's just like those weird syndicated shows that would be on that early. And you're like, is this a real show? Cause sometimes you occasionally catch it. I remember when I was a kid, there was a Zorro cartoon that was on at five in the morning. And I'd like sometimes see it and be like, is this real nice? [00:18:41] Speaker C: Ours was, it was infomercials up until six when cartoons started, and then infomercials at one after cartoons ended. And it's like, dang it. Or, or some of the channels would have, you know, like the Saturday matinee. [00:18:55] Speaker A: Right? [00:18:56] Speaker C: I watched many a Saturday matinee with my dad. Don't remember what any of them were, but I remember watching them. [00:19:01] Speaker B: Much like reading spawn. I read a lot, but I don't remember them. So yet again, in scorch number four, we have the script plot by Sean Lewis, with additional script by Todd McFarland. I have a theory about which line specifically was additional script art by the great. [00:19:20] Speaker A: Steven Segovia. [00:19:22] Speaker C: Excellent work as always, knocking it out of the park. [00:19:26] Speaker B: Ulysses areola on colors. [00:19:28] Speaker A: And, of course, Bjorn Baron's doing the COVID We got. [00:19:33] Speaker C: We got a different letterer this time. We don't have old Tom O doing the letters for this, so it's.
