[00:00:00] Speaker A: I suggest you say goodbye to your friends. I'm gonna need you for a little while. And where we're going, most of them wouldn't survive anyway.
[00:00:08] Speaker B: Hell, we might not either.
[00:00:41] Speaker A: Good evening, and welcome to the Malibol. This is regarding Spawn, the world's best spawn podcast.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: I'm your co host, John Fisher.
[00:00:52] Speaker C: And I'm your co host, David Williams. And Johnny.
[00:00:55] Speaker B: Johnny.
It's starting to look a little bit like autumn. It is.
[00:01:02] Speaker A: It feels like it too.
[00:01:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:04] Speaker C: No, yesterday the high was nice degrees. It was nice degrees outside.
[00:01:10] Speaker B: Very exciting.
[00:01:10] Speaker A: It's nice. Had the windows open. It was great.
[00:01:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
Oh, boy.
When you open the door to take all the dogs outside, usually you're stepping into much less ideal conditions than inside the house. But yesterday, it was like, why do I have to go back in? It feels so nice going outside.
Feel gross today, but no.
[00:01:38] Speaker B: Yeah, it's wonderful.
[00:01:40] Speaker C: And the pumpkin spice lates are flowing. They're back.
[00:01:44] Speaker A: I got to get one. I know. I'm a basic bitch, man.
[00:01:48] Speaker C: Well, I mean, like, that first really cool, really cool day where it's, like, overcast all day and maybe it threatens to rain a little bit. I'm like, I have to get a pumpkin spice late and just spend all day at Panera bread.
[00:02:03] Speaker A: Have to.
[00:02:04] Speaker C: You have to. It's a requirement. Maybe listen to some 90s alternative rock and stare out the window dreamily.
[00:02:13] Speaker A: Maybe bring a dream away.
[00:02:15] Speaker C: Bring a notebook and a pen and not really write anything. Just like performatively write.
[00:02:21] Speaker B: Oh, it's wonder.
[00:02:22] Speaker A: Just have it there.
[00:02:23] Speaker B: Make some lists. So good.
[00:02:25] Speaker C: So good. It's the best time of the year, Johnny.
[00:02:28] Speaker B: Yes, it is.
[00:02:29] Speaker A: Welcome, everyone. Welcome to regarding spawn.
[00:02:32] Speaker C: Hiya.
[00:02:33] Speaker B: Where each week we do two issues.
[00:02:36] Speaker A: We cover two issues from Spawn's universe.
[00:02:38] Speaker B: Except when we don't. That's true. But this week we are doing two issues, and we've got a regular classic.
[00:02:50] Speaker A: Issue of mainline spawn all the way back from February 2021. So a nice year into the pandemic there.
[00:02:59] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:03:00] Speaker A: And then our more modern is Kingspawn 24, just from a few months ago, July 2023. As of this record, of course, you may be listening to this at any time.
[00:03:10] Speaker B: This could be ten years in the future.
[00:03:13] Speaker A: It could be next fall.
You could be listening to this in the winter.
[00:03:17] Speaker C: It could be the only recovered piece of information after the apocalyptic war that kills 90% of the world's population.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: Can you imagine, Johnny, this episode, this is a big responsibility.
[00:03:30] Speaker C: Just this one episode.
[00:03:31] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, man.
[00:03:32] Speaker C: Johnny, we're going to have to go over this surgically it'll be even more important than what was put on the Voyager golden disc.
[00:03:40] Speaker B: I know.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:03:44] Speaker B: Hello.
[00:03:45] Speaker A: Be nice to everybody.
[00:03:47] Speaker C: Is that good? Don't drink that water. Straight from the puddle you found it in.
[00:03:53] Speaker A: Watch out where the Huskies go. And don't you eat that yellow snow.
That's the only piece of advice I can think of. Those are three. That's pretty much all you need.
[00:04:01] Speaker C: That mushroom. Maybe just don't eat that mushroom.
[00:04:04] Speaker B: Don't eat them. Or maybe do it. Unless, you know what? You're.
[00:04:12] Speaker A: Just, like, the aliens or people that find this later are just like, wow, man, spawn must have been the shit. They had a show about it, Johnny.
[00:04:20] Speaker C: That means that there's the potential for this to be the new holy text. And Albert Simmons is our savior, our lord. And.
[00:04:31] Speaker A: Retroactively, they find all the old covers. They have all the stained glass. They start making, like, churches again with stained glass, but it's all spawn.
[00:04:42] Speaker C: And then if the Green Lantern Corps were real, they would go to a distant galaxy, a distant sector, I guess, in their parlance. And it's just everybody worships the spawn. And it's like, what the hell? What's going on here? That would be great.
[00:04:58] Speaker B: That would be great.
[00:04:59] Speaker C: We're taking the toddfather.
[00:05:01] Speaker B: Intergalactic.
Intergalactic, Johnny.
[00:05:04] Speaker C: It's up to us.
He's the energy and the showman and the trying to do all of it. But we got to get him that.
[00:05:14] Speaker B: Reach that he can't get on his own.
[00:05:16] Speaker A: To the stars.
[00:05:17] Speaker C: To the stars, Ed S. To the stars.
[00:05:19] Speaker A: Into the future.
[00:05:23] Speaker B: But in our future, I see some.
[00:05:26] Speaker A: Issues with spawn coming into view.
[00:05:29] Speaker C: I'm not going to lie, Johnny. That's all I see when I see the future is just like a reading montage from an 80s movie. Where just the stack of Comics just gets bigger.
And it's like stop motion animation. Where it's, like, just successive pictures of an additional comic put on the stack.
[00:05:49] Speaker B: And then the stacks multiply.
[00:05:52] Speaker C: My goal is to end up having my rooms. That I'm allowed to have in the house.
Be like the warehouse at the end.
[00:06:02] Speaker B: Of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
[00:06:06] Speaker C: Only instead of just crates of holy and fantastical objects, it's crates of spawn.
[00:06:14] Speaker A: It's all spawn.
[00:06:15] Speaker B: It's all spawn.
[00:06:17] Speaker A: And then someone would see it all locked up in boxes. And just like, indiana Jones would be like, they don't even know what they have.
[00:06:24] Speaker C: It would be like, hey, yeah, actually, you're right.
[00:06:26] Speaker B: I don't know what I have.
[00:06:28] Speaker C: All I know is that it's Spawn.
[00:06:30] Speaker B: And that it's good.
[00:06:31] Speaker C: And Johnny, I think I would name that the fun warehouse. Because I don't know if you know.
[00:06:38] Speaker B: This or not, but spawn is fun.
[00:06:41] Speaker A: Spawn is fun. Both these issues are pretty fun.
[00:06:45] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:06:45] Speaker A: They are, like, fight centric issues, but.
[00:06:48] Speaker B: Like, big showdowns that are a hoot.
[00:06:51] Speaker A: We have to start, as always, with the covers. And we're doing 315 1st. But I'm just flabbergasted, David, because I was pulling up cover price.
[00:07:02] Speaker B: And it has a blue key next to it. This is a key issue.
[00:07:09] Speaker A: Key issue, key issue.
[00:07:11] Speaker C: It's a key shoe.
[00:07:16] Speaker A: A cashew.
[00:07:18] Speaker B: It is the first cameo appearance of Plague Swan. Hell, yeah. So, boom.
[00:07:26] Speaker A: Now we know this is where he comes from.
[00:07:29] Speaker B: So we know this is the beginning of Spawn. It's Johnny.
[00:07:34] Speaker C: The pandemic started here in the issues.
[00:07:39] Speaker A: What inspired that?
[00:07:41] Speaker C: It was so powerful that plague spawn slipped back in time and then caused.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: It did.
[00:07:50] Speaker C: That's some coliostra shit right there.
[00:07:53] Speaker A: So I've got a floppy issue. How are you reading this, David?
[00:07:56] Speaker C: I am reading it in the trade paperback Spawn Omega and Johnny.
This is the last issue of this.
[00:08:05] Speaker B: Trade paperback, which means.
[00:08:08] Speaker C: And they still haven't put out the next set of trade paperbacks.
[00:08:12] Speaker B: And I am not as good of a spawn boy as you are and.
[00:08:18] Speaker C: Have not bought all the back issues.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: So.
[00:08:24] Speaker C: 316 to, like, 322. Looking real iffy for co host David over here.
[00:08:30] Speaker B: I'm going to have to create digitally.
[00:08:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:34] Speaker C: I think you even suggested hoopla. I think that's what I'm going to have to try.
[00:08:39] Speaker B: I haven't looked to see if it's.
[00:08:42] Speaker C: Available via hoopla, but I might have to buy a whole bunch of digital issues. Oh, darn. More spawn. How dare I?
[00:08:50] Speaker A: Oh, no.
Yeah, because I can't remember when I started buying them, but it was, like, around 320 somewhere.
[00:08:58] Speaker C: I think 322 was the first one I bought. Either that or, like, 326. And then they had back to 322.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: On the standstill that I could buy.
[00:09:07] Speaker A: Yes, I did buy some that were, like, earlier, after I bought the first new one. I mean, these prices, it's 299. You can't afford to.
[00:09:15] Speaker C: Yeah, literally.
That's pocket change.
You get that in change in the.
[00:09:24] Speaker B: Three cash transactions you have in a week now.
Yeah, he's got to keep your pocket.
[00:09:33] Speaker A: Go.
[00:09:33] Speaker B: Uh.
[00:09:33] Speaker C: I go to the shop on the.
[00:09:35] Speaker B: Corner twice to buy fries for Wanda.
[00:09:39] Speaker C: That's spawn money that I got left over.
[00:09:43] Speaker B: Because if you go to the fry.
[00:09:44] Speaker C: Place on the corner and pay in.
[00:09:46] Speaker B: Cash, you don't have to hit the.
[00:09:47] Speaker C: Minimum, because most of the time to hit the minimum.
[00:09:50] Speaker B: Instead of giving you the larger serving.
[00:09:53] Speaker C: Of fries, they just give you the small serving of fries and charge you the larger portion price.
[00:09:57] Speaker B: And boo to that. It's real.
[00:10:00] Speaker C: It's a real sad state of affairs, Johnny.
[00:10:02] Speaker B: Well, what else is money is this cover?
Well, Johnny, my notes are telling me.
[00:10:09] Speaker C: There'S more than one cover. You're going to have to be a little more specific than that.
[00:10:11] Speaker A: Okay. The one I'm looking at when I have.
[00:10:14] Speaker C: Well, which one is that?
[00:10:15] Speaker B: Johnny? The Bjorn Baron.
[00:10:17] Speaker A: She spawn cover.
[00:10:18] Speaker C: The she who is spawn.
[00:10:20] Speaker A: The she who is spawn.
[00:10:21] Speaker B: And she's just like, in like a future war, there's like dead people and she's just shooting.
[00:10:29] Speaker C: She's shooting the body on the ground in the head to make sure it's dead.
[00:10:33] Speaker B: It's great without looking at it.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: Love that.
[00:10:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:38] Speaker C: Jessica Priest is so cool, Johnny. It's a great cover.
[00:10:41] Speaker B: It's a great cover.
[00:10:42] Speaker A: It's awesome.
Love those Bjorn barons.
But yes, there are multiple covers and there's two other images, but then they have some variants.
We've got our budy Steven Segovia did one.
[00:11:00] Speaker C: Oh, nice.
[00:11:02] Speaker A: It's a clown in the background, and we got spawn there.
[00:11:05] Speaker B: Some Bats, nice and clean.
[00:11:08] Speaker A: Classic Steven Segovia work there.
[00:11:10] Speaker B: That's real nice.
[00:11:11] Speaker C: I like the motion that that chain's got on it is real nice.
[00:11:18] Speaker A: And then the other cover is a Greg Capullo and Tod McFarland.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: This is the b cover, and it has spawn gargoyling.
[00:11:27] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:11:28] Speaker A: And the other two covers, just a variance on that. There's a black and white version, and then there is a pencils only version.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:11:35] Speaker C: I'm looking at the pencils only right now. And it's little I enjoy more in spawn than seeing a Greg Capullo pencils page.
The final product is still amazing, but looking back at these pencils, he does good work. Greg Capoulo, it's meatball head spawn, too.
[00:11:54] Speaker B: So that makes it extra good.
[00:11:57] Speaker A: It's always nice to get that with Greg Capoulo. He loves meatball head.
[00:12:00] Speaker B: I feel like, yeah, he does.
[00:12:03] Speaker C: Like, 90% of his spawn is meatball head.
[00:12:07] Speaker A: I feel like, yeah, he definitely uses a lot more than other people.
[00:12:10] Speaker B: The website that I'm looking at these.
[00:12:14] Speaker A: At, cover price list prices, and they're all about COVID price. They're all about three to $5. So you can get this issue pretty easily. It appears the only one that'll set you back a little bit is that pencils? Only one. Goes for about 75.
[00:12:29] Speaker C: Does it say if it was, like, a ratio variant or, like, a limited.
[00:12:33] Speaker A: It doesn't have a ratio thing on there, so usually it says it, so I don't know.
[00:12:36] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:12:37] Speaker A: One to 50.
[00:12:38] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:12:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Nice.
[00:12:40] Speaker C: That's not bad at all.
[00:12:41] Speaker B: Yeah. One to 50.
[00:12:43] Speaker A: So what does that mean? They have to order 50 and they get one?
[00:12:48] Speaker C: Yeah, I think that's how it breaks down.
[00:12:52] Speaker A: If a shop orders 50, they get one of those.
[00:12:55] Speaker C: Either that or, like, one out of.
[00:12:57] Speaker B: Every 50 covers is likely to be that variant.
Okay.
[00:13:04] Speaker C: I don't know, Johnny. I don't know if we've covered this in a while, but the whole business of comic books makes zero sense to me.
[00:13:14] Speaker A: I don't understand it.
[00:13:15] Speaker C: It's so fragilely put together. I don't understand how it's weathered be, what, like, hundred years of its existence?
[00:13:24] Speaker B: It's wild. Yeah, I don't know either. I really don't, because you're talking, like.
[00:13:31] Speaker A: The margins on it got to be, like, razor thin.
[00:13:33] Speaker C: Yeah, razor thin. And the understanding of ordering of.
So, like, the solicitations and then the ordering and the cutoff dates for those so far in advance.
[00:13:48] Speaker B: And.
[00:13:51] Speaker C: Not only the printers, but the actual distribution services.
And then DC now uses their own distribution service, which is why they release things on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.
It makes my head spin just thinking about it, Johnny.
[00:14:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:14:11] Speaker C: You got to have, like, a phd in logistics to even sell one comic book.
[00:14:18] Speaker A: I'll have to ask about the variance thing. I'll ask the challengers.
[00:14:20] Speaker B: I'm just curious.
Yeah.
[00:14:25] Speaker C: We'Ve discussed it before, but I.
[00:14:27] Speaker B: Don'T think we've ever needled down on it.
Yeah, knuckled down, needled down, knuckled down, boogie down, buckled down.
[00:14:39] Speaker C: We've never done the get down, but we should probably get down to some spawn.
[00:14:44] Speaker B: Johnny, some brass tacks.
[00:14:46] Speaker A: So you open up this issue, and we got the credits here, at least. I do.
[00:14:49] Speaker C: I do not. So you're going to have to enlighten me.
[00:14:53] Speaker B: Let me enlighten you.
[00:14:55] Speaker A: We have the script and plot by Todd McFarlane.
[00:14:58] Speaker B: Okay.
Art by Carlo Barberi. Excellent lettering by Tom Warzachowski.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: Of course.
[00:15:06] Speaker B: It goddamn better be. It better be.
[00:15:08] Speaker A: If it's spawn, if it's main spawn.
[00:15:11] Speaker C: If it's not Tom father, it's garbage.
[00:15:15] Speaker B: That's not true. But that's not true. That's not true.
[00:15:19] Speaker C: But we stand the Tom father, Tom.
[00:15:21] Speaker A: Father colors doing these awesome colors that have been doing recently as J. David Ramos of course.
[00:15:28] Speaker B: Oh, hell yeah.
Got the COVID artists?
[00:15:32] Speaker A: We already covered them.
Tom McFarland's creative director and editor is Thomas Healy.
[00:15:39] Speaker C: Hell yeah.
[00:15:41] Speaker A: It still doesn't say editor in chief yet. It just says editor.
[00:15:44] Speaker B: So we still can't have that big party yet.
[00:15:48] Speaker C: We know it's coming.
It'll be a nice surprise.
[00:15:51] Speaker A: So previously in Spawn.
Previously, Cult of Omega overkill has been decimated, left for dead, and Spawn has been captured by Omega, who then reveals that he is not the only familiar face on this island prison.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: Oh, nice.
[00:16:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:16:12] Speaker B: Last time Omega punched a hole into overt kill.
[00:16:17] Speaker A: Basically.
[00:16:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:16:20] Speaker C: It's actually discussed in narration in a couple of pages.
[00:16:25] Speaker A: Punched a hole in him and then spawned up on the island. Got a bag over his head, got a weird mask on.
[00:16:33] Speaker B: He's.
[00:16:34] Speaker C: He was like an extra from that Kendrick Lamar video.
They just had him sitting on top.
[00:16:42] Speaker B: Of the shipping container.
Not familiar with that video.
[00:16:49] Speaker C: Oh, well, I don't even remember which song it is, but it's off of damn.
So it might be humble. I think it might be humble, but there's just a whole bunch of guys doing little dances, but they're all wearing hoods.
[00:17:05] Speaker B: It's pretty good. Kendrick Lamar, a good rapperman. Very good rapperman.
[00:17:09] Speaker A: Good rapperman. That is the whitest thing I've ever heard in my life.
[00:17:12] Speaker C: Well, Johnny, surprise of surprises.
I'm probably the whitest guy you've ever met.
[00:17:21] Speaker A: The whitest dudes, you know.
[00:17:23] Speaker C: Oh, boy, oh, boy.
So white that I get surprised when I'm out whited.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: How did you pull that off?
[00:17:33] Speaker C: Were you practicing?
[00:17:38] Speaker A: Rapperman?
[00:17:39] Speaker C: Rapperman, a fine rapperman to you.
[00:17:44] Speaker B: I love it.
[00:17:46] Speaker C: So, Johnny, Johnny, I got to follow up on some controversy.
Controversy? What did you say? You said it was Cult of Omega.
[00:17:53] Speaker B: Finale is what it says in there.
Does it say that?
[00:17:57] Speaker A: It doesn't say.
[00:17:59] Speaker C: Okay, so in my trade paperback at the issue break, it says cult of Omega finale, right? So that's what I'm working with for the issue that I'm reading, however. Yes, on imagecomics.com, it says chain gang part two.
[00:18:14] Speaker B: A new team.
[00:18:16] Speaker A: Chain gang part two.
[00:18:17] Speaker C: Drive me crazy, but will they last? She spawn, gunslinger, spawn, medieval, spawn, the Reaper.
But however. So I scroll down on this page. I'm looking at stuff. It says, related news, and the press release is Spawn 315 will feature Baron Segobia and three highly collectible McFarland art process variants, plus first appearance of the.
[00:18:39] Speaker B: Plague as you do.
[00:18:42] Speaker A: That's correct.
[00:18:42] Speaker B: Just some good stuff. However, it says, spawn 315 begins part.
[00:18:49] Speaker C: Three of the Omega Society storyline.
Spawn, medieval spawn, plague, and monolith take on the gigantic fourth of Omega Spawn, which the description is correct, but this is the fourth issue in the cult of Omega line, not the Omega society.
I think maybe Johnny.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: Johnny, I'm thinking maybe.
[00:19:19] Speaker C: A certain editor maybe figured this out. He was standing in front of his bulletin board, and he had a whole bunch of crazy red lines being like he was that Charlie day meme from the Internet.
And so he figured out the conspiracy of the storylines don't match up, and then discovering that is what promoted him to editor in chief.
[00:19:47] Speaker B: It could happen.
[00:19:48] Speaker C: I got a feeling.
[00:19:49] Speaker B: I got a feeling.
[00:19:50] Speaker C: We need to get Thomas Healy himself on the podcast and ask him about that. So how did you iron out all these storylines? Or is this the only actual evidence we have currently in Spawn of the.
[00:20:05] Speaker B: Mandela effect, where, right, there are two.
[00:20:10] Speaker A: Different versions of 315.
[00:20:13] Speaker C: So there's a timeline in which we both survive to make this podcast and then alternate universes where one of us doesn't survive. Covid. But yet we still, using other people, make the podcast and cover it. So that way.
[00:20:32] Speaker B: Oh, geez, Johnny. That means that for those people in.
[00:20:35] Speaker C: The future, when they find this issue or this episode and use it as the basis of their new intergalactic religion, the father, son, and the holy spawn.
[00:20:50] Speaker B: Which one will they get?
[00:20:51] Speaker A: Will they get this universes or the changing universe?
[00:20:54] Speaker C: Will they get the Chang universe? Will they get the Omega society universe?
[00:20:59] Speaker A: There's too many versions.
[00:21:01] Speaker C: Chang gang. Totally sounds like a group of friends that Mike Mitchell hung out with in high.
[00:21:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:10] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:21:10] Speaker A: Chang gang's kind of goofy.
[00:21:11] Speaker B: I prefer the scorched.
[00:21:14] Speaker C: Could you imagine if. I bet the chain gang was an initial pitch for the name of the scorched. Could you imagine if.
Shit, Johnny, I just realized something.
[00:21:27] Speaker B: What? In the scorched, Javi's the one who gives them their name.
[00:21:33] Speaker C: He gives them their name by writing the word into the.
[00:21:38] Speaker B: Uh huh.
[00:21:39] Speaker C: That motherfucker can't read. He sure as hell can't write.
[00:21:44] Speaker A: What the fuck?
I can't believe we didn't catch that before.
[00:21:49] Speaker C: Well, I mean, we didn't know he.
[00:21:50] Speaker B: Couldn'T read until gunslinger. And I do believe the scorched started.
[00:21:55] Speaker C: Before the gunslinger, and so it was just.
[00:21:58] Speaker B: God damn it, Johnny.
[00:22:03] Speaker C: Sean Lewis, explain yourself.
[00:22:07] Speaker A: Please.
[00:22:08] Speaker C: Come on the show and explain yourself.
[00:22:11] Speaker A: How could Javi read or could he not read? Could he write or could he not write?
[00:22:15] Speaker B: Give me a fucking break here, man.
[00:22:18] Speaker C: All that to say is, I was on the path of imagine if the chain gang is what Javi wrote in the ground.
Flaming letters. He's like, that'll put some fear in.
[00:22:34] Speaker A: It was like, is this, like, a first draft?
[00:22:41] Speaker C: There's, like, some angels be like, I guess they've got chains, but is that what they're going with?
[00:22:49] Speaker B: Really.
[00:22:52] Speaker A: Different versions of this comic exist somewhere.
[00:22:56] Speaker C: Reaper pulls Javi aside, and he's like, are you sure?
That's a lot of syllables. There's a definite article.
[00:23:04] Speaker B: Do you want to just.
[00:23:07] Speaker C: There's too many parts for that.
[00:23:08] Speaker B: It's not snappy enough.
[00:23:10] Speaker C: Did you workshop this?
[00:23:11] Speaker B: I don't think you did.
Drop the.
[00:23:15] Speaker A: It's cleaner.
[00:23:16] Speaker C: And chain gang without the is.
No, et is better.
[00:23:23] Speaker B: That is a good punch up. But still. Chain gang.
Chain gang.
[00:23:28] Speaker C: Also, if you say it fast enough.
[00:23:30] Speaker B: Kind of loses all meaning where.
[00:23:32] Speaker A: Yeah, it does. You say it a lot. Chain gang.
[00:23:34] Speaker B: Chang.
[00:23:34] Speaker A: It just becomes, like noises.
[00:23:37] Speaker C: It's hard to pronounce. Scorched so fast that you lose its.
[00:23:41] Speaker B: Meaning because you got all those hard.
[00:23:43] Speaker C: Consonants up front, so you got to hit them scorched. Well, the scorched chain gang is now Omega societying in the cult of Omega finale, Johnny.
So we should see what this actually.
[00:23:56] Speaker A: Happens in here, if the Chain gang does show up or not.
[00:23:59] Speaker B: Yeah, spoiler alert, they don't.
[00:24:04] Speaker C: I don't know, Johnny. With the potential existence of all of these varying comic books, one of us might have a different story than the other.
[00:24:15] Speaker B: So, listeners, maybe you should see.
[00:24:20] Speaker C: Listen along, see if we find any differences.
[00:24:23] Speaker B: So we open up seconds after we left off last issue, where medieval was.
[00:24:28] Speaker A: Flying through the air about to stab.
[00:24:31] Speaker B: Ah.
[00:24:31] Speaker C: He had already stabbed Omega once.
[00:24:34] Speaker A: Already stabbed him in the leg.
[00:24:35] Speaker C: And he stabbed him in the leg. And so he's coming at him with his second sword. So, Johnny, I didn't realize that Omega had two swords or not.
[00:24:42] Speaker B: Omega that medieval had two swords. Yeah.
[00:24:46] Speaker A: One was probably, like a smaller sword, and he's got a bigger sword. I can see that.
[00:24:50] Speaker C: The other one's the sword he just keeps in his boot.
[00:24:53] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like a boot sword.
[00:24:55] Speaker C: It's like a Tardis in there.
[00:24:56] Speaker B: It's just like he could put this.
[00:24:58] Speaker C: Sword that's bigger than his boot into his boot.
Medieval takes off his boot, and it looks like the inside of Javi's hat. It's just got knives all around. Only swords. It's just got swords.
[00:25:10] Speaker A: Swords lining the inside of his.
[00:25:17] Speaker C: Was a. He was a whipping boy for the church during medieval times. Johnny. He definitely has intentionally uncomfortable pieces of armor.
[00:25:27] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, because he has that weird.
[00:25:31] Speaker A: Guy on, that weird pale monk on da Vinci code.
[00:25:34] Speaker C: Yeah, or the monks who beat themselves with the boards in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
[00:25:41] Speaker A: Or Mel Gibson.
There are rumors he's part of like a crazy sex of Catholics that do shit like that.
[00:25:52] Speaker C: You can't make such good jokes while.
[00:25:54] Speaker B: I'm trying to drink a glass of water, Johnny. Oh, sorry.
[00:25:57] Speaker A: I know there are rumors that he's part of some crazy catholic cult. Oh, speaking of El Gibson, you watched dragged across concrete?
[00:26:03] Speaker B: Yes, I did. And it was uncomfortable.
[00:26:09] Speaker A: It's a bleak movie.
[00:26:10] Speaker C: It was like much like Midsummer was for crazy ridiculous cults that you're probably never going to actually see.
It hit much closer to home. So it was like.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: An urban version of Midsummer. And man, I could see that it was good.
[00:26:36] Speaker C: I enjoyed it.
[00:26:37] Speaker A: Descent into hell.
[00:26:38] Speaker C: Yeah, I enjoyed the hell out of it.
[00:26:42] Speaker A: And I was reading, it's got some just like. Yeah, it's just interesting movie.
[00:26:46] Speaker C: I was reading up on some stuff of it afterwards and apparently some right wing pundits championed it as a movie that holds conservative ideals up.
But they obviously weren't paying attention because the two super racist right or conservative cop guys are idiots.
They die every single step of the way. They're so confident about stuff and then they prove themselves to have been dumb because Mel Gibson's character spends the whole time talking about how confident he is and stuff. And he's always wrong. Every time he gives a percentage, he's just always wrong. The only thing he's reasonably accurate on.
[00:27:35] Speaker B: Is that there's a 75% chance that.
[00:27:38] Speaker C: The lady at the beginning has a gun.
[00:27:40] Speaker B: And then from there, all of his.
[00:27:43] Speaker C: Predictions about his surety of what's going.
[00:27:47] Speaker B: To happen just is hilarious.
[00:27:50] Speaker A: I never thought about that.
[00:27:51] Speaker B: It's hilarious.
[00:27:56] Speaker C: And Vince Vaughn is so convinced that his girlfriend loves him so much.
[00:28:03] Speaker B: And then it's just like, oh, that's.
[00:28:05] Speaker C: Not the answer I expected.
[00:28:11] Speaker A: I like gray gloves and black gloves. They're scary.
[00:28:14] Speaker C: Oh, that's was, that was the truly terrifying part for me. Because they're fucking chaos agents.
[00:28:20] Speaker A: Yeah, they're just like demons.
[00:28:23] Speaker C: You can't trust a goddamn thing they say.
Like, their promises mean nothing because they don't care.
[00:28:30] Speaker A: Yeah, that bank scene is cool. Amazing. Like, just like scary.
[00:28:35] Speaker B: And I can't believe it's taken us.
[00:28:38] Speaker C: This long into our second instance of talking about this goddamn movie, John.
[00:28:42] Speaker A: Oh, I know.
[00:28:42] Speaker B: Here we go. It stars or co stars our boy Michael J.
[00:28:48] Speaker C: White, Albert Simmons.
[00:28:50] Speaker A: Bon himself.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: Albert Simmons.
[00:28:52] Speaker C: That means, Johnny, that we might be able to get a sequel, a spawn sequel written and directed by S. Craig Zaylor. How awesome.
[00:29:01] Speaker A: Yeah, maybe they were, like, hanging out and talking to each other.
[00:29:04] Speaker C: How fucking awesome would that be?
[00:29:06] Speaker B: Holy shit.
[00:29:06] Speaker C: It would be the most brutal spawn ever conceived.
[00:29:10] Speaker B: Hellspawn would be like a children's book.
[00:29:15] Speaker C: Compared to an S. Craig Zaylor spawn movie.
[00:29:18] Speaker B: They could call it hell Spawn. He could call it.
[00:29:20] Speaker A: Yeah, it'd be like the Dark Knight. It's like, after there's a spawn movie, and they would make, like, five of them, and they got to reboote it. They got to reboot it as darker and gritty.
[00:29:29] Speaker C: So you're saying we have to wait for the controversy around spawn nipples first, though?
[00:29:35] Speaker A: Yes, we have to get to the point where Spawn has nipples.
We are at that point.
[00:29:39] Speaker B: Let me state right now, I am.
[00:29:42] Speaker C: Pro a movie with spawn nipple.
If we were able to get Joel Schumacher to do wild nonsense in the spawn universe, I'd be here for it. We get Arnold Schwarzenegger as clown just making circus puns instead of being clowny.
[00:30:05] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm trying to think of one. I can't.
[00:30:07] Speaker C: I'm trying to think of one based around big top. Like, I'll show you my big top.
[00:30:13] Speaker B: Just shoot somebody.
[00:30:15] Speaker A: I'll show you my big top.
315 would definitely more flavor towards Joel Schumacher than S. Craig Zaler.
[00:30:26] Speaker C: Oh, yes.
There's literally Joel Schumacher venom in this because we got green, gooey necroplasm shooting everywhere.
[00:30:40] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:30:41] Speaker A: This whole time.
[00:30:43] Speaker C: Did we even actually start with what's happening? I don't think we did.
[00:30:46] Speaker A: No, we didn't.
We said, he's here. Evil Spawn is here. Stabbing Omega in the eye.
[00:30:53] Speaker C: Like, right in the eye.
[00:30:54] Speaker B: I think, johnny, I think we can.
[00:30:56] Speaker C: Actually declare that as a round eye of surprise on Omega Spawn.
[00:31:02] Speaker A: He looks surprised, that's for sure.
[00:31:04] Speaker C: So it's hard to tell because half of his eye is obscured by sword.
[00:31:08] Speaker B: But I think it counts. I think it counts.
[00:31:14] Speaker A: So, yes, he jumps in the air.
[00:31:16] Speaker B: And stabs him, and he cuts the second page, and he's just, like, kind.
[00:31:23] Speaker A: Of falling off from jumping. And the sword is stuck in Omega's eye.
[00:31:28] Speaker C: Yeah. And it's like Omega's slowly falling backward.
[00:31:31] Speaker B: Omega was arrogant.
[00:31:33] Speaker C: He thought that, having captured Al Simmons, that nobody would have the huevos to.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: Take him on, but he thought, wrong, Johnny.
[00:31:45] Speaker A: Medieval spawn's got those huevos.
[00:31:47] Speaker C: Yes, he does.
[00:31:49] Speaker A: He got spawn in the background there, still captured.
[00:31:52] Speaker C: Yeah, with his little hood on.
He's got a big left foot.
[00:31:56] Speaker B: Right now, johnny, because it's still stuck.
[00:31:58] Speaker C: In one of those containment pods.
When Omega finally hits the ground, he.
[00:32:03] Speaker B: Just shakes it so it's like an.
[00:32:07] Speaker C: Explosion has gone off.
[00:32:08] Speaker B: Johnny.
[00:32:09] Speaker A: Simultaneously.
[00:32:11] Speaker C: Yeah, whatever you are, you're dead. And Omega spawns like, I've already died.
Got a. We learned that medieval has sword recall, so it's just.
[00:32:27] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:32:27] Speaker A: He sucks the sword back.
[00:32:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:32:30] Speaker A: He says, like, do it, slave. You where I stand, spawn, to your feet now.
[00:32:35] Speaker C: Says, I thought I killed you. And medieval says, so did I. We'll talk about that later.
He's like, put a pin in that. We'll put that in the next episode.
We'll do a whole thing with it. So then Omega just furiously fires huge slabs of debris at them.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: But he, like, fires slabs of debris that he forms spikes on at the same time.
[00:33:00] Speaker C: So it's like he's trying to make a spawn golem that's Kaiju sized. And he was making the wrist wraps.
[00:33:12] Speaker B: With the spikes on them from rock.
[00:33:16] Speaker C: And he just gets so fed up that he starts throwing those because he's like this stupid fucking thing keeps falling apart.
[00:33:23] Speaker A: Stab me in the eye.
[00:33:28] Speaker C: He's rage quitting right now is what he's doing.
And so medieval anchors his sword into the ground so that way Al Simmons can hold onto it without flying away during the vacuum wind that omega creates.
[00:33:46] Speaker B: Yeah, he creates this great.
[00:33:48] Speaker A: I love this sequence. He creates this great, like, vortex here that they're stuck in.
[00:33:51] Speaker C: It's like Twister.
[00:33:52] Speaker A: They do a full.
[00:33:54] Speaker C: Al Simmons is.
Al Simmons has belted himself to that pipe in the fucking barn.
[00:34:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:06] Speaker A: Al Simmons is basically Bill Paxton here. And medieval's Helen hunt.
[00:34:11] Speaker B: Nice. Yeah.
[00:34:13] Speaker C: And sadly, there are no cows. That would be hilarious if a cow came.
[00:34:18] Speaker A: An omega island cow.
[00:34:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I guess the cows of Omega Twister. Yeah, I saw that currently.
Are they trying to presume it's the same. It's the exact same twister.
[00:34:34] Speaker B: It's the same twister. He's coming back.
[00:34:36] Speaker C: Ridiculous.
[00:34:37] Speaker A: That'd be funny. No, it's going to be too realistic because of climate change.
[00:34:43] Speaker B: Yeah, unfortunately. Oh, I guess it'll be in an.
[00:34:46] Speaker C: Urban setting now because it used to be.
[00:34:48] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what they could. Yeah, there's, like, twisters coming to Chicago and stuff.
[00:34:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:51] Speaker C: Because the lore used to be large cities were safe from tornadoes because the large buildings disrupted the air patterns enough that the funnels couldn't form.
[00:35:01] Speaker B: But that's false.
[00:35:06] Speaker C: The fact that Oklahoma weather followed me from Oklahoma to Chicago pisses me off more than anything.
[00:35:13] Speaker A: Why? Hey, we all helped us and all of our.
[00:35:19] Speaker C: As soon as. As soon as tornado shit actually starts happening, I always text my friends, and.
[00:35:23] Speaker B: I'm like, guys, Oklahoma got drunk and.
[00:35:27] Speaker C: Let its weather wander again. You got to come get it and bring it back.
[00:35:32] Speaker A: Come wrangle it back in.
They're trying to wrangle themselves, like, while they're stuck in this whirlwind.
[00:35:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:35:41] Speaker C: A medieval is moving away from the safety of the sword, and he's trying to dig into the ground, but he's slowly, slowly flying away in the whirlwind.
[00:35:55] Speaker B: And then he loses his grip on the ground.
[00:35:57] Speaker A: He's literally going to eat them.
[00:35:58] Speaker B: Yeah, that's pretty funny.
[00:36:01] Speaker C: Let me feast on the two of you. And then as medieval loses his grip and flies past spawn, Spawn does the good action action movie.
[00:36:09] Speaker A: Grabs him by the hand just the last possible second.
[00:36:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:13] Speaker C: And then medieval says, release me.
[00:36:16] Speaker B: It's your only chance.
[00:36:18] Speaker C: Man. They really missed a golden opportunity to.
[00:36:21] Speaker B: Have medieval say, feast.
[00:36:23] Speaker C: I'll give you a feast.
As he flies right toward Omega, he cannonballs up.
[00:36:31] Speaker B: So.
[00:36:35] Speaker A: He basically does, like, a flip.
[00:36:37] Speaker C: Basically a ball, and then uses his cape to cover Omega's face.
[00:36:41] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:36:42] Speaker A: That's hilarious. And it goes, in battle of war, if you're losing to an enemy that's only half blind, there's only one more move left.
[00:36:51] Speaker B: Blind him completely. Yeah.
[00:36:54] Speaker A: Puts his cape over his eyes by, like, hooking it on his teeth.
[00:36:59] Speaker C: It's kind of like a backwards version of the classic 80s super wedgie where it comes all the way up and over the face.
[00:37:06] Speaker A: Yes, exactly.
[00:37:13] Speaker C: So Omega is now just thrashing around like Godzilla that's gotten some goop spat into its face by another kaiju.
[00:37:21] Speaker A: Can't see.
[00:37:22] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:37:24] Speaker C: And then Spawn lets go to catch the tail end of the whirlwind and fucking Wolverine out to.
[00:37:32] Speaker A: Or he kind of looks like plague Spawn a little bit, too.
[00:37:35] Speaker C: Yeah, he just shunks some real nasty spikes right into Omega's chest.
[00:37:41] Speaker B: Omega. Omega falls down and gets back up.
[00:37:44] Speaker C: And rips the cape off of his face.
[00:37:47] Speaker A: He says, you failed, just like Kagliostro.
[00:37:51] Speaker C: And I like how calm medieval looks. As Omega is smashing him towards the ground by his cape.
[00:38:01] Speaker B: He's just like, oh, I guess this.
[00:38:04] Speaker C: Is my life now.
[00:38:06] Speaker A: He just, like, submits. He's like, okay.
[00:38:09] Speaker C: He smashes him right into Al.
And medieval is like, we got to tactically retreat.
[00:38:15] Speaker B: Al says, nope, can't do that. And then from behind Omega, we see Al's backup plan.
And it's monolith.
[00:38:26] Speaker C: It's somebody who we thought was not Spawn's friend Johnny.
[00:38:32] Speaker A: Right. But we learned that that hour that they walked onto Ocean's floor, they became chums.
[00:38:37] Speaker C: Yeah. And though it cost them the life of overt kill, Spawn began to bond with monolith the moment they went into the ocean.
[00:38:43] Speaker A: What do you think they talked about?
[00:38:45] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:38:46] Speaker A: Under the ocean, they're just like, oh.
[00:38:51] Speaker B: First.
[00:38:52] Speaker C: The first question has to be, so I sold my soul to see Wanda again. What did you do?
[00:38:58] Speaker A: Yeah, what are you in, like? Well, I'm actually an alien from another planet.
We find out later in scorch. So he has, like, a wife named.
[00:39:09] Speaker B: Like, Uba Dubai alien name.
[00:39:16] Speaker C: Since his name is Monolith, it would be something maybe kind of like that. Maybe scenic. Maybe scenic background is her name.
Or, like, mauve Sunset. Maybe that's his wife's name. Mauve sunset.
[00:39:34] Speaker B: Oh, wow.
[00:39:36] Speaker C: Or maybe it's just Anne.
[00:39:42] Speaker A: Monolith's wife's name's like, yeah, Karen.
[00:39:50] Speaker C: And that's how Monolith died.
[00:39:53] Speaker B: His.
[00:39:53] Speaker C: His wife was complaining about the service at a restaurant, and the server just snapped and went after her. And Monolith put himself between them, got stabbed right in the heart with a ballpoint pen.
But then we also learned that the two of them hatched a plan while they were breathing underwater for that hour.
[00:40:16] Speaker A: And that one last spawn whispered to.
[00:40:18] Speaker C: Him, one final instruction is all they needed to set their plan in motion.
[00:40:24] Speaker A: Godfather fucking loves that trope.
[00:40:27] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:40:29] Speaker A: Of, like, people having a plan that someone else doesn't know about, and he gives a whisper, and then they, like, help.
[00:40:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
Loves that shit.
[00:40:36] Speaker C: It's also that classic. Okay. You got to make it look good. You got to make it convincing.
[00:40:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Monolith played part to chain.
[00:40:49] Speaker B: Yeah, those are some beefy chains. Oh. I said Monolith played his part to perfection.
[00:40:53] Speaker C: Says so right there.
[00:40:55] Speaker B: It's right in the book.
[00:40:56] Speaker C: Right in the book of Spawn.
Angelo father himself, the monolith played his part to perfection.
We're going to make the King James version of this. 315.
[00:41:07] Speaker B: Johnny.
[00:41:07] Speaker A: It's an important foundational space. Yeah. It's going to be the only podcast that exists, so we got to make sure it matters.
[00:41:15] Speaker C: We're going to have to start updating ourselves to the galaxy's best spawn podcast.
[00:41:21] Speaker A: I mean, that's probably true too.
[00:41:24] Speaker C: I don't know. I don't know. It depends on how enamored are alien visitors who have already come by.
[00:41:34] Speaker A: Because we know they've come by.
[00:41:35] Speaker C: We know it's impossible to presume that.
[00:41:38] Speaker B: We are the only beings is in the universe capable of being and thinking.
[00:41:46] Speaker C: And it's also just ludicrously naive to believe that we have never been visited by other individuals.
[00:41:52] Speaker A: I think so literally all that whistleblowing that was going on this summer.
[00:41:56] Speaker C: Yeah, we're literally just a garbage pile. So that's the reason that we don't regularly see visitors, because they're just like.
[00:42:04] Speaker B: Oh, no, don't go there.
[00:42:06] Speaker A: No, stay away from that place.
[00:42:09] Speaker C: It's like when my Uber driver, the app sends him down Madison Avenue. Yeah, Madison Avenue instead of any of the other east west streets.
[00:42:20] Speaker B: And I'm like, nah, dude, dude, you.
[00:42:23] Speaker C: Don'T want to go on Madison. Trust me on this.
I mean, unless you just want to pull over to the sidewalk and buy weed. People are just openly selling weed on Madison Avenue.
[00:42:36] Speaker B: Johnny wow.
[00:42:39] Speaker A: Openly, like with signs and stuff?
[00:42:41] Speaker C: Yeah, they got like their little baggies that they're holding in the air. And like every 10ft there's another group of people. So then it's like you show up and who do you buy it from? Which one do you choose?
[00:42:51] Speaker B: Johnny Wow. I don't know.
[00:42:53] Speaker A: You got to shop around, check the prices out.
[00:42:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:42:58] Speaker A: That'S like what it's like in Tulsa where they have all those weed stores like every two.
[00:43:04] Speaker C: In Muskogee, much.
[00:43:06] Speaker B: Like we have Starbucks here, they have dispensaries in Muskogee. Right?
[00:43:12] Speaker C: Like as soon as a restaurant or a shop closes, you know, a dispensary is opening within three weeks in there. It's like that episode of the Simpsons where Bart goes to the mall to get his Ear pierced and they're like, you better hurry up. This is going to be a Starbucks in 2 hours.
He walks out of the piercing salon with his earring and a Starbucks.
[00:43:34] Speaker B: And the whole mall is Starbucks. Monolith.
[00:43:37] Speaker A: Yanks.
Yanks this chain on Omega, who's just.
[00:43:41] Speaker B: Like getting bigger and bigger and he.
[00:43:46] Speaker A: Looks like it hurts him a little bit or pulls him back.
[00:43:49] Speaker C: I mean, that's the chain gangst part of this episode, Johnny that is the.
[00:43:53] Speaker B: Chain gangiest part, man. The chain, chain, chain.
[00:43:59] Speaker A: He starts swinging around.
[00:44:03] Speaker B: He's doing what Omega did to medieval to Omega.
[00:44:08] Speaker C: But like any slave, you do what you need to survive. You bide time until a clear path presents itself. And then you claim what is rightfully yours.
[00:44:16] Speaker B: You claim your freedom, Johnny, and rejoice.
[00:44:19] Speaker C: You're not alone in your quest.
It's so grand. This might be the soap operaest issue we've covered in a while, Johnny it's great.
[00:44:33] Speaker A: Oh, it is a lot of good, chewy narration, but.
[00:44:38] Speaker C: So we are now about halfway through.
[00:44:40] Speaker B: The issue, Johnny, and as anybody who's.
[00:44:43] Speaker C: Ever watched an episode of Power Rangers knows, that once it looks like the Power Rangers are going to defeat the bad guy before the 20 minutes mark, they got to get bigger. Rita repulsa sends out her little and makes Omega start to grow.
[00:45:00] Speaker B: Yes, he's growing. We need him crippled.
[00:45:03] Speaker C: You've got 15 seconds to figure out.
[00:45:05] Speaker B: How to do that.
[00:45:08] Speaker A: I love this whole narration with all the time and stuff. Medieval spawn has fought for 100 years.
[00:45:14] Speaker B: Fought a thousand enemies, and he has.
[00:45:17] Speaker A: Only 15 seconds, but he only needs nine.
I have a feeling he leaps up with the sword and he just chops, fucking chops that hand right off.
[00:45:29] Speaker C: Right off.
[00:45:29] Speaker B: Just lops it.
[00:45:32] Speaker A: His wrist is like as big as medieval. So you got to imagine how big Omega is now.
[00:45:36] Speaker C: It's a big ass hand.
[00:45:38] Speaker B: It's a big ass hand.
[00:45:41] Speaker C: I imagine that monolith probably takes the hand, taxidermies it, and then uses it as a bed so that way he can feel, like, swaddled because nothing on this earth is big enough to swaddle it.
[00:45:53] Speaker A: Also, it's monolith. So he probably just takes and throws it at somebody. He likes hitting people with random body parts, does Johnny. He's like, can I keep this giant hand to throw at somebody later?
[00:46:04] Speaker B: I'm imagining Johnny right now that the.
[00:46:08] Speaker C: Genesis of what made the Todd father very obsessed with specific times.
In 1991, I imagine the Todd father was watching the seminal classic teenage mutant Ninja turtles.
[00:46:23] Speaker B: And at that scene where Raphael is waiting for pizza and he says, pizza.
[00:46:32] Speaker C: Dude'S got 30 seconds. The Todd father laughed so hard at patience is divine, but never pay full.
[00:46:40] Speaker B: Price for late pizza.
[00:46:42] Speaker C: Just laughed his ass off so hard that he was like, I got to use exact times, guys. Pizza dude's got 30 seconds.
[00:46:49] Speaker B: Okay?
[00:46:49] Speaker A: I can't find it.
[00:46:53] Speaker C: Because it's not a building, it's in the ground.
That's what I imagine, Chaddy.
[00:46:59] Speaker B: Okay. Also leap.
[00:47:04] Speaker C: Me. I regularly say pizza dudes got 30 seconds. Just apropos of nothing.
[00:47:12] Speaker A: I watched that movie a lot when I was a kid.
[00:47:14] Speaker C: Oh, boy.
[00:47:14] Speaker B: It was so fucking good. It's a good one. Fucking good.
[00:47:17] Speaker A: I saw it in theaters.
[00:47:20] Speaker B: They showed it at the Logan and.
[00:47:21] Speaker A: I went and saw it.
[00:47:22] Speaker B: It was awesome.
Nice. It's a good movie. Nice.
[00:47:27] Speaker A: The other two are pretty goofy, but.
[00:47:29] Speaker B: I made a funny. The first one.
[00:47:32] Speaker C: The second one's the one I haven't seen as much. Secret of the ooze. Secret of the ooze.
[00:47:37] Speaker A: Yeah, but I watched that a shitload.
[00:47:39] Speaker C: I taped turtles in time off of tv and watched the hell out of that.
[00:47:42] Speaker B: Oh, man. I loved it. Nice.
[00:47:46] Speaker C: Because they sent naked sumo guys back to New York in their place.
[00:47:52] Speaker A: Pretty funny.
[00:47:56] Speaker B: Oh, boy. Oh, boy.
[00:47:59] Speaker C: You dirty rat.
[00:48:00] Speaker B: You killed my brother.
He shouldn't be saying that around Splinter. Yeah, well, that's why April Lanier then says, I bet Splinter loves that one.
[00:48:14] Speaker A: Oh, that's what she says.
[00:48:15] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:48:17] Speaker A: You got this movie down pat.
[00:48:20] Speaker B: Oh, boy.
[00:48:22] Speaker C: Jose Conseiko bat. Please don't tell me you paid money for this. Okay, but anyway, yeah. Monolith trying to tell Al that they should leave. And Al says, not without medieval spawn. And then while they're sitting there talking medieval, or Monolith gets splashed with some of Omega's blood, and it fries half of him. He gets two faced right here, Johnny.
[00:48:46] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:48:47] Speaker A: He's too faced. Or some versions of fan of the opera. I mean, real versions. He's born that way.
[00:48:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:48:54] Speaker C: Are you gatekeeping versions of Phantom of the Opera?
[00:48:58] Speaker A: Fucking 1950s quad reigns where he gets doused with acid?
[00:49:02] Speaker B: Fuck that shit.
[00:49:04] Speaker A: It's like half the story is he gets doused by something. It's like 50 50.
[00:49:11] Speaker C: He was abandoned as a child because he was malformed, which is why he's in the freaking idea.
[00:49:19] Speaker A: But there's about, like, in the movies and in some versions of the story, I don't know, it's probably less than half, like, 30% of the time. He's, like, scarred by acid. It got added into the.
One of the versions did that and just kind of got added into the.
[00:49:35] Speaker B: Lore a little bit. Yeah, well, but not as good as.
[00:49:40] Speaker A: Him just being born that way is the correct way. The way Lady Gaga way.
[00:49:45] Speaker C: You beat me to it, Johnny.
[00:49:47] Speaker A: On the right track, baby. He was born.
[00:49:49] Speaker C: That monolith is. Monolith is down.
He's Aaron eckharted down there.
[00:49:58] Speaker A: He's down. He's crispied.
[00:50:00] Speaker C: And then Al has a grand idea. He's like, we got to stop that blood.
[00:50:06] Speaker B: I need to stop his bleeding, or.
[00:50:07] Speaker C: We'Ll never get out of here. Al's potty mouth continues to go strong.
[00:50:12] Speaker B: Johnny, look at that stressed out, man. He's stressed out.
[00:50:16] Speaker C: Grab his chains and fucking bring him down, Al.
[00:50:20] Speaker B: Come on. Come on. Do it.
[00:50:24] Speaker C: We could hold you to a higher standard than that.
[00:50:27] Speaker B: Medieval grabs the chain, much like, I.
[00:50:31] Speaker C: Guess this is technically, they're now the chain gang because they both pulled the chain.
[00:50:36] Speaker A: They both pulled the chain. Maybe this is where they got the chain gang from maybe.
That's so weird that it says that on the website.
[00:50:46] Speaker C: So fucking weird.
And then Al's just like running around with the. He picks up one of the pods that was on his hand and somehow capture pods. Yeah.
[00:50:59] Speaker B: Somehow turns it into a weapon, it seems.
[00:51:05] Speaker A: So he basically merges the necroplasm with this energy thing to explode it out and kind of.
[00:51:11] Speaker C: So then why didn't in the first place?
[00:51:15] Speaker A: Because he just figured it out. He didn't know.
[00:51:17] Speaker C: Making it up on the fly, it seems.
[00:51:19] Speaker A: Yeah, he's doing it fucking live, David.
[00:51:22] Speaker C: So Omega spawn obviously knows about necroplasm. So why would he try to keep captive a necroplasmic covered based being in something that can very easily be merged with necroplasm?
Omega's a bad, bad guy.
[00:51:41] Speaker A: He's more of a big picture guy, David.
He doesn't think about the minutiae.
[00:51:47] Speaker C: He's like a James Bond villain where he just wants to prove that he's right.
[00:51:53] Speaker A: Exactly. I mean, if he lives on a crazy island, that's kind of James Bond villain.
[00:51:57] Speaker C: He sure does. He did monologue. So that's also pretty James Bondy. So yeah. Al uses it to cauterize the wound. So that way he stops bleeding all over the place and burning his boys up.
[00:52:08] Speaker B: It's a question, Johnny.
[00:52:10] Speaker C: How do they stop an unstoppable force? He will not relent, Johnny. This omega spawn, some more saber rattling Omega's like, ha ha, you can't kill me.
[00:52:20] Speaker A: And triggers a trap which is like this big vibrating noise trap.
[00:52:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:52:25] Speaker C: Then from deep down in the pit that omega was trying to throw spawn into, last issue, there's the pit where cog is. Yeah.
[00:52:36] Speaker B: The sound like sends something out of it.
[00:52:39] Speaker C: And Johnny, this must be what the key issue is talking about, because this.
[00:52:44] Speaker B: Is our, I do believe this is.
[00:52:46] Speaker C: Our first canonical spawn introduction of hexis from Fernga.
[00:52:53] Speaker B: No, look at that.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: That's not Hexis. That's plague spawn.
[00:52:58] Speaker C: That's totally how hexis moved around the forest, though.
[00:53:00] Speaker B: Look at that goop. That's true.
[00:53:03] Speaker C: That's how he dripped into the earth mover machines and took over them.
[00:53:08] Speaker A: No, it's plague spawn plague.
[00:53:11] Speaker B: Look at him.
[00:53:11] Speaker C: He's crawling out of that thing. He's so gooey and nasty and like fiery on the inside. And it says it looks human, but the only human part it has in.
[00:53:22] Speaker B: It is revenge, which is an excellent idea.
[00:53:26] Speaker C: So I guess technically there's some humanity in it, but it's not the good part of humanity.
[00:53:30] Speaker B: I like that we end with a.
[00:53:31] Speaker C: Necroplasm meter that is obviously plague spawns because.
[00:53:37] Speaker B: Right.
[00:53:37] Speaker A: Because it's red.
[00:53:38] Speaker C: Because it's red.
[00:53:39] Speaker B: It's great. Yes.
[00:53:40] Speaker A: 7691. Pretty powerful.
[00:53:42] Speaker C: Yeah, not too bad.
[00:53:43] Speaker B: Not too bad at all. My book is done, Johnny. Mine's not.
Yours isn't?
No.
[00:53:50] Speaker A: We got a spawning ground.
[00:53:51] Speaker B: Oh, do we now?
[00:53:53] Speaker C: What's it do?
[00:53:54] Speaker B: What's spawning and then their ground it.
[00:53:56] Speaker A: Is presenting the breakdown. So it's an interview with Brian Haberlin, who is the.
[00:54:03] Speaker B: He's an artist, colorist, inker, editor, co creator of witchblade. Hello.
Hell yeah.
[00:54:12] Speaker A: But it basically talks about, they're focusing.
[00:54:14] Speaker B: On his coloring, and he talks about.
[00:54:17] Speaker A: Just different colors he's done. There's issue 77 cover where he did the coloring on.
[00:54:21] Speaker B: There's a 181 cover, issue 50 interior.
[00:54:26] Speaker A: Just talks about the colors and how. Talks a little bit about what makes a good colorist.
[00:54:30] Speaker B: How you want to really set a.
[00:54:33] Speaker A: Tone for a book by having a mother color for each scene. And I think J. David Ramos is really good with that.
[00:54:39] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:54:40] Speaker A: And then the color itself lets you know it's a new scene and the motions behind it. And I think that that's pretty cool to hear about.
[00:54:47] Speaker B: But he just talks about his philosophy.
[00:54:50] Speaker A: Of coloring, and he says it's really nice to draw for Greg and to color for Tod and Greg, because the light sources are all there in the line art. And it just makes it a little easier for you.
[00:55:01] Speaker C: You got to feed the mother know every other day if you're actively using it. But if you're putting it into the fridge for storage, you only need to feed it like once a month.
[00:55:09] Speaker B: Johnny, you, mother color sounds like an excellent, excellent, excellent, you mother color.
[00:55:14] Speaker A: Yeah, pretty cool.
If you have this issue worth checking out, just like kind of a little short interview.
[00:55:20] Speaker B: Nice into how the coloring goes.
[00:55:23] Speaker A: And that's cool that Brian Halberlin is.
[00:55:25] Speaker B: So prolific as being a creator of witchblade, artist, inker, colorist, editor.
[00:55:31] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:55:32] Speaker B: Excellent.
[00:55:32] Speaker C: Yeah, it's wonderful listening to people talk about the aspects of the work that you just don't know. You often don't think about it. There's so much work that goes into these comical books that it's just like.
[00:55:46] Speaker B: You expect it to be there, but you don't know how much work goes into it. It's fun to. Fun to learn those things.
Wow.
[00:56:07] Speaker A: All right, well, next up we got King Spawn 24 from July 2023.
So this is.
[00:56:19] Speaker B: I know King Spawn.
[00:56:20] Speaker A: Started in August, so I guess it's just off a little bit. Because that means this is two years of King spawn here. David, that's monumental.
[00:56:28] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:56:28] Speaker C: Well, no, two years. If King Spawn started in August, and.
[00:56:32] Speaker B: This is July, that would be right on.
[00:56:37] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:56:37] Speaker B: Yeah, right on.
Because I remember it started in August.
[00:56:44] Speaker A: But, yeah, 24 months, 24 issues of King Spawn. That means it's been, like, two years since I've been, like, a true spawn fan.
[00:56:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:56:51] Speaker C: So your spawn vertiversary.
[00:56:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Upon us.
[00:56:58] Speaker A: Anyone that's listening. That's been a longer fan. Which is probably most people.
[00:57:02] Speaker B: You can hate me now.
[00:57:06] Speaker A: Be like, that guy's an imposter.
[00:57:08] Speaker B: Don't worry.
[00:57:09] Speaker A: My impostor syndrome is already working overtime.
[00:57:12] Speaker C: I was about to say. You don't have to accuse me of that. I already do that, like, six times a day.
[00:57:17] Speaker A: I already think I am, so.
[00:57:19] Speaker B: Ha.
[00:57:21] Speaker C: Or you already don't think you are.
[00:57:24] Speaker B: Which is how it works. Right. It's tricky. It's tricky.
Yeah.
[00:57:30] Speaker A: King Spawn 24. So this is the end of the fourth arc of King Spawn.
This kind of salmon twitch, cyan kind of street level arc. I really like this arc.
[00:57:44] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a real good one.
[00:57:46] Speaker A: It was fun to kind of mix it up. With all the cosmic stuff.
[00:57:48] Speaker B: We've been doing in Kingspawn.
But I'm getting ahead of myself, because.
[00:57:54] Speaker A: I'm getting past the COVID And we're still at the COVID dude.
[00:57:56] Speaker B: Yeah, we are still at the COVID.
[00:57:58] Speaker A: Speaking of street level. Well, that's the b cover.
[00:58:00] Speaker B: But the a cover is one of.
[00:58:04] Speaker A: These ones by J. H. Williams II, which have been awesome.
[00:58:10] Speaker C: They have.
[00:58:11] Speaker A: They're the big connecting makes, like, a big spawn.
[00:58:15] Speaker B: Like, I don't know, kind of collage.
[00:58:18] Speaker A: It's pretty cool.
[00:58:19] Speaker B: Yeah, it is.
[00:58:22] Speaker A: Those are the ones for July.
This cover is just like, spawn's face. Like, king Spawn looking spawn. Like, just the corner of his face.
[00:58:30] Speaker C: Part of the cape. It's meatball head spawn. And he's got his smoking eyes. And just the most rugged of teeth.
[00:58:40] Speaker B: Yes. And I believe this is the top right of the.
[00:58:43] Speaker C: Yeah, I do.
[00:58:45] Speaker B: And Johnny, gloriously free of spawn nose.
[00:58:49] Speaker A: No, Spawn nose.
[00:58:50] Speaker B: Just.
[00:58:51] Speaker A: You got nose holes. That's all you need.
[00:58:52] Speaker C: Just a hole.
[00:58:53] Speaker B: Yeah, but the b cover.
[00:58:54] Speaker A: Speaking of street level, why I said that the one covers is awesome. By Thomas Spawn.
[00:59:00] Speaker B: With, like, that is by. Yeah.
[00:59:03] Speaker A: Francesco Thomas.
[00:59:04] Speaker B: Ellie. And it's spawned on top of a.
[00:59:09] Speaker A: Car that Sam and twitch are driving. He's holding, like, a giant gun. And there's money flying. It's like they're in the middle of a chase of, like, a banker or.
[00:59:16] Speaker C: Either that or gunslinger. Spawn has just fought somebody in the area. And it's throwing his money around. I like that.
[00:59:26] Speaker B: Sam on this cover has a gun.
[00:59:30] Speaker C: Almost as big as spawns. That he's just holding out the window.
[00:59:35] Speaker A: What does the license plate say?
[00:59:37] Speaker B: Brat Bazaar.
[00:59:39] Speaker C: It looks like B-R-A-I can't tell if that's a t or a seven or an l or an I.
[00:59:45] Speaker B: And then it says eight zk.
Okay.
[00:59:50] Speaker A: Probably just something personal.
[00:59:57] Speaker B: Zebob behemoth. Behemoth.
[01:00:03] Speaker A: Yeah, it's pretty cool. It's got, like, a pink, orange, blue, like, neon. It reminds you of, like, a GTA game.
[01:00:11] Speaker B: I don't know. Yeah, it's like spawn GTA.
[01:00:13] Speaker C: Yeah, that would be so dope.
[01:00:15] Speaker A: Yeah, you'd just be spawning GTA.
[01:00:16] Speaker B: That'd be pretty sweet.
[01:00:18] Speaker A: Open world spawn game.
[01:00:19] Speaker C: I don't think your little stars would ever go away. You'd always be at five stars.
[01:00:24] Speaker A: We get to find Sam and twitch and be like, get these guys off my back. And like, okay.
[01:00:29] Speaker C: The second you step out in the daylight again, it goes back up, and they're like, God damn it, spawn.
[01:00:34] Speaker B: Spawn. You're supposed to lay low.
[01:00:38] Speaker C: Like, you already got us kicked off the force once.
[01:00:42] Speaker B: So both are pretty cool covers. I just liked the thought that same.
[01:00:46] Speaker A: And twitch one was fun.
[01:00:47] Speaker B: Yeah, that's real fun.
[01:00:49] Speaker A: Like, to see the boys working together.
[01:00:50] Speaker B: So then we got credits.
[01:00:52] Speaker A: David, you want to start these credits off since I read the last.
[01:00:54] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, I'll do. We got. We got script plot by Mr. Sean Lewis.
[01:00:59] Speaker B: There he is.
[01:01:00] Speaker C: It's beautiful. It's additional script by the Todd father himself.
[01:01:05] Speaker B: Art by all boy.
[01:01:06] Speaker C: It's our boy Javi Fernandez.
[01:01:08] Speaker A: Javi's back after issue away. Oh, man, it's really awesome.
[01:01:12] Speaker C: It's so. Oh, it's so good. Ivan Nunez.
[01:01:15] Speaker A: Yoko's terrifying.
[01:01:16] Speaker B: Yeah, it is. Jesus.
[01:01:18] Speaker C: It's, like, right on that first page, too.
[01:01:20] Speaker B: It's hard to.
[01:01:21] Speaker A: She's, like, so scary, and people are talking to her, and I'm like, how are you even talking to her? She's terrifying looking.
[01:01:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:01:28] Speaker C: His yoko force ghosts are much more terrifying than previous two. Ivan Nunez doing the colors.
[01:01:37] Speaker B: Still beautiful colors.
[01:01:39] Speaker C: Much more muted than they have been.
[01:01:41] Speaker B: In the regular main title. But, yes, appropriately creepy.
[01:01:47] Speaker C: And world design doing the lettering. We done covered the covers. The Todd father being the creative director here. And then our boy Thomas Healy is.
[01:01:56] Speaker B: The editor in chief.
Nice.
[01:01:59] Speaker A: Boom, boom, boom.
[01:02:00] Speaker C: Then we got ourselves here a previously in King Spawn.
Spawn and Sam have been surrounded by the forces of the exodus Corp. Little does everyone know that reinforcements in the form of terry and twitch are about to kick down the door.
[01:02:16] Speaker A: Hell, yeah.
[01:02:17] Speaker C: I like Spawn and Sam. Terry and twitch.
[01:02:21] Speaker A: Yeah, it works out together. Nice alliteration.
[01:02:24] Speaker C: Terry and Sam and Spawn and twitch.
Could you imagine if they had a spinoff instead of Sam and twitch? It was Spawn and twitch.
[01:02:34] Speaker A: I think sam just gets his own.
It's Sam and twitch and spawns. Sam.
[01:02:41] Speaker C: I think the dynamic between Spawn and.
[01:02:43] Speaker B: Twitch would be kind of icy because.
[01:02:46] Speaker C: I don't think twitch would put up with much of Spawn's bullshit. Like, he puts up with sam's bullshit.
[01:02:51] Speaker A: But no, he wouldn't put up with to.
Yeah, I think he would not.
[01:02:59] Speaker C: The dynamic between sam and Spawn, they're both fiery. And I think twitch is too smart to be paired with Spawn. Spawn would be pissed off like, you.
[01:03:12] Speaker B: Motherfucker, stop being so sneaky.
Yeah, so I like that.
[01:03:21] Speaker C: In the issue itself, it says, recap.
[01:03:24] Speaker B: An exodus corp warehouse near the Hudson river.
[01:03:28] Speaker A: So we're at the bottom of that. He came out of the basement of that warehouse. Fight's about to go down. Tar's there.
Daddy marvel's there. Behemoth is there. It's a big showdown.
[01:03:41] Speaker C: Yoko's there with her force. Ghosts that she created from eating people's brains.
[01:03:48] Speaker A: Or I guess sam Burt caught in.
[01:03:51] Speaker B: The middle of some biblical scrum.
[01:03:53] Speaker C: I like that. It's a scrum.
[01:03:55] Speaker B: Oh, boy, scrum.
[01:03:57] Speaker A: You remember scrum?
[01:03:59] Speaker C: No, I don't. I know the word scrum.
[01:04:02] Speaker B: It's a fun thing also.
[01:04:04] Speaker A: What does that mean?
[01:04:05] Speaker C: It's just like a scuffle. So in rugby, a scrum is where one person has the. Whatever the rugby ball is called, and the opposite team just, like, surrounds them and kind of moves them at their will.
[01:04:18] Speaker B: So it's just another word for a scuffle.
[01:04:22] Speaker A: So, david, there's a gentleman in college that was obsessed with scotch and rum mixed together. He called it scrum. And he was really annoying about it, wanted everyone to drink it and thought it was, like, the best thing in the world.
[01:04:34] Speaker C: It sounds fucking disgusting.
[01:04:35] Speaker B: Sounds awful.
[01:04:37] Speaker A: Scotch and rum. Scrum. Scrum. Scrum.
[01:04:41] Speaker B: No, thank you.
[01:04:42] Speaker C: No, thank you.
[01:04:43] Speaker B: That sounds, if I might say, johnny, even worse than cake and beer.
[01:04:49] Speaker A: Does sound worse than cake and beer. Especially scotch.
[01:04:51] Speaker B: Since cake and beer isn't quite as.
[01:04:54] Speaker C: Bad as we thought it might be. It's not the ideal pairing. In fact, it's actually better to drink the beer and then wait until you're inebriated to eat the cake. That's the ideal pairing.
Scrum.
[01:05:10] Speaker B: Gross.
[01:05:11] Speaker C: Disgusting. I am disgusted. I am going to throw up prematurely.
[01:05:16] Speaker B: Because that sounds so disgusting. Scrum.
[01:05:22] Speaker A: Turn the page.
[01:05:23] Speaker B: And we get one of those.
[01:05:25] Speaker A: What did Sean Lewis call it?
[01:05:27] Speaker C: A hobby style splash page.
[01:05:29] Speaker A: Hobby style splash page. We got to turn the issue sideways.
This is this fight being unleashed, basically.
[01:05:38] Speaker C: Spawn punching people. We got behemoth throwing cyan.
[01:05:42] Speaker B: We got tar just snarling. We got Sam shooting at Yoko.
[01:05:48] Speaker A: Behemoth throwing people around.
[01:05:50] Speaker B: It's madness.
[01:05:51] Speaker A: It's madness.
[01:05:52] Speaker C: And I do like how the narration as it goes down the pages ends in the one spot of the page that is just black. Like it's sucking us into the shadows. So Spawn has.
Spawn's power is at its very height, and that's exactly what tar wanted. And she gives him the poison ivy kiss. And Spawn forgot his rubber lips at home.
She's sucking all that power out of him. Her kiss of death, quote, unquote.
[01:06:30] Speaker A: Yeah, so tar, just like. It's just funny.
[01:06:31] Speaker B: Like, in the middle of battle, she.
[01:06:33] Speaker A: Just walks up and lays a smackaroo on him.
[01:06:35] Speaker C: Yeah, it seems like it will be a very easy attack to defend against.
[01:06:39] Speaker B: But yet tars, good looking.
[01:06:43] Speaker C: Yeah, but Spawn's got eyes for Wanda.
[01:06:46] Speaker B: He's pissed that Wanda.
[01:06:49] Speaker C: He's pissed that Wanda is dead right now. He's not going to rest for some hanky panky until after he is satisfied with his investigations.
[01:07:03] Speaker A: Maybe he's got to get Wanda off the brain. Yeah, no, I imagine she sneaks up behind him and just real quick, like, kisses him.
[01:07:10] Speaker C: Yeah, probably because it looks like she's kind of, like, yanked him back and around. So I do think she snuck up on him.
[01:07:20] Speaker A: Well, you can see in the previous page, she's, like, sneaking up behind him.
[01:07:23] Speaker B: Yeah, because his arm is sitting there.
[01:07:27] Speaker A: And she kisses him.
[01:07:29] Speaker C: Dangle blind spots.
[01:07:30] Speaker B: Whoo.
[01:07:31] Speaker C: Kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss.
They're at a baseball game, and they.
[01:07:35] Speaker A: Got linked your glasses together.
[01:07:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:07:39] Speaker C: I can imagine with the speed that that happened, that they probably accidentally knocked their teeth together and. Oh, is there anything more unpleasant than accidentally knocking your teeth together? God, makes my teeth hurt. Just thinking about my mouth is sounding the same all day. You're welcome, Jody.
[01:07:56] Speaker B: Ow.
[01:07:57] Speaker C: Bumping teeth.
And then Yoko comes out of the.
[01:08:02] Speaker B: Shadows, walks over to Cyan, and has a nice little.
Nice little moment with her, remembering the.
[01:08:15] Speaker C: Terrible things they've endured together.
But Yoko doesn't blame.
[01:08:23] Speaker B: Just like, yeah, we had some shit.
It fucking sucks.
Yeah. And Cyan avenged her, blowing people's heads off. Oh, man.
[01:08:39] Speaker C: And then we leave this little touching moment to tar is done with Spawn.
[01:08:45] Speaker B: And turns him over to behemoth.
Behemoth.
And, oh, man, behemoth is just throwing him around.
[01:08:57] Speaker C: Like he's smashing him into the ground. He's throwing him into the wall. And we got a nice little narration.
[01:09:02] Speaker B: About how.
[01:09:08] Speaker C: Spawn's been fighting this war. And there's lots of factions and lots of enemies. And all the enemies know about him. But very few know what his full capabilities are.
[01:09:19] Speaker A: Yes, because they don't get to see hell spawns very often.
[01:09:22] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:09:22] Speaker C: Because Spawn, much like data, is fully functional. And programmed in multiple techniques.
[01:09:28] Speaker A: He knows kung fu.
[01:09:30] Speaker C: And so Spawn shadow, blasts himself away to plan his assault. And then we go to outside the warehouse. Where we got Terry and twitch hanging around.
[01:09:41] Speaker A: They're just like, shit.
[01:09:45] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[01:09:47] Speaker A: Talk about they see madness.
[01:09:49] Speaker C: Fucking round eye of surprise on Terry there.
[01:09:53] Speaker A: Terry looks shook him.
[01:09:55] Speaker B: Shook the shookest.
[01:09:57] Speaker C: And then they do a countdown. And then they enter, guns blazing.
[01:10:00] Speaker A: Twitch text harmariful, shoots the light out. They're shooting at everybody.
[01:10:06] Speaker B: And that's cool that he shoots the.
[01:10:08] Speaker A: Light out to get Spawn in there.
[01:10:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
And Yoko is just, like, screaming, screaming, yeah.
[01:10:17] Speaker C: So Terry shoots the light out. And Spawn comes back in his super full king spawn glory there.
[01:10:25] Speaker B: Look at him.
[01:10:27] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Floating down.
[01:10:29] Speaker C: Exodus. How ironic a word you chose.
Then we get a nice little exodus. The second book of the Bible. The word means to depart.
To scholars, it means the departure of this world to another. For Spawn, it's about to mean being extinguished from.
[01:10:49] Speaker B: This.
[01:10:49] Speaker C: I take from this that Sean Lewis is a big fucking nerd. And I am here for it.
[01:10:55] Speaker A: Bible.
[01:10:58] Speaker C: Definitely here.
[01:10:59] Speaker B: Bible nerd.
And then we get some booms.
[01:11:07] Speaker A: Spawns is beating the shit out of behemoth.
[01:11:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:11:09] Speaker C: Just like punching him right in his belly.
[01:11:12] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[01:11:16] Speaker C: They'll know it was never a contest, that the result was ever in doubt.
[01:11:19] Speaker B: Johnny Spawn's always going to win against.
[01:11:21] Speaker C: Behemoth is what he's saying.
[01:11:25] Speaker A: He throws behemoth right at tar.
[01:11:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:11:28] Speaker C: Oh, can you imagine? That would be like getting hit by a bus.
[01:11:33] Speaker B: Oh, that would hurt. Oh, boy.
[01:11:35] Speaker C: And then Cyan's talking to Yoko. You can't stand by and watch this.
Trying to get her into the.
[01:11:43] Speaker B: Like.
[01:11:43] Speaker A: I gotta kiss him again. I'm gonna get my lips on him again. She's like a man.
[01:11:48] Speaker B: Uga.
[01:11:53] Speaker C: Does Spawn then try to exit the room. Only to find that the door opens onto absolutely nothing. And he's 400 stories in the air. Has to hold on.
[01:12:05] Speaker A: Yes, exactly. Falls straight down a man.
Yeah, she's trying to kiss Spawn again.
But then Yoko sends all the scary demon ghosts at her.
[01:12:19] Speaker C: Yeah, her little. The brain goop ghosts ride at tar.
Because Yoko's been clued back into her humanity again, seeing Cyan. And then Yoko's just like, hey, guess what, Spawn. We're fucking done.
[01:12:35] Speaker B: Another touching scene of twitch helping Sam up.
[01:12:40] Speaker C: Sam, you okay?
[01:12:42] Speaker B: I'll live. And then Yoko takes him over. Like, look, here's all the Zelda's.
[01:12:47] Speaker A: The Exodus Corp. We live stream with them. We're playing Skype. We're playing Xbox with them.
[01:12:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:12:53] Speaker C: And then we got one dramatic.
It's like the dramatic chipmunk where Jericho is just standing there, and he goes, Don.
He looks right at the camera.
[01:13:04] Speaker A: He's like, I'm going to stand in front of this camera till Spawn shows up. So I can turn around and talk to.
[01:13:11] Speaker B: Know.
[01:13:13] Speaker C: Jericho starts trying to basically be like, yeah, hey, guess what?
[01:13:17] Speaker B: We still have the upper hand.
[01:13:19] Speaker C: Humans fucking suck. And then I just love. Just behemoth comes by and just tackles him.
That's the end of it.
[01:13:27] Speaker B: It's just like he's being there, trying to be menacing and trying to make.
[01:13:33] Speaker C: This sort of plot happen even longer to extend it in their favor. And behemoth just.
Yoinks.
That was the thing I wanted to talk about before we started, was just.
[01:13:50] Speaker A: Yeah, I thought, that's hilarious. It's supposed to be behemoth, right?
[01:13:53] Speaker C: Yeah, that is behemoth.
[01:13:54] Speaker A: But it's just like, the idea is that he kills him and sends him to hell, and then he just goes down and attacks.
[01:14:00] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, it's great. That's pretty funny.
[01:14:05] Speaker B: So Spawn starts, you know, pointing the finger at Papa Marriville here and tells him to run.
[01:14:15] Speaker C: He basically does to Papa Maraville what he did to tar marivel at the very beginning of this arc, where he's like, rodden, go talk to your superiors.
[01:14:27] Speaker B: Let them know.
[01:14:28] Speaker A: This goes way worse for him, though, than it did for tar. Oh, he gets decapitated.
[01:14:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
His head just plaps back toward them.
[01:14:39] Speaker A: I like how it says, like, sadly, spawn's group barely reacts because they've all.
[01:14:42] Speaker C: Grown to the atrocities of war.
Sam's just like, again.
[01:14:50] Speaker A: It'S fun having the whole gang together here. It was nice to see everyone just, like, chilling.
[01:14:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:14:55] Speaker C: Someone's hiding out there.
[01:14:57] Speaker B: I know.
[01:14:59] Speaker C: He's another I've been hunting.
[01:15:00] Speaker B: And then we got lights, a match.
[01:15:04] Speaker A: Evening, simmons.
[01:15:05] Speaker C: A smoke is lit. Matches are.
[01:15:07] Speaker B: Unnimmons are unneeded.
[01:15:09] Speaker C: Unnimmons.
[01:15:10] Speaker A: Unnimmons I just smushed together.
[01:15:13] Speaker C: Unneeded and Simmons. What the hell?
[01:15:16] Speaker A: Unnimmons.
[01:15:17] Speaker C: Unnimmons. And then we get opening reading.
[01:15:23] Speaker B: To close it. And it's responds, obviously. Brick shithouse clown.
[01:15:30] Speaker A: Brick shithouse clown with his s. Craig Zoller ponytail.
[01:15:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:15:33] Speaker C: And his fucking dramatic cigarette.
[01:15:36] Speaker B: Holy shit.
[01:15:37] Speaker C: He is like half covered in smoke. It's amazing.
[01:15:39] Speaker A: He says, say goodbye to your friends. I'm going to need you. And where we're going, they won't survive. And we might not either.
[01:15:45] Speaker C: Yeah, this is like, if it's dark.
[01:15:47] Speaker A: We'Re wearing sunglasses and it's 200 miles to Chicago.
[01:15:51] Speaker B: Hit it.
[01:15:51] Speaker C: If the Lord of the Rings were rated r, this is how Aragorn would have been hanging out waiting for the hobits.
[01:15:59] Speaker B: Yep. Although I guess he kind of did.
[01:16:01] Speaker C: Because he was smoking his pipe.
[01:16:03] Speaker B: Smoking, yeah.
Lord of the Rings.
[01:16:06] Speaker C: Metal as fuck.
[01:16:08] Speaker A: He was good.
[01:16:09] Speaker B: He was smoking that pipe weed, Johnny. Yeah, the longbottom leaf.
[01:16:15] Speaker C: Then we get ourselves a spawning grounds.
[01:16:17] Speaker B: And it's a fan art again.
[01:16:19] Speaker C: But it's the graffiti edition.
[01:16:21] Speaker B: Pretty cool. It's fucking great. It's fucking great.
Got a lot of spawns.
[01:16:27] Speaker A: But you also got a clown and a gunslinger spawner, which is pretty cool.
[01:16:31] Speaker B: I like that.
[01:16:32] Speaker C: There's like a chibby spawn and then there's also the king spawn style spawn where it's like his mask is basically just his decayed face only smoothed out. So it's got, like, his bared nasty.
[01:16:48] Speaker B: Teeth and his nose hole.
Oh, man, it's good. It's so good.
I would love to see some spawn graffiti in the wild.
[01:16:58] Speaker C: I mean, there's plenty of it around.
[01:17:01] Speaker B: We just might.
[01:17:02] Speaker C: You just got to beat the buff. That's the only thing.
[01:17:05] Speaker B: Beat the who? Beat the buff.
[01:17:08] Speaker C: That's what they call it when they paint over it with the. Oh, they buff it out with the taupe paint. It's called buffing because they used to use.
New York had developed a cleanser that removed paint very well, but it was, like, devastating to infrastructure and train cars. So now they basically just paint over.
So if you ever. If you're ever driving through Chicago and you see under the underpass what looks.
[01:17:42] Speaker B: Like a freshly painted tan spot, they.
[01:17:46] Speaker C: Just power washed and painted over some.
[01:17:48] Speaker A: Graffiti, which sucks the more, you know.
[01:17:50] Speaker C: Because I'd much rather see what people are putting out there. I want to know these names.
[01:17:55] Speaker B: I know.
[01:17:55] Speaker A: I wish I knew who they were so we could shout them out.
[01:17:57] Speaker C: Yeah, well, obviously there's load there.
[01:18:02] Speaker B: Load?
[01:18:02] Speaker C: Yeah, I think I've seen some loads on some train cars, but never a spawn.
[01:18:10] Speaker B: Man.
[01:18:10] Speaker C: I'm real bad at reading letters.
[01:18:12] Speaker B: Was this Trex?
Yeah, Trex. Yeah, I'm real bad at it. That's okay.
We'll never know. The world may never know.
[01:18:23] Speaker A: Toy ad in this issue is for medieval spawn.
[01:18:26] Speaker B: Yeah, it's such a good toy.
[01:18:28] Speaker C: Such a good toy.
[01:18:29] Speaker A: That's King Spawn 24. Makes you want some more.
[01:18:33] Speaker B: Oh, man. Doesn't it, though? Doesn't it, though?
[01:18:36] Speaker A: Kind of sad if, like, if it is actually the last. I mean, we don't know for sure, but if it's the last Sean Lewis.
[01:18:41] Speaker B: That's the sad. Yeah. The end of an era comes back.
[01:18:46] Speaker A: Because 25 was written by Todd father.
[01:18:48] Speaker B: But we'll see.
[01:18:49] Speaker C: We will see indeed.
[01:18:51] Speaker A: Time to throw my hat into the ring.
[01:18:53] Speaker B: Yeah, you should. Definitely should.
[01:18:56] Speaker C: You're going to become best friends with.
[01:18:57] Speaker B: Thomas Healy and get a spawn.
[01:19:01] Speaker C: And then we're going to cover the issues of Spawn that you wrote, and you're going to be like, what the fuck was this bastard thinking when you're.
[01:19:08] Speaker A: This is bullshit.
Bring back the Todd, Father.
[01:19:13] Speaker C: Speaking of bullshit, Johnny, sometimes bullshit is what we rate things.
I think this is a review podcast.
[01:19:22] Speaker B: So we got a review, and we.
[01:19:25] Speaker C: Got to rate these puppies.
[01:19:26] Speaker A: It's time to rate these puppies.
So first up, we had spawn 315.
Three one five, big fight with Omega. We got Spawn's galore.
[01:19:40] Speaker C: We got the chain gang.
[01:19:42] Speaker A: We got the chain gang. According to the image website, there is a chain featured and there is a gang of people.
[01:19:50] Speaker B: So, yeah, maybe it's right, but no.
[01:19:55] Speaker A: It'S a big fight. We get the first big medieval action here.
[01:19:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I really like this issue.
[01:20:03] Speaker C: We get that plague spawn coming out of the pit. He fell in the pit.
[01:20:10] Speaker A: We off from the pinnacle to the pit. From.
[01:20:14] Speaker B: The pit. What are you singing?
[01:20:17] Speaker C: The mouse rat song, the pit from parks and.
[01:20:21] Speaker B: Oh, okay. I don't know.
[01:20:25] Speaker C: Because the series starts with Andy Dwyer falling in the pit, and then while he's recovering, he makes a song. He writes a song called the pit.
[01:20:33] Speaker B: And how he fell into it.
[01:20:36] Speaker C: And then they just continue to play the song throughout the series.
[01:20:40] Speaker B: Well, I'm going to give 315.
I'm going to give it four debris.
[01:20:50] Speaker A: With spikes on it, shot out by Omega. Because I thought that was hilarious. Not only does he have to shoot debris at them, but he makes spikes on the debris before he shoots it at.
[01:20:58] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's real good.
[01:21:02] Speaker C: I'm going to give it three and a half resigned medievals.
Because he's just like, he's like, oh, there's no way out of this. So I might as well just coast on through.
[01:21:17] Speaker A: Hit the ground.
[01:21:18] Speaker B: Yeah. So excellent.
[01:21:21] Speaker C: Fun times.
We get our first plague, we get monolith and Al and medieval all working together.
It's just a good time.
[01:21:35] Speaker B: It's a real good issue.
[01:21:36] Speaker A: Key issue with first appearance of plague spawn. I mean, you get four spawns for the price of one. What's not to love?
[01:21:41] Speaker C: Yeah, well, five spawns if you include.
[01:21:43] Speaker B: The spawn on the COVID That's right.
[01:21:46] Speaker A: Because you got she spawn on the COVID That's five spawns, baby.
[01:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah, count it.
[01:21:51] Speaker C: Well, wait, maybe six, because there's plague and monolith and medieval and Al and she spawned and omega. That's six spawns for the price of one.
[01:22:00] Speaker A: Six spawns for the price of one.
Yeah, it was a fun issue.
[01:22:04] Speaker B: It was just fun to have a big fight and excited to see where this goes.
[01:22:11] Speaker C: We spent, like, issue. We hate amount of time on this.
[01:22:15] Speaker B: One, Johnny, is what we did.
[01:22:18] Speaker C: I don't know if you noticed, but. So, yeah, we really enjoyed that one because it was fun.
I do like that the issues we don't like are the ones we spend more time on.
[01:22:28] Speaker A: Sometimes that happens.
[01:22:30] Speaker C: Yeah, well, no, it's a good one. It's solid. It's solid.
[01:22:32] Speaker B: I love it.
[01:22:34] Speaker C: That brings us to Kingspawn 24 that.
[01:22:36] Speaker B: We got to rate. And.
[01:22:38] Speaker C: Oh, boy, this is creepy and good. It's a good battle. Just a good battle episode we got.
[01:22:46] Speaker B: Going on this time, Johnny.
[01:22:48] Speaker C: There's some.
[01:22:49] Speaker A: Yeah, both issues were pretty battle heavy. Just, like, big.
Some, actually. And they both were. This is the climax occult of Omega, and this is the climax to this arc. So they are both big climaxes.
[01:23:02] Speaker C: Yeah, there's some tender moments in here.
[01:23:04] Speaker B: And this is Javi Fernandez.
[01:23:07] Speaker A: Art's excellent.
[01:23:08] Speaker B: This is just, like, the reason we.
[01:23:11] Speaker C: Fucking come to King Spawn, I feel.
[01:23:13] Speaker B: It's just so good.
[01:23:15] Speaker A: Yeah. And I like this one's a little more street level. You get some team action in there with Terry and everybody. It was fun to see everyone. I don't know. It brought warm feelings to my heart. At the end of the issue, when everyone was standing there together. It's like, look, all of our friends.
[01:23:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:23:29] Speaker C: It's like the whole team is back.
When you're reading an epic fantasy series, and the group is all at the group at the beginning of the story, but then in the beginning of the second part of the first book, they break up into all different groups, and then they don't all come back together. Again until like, book eight. And then you're just like, hell yeah. Hell yeah. That's kind of what this felt like.
[01:23:54] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely. It's fun to have everyone back together.
[01:23:58] Speaker A: Good ending to the salmon twitch kind of arc here. Excited to see where it goes. The clown coming in.
[01:24:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
Good stuff. Yeah.
[01:24:07] Speaker A: So I'm going to give it four.
Jericho getting tackled by.
[01:24:16] Speaker B: Johnny.
It happened. What? We gave it the same thing. It happened.
[01:24:23] Speaker C: I have just had my first.
I lost one of the staples on the center page.
[01:24:29] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:24:30] Speaker C: So, like, the staple is still in.
[01:24:32] Speaker B: The book, but the bottom staple ripped.
[01:24:36] Speaker C: Off of the center page. Oh, man.
I think due to that, I have to raise what my score was. Because I was going to give it four, but it's an automatic one. So we're at a five.
[01:24:47] Speaker B: Johnny.
[01:24:50] Speaker A: That center page, you get an extra point.
[01:24:52] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a requirement. It's definitely a requirement.
And I'm going to piggyback kind of on yours. So you got tackled. Jerichos. I'm going to give it five. Dramatic Jerichos. Just waiting for spawn to show up and watch him on the screen.
Because how long was he standing there with his back to the camera? He probably had to have been like, God, they're fucking taking.
Just beat them already.
[01:25:20] Speaker A: Stop kissing him, tar. I want to talk to spawn. Stop kissing him.
[01:25:26] Speaker C: Did he ever once in a while, is there a camera on the other side? And he's just like looking at his.
[01:25:31] Speaker B: Phone and it's like the fucking. No come just no.
Hell yeah. Those puppies rated.
[01:25:41] Speaker A: That's the rate of those puppies. Yeah.
[01:25:44] Speaker B: Each week we always like to give.
[01:25:47] Speaker A: A shout out to one of our Instagram. Instagram.
[01:25:51] Speaker C: Instagram instagrams instantly grambled Instagram friends.
[01:25:58] Speaker B: And this week is no different. Yeah.
[01:26:01] Speaker C: So this week we got a friend over there on Instagram.
[01:26:06] Speaker B: Their name.
[01:26:07] Speaker C: Oh, boy. So we're definitely going to have to spell this one out. But they are at Spawn green necro. And that is Spawngreenerc zero.
[01:26:24] Speaker B: And as the name suggests, they are fucking obsessed with Spawn. Johnny.
This guy Maurice, so much spawn stuff.
[01:26:38] Speaker C: Like, it looks like he's got a violator tattoo.
He's got a whole bunch of spawn stuff. He also has a dog.
[01:26:46] Speaker B: So he's got a. That's cool. Very good.
[01:26:49] Speaker C: It also looks like he is a knifeman. He's got a fixed blade.
A fixed blade. Benchmaid there.
[01:26:57] Speaker B: That's nice.
[01:26:59] Speaker C: He paid the butterfly tax.
[01:27:01] Speaker B: He'll know what that means.
[01:27:05] Speaker C: Yeah, he's just got all sorts of cool spawn shit.
Spawn and dogs. Johnny that's what this page is. Spawn and dogs.
[01:27:15] Speaker A: Hey. And that's what we're about.
[01:27:16] Speaker B: Spawn and dogs, man and food. Spawn, dogs and food.
[01:27:20] Speaker C: What more do you need?
[01:27:21] Speaker A: I like all those things.
[01:27:23] Speaker B: So good.
[01:27:24] Speaker C: He's got, like, the most spawn Batman motorcycle. Apparently, in the Dark Knight metal series, there's a bat cycle. That is a motorcycle. That is a bat skeleton.
[01:27:39] Speaker B: And that would fit right in.
[01:27:43] Speaker A: Oh, I see that.
[01:27:43] Speaker B: That's cool.
[01:27:45] Speaker A: That'd be fit right well in spawns. Yeah, he's got a great account. Just give him a follow.
[01:27:49] Speaker B: Yeah, super good. Super good.
[01:27:51] Speaker A: While you're there, make sure to give us a follow. Regarding Spawn pod. We are posting for the episodes, we're posting videos. We're posting our pickups. Just a lot of fun stuff going on over there. So come on over and check us out.
[01:28:03] Speaker C: Yeah, we like to have fun.
Only come visit us if you like.
[01:28:09] Speaker B: To have fun, which I sure hope.
[01:28:13] Speaker C: You like to have fun, because it would be real boring if you didn't. Speaking of real boring if you didn't, this podcast would be real boring if Brian didn't do the music for us.
[01:28:25] Speaker B: So while you're on the instagram checking.
[01:28:27] Speaker C: Out Spawn green, necro, and us, check out Brian. Brian underscore voyals.
[01:28:34] Speaker B: Underscore 27.
[01:28:36] Speaker C: I just did a deep dive into a lot of his older posts, too. Like a creep.
[01:28:42] Speaker B: It's fucking great. Brian's a cool ass dude.
[01:28:47] Speaker A: Yes, it was great music.
[01:28:48] Speaker C: If it weren't for this podcast, I would have never been introduced to him. And now it's hard to imagine my life without being like, hey, I know that guy.
[01:28:55] Speaker B: That's some cool shit.
[01:28:57] Speaker A: That's the power of the podcast, baby.
[01:29:00] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:29:00] Speaker C: Bringing friends together or making friends. Hey, Johnny. Johnny, do you want to maybe do.
[01:29:05] Speaker B: This again next week? I would.
[01:29:08] Speaker C: Hell, yeah.
[01:29:08] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:29:08] Speaker C: So do you want to read the same books again or some different books?
[01:29:11] Speaker A: No, David, we do different issues every episode.
[01:29:15] Speaker C: But we enjoyed these ones so much. Can't we just do them again?
[01:29:18] Speaker A: You got to keep moving forward like a shark. Like you said, you only read things.
[01:29:23] Speaker B: Don't read.
[01:29:24] Speaker C: I definitely have to read things more than once for this show, because if we were relying on when I read them on the day we bought them, boy, I would be like, wait, what happened?
[01:29:35] Speaker B: Wait, what the fuck is this?
[01:29:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:29:37] Speaker C: Wait, who's that going on?
But, no. For next week, we're going to do two entries from Spawn's universe.
[01:29:43] Speaker B: Johnny. Can you believe it? I can. Oh, man.
[01:29:47] Speaker C: I can too.
[01:29:48] Speaker A: What do you got for us? David.
[01:29:49] Speaker C: So we're going to have, for our.
[01:29:50] Speaker B: Classic issue, we're going to be keeping.
[01:29:52] Speaker C: Up that backlog of getting us to current day mainline spawn. And we're going to have Spawn 316 for Malbolgia.
[01:30:02] Speaker B: So hated the world, right, that they.
[01:30:07] Speaker C: Gave his hell powers to a human.
[01:30:12] Speaker B: And the clown was pissed.
[01:30:15] Speaker A: And that is from the book of.
[01:30:16] Speaker C: Spawn 316, chapter three, verse 16.
Oh, wonderful. I should have put for Malbosia. So loathed the world. That would have been better than hated the world.
[01:30:28] Speaker B: Boo.
[01:30:29] Speaker C: David.
[01:30:31] Speaker A: No, you're good.
[01:30:32] Speaker B: You caught it.
[01:30:33] Speaker C: Well, I should have done it in.
[01:30:35] Speaker B: The first place like a real professional would have.
[01:30:39] Speaker C: And then our new issue is going.
[01:30:41] Speaker B: To be gunslinger number 22, which, boy howdy.
[01:30:48] Speaker C: We are in the middle of that.
[01:30:52] Speaker A: Think fight.
[01:30:53] Speaker C: I do believe referring to it as a family feud would be appropriate. We're going to need to have Steve Harvey here making his wild facial expressions at us.
[01:31:05] Speaker A: Yeah, because we got Dakota Taylor, gunslinger clown, everyone going at each.
[01:31:10] Speaker C: So, yeah, we got dinosaurs, we got minions, we got fucking.
It's not done yet, Johnny.
[01:31:18] Speaker A: It's still going. It's the whole sink.
[01:31:21] Speaker C: This is not the end of the fight. This is just the middle bit of the fight, right?
[01:31:26] Speaker A: It keeps going.
[01:31:28] Speaker C: For next episode, we're going to read Spawn 316 and Gunslinger 22.
[01:31:31] Speaker B: And it's going to be a hell of a good time, Johnny.
[01:31:34] Speaker A: Sounds great to me.
[01:31:35] Speaker B: Sounds so good to me.
Yeah.
[01:31:39] Speaker C: Until then, don't forget to like us, subscribe to us, rate us, review us.
[01:31:45] Speaker A: And also make sure to send us emails at regarding
[email protected].
[01:31:50] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[01:31:51] Speaker A: Each week I like to prompt a question.
[01:31:56] Speaker B: And this week I would like to say, who is your favorite.
[01:32:03] Speaker A: Non spawn?
[01:32:05] Speaker B: Spawn.
[01:32:08] Speaker A: Spawn. Non spawn. So is it Jessica Priest? Not Al Simmons.
[01:32:12] Speaker C: Not Al Simmons.
[01:32:13] Speaker A: So basically, is it because we had so many spawns in this issue, all doing stuff. We had plague. We were talking about six spawns for the price of one.
[01:32:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:32:20] Speaker A: So I was wondering, which is your one?
[01:32:22] Speaker B: Is it G Spawn? Is it omega?
[01:32:25] Speaker A: Is it monolith? Is it plague? Which one do you like the best?
[01:32:29] Speaker C: Now, Johnny, I get what you're saying. Non Spawn is in the character of Spawn, the hero spawn, Al Simmons.
Does Jim Downing as Spawn?
Is that somebody you can choose as well, or is that off the table too?
[01:32:47] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah. Jim Downing is a non Al Simmons.
[01:32:50] Speaker B: Spawn, but just that he was the spawn for a little bit.
[01:32:55] Speaker C: Okay, nice.
[01:32:56] Speaker A: I'll get back to you when I get to those issues and let you know what I think.
I'll allow it right now.
[01:33:01] Speaker B: From where I am at this moment.
[01:33:03] Speaker C: Just so you know that if you do respond to us saying that Jim Downing is your favorite spawn, you might get canceled by Johnny.
Johnny's opinion on that matter is canon.
[01:33:17] Speaker A: Well, David, is there anything else you wanted to say to the future generations? This is going to be the only surviving episode of media in the future as we've decided. Anything you want to say to either the aliens or future post apocalyptic people?
[01:33:31] Speaker B: Oh, man, Johnny, I think literally the.
[01:33:35] Speaker C: Only thing that I can say.
Spawn is good.
[01:33:39] Speaker B: Spawn is fun.
[01:33:41] Speaker C: Spawn is love.
[01:33:46] Speaker B: Hey, well said.
