[00:00:00] Speaker A: I've had the servants prepare the courtyard for us.
[00:00:03] Speaker B: And please tell me you're not vegetarian, clown. I don't know what that means.
[00:00:41] Speaker A: Good evening, and welcome to the Malbols.
[00:00:44] Speaker B: This is regarding Spawn, the world's best spawn podcast. I'm your co host, John Fisher.
[00:00:55] Speaker C: Howdy. I am your co host, David Williams.
[00:00:57] Speaker B: And what's up?
[00:00:58] Speaker D: I'm returning.
[00:01:06] Speaker A: It's a hoot nanny.
[00:01:07] Speaker B: It is.
[00:01:10] Speaker C: We got to go ride some horses now. It's turned into a rodeo.
[00:01:13] Speaker A: It's officially a hoot nanny. We have the closet door cracked a little bit, so I won't get high off of Logan's fumes.
We're not going to die this time. Unlike our spawn friends, we do have to breathe.
[00:01:28] Speaker B: We must remember that.
[00:01:30] Speaker C: But just remember, Johnny, if you do die, you just have to yell Wanda with your last moment of cognizance, and you'll come back.
[00:01:38] Speaker A: What would I be?
[00:01:39] Speaker C: Would I be spawn?
[00:01:40] Speaker A: Like, what would my spawn? Nerd Spawn.
[00:01:46] Speaker C: Oh, man.
Shit, that's a good one.
You'd probably come back as, like, a comic book guide spawn. So you would literally look like comic book guy from the Simpsons.
[00:01:57] Speaker A: Oh, no, I don't want to be. That spawned your powers.
[00:02:04] Speaker D: You could just manifest a bunch of comic pages. To just, like, entrap and entomb. Wrap around someone or something.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:02:13] Speaker C: Instead of a chain, it's just pages. Let's see. I'd probably be like, Bunson Honeydew.
[00:02:21] Speaker A: Yeah, you'd be nerd. That kind of nerd spawn.
Various shades of nerd spawns. 50 shades of nerd Spawn.
[00:02:33] Speaker C: Bonk already.
[00:02:35] Speaker B: I'm 50 shades freed.
[00:02:37] Speaker C: What spawn would you be if you came back as a spawn there, Logan?
[00:02:40] Speaker B: Oh, man. I don't know.
[00:02:41] Speaker D: It'd be like.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:02:44] Speaker D: Some kind of combination of maybe. Like, I would have some, like, chef's knives, maybe.
[00:02:51] Speaker A: Chef Spawn.
[00:02:52] Speaker C: Chef Spawn.
[00:02:54] Speaker B: That would be a good one. Yeah, that'd be awesome.
[00:02:56] Speaker C: Better.
[00:02:58] Speaker D: Maybe some kind of a guitar playing. Like, I just carry guitar on my back.
[00:03:02] Speaker C: Or, like, a troubadour spawn.
[00:03:06] Speaker D: Yeah, like, an attack with the power of music, but hell enhanced.
[00:03:11] Speaker A: That'd be awesome. I love an idea of a troubadour spawn.
[00:03:16] Speaker B: That's actually really cool.
Let's will it into the universe.
[00:03:20] Speaker C: I think we got your pitch for Thomas healing.
[00:03:22] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Troubadour spawn is also a knife.
[00:03:27] Speaker C: Also, we can make the musical out.
[00:03:29] Speaker B: Of it, and we can get ghosts to write the. And then we'll get that egot.
[00:03:33] Speaker D: There you go.
[00:03:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, man.
[00:03:35] Speaker C: All in one.
[00:03:35] Speaker B: All in one. Because then we'll film it. Well, welcome, everyone.
[00:03:39] Speaker A: You get an award for listening to our podcast and for joining us.
[00:03:44] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
Today, as most of the time, we.
[00:03:49] Speaker A: Are covering two issues from Spawn's universe here.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: Regarding spawn, we've got a more, less.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: Contemporary issue, what we call a classic from all the way back in the.
[00:04:01] Speaker B: Far off land of March 2022.
[00:04:04] Speaker A: So a little over a year ago.
[00:04:05] Speaker B: As you're listening, or as we're recording.
[00:04:09] Speaker A: You could be listening at any time. That issue could be ten years old. And you're listening to this right now. If you think about it.
[00:04:15] Speaker C: Talk about time not making sense.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: How's it going out there? How's the future? Hopefully things are going really good, because it seems to be trending that way.
[00:04:25] Speaker D: Definitely trending in that way.
[00:04:28] Speaker A: Ten years from now, I mean, at least feel like you live in hell. Probably because it'll be so hot out.
[00:04:33] Speaker C: Yeah. The Malpoles, the trences will probably fill up first because they'd be the.
[00:04:40] Speaker B: They would be flooded. Shit. Oh, no.
[00:04:44] Speaker A: And then our second issue, and that.
[00:04:45] Speaker B: Issue, of course, is gunslinger number six. The first number of six.
[00:04:50] Speaker A: Six. Six.
[00:04:51] Speaker B: So it's extra demony. It is the issue where Spawn, gunslinger.
[00:04:56] Speaker A: Spawn, javi, and clown have their fated dinner of death, as I've called it before. We've mentioned this issue long time ago, early episodes of the pod.
[00:05:08] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: Because this is a really fun one and glad we're finally getting to it.
[00:05:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
We love a comic book eating.
[00:05:16] Speaker A: We do love it when they eat. That's why we love Sam and twitch. That's why we love clown.
[00:05:21] Speaker B: And also for a little, let's say.
[00:05:24] Speaker A: An after little palate cleanser or a moose boosh. Well, I guess that would be before. So as an effortif we have scorched number 14, which, from what I've heard from Logan, who this is, his second issue of scorched was pretty confusing. But we'll suss it out for you. We'll suss it.
[00:05:45] Speaker B: Mean, not gonna lie, it was kind.
[00:05:47] Speaker C: Of confusing for me my first time, too, because it's diving into lore. I didn't know.
That's. That's what Sean Lewis is bringing us. He's bringing us that he read all the issues of Spawn. So he could be like, I want.
[00:06:01] Speaker B: To do something with that. And I would do something.
[00:06:04] Speaker D: When I was reading through it, I was like, wait a minute. Is this a flashback?
[00:06:08] Speaker B: Is this present?
[00:06:09] Speaker D: Like, what's happening here? For a minute, I was like, I guess it also didn't help that I.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: Read it about, like, 20 minutes after.
[00:06:17] Speaker D: I woke up this morning at, like, five in the morning. So that probably was a factor.
[00:06:21] Speaker A: But, hey, it'll be good. It'll be dreamlike. It'll be. Interesting interpretation.
[00:06:27] Speaker D: Big fan of medieval spawn, though I.
[00:06:28] Speaker A: Will say that I was thinking that I figured you would be, and I'm excited. You got to experience him, but I'll.
[00:06:34] Speaker B: Give you some once you get caught.
[00:06:36] Speaker A: Up on Gunslinger, which I gave you a bunch of those.
[00:06:39] Speaker B: Yeah, I got to get on that.
[00:06:40] Speaker A: Yeah. And then after that, we can do.
[00:06:42] Speaker B: Some king spawn or scorch, which feature.
[00:06:46] Speaker A: A lot more medieval. He's kind of their team heavy. He's kind of their hulk.
[00:06:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:52] Speaker A: So, yeah, those are our two issues this week.
Is there something else we say at the beginning, or.
[00:06:57] Speaker B: That's it.
[00:06:59] Speaker C: I think we just dick around for a little bit until we remember. Oh, hey, we're.
[00:07:02] Speaker A: Yeah, I remember this time.
I'm just so excited.
[00:07:07] Speaker C: We got through it pretty quickly.
[00:07:08] Speaker A: I'm just excited about clown.
[00:07:11] Speaker B: Yeah. So first, I mean, let's. Then let's just get into it, dude.
[00:07:15] Speaker C: Just get into it.
[00:07:16] Speaker B: First up, we've got gunslinger spawn number.
[00:07:20] Speaker A: Six, as I mentioned, from March 2022.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: As always, we got the script plot by Todd McFarland, art by Bret Booth.
Our anchors are Sal Regla and Adelso Corona, color by Ivan Nunes, lettering by Tom Orshiskowski.
[00:07:43] Speaker A: Tomo, our guy that's been there since the get go.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: Cover artists. Well, that's where we come to the COVID What cover do you have, David?
[00:07:54] Speaker C: I have cover b. I've got that Kevin Keane cover, and it's literally like he went to Denver and wanted to draw that evil horse at the end of airport and then stuck gunslinger on the back of it. And it is awesome because it's dark tones and green glowing eyes.
[00:08:16] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm a big fan of that cover, for sure. When I got here, Johnny showed me that one.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: I was like, oh, man, cool.
I'm a fan of the Denver airport. Denver airport.
[00:08:27] Speaker D: I'm a fan of all the conspiracy theories of the Denver airport, for sure.
Yeah, it is the weird murals of into the world shit going on there with dudes in gas masks and all that kind of.
[00:08:40] Speaker A: It's just wild. It's one of those things where I.
[00:08:43] Speaker B: Love that and it's creepy, but you.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: Get down one of those YouTube rabbit holes, and you're watching one of those hour long deep dives into it, and you just freak yourself out. It's just so convincing. Oh, my God. The Denver airport's the most evil place in the know. I don't love it. Hopefully people don't think there's actually FEMA death camps located underneath the Denver airport.
[00:09:05] Speaker D: I love a good conspiracy theory from, like, a entertainment.
[00:09:09] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:09:09] Speaker D: Always. I'm just like, oh, yeah, what's the like?
[00:09:14] Speaker A: Because there's always that little bit. And that's why it's a conspiracy theory. There's that little part of it that's, like, such a good story that makes you want it to be true almost, or is a little bit plausible. It just makes too much sense. It can't not be that.
[00:09:29] Speaker B: And I don't know.
[00:09:30] Speaker A: I mean, as long as you're not taking it to any extremes or anything.
[00:09:33] Speaker C: Yeah, it fills in those holes, so that way it's convenient and it makes sense. So you're like, hey, now I don't have to look anything up. Let's just go.
[00:09:41] Speaker A: That sounds perfect. That fits everything. I want to believe.
[00:09:44] Speaker C: Well, on the opposite end of that spectrum, my one time that I was in the Denver airport, I rode on a plane with temple motherfucking grandin, and it was great. She was wearing her sparkly western shirt the whole time.
[00:09:57] Speaker D: The actual person or.
[00:10:01] Speaker C: No, no, the actual temple grandin. She was a lady who did a lot of work with horse. Humane stuff, her Wikipedia says.
A widely cited proponent for the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter. Yeah, she's just this little old lady visiting the horse.
No.
[00:10:27] Speaker B: I think she lives in Denver.
[00:10:30] Speaker A: What else did they say about the Denver airport?
[00:10:33] Speaker C: I don't know. It's a mile high, so you got.
[00:10:36] Speaker B: To be at least, right?
[00:10:40] Speaker C: That's the joke. You can buy legal mushrooms in Denver.
[00:10:44] Speaker B: Oh, you can?
[00:10:45] Speaker A: That's right.
[00:10:45] Speaker D: Yeah, that's right.
[00:10:46] Speaker B: I forgot about that.
[00:10:47] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:10:48] Speaker C: They decriminalized psilocybin. It's funny to walk around town and see people trying to sell mushrooms that.
[00:10:54] Speaker B: Are, like, fly aggregate based when those.
[00:11:01] Speaker C: Literally aren't a psychotropic, they're just a poison.
[00:11:04] Speaker B: Oh, God.
[00:11:05] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:11:07] Speaker C: Because the Mario mushrooms. The Mario mushrooms are used to kill.
[00:11:10] Speaker B: Flies, which is where they get their nickname, fly aggregate.
[00:11:18] Speaker C: There's a lot of A's and G's and I's and t's in that.
[00:11:20] Speaker B: So Mario's just, like, near death and.
[00:11:23] Speaker A: Hallucinating that he's grown.
[00:11:25] Speaker D: Yeah, he's not actually getting here. He's just like, God, I'm so fucking big.
[00:11:32] Speaker C: He's just so sick. He can't see his whole body. He's just like, oh, it's like when you get a sinus infection and your head feels like it's gigantic. Like you're a big balloon head, man.
[00:11:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: Like DK mode on golden Eye. 64.
[00:11:51] Speaker C: Flaps only.
[00:11:52] Speaker A: Flappers only, baby.
[00:11:54] Speaker C: The trick is nobody's allowed to play.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: Short round or not short round.
[00:12:00] Speaker C: OD job. Nobody can play OD job on slaps only.
[00:12:02] Speaker D: Oh, dude, it was so funny because we had a guy that would only ever play jaws, and when we were doing his slaps only, I was like, I'm going to definitely be Od job. And he was like looking down and.
[00:12:14] Speaker A: Just couldn't see me.
You're that guy.
I had a friend that always plays a little alien on perfect dart. I always liked when we played the alien because that little head was really easy to hit.
[00:12:25] Speaker B: Just a big old head. Oh, man. Is there anything more satisfied that the.
[00:12:31] Speaker A: Bullets in those games, specifically, like when you shot someone and they would react. When I was a kid, that was like, blew my mind, dude.
[00:12:38] Speaker D: My favorite thing in golden eye is when you be going through the levels and a dude would hit the roll on you and you light him up before he came out of the roll dead. And then he would just roll out and be like. And just fly to the side afterwards.
[00:12:52] Speaker A: And they all had the goofiest ass faces because they were just like pictures of the developers. They were just like people. They just scanned their faces on them.
[00:13:01] Speaker B: Oh, man, oh, man.
[00:13:03] Speaker C: Speaking of goofy faces, you remember motherfucking Max Payne?
[00:13:06] Speaker A: Oh, he had the goofiest face.
Also, goofy face is on cover a. We hear we got clown's face eating gunslinger.
[00:13:16] Speaker D: The tongue grabbing the leg is pretty.
[00:13:18] Speaker B: Oh, what?
[00:13:19] Speaker A: Yeah, he's like the sarlacc pit. He's like the great pit of carcoon over here. And he's eating him and all the omens are throwing him in there.
[00:13:27] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:13:29] Speaker C: Yeah, it's just like he's a piece.
[00:13:30] Speaker B: Of popcorn in the. And this is the Bret booth.
[00:13:33] Speaker A: You can definitely tell.
[00:13:34] Speaker B: Drop him in. Yeah. Oh, no. Oh, no.
[00:13:38] Speaker C: That one omen stealing the hat.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: I know he's taking the hat.
[00:13:42] Speaker C: He's like, this is mine. But I mean, he can't have that as a trophy, know? If Gunslinger dies, then doesn't his hat disappear with him?
[00:13:49] Speaker D: An enemy reaches in his hat too. Do they just automatically get impaled on a knife? Like, does a knife just like stick through their hand as a defense mechanism?
[00:13:57] Speaker A: We know they can't pull the knives out. It's like only he can because someone in one of the issues is like, I can't get these knives out of your was.
[00:14:05] Speaker C: It's specifically clown that says, I can't get these knives.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: No, that's was like.
[00:14:10] Speaker C: That was, like, two issues ago. Yeah, it was the issue where he got hung up on a tree.
[00:14:15] Speaker B: Right.
So.
Previously in gunslinger Spawn.
I got a burp. Hold on.
[00:14:24] Speaker A: Appropriate for clown.
[00:14:28] Speaker C: You got to save that for in contact.
[00:14:29] Speaker A: I'm keeping it in, and I'm doubling it. Previously in Gunslinger Spawn.
Clown makes a compelling argument to the gunslinger. Help him take out spawn, and he will send Gunslinger home. Much to everyone's surprise, the gunslinger says, yes.
[00:14:47] Speaker C: Oh, Johnny. He said yes. Clown must have gone to Jared.
[00:14:50] Speaker A: It can only be clown.
[00:14:54] Speaker B: And we open with just, like, the universe on complete blackness, the black abyss, the crushing black. Yeah, there's nothing. And then there's something.
A portal.
So this is your second issue of Gunslinger here that you've covered on the pod.
[00:15:14] Speaker A: Logan was there in revisiting this issue. Is there any initial kind of questions going into it you had or anything.
[00:15:20] Speaker B: You were wondering about?
[00:15:22] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: I'm just trying to.
[00:15:23] Speaker D: No, I feel like when we were doing the first one through, get some good background there. There was some pretty decent background, and we covered the fact that Amy is his sister.
[00:15:35] Speaker A: That's what you got to know. Well, not spoiler. You do know it's in a different series. That's the fun of comic books. It's in a one shot called Spawn's universe. Either that, or it's in the first issue of King Spawn, which they republished in the trade paperback for Gunslinger Spawn, it's all fun.
[00:15:55] Speaker B: It's like a treasure hunt. It is.
[00:15:59] Speaker D: There's straight hell portaling in here, though, it looks like.
[00:16:02] Speaker A: Yeah, there's just hell portering to Omega Island.
[00:16:04] Speaker B: Omega island is a big part of.
[00:16:05] Speaker A: Kind of this new universe reset. It's kind of like the Death Star in a way.
[00:16:11] Speaker D: It's just like clowns base.
[00:16:12] Speaker A: Clowns base. Currently, there's a fissure down there. It's like the one place you can get through the dead zones into hell.
[00:16:19] Speaker B: Because there's, like, a small crack which.
[00:16:21] Speaker A: Actually comes into play.
[00:16:22] Speaker D: What's the deal with the dead zones? Like, what, specifically is this?
[00:16:26] Speaker B: Like, a portal to.
[00:16:27] Speaker D: The dead zones are what sucked gunslinger through. Right.
[00:16:31] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:16:32] Speaker A: If we want to get into dead zones, so they start. Okay, like, dead zones. As far as our knowledge and what we've read and cover on the show.
[00:16:38] Speaker B: So far starts in probably it's in.
[00:16:42] Speaker A: The first compendium somewhere. So somewhere between issue one and 50, there are these areas in the alley in New York that Spawn loses his powers, and he meets this angel, Bootsy, who informs him that these are dead.
[00:16:54] Speaker B: Zones that basically there's bots that can.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: Use as, like, linking between heaven, hell, and all the universes, but also it.
[00:17:04] Speaker B: Negates powers as well. Right, David?
[00:17:08] Speaker C: Yeah, because I think it's kind of like a Superman thing, where Superman on Krypton has no power, but Superman on not his world has power.
[00:17:17] Speaker B: Kazoonheit.
[00:17:19] Speaker C: So since the dead zones are kind of like a heaven to hell world on earth, then their powers are nullified. So they're kind of like neutral zones. They're basically DMZs that you can use as elevators between the realms.
[00:17:34] Speaker D: It's holy ground in the Highlander universe, basically.
[00:17:38] Speaker A: There you go.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:41] Speaker A: There's always this trope of, like, this is the area where you can fight, where you can get damage.
[00:17:45] Speaker D: But does it work the same? Like, angels are also depowered there? Like, everyone.
[00:17:50] Speaker B: Yeah, everyone is.
[00:17:53] Speaker A: So, like, for example, in Spawn v. Batman, conveniently, Gotham City, they fight in a dead zone. Batman has a fighting chance to spawn.
[00:18:01] Speaker B: Because Spawn could literally just explode him.
[00:18:04] Speaker A: From the inside, rip his heart out.
[00:18:05] Speaker C: And that's how spawn realizes that Batman is just a human and not the black demon that everybody's told.
[00:18:12] Speaker A: Yeah, he thinks. He thinks Batman's a demon. It's pretty good. I'll let you borrow that one too.
[00:18:15] Speaker B: It's pretty fun.
[00:18:16] Speaker C: Yeah, definitely.
[00:18:17] Speaker B: You got to read them.
[00:18:18] Speaker A: So, yeah, they banff here to Omega island. This is Clown's base.
[00:18:23] Speaker B: Oh, man, this is great.
[00:18:24] Speaker A: I love just the portal and the violator and all the coming through.
[00:18:30] Speaker C: I love that the portal is all, like, light and energy, but then when they're walking through it, it's got, like, a techno ring around it, so it's formed its own little technology.
Door jam.
[00:18:42] Speaker A: Yeah, it's fun. Well, it's like a permanent portal he can go to because there is, like, a base on the floor there. It probably helps him. Probably helps him hone in on where he needs to zap to.
[00:18:54] Speaker C: It looks kind of just like it's basically his stargate.
[00:18:56] Speaker A: Stargate, man. Stargate. I love that movie when I was a kid.
[00:19:00] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, dude.
[00:19:01] Speaker C: Man, I've watched that movie, like, 20 times, but I still can't remember a goddamn thing in it. The only thing I remember for sure is that one of those guards with the jackal heads, they have his body on the floor, and the rings come down, and it teleports his head.
[00:19:16] Speaker A: That's pretty cool.
[00:19:17] Speaker C: That's the only thing I remember, the Anubis guards.
[00:19:20] Speaker A: Those were awesome.
[00:19:21] Speaker D: Yeah, they were real scary. I remember when I was a kid.
[00:19:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:24] Speaker D: Oh, what?
[00:19:25] Speaker B: I had toys of that shit.
[00:19:26] Speaker A: They had some cool toys.
[00:19:27] Speaker B: Oh, man. Nice.
[00:19:28] Speaker D: I'm like a huge Kurt Russell fan, so.
[00:19:30] Speaker B: Yeah, that was definitely a fave.
[00:19:32] Speaker A: It was weird because it was like.
[00:19:33] Speaker B: One of those movies that was mystical.
[00:19:35] Speaker A: To me because I didn't initially see it when it came out, but I was curious about it. But it was my parents like, oh.
[00:19:40] Speaker D: It'S a little too adult. Video store.
[00:19:43] Speaker A: Yeah, I see it. Right? And then eventually we were old enough, my parents let us rent Stargate. I got to watch it and I was like, I thought it was like, this must be the best movie of all time because I've seen the trailer for years and curious about.
[00:19:55] Speaker C: Know, the first time I watched it was after we went to see Godzilla with Matthew Broderick for my birthday in theaters. We had a sleepover and one of my friends brought Stargate. And so we watched Godzilla, then went to my house, made pizza and watched Stargate.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: That's the role in Emmerich double feature. He directed both of those.
[00:20:18] Speaker C: No, it's just one of my friends was like, look what I brought with me, guys. And I was like, okay, well, what?
[00:20:22] Speaker A: That friend's parents were probably cinephiles and they're like, hey, take this. You do.
[00:20:25] Speaker D: AII remember Godzilla?
[00:20:32] Speaker B: It was like summer after fifth grade.
[00:20:34] Speaker D: I feel like when Matthew Brodericks came.
[00:20:36] Speaker A: Out, I think it was maybe. Yeah, fifth grade. Yeah, that seems right.
[00:20:39] Speaker B: Yeah, fifth or 6th grade, man.
Yeah.
[00:20:43] Speaker A: It was summer 97 on that movie still.
[00:20:45] Speaker C: But I liked it a lot.
[00:20:47] Speaker B: It was a good one.
[00:20:48] Speaker A: It's good. It had that Jurassic park like michael Crichton 90s feel.
[00:20:51] Speaker D: Yeah, super 90s. Super. Just like city destroying monster feel.
[00:20:56] Speaker C: My sister always refers to that one scene with the lobby full of eggs being like, in Gremlins two, where they're just hanging out in the lobby of the building because they're like, oh, there's a party. Let's party.
[00:21:11] Speaker A: Yeah, they have the baby Godzilla, so they can get like a raptor sequence in there. They're like sneaking in there.
[00:21:17] Speaker D: I remember Jean Renault just does the super elvis impersonation. He's like, oh, I remember that Elvis Presley or his. He was the king.
[00:21:33] Speaker C: He brought much more to that movie.
[00:21:35] Speaker D: His genre know is always good.
[00:21:37] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:40] Speaker C: Making a joke about the french roast not being actual french roast. And they're like, that's what it says on the can.
Okay.
[00:21:47] Speaker A: Jean Renault, if he was in Spawn, I think he'd be a good cogliostro.
[00:21:51] Speaker C: Oh, he would.
[00:21:53] Speaker D: So I watched the movie.
[00:21:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, that's right.
Yes. Cogliostro is a former hell spawn.
[00:22:00] Speaker B: That kind of.
[00:22:01] Speaker D: He still has, like, the sword or whatever that he shows in the movie.
[00:22:05] Speaker A: Yeah, that's mainly for the movie. He doesn't really use his powers. He does have powers, but they're very limited. It keeps him in his cat.
[00:22:14] Speaker C: He's got a little bit of necroplasm left over.
[00:22:17] Speaker A: Yeah, he has a cat that he keeps his necroplasmid. But he's former health spawn, who is a very material figure.
[00:22:28] Speaker C: The first health spawn, technically, was the first.
[00:22:31] Speaker A: I mean, technically. So who he is that we just found out? He's Cain from the Bible.
[00:22:36] Speaker B: Really?
[00:22:37] Speaker A: Yes, he's Cain.
He killed his brother and then went to hell, became the first hellspawn, eventually fought his way out and defected. And just wandered the earth.
[00:22:47] Speaker B: Like, messing with other hellspawns.
[00:22:49] Speaker A: Trying to find a way back to hell to become. He's another person fighting for the throne.
[00:22:56] Speaker C: Not defected, was kicked. Kicked out, was not allowed to come back in. Like, they put him on the don't let him in sign at the will call booth.
[00:23:06] Speaker A: Yeah. It's so great that we can now just say, oh, yeah, he's Cain from the Bible.
But yes, he's had many names, but he's currently a villain.
It's kind of like a magneto situation where he kind of goes back and forth. He's a Frenemy. Yeah. Or at least he's now bad.
[00:23:24] Speaker D: His own needs.
[00:23:25] Speaker A: He always serves.
[00:23:26] Speaker C: Very bad.
[00:23:26] Speaker A: He's very selfish.
He likes to think he's really indignant.
[00:23:31] Speaker C: But he became sin on this very island that we're in. On Omega island.
[00:23:35] Speaker A: Yeah. So this is Omega. It's, like, part of his origin where he comes to get his powers. That's in the main spawn series. So Omega island is kind of a linchpin to all these different series.
[00:23:47] Speaker B: Speaking of linchpins, they're pinning up the violence.
[00:23:51] Speaker A: All the beasts are just, like, cool with getting caged up.
We understand.
[00:23:58] Speaker B: A mess to deal with.
Yeah.
[00:24:02] Speaker C: The little omens just crawling in their cages.
We're talking about Godzilla, but, like, some scene from a King Kong movie.
[00:24:11] Speaker B: Johnny, we got King Kong.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: Yeah, my man.
[00:24:14] Speaker C: That means now is the perfect time to say that we need to get Peter Jackson to do a king Kong on spawn.
Three and a half hours, big bugs, no editorial oversight. Let's do it.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: I'm down.
[00:24:28] Speaker A: Let's do.
[00:24:29] Speaker C: I'd watch a three and a half hour spawn.
[00:24:30] Speaker A: I'd watch a three and a half hour spawn movie directed by Peter Jackson in a second.
[00:24:34] Speaker B: Yeah, man.
[00:24:36] Speaker C: He would pull in so much ancillary stuff and just, like, stick it in there. It would be a gold.
[00:24:42] Speaker A: Yeah, he loves that. Oh, man, maybe that's the way to go.
[00:24:45] Speaker D: Circus can play every single one of the mini clowns.
[00:24:49] Speaker A: They actually had a new interview recently. I can't remember where.
[00:24:52] Speaker B: It was in a headline with the.
[00:24:55] Speaker A: Todd father and he know, talking up the new spawn movie that's supposedly coming, starring Jamie Foxx.
[00:24:59] Speaker B: And he was like, look, they want big stars.
[00:25:02] Speaker A: We're going to get more than just Jamie Fox. He wouldn't say who, but he's like, we've got some big stars coming, so.
[00:25:07] Speaker C: We'Ll see, man, I just watched, you know, face movie, that new Luther movie on Netflix.
[00:25:16] Speaker B: Dude.
[00:25:17] Speaker D: I keep seeing the trailer for that because I loved series. I watched, like, the first two seasons or something.
[00:25:23] Speaker B: I don't think I'm.
[00:25:24] Speaker D: It's a great show on it, but I saw that he was in that movie, and I was like, oh, man, I'm gonna have to probably catch.
[00:25:30] Speaker C: Yeah, it's good, man. Andy Serkis is just great at whatever.
[00:25:35] Speaker A: Yeah, he's really good. I love him as Caesar. I love him as the cook in King Kong. I love him as Kong. He's a good Kong. He'd be a good violator. He could play violator and clown.
[00:25:45] Speaker B: Yeah, he would be great.
[00:25:47] Speaker A: Play both.
[00:25:48] Speaker B: He'd do the mocap. Oh, yeah.
[00:25:50] Speaker A: I love these omega guards. They remind me of, like, mass effect or like, I don't know what these.
[00:25:55] Speaker B: Centurion guards here, what they remind me of.
[00:25:59] Speaker C: This isn't going to make any sense to you, but maybe somebody out there will get it. They remind me of the vine from the exomanowar reboot about ten years ago. No, because they're alien bugs, basically, and they've got that many eyes.
And the real badass vine, one of their eyes will be missing. And so they'll have, like, an eye patch over, just like, one eye in the middle.
[00:26:26] Speaker D: I love that as a concept. I was just wondering, when I saw these guys the first time, I was like, so is this just, like a weird helmet, or do they really have that many eyes? Creatures?
[00:26:35] Speaker B: We don't know.
[00:26:37] Speaker A: Could be either or don't know.
[00:26:38] Speaker B: We just meeting them for the first time.
[00:26:41] Speaker C: I do like that there's all these skeletons around, like, that room that they're walking through underneath the violator chained up. It's just like skeletons everywhere.
[00:26:50] Speaker A: Yeah, hilarious. And he's like, clowns is such a jerk. He's just like, yeah, I recently killed a hell spawn here.
[00:26:57] Speaker B: Just kidding. He's like, okay, whatever, dude.
[00:27:02] Speaker D: He gives him the old comical slap. Just kidding, man.
[00:27:06] Speaker B: Just slap on the back.
[00:27:08] Speaker C: I like the automatopea is slapped.
[00:27:11] Speaker B: He's bringing him in, bringing him the island.
[00:27:14] Speaker A: He's like, you're too valuable to hurt. I'm not going to hurt you. We're going to dine like kings.
[00:27:19] Speaker C: I do like this little. It keeps flashing back to the knife, slowly getting the name carved into it. That's a fun little.
[00:27:29] Speaker D: Is this meant to be in the.
[00:27:31] Speaker A: Top of that page?
[00:27:32] Speaker D: Like have violators just like bent down and is now asleep? Or is this like another dead violator or something? What is that?
[00:27:39] Speaker A: I think it's the old violator.
[00:27:40] Speaker D: The old one.
[00:27:41] Speaker A: Isn't that a dead violator?
[00:27:43] Speaker B: Is that the old one?
[00:27:45] Speaker C: Could it be one of his brothers?
[00:27:48] Speaker A: It could be one of his brothers. It could be the original violator for him because he used to be not as beefy. Yeah, I think it might be that but yeah, I'm not sure. I think it's like a dead violator.
[00:27:59] Speaker C: So you're saying that maybe when the clown and violator personas got split that the violator was like a bug and just shed its old skin?
[00:28:07] Speaker A: Oh yeah, that could leave it around.
[00:28:09] Speaker C: He's like a tarantula.
[00:28:11] Speaker D: Back split open and beat. The clown just crawls out.
[00:28:14] Speaker A: He's just like, here I am. That means pounds.
[00:28:20] Speaker B: That means butthole.
[00:28:22] Speaker C: Other older brothers can just pick up the old violator skins and throw them at their younger siblings and be like, ha. I got you.
[00:28:30] Speaker B: Then we got our opening quote where.
[00:28:32] Speaker A: He says, please tell if you're not vegetarian.
[00:28:34] Speaker B: And he doesn't even know what that means.
[00:28:37] Speaker A: That's just a great interaction.
[00:28:39] Speaker C: Excellent.
[00:28:40] Speaker B: Oh man.
[00:28:41] Speaker C: I like how there's a whole ass turkey and a whole ass pig. Actually, there's like a turkey and a chicken.
[00:28:47] Speaker A: Turkey. A chicken. A pig. Like a whole rack of ribs?
[00:28:50] Speaker B: Or is that prime rib?
[00:28:55] Speaker C: Maybe it's lamb shape lamb. Shake those french tips.
[00:29:00] Speaker B: Oh, wow.
[00:29:01] Speaker C: It looks like there's a ham behind the pig.
[00:29:04] Speaker D: There's definitely just some chickens and stuff.
[00:29:06] Speaker B: There's a little ham behind the pig.
[00:29:10] Speaker C: Is that just a bowl of olives?
[00:29:12] Speaker A: Olives or Brussels sprouts maybe?
[00:29:15] Speaker C: I like the salt and pepper shakers.
[00:29:17] Speaker D: Like a little pie.
[00:29:19] Speaker A: Some corn.
[00:29:20] Speaker D: Just some random corn.
[00:29:21] Speaker C: Yeah, just like, there's a little pie.
[00:29:23] Speaker A: Loves corn, man.
[00:29:25] Speaker C: Bret Booth was fucking made for this.
[00:29:27] Speaker A: Yeah, Bret Booth always has such good details in the background and on all the little food stuff.
[00:29:32] Speaker C: Like, he's even got, like, way in the back distance, there's utensils next to the plates.
[00:29:37] Speaker B: Got to get all the details in there.
[00:29:39] Speaker A: So basically, Spawn's like, all right, all right, I'll sit down here.
[00:29:44] Speaker D: He tells him it's covered in a cloaking device.
[00:29:47] Speaker A: Yeah, it'll make more sense after a few glasses of wine, Logan, as the clown says. Yeah.
[00:29:53] Speaker B: But basically, he's just kind of like, this is a little bit of, like.
[00:29:59] Speaker A: Explaining as why this island can exist and never get attacked by Spawn or anybody. It's just the comic book thing of, like. Yeah, you can't see.
[00:30:07] Speaker D: I love the close up on the giant, spiky wrist of Spawn there.
[00:30:14] Speaker A: That would hurt so much if he hitting with that.
[00:30:18] Speaker D: Across the face.
[00:30:20] Speaker B: I like how he has the party.
[00:30:22] Speaker A: City Halloween wine glasses too.
[00:30:28] Speaker C: I've definitely seen those at multiple Halloween.
[00:30:30] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, totally.
[00:30:31] Speaker A: They remind me of that.
[00:30:32] Speaker B: And I love that would be clown.
[00:30:34] Speaker A: Just to have those. You'd see those are cool. And you just get.
They're like, totally, like, flimsy plastic. But that's just clown man.
[00:30:44] Speaker C: He's a style over substance.
[00:30:46] Speaker A: Style over substance.
[00:30:47] Speaker B: And his style can be a little cheesy.
Yeah, he's a little gaudy, rude, crude.
[00:30:54] Speaker C: And tacky, as my mom would say.
[00:30:56] Speaker A: He pours in this wine, and gunslinger is just like, nope, no, I'm a whiskey man. Of course. Like, come on, it's a gunslinger.
[00:31:03] Speaker B: You don't want wine.
[00:31:04] Speaker A: That's juice.
[00:31:05] Speaker C: And then we get the whiskey. And I love how small the whiskey glass is.
[00:31:14] Speaker B: I'll tell you what, though.
[00:31:15] Speaker A: I love, usually Robin places do in, like, japanese restaurants, I love having, like, a bottle of beer in that little beer glass. And you pour it in there a little bit at a time. I don't know why I love that so much.
[00:31:24] Speaker B: Yeah, it keeps the beer colder, I guess. Yeah, it's super fun.
[00:31:28] Speaker C: It makes you feel like a giant too.
[00:31:29] Speaker A: It makes you feel like a giant. I like little glasses.
[00:31:33] Speaker B: Yeah, little glasses are fun.
[00:31:35] Speaker A: A toast to the future and to the past. They just have a nice, lovely dinner, it looks like.
[00:31:39] Speaker D: Is clown supposed to have been around since.
[00:31:44] Speaker B: All of the spawns probably know of clown.
[00:31:49] Speaker D: He's been around since forever.
[00:31:51] Speaker B: All don't know of him, but he's.
[00:31:54] Speaker A: Been around since then. Yeah.
[00:31:55] Speaker B: Okay. He built a symbiote. Yeah, he was part of the initial.
[00:31:59] Speaker C: Project, he was supposed to be, like, the trainer of all new spawns, but he didn't do his job very well because he doesn't like that humans gets to wear the symbiotes.
[00:32:10] Speaker A: So Malbolgi cursed him to become a clown as, like, his human form, which he hates. It's not his choice.
[00:32:16] Speaker D: Yeah, I love that it says that he's that gunslinger mostly listens.
[00:32:25] Speaker B: Okay, cool story, man.
[00:32:28] Speaker C: I like the chairs. Match the glasses with just skull chairs.
[00:32:35] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[00:32:37] Speaker A: They both got their cloaks. There's some big cloak action at the table.
[00:32:40] Speaker D: Yeah, both cloaks.
[00:32:41] Speaker A: You don't want to be a waiter behind that. You'd be tripping over those.
[00:32:44] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:32:46] Speaker C: Well, also, you don't want to be a waiter there anyway, because clown is not very nice to his waiters.
[00:32:50] Speaker A: Oh, no, he's awful. Calls him servants, first of all. And then, just, like, boss him around later. He gets happy. Like, dismiss a guy because he's a low life.
[00:33:01] Speaker B: That's later.
[00:33:02] Speaker A: So just like Logan did. Tell me how that dead zone stuff works. It's darn interesting. Ask Gunslinger.
[00:33:07] Speaker B: It's a clown.
[00:33:08] Speaker C: I love the brand of whiskey they have, Bob Randall.
[00:33:13] Speaker B: I love how, as this knife kind of pans, you see, there's definitely the.
[00:33:18] Speaker D: Tease of blood on it and was like. I'm definitely like, what's going on with this past memory that he's seeing here with the knife and obviously bloody.
[00:33:29] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that was cool. In that last panel.
[00:33:32] Speaker D: Adds the blood, and he's doing, like, you get to see his face here, which I feel like is the first time.
[00:33:37] Speaker A: Maybe in these, he shows it earlier.
[00:33:42] Speaker B: In, like, two or three.
[00:33:43] Speaker A: He shows it. He shows it to Taylor. He doesn't do it too often, we find out because it deteriorates the body.
We didn't know that until recently, though. But the reason why he doesn't do it all the time is because he's.
[00:33:56] Speaker B: Borrowing this body, which we don't know.
[00:33:59] Speaker A: How or why, but we're finding out right now in Gunslinger, it's just started getting into his actual origin, so it's.
[00:34:06] Speaker C: Doing that right now.
[00:34:07] Speaker A: So you'll get there soon.
[00:34:08] Speaker B: Yeah, man.
[00:34:09] Speaker C: And this Javi's face is exceptionally handsome here. Like, more handsome than it has been.
[00:34:14] Speaker B: Look at him.
[00:34:16] Speaker C: I was thinking maybe they could hire or they could cast Matt Bomer as Gunslinger, because Matt Bomer is like, the smaller, more affordable version of Henry Cavill.
[00:34:27] Speaker B: What's Matt Bomer in?
[00:34:31] Speaker C: Oh, jeez.
He was Superman on some cw.
[00:34:35] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:34:35] Speaker A: I know you're talking about. He's a handsome devil. He doesn't kind of look like the.
[00:34:42] Speaker C: I mean, I would say he's in Doom patrol, but he always has bandages on his face.
[00:34:47] Speaker A: As Superman.
[00:34:48] Speaker C: No, he plays, oh, he's the pilot. He plays negative man. Yeah, he's the pilot in cool.
[00:34:55] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:34:56] Speaker A: Yeah, that new doom patrol, I think comes out this week, that comic.
[00:35:00] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, nice.
[00:35:01] Speaker A: I'm probably going to check it out.
[00:35:02] Speaker C: Man, doom patrol is fucking.
[00:35:03] Speaker D: I heard that show is awesome, but.
[00:35:04] Speaker B: I haven't watched any of it yet.
[00:35:06] Speaker A: I watched about half the first season.
[00:35:07] Speaker B: It's good.
[00:35:08] Speaker C: It's great. It's wacky.
[00:35:10] Speaker B: It's.
[00:35:10] Speaker A: Oscar winner Brendan Frazier.
[00:35:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:12] Speaker D: Oscar winner Brendan Fraser.
[00:35:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:35:14] Speaker D: Dude, I am just like this feels know when there was like the McConnell Saints and everybody was like, mcConaughey's back doing good movies. Or like now I feel like it's like the Brendan, the Frazier saunce and I'm just like, dude, I want another mummy with actual Rachel vice coming back for it. I'm just like, come on, man, let's do it.
[00:35:33] Speaker B: I want to see.
[00:35:34] Speaker C: I've, we've been pro Frasier sans over here for years.
[00:35:39] Speaker B: Yeah, man.
[00:35:40] Speaker C: Like, since Doom Patrol started coming out, I was like, everybody, this is great. Get Brendan Fraser back in things.
[00:35:46] Speaker A: I don't want to be a sourpuss.
[00:35:49] Speaker B: I didn't like the whale too much.
Logan liked it more than I did.
[00:35:54] Speaker D: I liked it.
[00:35:54] Speaker C: I have no intention of watching the whale, honestly.
Darren Aronofsky, the bloom is off that rose for me.
[00:36:01] Speaker A: You didn't like mother.
[00:36:02] Speaker B: It was fun.
[00:36:03] Speaker C: I didn't like mother. I didn't watch it.
[00:36:05] Speaker D: I didn't like mother.
[00:36:06] Speaker C: It was fun watching his early movies, like as a high schooler, being like, whoa, this is some fucked up shit.
[00:36:11] Speaker D: But then, dude, mother to me was like, man, because growing up so much with in church and everything like that, and I was like, the whole time watching Mother and I was like, man, this is just going to be some bullshit metaphor of just like God and stuff. And then when it got to that at the end and everybody was like, mother's so good, man. I was like, for real.
That's it for me. When I watched it, I was like, that's cool. All right. It was just like, okay.
[00:36:38] Speaker A: I liked it because like high school David. I was like, oh, shit, that's fucked up.
[00:36:41] Speaker B: That's why I liked it. Yeah, we got ripped.
[00:36:43] Speaker C: I found, I found Black Swan to be.
[00:36:48] Speaker B: Was.
[00:36:49] Speaker C: It was like we all knew where it was going and it was like, just come on, man.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: Sometimes it's about the David. Yeah.
[00:36:58] Speaker A: That song. That song. Whatever. That scary song from that. That was almost our theme song for the show, because it's in the public domain.
[00:37:06] Speaker B: It was one of the things I threw.
[00:37:07] Speaker A: I had, like, a list of things before we had the guts to ask Brian. Which was silly that we just didn't.
[00:37:12] Speaker B: Think of that originally, or that I didn't think of that.
[00:37:16] Speaker C: We were both, like, fan of the opera.
[00:37:19] Speaker A: Yeah, we both said fan of the opera. We were both like, let's do that.
I mean, Spawn's got a fan of the opera.
[00:37:29] Speaker C: He's very dramatic.
[00:37:30] Speaker B: Dramatic. I was watching. I got home last night, and I was just like.
[00:37:34] Speaker A: I was buzing. Because it was Spawn Eve. I was flipping through the issues and.
[00:37:38] Speaker B: Reading them, and I put on the.
[00:37:41] Speaker A: Spawn animated series, because we just talked about earlier in the day, Logan and I.
[00:37:46] Speaker B: And I was like, I'll pop that on. And I watched the first episode, and it's just so.
[00:37:56] Speaker A: He's just screaming so much about Wanda and just in so much pain. It's awesome.
[00:38:01] Speaker B: It's just so much pathos.
[00:38:03] Speaker D: I added that, and I haven't started it yet, but I need to.
[00:38:06] Speaker B: It's fun.
[00:38:07] Speaker A: Definitely worth checking out.
[00:38:08] Speaker B: It looked cool. Yeah, it's good. It's good.
[00:38:13] Speaker C: They get to see the todfather every time.
[00:38:15] Speaker A: Oh, my God. I was cracking. Up top. McFarland does, like, an intro to every episode. Every episode. Like 90s style, like factor fiction, like Jonathan Frakes.
[00:38:25] Speaker B: It's like that.
[00:38:26] Speaker A: This one was great. It's like the first one.
[00:38:28] Speaker B: He's like.
[00:38:28] Speaker A: He's like, you got 15 seconds to answer. You die. A voice from the darkness says, you have your life back.
[00:38:33] Speaker B: What do you say?
[00:38:34] Speaker A: Guess what? You better think about it. Because Al Simmons didn't have a chance to think about it. He died, and he said yes, like that, and it ruined his life forever.
It's like, what? It's so intense and great. It's awesome.
[00:38:46] Speaker B: I love it.
[00:38:46] Speaker A: So not so intense, more just jovial.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: They're hanging out, having dinner, and he's grilling him.
[00:38:53] Speaker A: He's using this, like the classic, like, let's get him drunk, and I'll grill about stuff. So he's finding about the dead zones, and this is a set up to some stuff that happens in scorched.
[00:39:03] Speaker B: Because basically he's like, spawn knows where.
[00:39:06] Speaker A: The dead zones are. You need to go find Spawn. And that's kind of his next journey in this, actually. But, yeah, he's just telling them all about the dead. Zones. And he's like, yeah, I'm going to take him over. It's going to be great. And then I'll help you.
[00:39:18] Speaker B: I love this moment where he does.
[00:39:21] Speaker A: The joke back to the clown where he's like.
[00:39:24] Speaker B: They're talking.
[00:39:24] Speaker A: He's like, unless I kill you first. And the clown turns sober.
[00:39:28] Speaker B: I'm kidding. Slap.
[00:39:30] Speaker C: Slaps him so hard. Look at that clown face.
[00:39:34] Speaker A: Whoa.
[00:39:34] Speaker C: He's like.
[00:39:36] Speaker B: But he loves it.
Yeah. Oh, man.
[00:39:40] Speaker C: If he had a heart, he would have had an attack.
Classic attack, in quotes.
[00:39:48] Speaker B: He doesn't have a heart. What if he means figuratively or literally? Spawn ripped it out. Does his clown form? Yeah, I mean, spawn's probably ripped out.
[00:39:57] Speaker A: His heart, like, multiple. Multiple times.
[00:39:58] Speaker B: Yeah, he probably doesn't have one.
[00:40:00] Speaker C: And then dude, man comes up with a cake.
[00:40:02] Speaker D: Yeah, this dude that's like, this forearm demon.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: One horn demon.
[00:40:07] Speaker B: Man.
[00:40:09] Speaker C: They should make a figure of this guy.
[00:40:10] Speaker B: He comes with a cake and a towel.
Yeah, sir. And I like how he says dessert.
[00:40:17] Speaker A: As you requested, two layers joined together. And it's like, clowns that poetic. Like, oh, yes. In honor of my new partner.
[00:40:27] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:40:29] Speaker A: And then Javi does a little.
[00:40:30] Speaker C: We don't consummate this in front of peasants.
[00:40:35] Speaker A: He's appealing to clowns evilness and his, like, just fusion to pieces ship. That's so funny. Like, yeah, we don't consummate this in front of peasants. Yeah, get out of here.
[00:40:45] Speaker B: Go.
[00:40:45] Speaker C: Leave us.
[00:40:46] Speaker A: And then we're having whiskey and cake.
[00:40:48] Speaker B: A little better than beer and cake, Johnny.
[00:40:52] Speaker C: We keep ragging on that dude for.
[00:40:55] Speaker B: Having beer and cake.
[00:40:57] Speaker C: I had some beer and some cake together a couple weeks ago, and it's not as bad. It's not a melt stop.
[00:41:03] Speaker A: That'd probably be pretty good.
[00:41:06] Speaker C: I mean, it's not as good as, like, some chips in a beer.
[00:41:11] Speaker B: Cake.
[00:41:11] Speaker D: In my mind, it makes it sound better with beer.
[00:41:14] Speaker B: I don't know why that sounds.
[00:41:16] Speaker A: I mean, ice cream with anything is better.
[00:41:19] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:41:19] Speaker C: Ice cream is fucking great.
I'm starting to have dreams about Brahms again. I need to.
[00:41:26] Speaker D: It's like a beer float, a thing. Like a nice stout with, like.
[00:41:30] Speaker A: Oh, I think so.
[00:41:30] Speaker C: Yeah. People do that.
[00:41:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:41:32] Speaker A: I mean, I can't have ice cream in my house. Or I wake up in the middle.
[00:41:35] Speaker B: Of the night and I eat it.
[00:41:37] Speaker A: I'll find myself waking by the freezer 330.
[00:41:44] Speaker C: You wake up on the floor, just, like, with your face is all sticky, you've got empty tubs all around you, and you're like, what happened?
[00:41:51] Speaker A: What did we do ask Wanda. It's not that far from the truth.
[00:41:54] Speaker B: It's really not.
[00:41:57] Speaker A: I have, like, in my sleep, go puffed ice cream to myself. Not really, but about to fall asleep. You know what? I can use some ice cream and just order, like, six pints of it.
[00:42:06] Speaker D: You wake up with your phone in your hand, and there's just, like, six pints in a go puff cart.
[00:42:11] Speaker A: Did I order this?
[00:42:12] Speaker B: Did I do that?
[00:42:13] Speaker A: And luckily, if you order it in the winter, Chicago, and you fall asleep, it's still frozen when you wake up and get it the next day.
So no ice cream here. Just cake and whiskey. Lots and lots of whiskey.
[00:42:25] Speaker C: Lots of whiskey. Man, why do they have so many glasses?
[00:42:28] Speaker A: Use the same glass, for God's sake. Yeah.
[00:42:31] Speaker B: What? Yeah, maybe they're, like, really?
[00:42:34] Speaker A: I mean, he was very purist about joining the two layers for the dinner. Maybe he was purist about, like, there's different pairings of different whiskey for different.
[00:42:42] Speaker B: Layers of the cake, and so he.
[00:42:44] Speaker A: Had to have multiple glasses, because if you're a purist and you're tasting whiskeys.
[00:42:47] Speaker B: You don't want to mix the glasses or you just want to rinse in between.
[00:42:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, there's definitely multiple different bottles there, too, for sure.
[00:42:58] Speaker A: Yeah, they're not only drinking.
[00:42:59] Speaker D: I mean, it is long into the night as it.
[00:43:02] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. They're not only drinking.
[00:43:04] Speaker A: Bob Ross, or whatever the name of the whiskey was.
[00:43:07] Speaker B: Bob Randall. Bob Randall.
[00:43:10] Speaker A: And Javi here, he's very european. He's enjoying a cigarette after his meal or maybe a joint, we're not sure.
[00:43:15] Speaker B: But he's just enjoying it.
[00:43:17] Speaker A: Very french of him.
[00:43:19] Speaker C: And then he stabs a knife into clown's head.
[00:43:21] Speaker A: That's not very french.
[00:43:22] Speaker D: I love the classic.
[00:43:23] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:24] Speaker D: Like, interrogation and the tape. Pin the hand to the table move.
[00:43:28] Speaker B: Always a good move. I like how he just, like, does it.
[00:43:31] Speaker A: Punches his head in the ground, and it just, like, rips it back out real quick. He's just like, bam, bam, bam.
[00:43:35] Speaker D: You get the cool frame of the face covering, like, going back on him with, like, one eye and bit still, like, out.
[00:43:46] Speaker B: As he's, like, forming a symbiote, he.
[00:43:49] Speaker C: Just stabs the knife right into clown's forehead.
[00:43:52] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[00:43:52] Speaker A: As he's pulling on the ponytail.
[00:43:54] Speaker D: The ponytail.
[00:43:54] Speaker B: It's like this shot of clown getting.
[00:43:58] Speaker D: Up, like, just giant and ripping the knife out of his own head. And just being, like, towering over a gunslinger is wild.
[00:44:05] Speaker A: Yeah, it's pretty cool. Javi's a brave motherfucker.
[00:44:08] Speaker C: He's so fucking big.
[00:44:10] Speaker D: He's fucking so huge.
[00:44:12] Speaker B: And then clown does the course of.
[00:44:13] Speaker A: Villain thing of, like, all these cool mass effect looking guards running with these guns.
[00:44:17] Speaker B: He's like, no, I'll do it. Leave your halo. Guns be. Do not shoot him.
[00:44:23] Speaker D: I love how he's like, let me demonstrate what I'm capable of doing again, lest we forget, like, a little bit ago, I just ripped up a tree and threw it, like, a thousand feet.
[00:44:35] Speaker A: Clown's really high on being powerful because he was a little short Danny DeVito, man. And now he's a big Andre the giant man.
[00:44:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:44:46] Speaker A: And so now he loves showing stuff.
[00:44:49] Speaker D: Off, like, breaks him in half to where his guts explode.
[00:44:52] Speaker A: That looks like. That really hurts. And that's a gross noise. The glitch.
[00:44:56] Speaker D: Glitch? Glitch with all the, just, like, the.
[00:44:58] Speaker B: Gore, sinew, cartilage, and muscle rip away from their bones.
[00:45:03] Speaker C: He is the weakest telespawn.
[00:45:06] Speaker A: I don't like seeing Javy dead.
[00:45:07] Speaker B: But he's not dead.
[00:45:09] Speaker C: He's not dead. Javy's being a stinker again.
[00:45:12] Speaker A: Bugs, money, little like.
[00:45:16] Speaker C: Hey, what's up, clown?
[00:45:18] Speaker A: You just killed your old guy.
[00:45:19] Speaker B: So, yeah.
[00:45:20] Speaker D: What, he just, like, just, like, switched or. He has some kind of, like, illusion powers?
[00:45:25] Speaker A: He has illusion powers.
Later he does it with some wolves. He's able to, while he's the weakest hellspawn, he's the trickster hell spawn.
[00:45:36] Speaker C: But he's got that shadow ability where he can cloud men's minds. Yeah, but he has to have something to ensorcel to make the magic go. So he can't just create a figure out of nothing.
[00:45:50] Speaker D: Put it over something.
[00:45:52] Speaker C: Yeah, he has to put a charm over something.
[00:45:54] Speaker A: Like, one time he does it with a wolf. One time he does it with a different guard.
[00:45:57] Speaker B: Like, he does it a few times.
[00:45:59] Speaker A: A little magic and some booze. That's all that would.
[00:46:02] Speaker B: A good opening quote.
[00:46:06] Speaker C: That's all it takes. Did I show you my breasts?
[00:46:09] Speaker A: I know, that's hilarious. So much of that.
Yeah, that is all it takes.
[00:46:13] Speaker B: A little magic and some booze, and I'm off.
[00:46:15] Speaker A: My.
[00:46:18] Speaker C: Would take. It would take even less time for clown to get distracted with some breasts. So that's what Javi should have done. He should have had Jessica priest on speed dial and been like, hey, Jessica, I need you for, like, half a second to distract clown.
[00:46:33] Speaker D: Jessica Priest puts another of his minions, just like, as Jessica priest over here. He just pulls out a sexy no jitsu on him.
[00:46:43] Speaker A: Like, yeah, there's a later issue where they meet and she is, like, to nag him in a way. She transforms in front of him but gets naked from she swan to regular, and it completely distracts him, and she kicks his ass, and she's like, that's all it takes. Me show you my breast. You're pathetic.
This is Gunslinger's version of that's all it takes.
[00:47:06] Speaker B: I show you some booze and some magic.
[00:47:09] Speaker A: That was a lot of booze, though.
[00:47:10] Speaker B: Come on, Javi.
[00:47:12] Speaker C: That is a lot of booze. I would be dead. D-E-D.
Like a cadre of armed centurions.
[00:47:20] Speaker D: Definitely mass effect looking.
[00:47:22] Speaker C: I guess he'll have to kill them too.
[00:47:23] Speaker B: And then they just get gunned down real quick.
[00:47:26] Speaker A: I mean, these guys both have to be blackout drunk right now.
[00:47:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:47:29] Speaker A: Javi and clown, unless they have some, like, they could metabolize. Like, they can use their demon powers. Like, quickly metabolize the alcohol.
[00:47:36] Speaker B: Got to be what happened.
[00:47:38] Speaker C: It's like synthahol and Star Trek where you can get drunk, but they have it so that way you can think yourself sober.
[00:47:44] Speaker D: What if he's just using the symbiote as he's, like, drinking? He's only getting clown drunk. He just is making, like, a straw out of the symbiote, out the side of his mouth. It just goes out trailing on the ground. He's like, oh, yeah, that was good.
[00:47:57] Speaker A: Yeah. Let's have another one. One more whiskey, please.
[00:48:01] Speaker B: Like, when they do.
[00:48:02] Speaker C: If they were to do a toast, just, like, a little scene of every time clown takes a drink, javi just, like, throws it over his shoulder.
Oh, my God.
[00:48:10] Speaker A: I had a friend one time in college.
[00:48:12] Speaker B: We had to do that too.
[00:48:14] Speaker A: He got so drunk, and by the point, it was water shots. And then at one point, we were just giving him air shots, and he didn't even notice he was still doing them, and we were just like, okay.
[00:48:26] Speaker D: Some to call it bud.
[00:48:28] Speaker B: Yeah. These, like, many minions would be a terrifying omen army.
[00:48:33] Speaker A: The omens would be terrifying.
[00:48:35] Speaker B: Yeah, they're just like little clown pugs. Yeah.
[00:48:40] Speaker C: Guess the children will have to take care of it, then.
[00:48:43] Speaker D: They remind me of the old cartoon hobbit. Like, the goblins on it with just, like, the crazy wide opening mouths that are just, like, full of teeth.
[00:48:55] Speaker A: There's, like, on the rankin and bass hobbit.
[00:49:00] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah.
[00:49:01] Speaker C: Not banking and wrath on the.
[00:49:07] Speaker B: Man.
[00:49:07] Speaker C: I like. I like this one omen on Javi's hand. It looks kind of like he's trying to play a. Got Javy's hand in the gun, or.
[00:49:15] Speaker A: He'S just trying to eat the gun.
[00:49:16] Speaker D: Yeah, he's like in a chomp a gun.
[00:49:18] Speaker C: I can imagine the little omens just being off trying to do like, little bitty rockstar things like air guitar and shit. That would be fun.
[00:49:27] Speaker A: They're kind of like the raving rabbits. The raving rabbits?
[00:49:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
Or the.
[00:49:32] Speaker A: I guess the minions. They're like evil. The minions.
[00:49:35] Speaker B: Evil minions.
[00:49:36] Speaker C: They're like mom wraths with crazy sharp teeth.
[00:49:40] Speaker A: What's a mom wrath is.
[00:49:42] Speaker C: It's a little bitty weirdo plant thing, animal creature.
They're outgrabed, Johnny. They're out grave.
[00:49:51] Speaker D: I love that clown. Gives him the idea where he likes my animals.
[00:49:58] Speaker C: Like wolves. I can control those animals, so I can control these.
[00:50:02] Speaker A: So animals don't have any innocence. What the hell?
[00:50:04] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:50:05] Speaker B: What?
[00:50:05] Speaker C: Yeah.
The logic there is a little messed up.
I don't know if they're equating innocence with actively choosing to be good or bad, whereas animals are just like, what they are.
[00:50:22] Speaker A: I think that's what he means.
[00:50:23] Speaker C: They don't specifically decide, oh, hey, I'm going to be a butt today.
[00:50:26] Speaker B: Hey.
[00:50:26] Speaker A: I was killed by Billy Kincaid, and now I'm an evil minion. My soul's now turned into this. I have no choice.
[00:50:33] Speaker B: I do like how these ones all.
[00:50:34] Speaker C: Have different sized eyes.
[00:50:37] Speaker D: I like the cool shots always of the classic western shot of the close up face with the hat down.
[00:50:45] Speaker A: So he uses his animal powers.
[00:50:47] Speaker B: That's one of his other big powers, his animals. And he takes over the minions and.
[00:50:53] Speaker A: Sends them on to clowns.
[00:50:56] Speaker C: Nearly 50 of them, hissing and foaming at the mouth. Nearly 50.
[00:51:00] Speaker B: Holy shit.
[00:51:02] Speaker C: Billy Kincaid got. He, like, at least doubled his body count, John.
[00:51:06] Speaker A: I mean, he's probably been killing people.
[00:51:07] Speaker B: In the afterlife, man. Yeah, that's a lot. Yeah.
[00:51:13] Speaker D: I didn't realize there was that many of them, just by what you see. I was like, yeah, there's probably, like twelve or something, but Gunslinger is just.
[00:51:21] Speaker B: Like, well, thanks for telling me that it was spawn.
[00:51:24] Speaker A: Now, I'm going to leave you to your own devices.
[00:51:27] Speaker C: I like the background of clown getting attacked while Javi just walks away smoking a cigarette.
[00:51:32] Speaker D: The one's like, trying to pull his tongue out of.
[00:51:35] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Yeah, you know, and he says, remind yourself one thing. Wild animals, whatever monsters you throw my way, they'll obey me, not you.
[00:51:45] Speaker B: He goes back and he's like, oh, hey, violator, I think I just made myself a masterpiece.
[00:51:54] Speaker A: He does a little Aldo rain action.
[00:51:56] Speaker D: On the way out.
[00:51:57] Speaker B: Right at the end, cars Amy's name into his leg.
[00:52:01] Speaker C: He's getting practice at tagging. He's going to hook up with Taylor, and they're going to ride around town at night doing toss ups of the word Amy all around town. They're going to go all city, and that's it.
[00:52:13] Speaker A: That's kind of the end of the first arc of gunslinger here. He gets a new mission. He kind of gets some direction to go find spawn.
[00:52:20] Speaker B: Power meters.
[00:52:21] Speaker A: Getting low, always low. Nine, four, three. There it is, gunslinger. Spawn number six. Except for we got the spawning ground. Don't forget our mailbag here.
[00:52:30] Speaker C: Please, please keep making King spawn books. Johnny, did you write?
[00:52:34] Speaker A: I wrote all these letters, actually, a lot of these letters. No, Curtis is just begging, don't stop writing.
Don't stop writing. King Spawn. And of course, Thomas is like, don't.
[00:52:47] Speaker B: Worry, don't worry, don't worry.
[00:52:49] Speaker A: I love that.
[00:52:50] Speaker B: This is the one eon, I think is the name.
No, which 01:00 a.m..
[00:52:56] Speaker A: I talking about? There it is. Matthew. The one from Matthew. He says that his favorite spawn cover is king Spawn number one.
[00:53:03] Speaker B: Guess what?
[00:53:03] Speaker A: That is, like, my favorite spawn cover, too. It's one of my favorites, at least.
[00:53:07] Speaker B: Yeah. I love that.
You're going to have to go fight.
[00:53:11] Speaker C: Matthew for that signed and sketched puppeteer leave ad.
[00:53:14] Speaker B: No, it's great.
[00:53:15] Speaker A: I mean, that king spawn cover arguably got me back into spawns. I walked in and saw that at.
[00:53:20] Speaker B: Challengers, and I was like, whoa, I.
[00:53:22] Speaker A: Got to check that.
You can see it there, David. It's like a renaissance painting of spawn standing there.
[00:53:30] Speaker C: Yeah, it is.
[00:53:31] Speaker B: No, it's really cool.
[00:53:33] Speaker A: And then Thomas throws out there that one of his favorites is the Greg.
[00:53:36] Speaker B: Capullo gunslinger cover, which we'll have to.
[00:53:40] Speaker A: Remember that picture there, that gunslinger on a horse, I think, for a little later in the episode, won't we, David?
[00:53:45] Speaker C: I think we might.
[00:53:46] Speaker A: Okay, we'll put a pin in that.
[00:53:50] Speaker C: Johnny. And here's us being stupid again, because literally here in the spawning grounds, this is. There was a villain named the curse that I thought came back.
[00:53:58] Speaker A: We haven't seen him. Remember?
[00:54:00] Speaker C: We were like, the curse.
He's a new villain. The curse.
[00:54:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:54:07] Speaker C: No, Johnny, why are we so bad at remembering things that we've read?
[00:54:12] Speaker A: I wasn't that into spawn yet, and also, like, the curse hadn't been reintroduced into scorched yet. It does cool that they know that much ahead of time and all that and are teasing it out pretty well. That's fun to know.
[00:54:25] Speaker C: It's real good stuff. I like that they're important details. They sprinkle into the spawning grounds like a long running television show. On the. Previously on. They'll always include things that are definitely going to be important for the later.
[00:54:41] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, later.
Good episode of loss. And they showed the previously on. As a bunch of stuff you're into. You're like, oh, they're going to be in this episode.
[00:54:48] Speaker C: Or it's like one remark four seasons ago that was just tossed off, and they throw it in there and like, why would they do that? But it's important right now.
[00:54:57] Speaker A: It's good letters. I agree with all these letters. These are all great covers.
[00:55:01] Speaker B: They're absolutely great.
[00:55:02] Speaker C: I like how somebody's like, this cover shows an old style medieval spawn. Does that mean anything? It's talking about conspiracies. It's like, what are they trying to tell us?
[00:55:12] Speaker A: Is there an old school medieval spawn coming? Are there going to be two medieval spawns?
[00:55:15] Speaker B: What's happening?
[00:55:16] Speaker A: And then Thomas says, like we always.
[00:55:18] Speaker B: Do, the covers are just fun interpretations, you know, cool.
[00:55:21] Speaker A: King Spawn. Oh, God.
[00:55:23] Speaker B: Gunslinger spawn number six.
[00:55:26] Speaker A: That's it, baby.
[00:55:26] Speaker B: That's the one.
[00:55:27] Speaker A: That's a good, fun dinner. We get the eating. I love it. Well, I'll save some of that for the review later.
[00:55:32] Speaker C: The upcoming cover on the back, it sounds like what Logan referenced last time he was here, where it was the.
[00:55:39] Speaker A: Gun with the, like, there's that also, I think you're talking about the one with the green. There was all kind of green veins. Yeah, that was like the steampunk looking one.
[00:55:51] Speaker D: Yeah, it was like.
[00:55:52] Speaker B: Yeah, looked like a bunch of just.
[00:55:54] Speaker D: Like, crazy demon growth or something.
[00:55:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm excited to get into that.
[00:55:59] Speaker A: I don't remember. That's really gunslinger. The next few issues will be interesting. I haven't reread those in a bit.
[00:56:04] Speaker C: Man, that's a muzzle loader revolver.
[00:56:06] Speaker B: That would be the old cat.
[00:56:08] Speaker C: That would be so much more work for Javi to put together.
[00:56:12] Speaker B: Muzzle loader.
[00:56:13] Speaker A: You mean you got to take the muzle off?
[00:56:15] Speaker D: No, you take the cylinder out, basically, and you have to pack each cylinder with gunpowder wad and then a ball on top of it. And you have to pack all six of them to reload every single time instead of just putting cartridges in.
[00:56:32] Speaker A: Okay. So you get, like, six shots and you're done.
[00:56:34] Speaker D: I mean, you probably don't. If you have, like, spawn magic.
[00:56:37] Speaker A: Yeah, use some spawn magic on it.
[00:56:39] Speaker C: Well, you probably only have five shots.
[00:56:42] Speaker B: Because if you have one loaded on.
[00:56:45] Speaker C: The muzzle as you walk around, it'll probably just fall out.
[00:56:51] Speaker A: Classic.
Well, I would have used some of my spawn magic here.
To summon another issue from Spawn's universe.
[00:57:07] Speaker B: And today, second up, we got scorch number 14.
[00:57:13] Speaker C: Scorch 14.
[00:57:15] Speaker D: Not titty edition.
[00:57:16] Speaker C: Not number. Titty edition number 17.
[00:57:19] Speaker A: It does open with some.
A buxom lady.
[00:57:24] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, there's some cleavage.
[00:57:27] Speaker A: Yeah, you open it up. Hey, whoa. We're getting ahead of ourselves. Hey, you get a bonk.
[00:57:31] Speaker B: Logan gets a bonk. Logan gets a bonk.
[00:57:35] Speaker A: Because Logan's getting horny on Maine trying to get to these boobs. So you get a bonk whenever you're horny on Main.
So score number 14. We got script plot by Sean Lewis.
[00:57:47] Speaker B: With additional script by Todd McFarland.
[00:57:50] Speaker A: Steven Segovia, drawing as he has always been. Except for a few little guest spots. Ulysses areola on covers.
[00:57:58] Speaker B: Lettering is and world design cover artists.
[00:58:01] Speaker A: Then we get to the covers.
[00:58:03] Speaker B: We got David Mack and Don Egullio.
[00:58:07] Speaker A: And we've talked about the David Mack before because we had it on.
[00:58:13] Speaker C: I think this is the third one we've covered up.
[00:58:15] Speaker A: The third one. Yeah. So that's the one you have there, Logan in front of you. It's the a cover. And David Mack has did a whole series. And I don't know.
[00:58:22] Speaker B: It's a really good.
[00:58:25] Speaker D: I haven't really seen her do any kind of spawn action yet. What's her special ability kind of thing?
[00:58:34] Speaker A: Like hair.
[00:58:35] Speaker B: Hair. No.
[00:58:36] Speaker A: She's good at being a leader. She uses guns, but she basically just has all the same powers as, like, regular spawn instead of chain. She decides. I think it's a personal choice. She uses her hair instead. But her kind of personal symbiote is.
[00:58:49] Speaker B: Probably the hair thing.
But she also could manifest a.
[00:58:56] Speaker C: We just. We just learned about manifesting the motorcycle, too.
[00:58:59] Speaker A: She's quite literally, she spawned, as David put in an early episode.
[00:59:04] Speaker B: She spawned with boobies.
[00:59:08] Speaker C: It's an unfortunate world we live in, but that's what it boils down to.
[00:59:12] Speaker B: And then which cover do you have? I've got that cover b.
[00:59:16] Speaker C: That.
Sorry, don, we're fucking up your name real bad. But yeah, it's just got redeemer on top of a fleabiac dabbing his sword into his head.
[00:59:30] Speaker A: Right into his head.
[00:59:31] Speaker C: Right into it. And there's blood going everywhere.
[00:59:34] Speaker B: And it's some righteous redeemer action. It is great.
And it looks like he's got him.
[00:59:41] Speaker A: Like, chained up with, like, golden.
[00:59:44] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's pretty cool.
Stabbing him in the head. So. Previously in Scorched.
[00:59:52] Speaker A: After the successful raid on Mandarin's compound, the team is alerted to a new threat.
So if we remember, last time was the scorched issue we covered was where.
[01:00:03] Speaker B: Winter Mandarin Spawns island.
[01:00:05] Speaker A: He's having a big fight.
[01:00:06] Speaker B: They went there with freak. They got some left.
[01:00:09] Speaker A: And so the other team members of the scorched, well, I guess we don't open with them.
[01:00:14] Speaker B: We'll get to them.
[01:00:15] Speaker A: We open with a little kind of flashback, kind of, like, side story here. And this is all stuff that's going on in main Spawn. Nyx is another character who was formerly she spawn.
[01:00:27] Speaker B: Yeah, I was about to say the original she spawn.
[01:00:29] Speaker A: The original she spawn. The original she spawn.
[01:00:34] Speaker C: She sells. She spawns by the hellscape, by the hell shore.
[01:00:39] Speaker A: She's not by the hellscape. She is not a villain.
[01:00:43] Speaker B: She's just an adverse Sarah to Al.
[01:00:47] Speaker A: Right now, because he's doing some shenanigans. I wouldn't consider her a villain. She just has different goals than Al Simmons right now. So she has, in the main spawn comic, taking control of some of the dead zones. Finally, after, like, a couple years of storytelling, of them being under only Spawn's control.
[01:01:04] Speaker B: What does that mean?
[01:01:05] Speaker D: Like, when it's under his control, does that mean he's the only one that can use them as portals wreck currently?
[01:01:11] Speaker B: Correct.
[01:01:11] Speaker A: He locked them.
[01:01:12] Speaker B: So his whole big plan was he.
[01:01:15] Speaker A: Got control of the dead zones, and he locked them all to trap everyone.
[01:01:19] Speaker B: That'S here on earth here. Everyone that's in hell, in heaven, or.
[01:01:23] Speaker A: Trapped in hell in heaven, just to keep it. His goal was like, let's keep it separate.
[01:01:28] Speaker B: Everyone go away.
[01:01:28] Speaker A: But it ended up just creating more chaos on Earth, because everyone's, like, fighting to get back.
[01:01:33] Speaker B: And the people that are trapped there.
[01:01:35] Speaker C: Are causing shenanigans, the agents of heaven and hell, when cut off from their connection to either of their home realms, just start going insane.
[01:01:46] Speaker B: So it's just things. Shit's getting bad.
Yeah, that doesn't help at all.
[01:01:49] Speaker A: And that's why Nyx comes in to kind of, like, push out towards opening the dead zone, because she is allied with the green, which is kind of like mother nature of the Spawn universe. And she is like, yo, you're going to kill the Earth. If you keep doing this, you're going to kill everybody. So we got to stop spawn.
[01:02:04] Speaker B: Stop it. Yeah.
[01:02:06] Speaker A: And so people are slipping through.
[01:02:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:02:10] Speaker A: And it calls them new nightmares, but.
[01:02:11] Speaker B: They'Re actually some old nightmares.
[01:02:14] Speaker A: There's some classic characters coming through, and they're in love.
[01:02:18] Speaker B: They're a woman and a beast.
[01:02:21] Speaker D: She just comes through Terminator style.
[01:02:24] Speaker C: Just naked woman and a beast.
[01:02:27] Speaker A: Beauty and a robot.
[01:02:29] Speaker D: I was going to say, she's like, fucking robot, dude here.
[01:02:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:02:33] Speaker A: She's like, I saw solo. I love Lando. He fucks robots. I'm going to fuck a robot.
[01:02:37] Speaker B: Fuck a robot. It's the future.
[01:02:41] Speaker A: So Margaret Love is actually from the original or one of the original Spawn Batman.
[01:02:48] Speaker C: I've got it open right here. It's the what's his face. The Frank Miller.
[01:02:52] Speaker D: Wait, so Margaret love and Nick's are not the same?
[01:02:56] Speaker A: No, they're not. That is not Nick's.
[01:02:57] Speaker B: No. Okay.
[01:02:59] Speaker A: Naked person is Margaret Love. And she was in Gotham City, David.
[01:03:04] Speaker B: Yes. She was in Gotham City, and she was stealing unhomed men and turning them.
[01:03:13] Speaker C: Into robots that she could sell to military companies.
She gets her comeuppance when she's invited the president to her private yacht for.
[01:03:26] Speaker B: A demonstration of these basically.
[01:03:32] Speaker C: Ultimately expendable soldiers.
[01:03:36] Speaker A: And then Spawn and Batman thwart her.
[01:03:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Spawn hits her with this, like, power.
[01:03:42] Speaker A: Blast, sends her straight to.
[01:03:46] Speaker C: Here. Here's a good one. And then, like a thunderclap, a fragment of memory, the memory of Al Simmons soldier on some ghastly foreign battlefield. She was smiling. Men screamed and died, and she was smiling. So Margaret Love was there at Al Simmons's.
[01:04:00] Speaker A: Oh, my God. That's from the spawn.
[01:04:01] Speaker B: Batman or Batman Spawn.
[01:04:03] Speaker C: That's from the spawn Batman.
[01:04:04] Speaker B: Spawn.
Yeah. Oh, wow.
[01:04:07] Speaker A: Sweet.
[01:04:08] Speaker B: She was there at his death.
She was there at his death, yeah.
Or she was there at least someplace.
[01:04:17] Speaker C: Causing destruction while Al was still alive.
[01:04:19] Speaker B: Okay, well, good to know.
[01:04:22] Speaker A: I do remember that now.
[01:04:23] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:04:24] Speaker A: It's like that thing where you got to tie every villain somehow into the origin story a little bit.
[01:04:28] Speaker B: So she's basically a Nazi.
[01:04:33] Speaker C: Even in this comic book, she's styled like a Nazi.
[01:04:38] Speaker B: She's got the look.
[01:04:40] Speaker A: She's got the look.
And so Necro, we don't know too much about. He's somewhere in the spawn I haven't got to.
[01:04:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I haven't gotten to him either.
[01:04:49] Speaker C: But, I mean, he's literally, like, fucking cybernetic superman.
[01:04:54] Speaker B: Only spawn. Spawn.
Cybernetic spawn.
[01:04:59] Speaker A: And sounds like they use Spawn's old victims in some of his cape to.
[01:05:04] Speaker B: Make him wielding as much power as Spawn himself.
[01:05:07] Speaker A: To answer your question, that was all flashback. And now this is contemporary, so you're seeing the other members of the scorch we didn't see last time, which are.
[01:05:17] Speaker B: Soul crusher and medieval spawn.
[01:05:20] Speaker A: I love this kind of turn in.
[01:05:22] Speaker B: This, where they've kind of, like, started their own little buddy comedy.
[01:05:27] Speaker C: Yeah, it's lethal weapons starring medieval and soul Crusher.
[01:05:32] Speaker A: Yes. Medieval is doing stuff and soul crushes it over his head.
[01:05:35] Speaker B: It's great.
[01:05:36] Speaker D: What's the deal?
[01:05:37] Speaker C: Medieval is the Danny Glover one.
[01:05:39] Speaker A: So soul crusher, this is soul Crusher two. Technically, the original soul Crusher was a.
[01:05:44] Speaker B: Human who decided that he didn't want.
[01:05:48] Speaker A: Kind of like, in a perverted way of what Al was thinking, but in.
[01:05:51] Speaker B: A little more extreme.
[01:05:53] Speaker A: He didn't want heaven or hell. So he's just anti everything.
[01:05:57] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:05:58] Speaker C: He wants earth for earth people.
[01:05:59] Speaker A: Earth for earth people only. And that was the original soul Crusher. This is his adopted earth first bastard. Yeah, he's one of those earth first bastards.
This is the soul crusher's ward, or adopted kind of. He adopted some kids, did some Batman shit, adopted some kids and trained them to be fighters.
[01:06:19] Speaker B: And eventually he became corrupt and started working with the curse and doing ends.
[01:06:25] Speaker A: Justify the means, and they didn't agree with him. And basically, we should go to the.
[01:06:30] Speaker B: Scorch to get help.
[01:06:31] Speaker A: He killed the old soul crusher, became the new soul crusher.
[01:06:34] Speaker B: So he's basically an expat russian guy.
[01:06:39] Speaker A: Who former soldier, who is now fighting with the scorch because their mission of trying to get people back their own time, he thinks is aligning with his mission of trying to get everyone the.
[01:06:51] Speaker B: Hell out of here is basically his story.
[01:06:55] Speaker C: Man, that was surprisingly succinct. Dang.
[01:06:58] Speaker B: Damn, I did it.
[01:06:59] Speaker C: It sounds crazy when you hear it, but, I mean, that's it.
[01:07:03] Speaker B: That's it. Oh, man. Comics is great.
Comics is great.
[01:07:07] Speaker A: I can't believe I knew that.
[01:07:10] Speaker C: We're learning stuff, Johnny. We're learning stuff.
[01:07:12] Speaker A: So they're hanging out in your kirosine Creek of New Zealand, which is an interesting specific spot.
[01:07:18] Speaker B: But, hey, why go?
[01:07:21] Speaker D: Is his dragon here like, a hell creature, or is it something he just manifests as well?
[01:07:27] Speaker A: He can summon a dragon.
[01:07:28] Speaker B: That's like his special thing is.
[01:07:33] Speaker A: I don't know. A couple of issues ago just was like, I'm fucking summoning a dragon. And did it.
[01:07:38] Speaker C: There was the line, of course you have a dragon, Soulcrusher.
[01:07:42] Speaker B: Just like, of course you have a dragon.
[01:07:43] Speaker A: So they're flying around.
[01:07:46] Speaker B: They're going to meet up with the.
[01:07:47] Speaker A: Rest of the team.
[01:07:48] Speaker C: Jessica and Redeemer and Freak. And Freak's like, your boy's praying again, spawn girl.
[01:07:55] Speaker B: But he's not praying. He's preparing, and he goes. He goes snag.
[01:08:00] Speaker C: Yeah, he steals Freak's knife and freak is like, wait, what? That was my knife.
[01:08:05] Speaker B: What?
[01:08:06] Speaker D: And, like, cuts him with it looks like. Or is he cutting.
[01:08:10] Speaker A: He's cutting himself?
[01:08:11] Speaker C: He cuts himself.
[01:08:12] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:08:13] Speaker C: And Freak's like, hey, I kind of like this. Yeah, fucking freak.
Like, oh, no, this is groovy.
[01:08:22] Speaker B: What's going on?
[01:08:23] Speaker A: So the church redeemers from, I guess.
[01:08:24] Speaker B: Evidently requires blood to be effective in these rituals.
[01:08:28] Speaker A: And he's kind of using it as he's trying to see.
[01:08:32] Speaker D: Does a little blood match, those little.
[01:08:34] Speaker A: Blood match to kind of see the future a little bit or, like, see what's going on.
[01:08:38] Speaker C: He's doing some scrying.
[01:08:39] Speaker B: Yeah, doing some scrying. Remember Scry magazine?
[01:08:45] Speaker A: It was the unofficial magic, the gathering magazine, because scry is when you. Is that what they call it when you.
[01:08:49] Speaker B: I'm going to scry and then you.
[01:08:52] Speaker D: Look and you can. In any order.
[01:08:55] Speaker A: Right, that's scry.
[01:08:55] Speaker B: Yeah, that's right.
[01:08:58] Speaker A: Yeah. There was a scry magazine that was, like, adjacent to wizard and toy fair.
[01:09:01] Speaker B: And all that, but, yeah, the Redeemer's.
[01:09:03] Speaker C: Talking about a baptism of survival that's coming up. Jessica's just like, on earth, we call that war.
I wonder if that's the additional dialogue, this issue.
[01:09:14] Speaker A: That's the Todd McFarland.
[01:09:17] Speaker C: That's very much like something that Taylor would have said to Javi.
[01:09:20] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:09:23] Speaker A: They find this fisher in New Zealand.
[01:09:25] Speaker B: There's a crack. Looks like there's a dead zone. Cracking.
[01:09:29] Speaker D: Really cool shot of the dragon. Just, like, swooping down.
[01:09:32] Speaker A: Just swooping in. Time is our enemy. We must go straight to its heart.
[01:09:36] Speaker B: That's what I say to David every.
[01:09:38] Speaker A: Time we record our episode. I go, time is our enemy. We must go straight to the heart of the issue.
[01:09:42] Speaker C: I wonder if this is one of the McFarland's dragons from the clan. What's it?
[01:09:48] Speaker B: I'm getting the berserker clan dragon man.
[01:09:51] Speaker C: Hopefully. Hopefully the medieval action figures that are coming out this year will fit on top of the dragons.
[01:09:56] Speaker B: And then it's full circle.
[01:09:59] Speaker A: Then it's just, I'm never leaving my room. I'm just playing with that dragon all the time.
[01:10:04] Speaker C: You're going to waste away.
You're going to be just nothing but skin and bones clutching these action figures. Wanda will find you three weeks later when you start to stink.
[01:10:15] Speaker A: So basically they've sensed that there's this, like, fisher in the dead zone, that it's open.
[01:10:19] Speaker B: So they're going to go check it out here. And this is what I was telling you about a little earlier medieval spawn.
[01:10:25] Speaker A: Hates heaven, he hates churches, because he was a child during the black plague.
[01:10:29] Speaker B: And they experimented and did some spawn shit to him to try to make him into this vessel, and he ended up becoming medieval spawn.
[01:10:42] Speaker D: So he's like, seeing these are, like actual spirits of angels or something.
[01:10:47] Speaker A: Well, so he's going in this portal, and he sees through their lies. You see these beautiful angels that are like, come in.
[01:10:52] Speaker B: Come on.
[01:10:54] Speaker A: And then he gets through there, and then you see through their lies, and there's just, like, dead angels and people, like, rotting, because angels are just warmongers, just like demons in the spawn universe. And so, yeah, it's like the moment. It's like the raiders of the Lost Ark, where they're like, welcome to the ark. It's like, it's beautiful that it's like they turn all scary.
[01:11:14] Speaker B: Yeah, basically that. So he's going in there.
[01:11:17] Speaker A: He's like, all right, you corruptors, the innocent.
I'm going to fuck you guys up. I love how I'm going to go kill some angels.
[01:11:26] Speaker C: Let's see how much courage you retain when you aren't slaughtering women and children.
So they pick on somebody your own size, and he's their own size.
[01:11:36] Speaker B: It's real nice.
[01:11:37] Speaker A: His medieval aims to correct ancient wrongs. Soul Crusher is left to face an enemy he never expected.
[01:11:43] Speaker B: An enemy.
[01:11:43] Speaker C: An enemy of pure beauty.
[01:11:45] Speaker A: Yeah, see, soul crusher, he's on that John Fisher life. Don't get distracted by a black cat.
[01:11:52] Speaker C: Get.
[01:11:54] Speaker B: Who did that?
[01:11:55] Speaker C: Get in because somebody else got distracted momentarily by Jessica priest, and then they.
[01:12:01] Speaker B: Got a thing in the neck.
That was Reaper. That was Reaper. Okay. Yeah, it was Eddie.
[01:12:11] Speaker C: Everybody's getting a little distracted by the cat suit.
[01:12:15] Speaker B: Hey, man, it happens.
Oh, man.
[01:12:21] Speaker C: Are you lonely, soul crusher? Do you miss the girls you couldn't protect in your homeland?
He's just, like, mentally going, bach, Bach, Bach.
[01:12:30] Speaker D: He really lets her just get right up on him.
[01:12:32] Speaker A: No worries.
I love Steven Segoya's art here, though, because he does such a good job of soul crusher being distressed without having any facial expression. But you could tell he's just like.
[01:12:43] Speaker D: What'S the deal with this? Why has he got, like, the mask and stuff on?
[01:12:47] Speaker A: That's his costume. That's his superhero get up.
[01:12:50] Speaker B: He's just Soul crusher. Because he looks cool.
[01:12:53] Speaker C: It looks cool. That's all that matters.
[01:12:55] Speaker A: And he uses smoke grenades a lot and just, like, crazy weapons, so he just always had a gas mask. Plus he's probably, like, dealing with hell.
[01:13:01] Speaker B: Spawn shit, so comes in handy yeah, Covid.
[01:13:10] Speaker D: Someone new shows up.
[01:13:11] Speaker A: He's like, mask.
[01:13:12] Speaker B: Mask.
[01:13:13] Speaker A: He's like, okay, this lady's talking to me. I don't know. You know what Covid was like in hell. You can't imagine a lot of incubation.
[01:13:19] Speaker B: With all the heat. Yeah.
Oh, man.
[01:13:23] Speaker C: And then just like, while he's trying to back away from her, fucking Necro shows up right behind him in his scary visage.
[01:13:30] Speaker B: Look at that.
[01:13:32] Speaker C: You're frightened, aren't you?
[01:13:33] Speaker B: Why? And he's like, medieval.
[01:13:35] Speaker A: I need your help. But medieval is too focused on these angels and don't give a shit and just going for it.
[01:13:39] Speaker D: Yeah, he's like, whatever. I'm fighting dudes already.
[01:13:43] Speaker C: He's got that flaming sword out.
[01:13:44] Speaker B: He's like, let's go.
[01:13:48] Speaker C: He's like, ash. He's like, you want to dance?
[01:13:51] Speaker B: Let's dance, dude.
[01:13:52] Speaker D: Okay, so this is a perfect example of me being in a state of half asleep ness or my mind not woken up. When I first saw this panel on.
[01:14:05] Speaker B: The right, when they're fighting, and it's.
[01:14:07] Speaker D: Like, thorn, and then it shows soul crusher here, obviously, throwing bombs out. I thought it was, like, some sort of, like, he was blasting beams through the cosmos, and those were, like, planets. Some shit was, like, whizzing by originally, and I was like, wait, what's happening?
[01:14:28] Speaker A: That'd be epic.
[01:14:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:14:30] Speaker C: That would be amazing, though.
[01:14:32] Speaker A: That's kind of like, hey, I'm with you. I'm new to comics in the last year or two, so I have had trouble learning what's important, what to pay attention to, and kind of had to wrestling myself into how to read comics because this is a little different than just, like, looking at it.
[01:14:45] Speaker B: Sometimes you kind of have to parse.
[01:14:47] Speaker A: Out what's going on a little bit.
[01:14:49] Speaker B: And that's what I like about it. But I could totally see that.
[01:14:52] Speaker A: No, he's used these before in the scores. He's like, yeah, he's got his little Batman balls. He's used those before, and he always.
[01:15:01] Speaker B: Has little sneaky things in his cloak.
[01:15:03] Speaker D: But does he have powers otherwise?
[01:15:05] Speaker A: No, he's just a human. He's just. Besides being from the motherland, he can drink you on the table with vodka, brother.
[01:15:12] Speaker B: He's from Russia.
[01:15:13] Speaker D: Access to scores of illicit weapons.
[01:15:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:15:17] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Exactly.
[01:15:17] Speaker B: He has all the illicit weapons.
[01:15:20] Speaker A: No, he's just a dude. A dude in a gas mask with some cool weapons.
[01:15:24] Speaker B: So they're basically just trying to seduce.
[01:15:27] Speaker A: Him over because they know he's kind of on the fence. So he's like, hey, these guys, they got too much power. But you should come help us.
[01:15:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:15:35] Speaker C: They're taking back what they stole from you, Spawn.
[01:15:38] Speaker B: All you humans.
[01:15:39] Speaker C: You gave God too much power.
[01:15:41] Speaker A: Medieval's just, like, doing some diablo, like, slicing and dicing.
[01:15:44] Speaker D: Yeah, this is just crazy stuff over here. He's just, like, wrecking everyone just so.
[01:15:48] Speaker A: They'Re chopping up angels like a.
[01:15:51] Speaker C: He got early access to the Diablo four beta, and he's just fucking it up to see if there's any bugs going on.
[01:15:57] Speaker A: Oh, he pre reserved that. Man, I missed that. I felt bad. I wanted to play that. I don't feel bad.
[01:16:02] Speaker B: I guilty. I feel bad because I wanted to play it.
[01:16:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I feel bad. I'm like, oh, bummer. I missed it. I was too busy playing resident evil four.
[01:16:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:16:12] Speaker A: Which has been awesome.
[01:16:13] Speaker D: Yeah, I didn't play any of it yet either.
[01:16:15] Speaker A: Yeah, you had to preorder it. I hadn't preordered it yet. My friend James has been playing it a lot. He said it's really good. I always love Diablo. It's always a hoot.
[01:16:22] Speaker B: Yeah, it was fun.
[01:16:23] Speaker A: Very spawn adjacent.
[01:16:25] Speaker B: It does feel like just medieval fucking.
[01:16:29] Speaker D: Angel Benihana over here.
[01:16:31] Speaker A: Yeah, pretty much.
[01:16:37] Speaker C: It's like he's tossing the shrimp, only instead of a shrimp, it's a bit of another angel.
[01:16:44] Speaker A: This giant one shows until the giant angel, right?
[01:16:48] Speaker C: Golgotha, man, this Golgotha dude's pretty fucking.
[01:16:53] Speaker B: Pretty fucking great.
[01:16:54] Speaker C: The Lord's mandate has been set.
[01:16:56] Speaker B: Damn, that's so cool.
[01:16:58] Speaker A: The name Golgotha, it's where Jesus died on the hill.
[01:17:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:17:03] Speaker A: I didn't know.
[01:17:07] Speaker C: I mean, to follow up on our previous conversation of, if you had remembered anything about dogma, you would remember that the shit demon is literally made from the shit that fell out. Of all the people who were crucified at Golgotha.
[01:17:26] Speaker A: They keep fighting. There's so much action. Action.
[01:17:29] Speaker B: So much fighting.
[01:17:30] Speaker C: I like that. They tell us back at Kerosene Creek. Yeah, Soul Crusher is suffering broken limbs meant for spawn.
[01:17:37] Speaker D: It looks like he just was being able to expand his arm to, like, a giant hammer.
[01:17:43] Speaker A: Yeah, it's just like the size of.
[01:17:44] Speaker D: A train just running into torso of a punch.
[01:17:48] Speaker C: Yeah, he knocks his freaking mask off with that punch.
And then loves over there trying to.
[01:17:56] Speaker B: Give him a poison ivy.
Doing the poison ivy, baby.
[01:18:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:18:04] Speaker C: Rubber lips.
[01:18:05] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[01:18:09] Speaker B: I love that. When they're fighting over, like, they're fighting.
[01:18:12] Speaker A: Over the cave, he's like, ivy's got into you, Bruce. He's like, oh, I love her. That movie's hilarious. He is the backguard. He's like, never leave the cave without it.
[01:18:23] Speaker B: Oh, man. How can you hate that movie?
You can't.
[01:18:28] Speaker A: You know what's so funny is we.
[01:18:29] Speaker B: Are like, we should just call this.
[01:18:32] Speaker A: Like, podcast movies that came out in 96. 97, because we've talked about that Spawn dragon heart. What other 97 movie were we just talking about today? Lost worlds from 97?
[01:18:45] Speaker C: Stargate.
[01:18:46] Speaker A: Stargate.
[01:18:47] Speaker B: Godzilla. Godzilla.
[01:18:48] Speaker A: That was the one. Yeah. It's just funny. I mean, I guess that makes sense that 90s movies come along.
[01:18:53] Speaker C: Lethal weapon.
[01:18:54] Speaker A: Lethal weapon three or four probably came.
[01:18:56] Speaker B: Out close to 97 because they're buddy cop comedy.
[01:19:00] Speaker A: Because it's lethal weapon. Obviously, the dragon is now friends with.
[01:19:03] Speaker B: Soul Crusher as well, so he gets.
[01:19:05] Speaker A: The poison kiss, which is still playing out in the current scorch.
[01:19:09] Speaker B: We don't know what's quite going on there. And he whistles, and there he comes.
[01:19:14] Speaker A: Probably the best shot of the dragon, this issue. Just like, wow. With, like, a big old Godzilla beam coming down.
[01:19:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I was about to say it's got a Godzilla fire beam. It's chaos everywhere.
[01:19:25] Speaker A: I love this part here, though, because it's literally, like, what I was saying a second ago where I was like, I don't know, there's just a bunch of fighting. That's kind of what this issue is. But it acknowledges it because it goes.
[01:19:33] Speaker B: It's chaos everywhere.
[01:19:35] Speaker A: Some attempts to leave, some attempts to gain entrance. They want to trespass. Golgotha wanted the opposite. It's all just crazy. I love that. They're just like, yeah, this is nuts.
[01:19:43] Speaker B: Hey, Johnny.
[01:19:44] Speaker C: They're all fighting for the exact same.
[01:19:46] Speaker B: Reasons that we are all here. All because of spawn.
[01:19:50] Speaker A: Oh, because I thought you were going to say because of fun.
[01:19:54] Speaker C: It's right there. It's right there. It's in the text.
[01:19:57] Speaker D: Soul Crozer just cash slaps this homing beacon on, like, not even a hidden place on her.
[01:20:06] Speaker A: Hopefully, she won't notice that blinking device.
[01:20:10] Speaker C: And then medieval comes back through that portal from heaven with just, like, the foulest shishkabob.
[01:20:20] Speaker D: Like, he, like, impaled this giant.
[01:20:22] Speaker B: He's got Golgotha impaled.
[01:20:25] Speaker C: Like, he just left a party that he was no longer happy to be at. And it was just like, I'm taking this. And he seals the portal with blood.
[01:20:35] Speaker D: I love that of its most revered.
[01:20:37] Speaker A: Because they'll be like, you try to go through that portal. There's a gold golf of blood there.
[01:20:41] Speaker B: You don't want to go through there. Yeah.
[01:20:44] Speaker C: And, like, as the portal is disappearing, necro and love are just, like, into the portal.
[01:20:51] Speaker A: And then he's like, we got her.
[01:20:52] Speaker B: I got that helmet to beacon on her arm.
[01:20:54] Speaker A: She definitely won't remove it or take.
[01:20:56] Speaker B: Your clothes off, hopefully.
[01:20:57] Speaker D: I love how they basically are just like, as soon as medieval shows up.
[01:21:01] Speaker A: They'Re like, well, let's fucking off out of here.
[01:21:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:21:03] Speaker A: They're like, also because the portal is, like, closing. And they're like, oh, shit, time to go.
[01:21:07] Speaker B: Because he's ceiling.
[01:21:08] Speaker A: So I think that's probably why too.
[01:21:10] Speaker B: It's like a double.
[01:21:10] Speaker C: Like, okay, bye.
[01:21:13] Speaker B: And then you get, this is kind.
[01:21:15] Speaker A: Of a tease for next time.
You get a great gunslinger sitting there being like, hey, guess what? You can go to hell.
[01:21:22] Speaker B: I quit.
[01:21:23] Speaker D: Quit.
[01:21:24] Speaker B: The end. Yeah. Boom. So this is a great.
[01:21:28] Speaker A: I don't know. It's fun because it leads into something that will come up later. Also, if you know the history, you haven't really read the early scorch. But Gunslinger hates the scorch pretty much. Okay, he doesn't hate them. He's fine working with them.
[01:21:40] Speaker B: But there are means to an end.
[01:21:43] Speaker A: There are means to an end. He wants to get back home, and that's why he's quitting.
[01:21:46] Speaker D: Care about any of the present?
[01:21:47] Speaker A: No, he doesn't give a shit.
[01:21:48] Speaker D: Fuck all this.
[01:21:49] Speaker A: I just want to go back to the past. And then you guys can all do.
[01:21:52] Speaker D: This later because I'll be all this whatever is happening.
[01:21:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:21:57] Speaker A: He's basically like, I'm going to quit.
[01:21:58] Speaker B: Because we'll come to find out soon. I don't want to be there when.
[01:22:02] Speaker C: Medieval turns back into Mark. And Mark has to yell at Gunslinger for smoking around all of his equipment. Like, no, that's bad for the computers.
[01:22:12] Speaker A: Oh, he would hate that.
[01:22:15] Speaker B: So we have the spawning grounds this.
[01:22:17] Speaker A: Week in this issue.
[01:22:20] Speaker C: We've got Christmas ornament.
[01:22:21] Speaker A: A Christmas Ornament? That's pretty awesome. We've got a spawn ornament.
[01:22:24] Speaker B: And we got to know, did it.
[01:22:26] Speaker A: Win the ornament for the contest for the office?
[01:22:30] Speaker B: Hopefully. So.
[01:22:33] Speaker A: Then we get Chris from Las Vegas saying how much he's loving the scorch. He's hoping that every character can get.
[01:22:38] Speaker B: Their own book one day, and hopefully.
[01:22:41] Speaker A: One day they will, says Thomas. But right now, hope you're enjoying their adventures and scorched.
And then we come to a friend. We know this guy.
[01:22:50] Speaker C: Hey, we do know this guy. He's canadian.
[01:22:53] Speaker B: Our friend from the Internet, Quinton, got.
[01:22:58] Speaker A: His action figure photography featured in here.
[01:23:02] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a great shot, too.
[01:23:05] Speaker A: His Instagram page is at I am Mr. Poole.
[01:23:08] Speaker B: More on that shortly.
[01:23:10] Speaker A: But he wrote in, we'd already followed each other at this point, and I always liked his stuff.
[01:23:15] Speaker B: And it's cool that he got in here.
[01:23:17] Speaker A: I remember the day I read this issue was like, oh, wow, he's in here. And he's like, oh, he's serious.
[01:23:22] Speaker B: Yeah, it's great.
Yeah, it's awesome.
[01:23:27] Speaker A: Then you get the solicits for the February other issues. Our ads. Salmon twitch ad for the toys to take us out.
[01:23:34] Speaker B: Yeah, of course. And that closes the book on Scorched 14.
[01:23:39] Speaker C: Oh, man, that preview poster is pretty great.
[01:23:43] Speaker B: Look at him.
[01:23:43] Speaker A: I know that spawn where he's just like, got the big invisible oranges screaming.
[01:23:47] Speaker C: Yeah, that's very.
I can feel him saying, wa.
[01:23:54] Speaker A: Just put a microphone in there to be like, yeah. He's screaming, Wanda, right there.
[01:24:00] Speaker B: Yeah, Wanda. He's got to be. Yeah. That was super cool.
[01:24:05] Speaker D: And I was into that scorched a lot. I really like the medieval with the dragon and stuff.
[01:24:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:24:10] Speaker A: After you get caught up on those gunslingers I gave you, I'll give you scorched because it leads right into it, like I was saying.
[01:24:14] Speaker B: So that'll work out pretty well. Yeah.
[01:24:18] Speaker C: So I think that leaves us to. We got to rate these puppies, boys.
[01:24:21] Speaker A: It's time to rate these puppies, everybody.
[01:24:25] Speaker B: Woof, woof.
So first up we had gunslinger spawn.
[01:24:30] Speaker A: Number six, the faded dinner of death with clown.
I love this issue.
[01:24:35] Speaker B: I don't think there's any, like, I loved it.
[01:24:39] Speaker A: I love the food. Anything we get, like, gross, fun food.
[01:24:42] Speaker B: And Spawn is great.
[01:24:44] Speaker A: I love the humor of it. Just clown being ridiculous and, like, javi and clown getting drunk together.
[01:24:49] Speaker D: Just like the gunslinger trickery. I was a big. Yeah, just like the obvious.
[01:24:53] Speaker B: Like, I am pulling a trick on.
[01:24:55] Speaker C: This dude right now.
[01:24:56] Speaker D: Yeah, tell me more. Just keep talking.
[01:24:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:24:59] Speaker B: So I'm going to give it five.
[01:25:01] Speaker A: Little, teeny, tiny glasses of whiskey.
[01:25:06] Speaker C: So you hold between your thumb and your forefinger.
[01:25:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:25:09] Speaker A: This tiny, little, tiny glass of whiskey. And we sip on it, and we.
[01:25:12] Speaker B: Get real drunk, and we have a good time.
[01:25:15] Speaker A: Why turn it into Donald Trump? Just on for a second.
[01:25:17] Speaker B: I have no idea.
[01:25:22] Speaker C: What about you, Logan?
[01:25:24] Speaker B: What?
[01:25:25] Speaker C: Do you want to rate this?
[01:25:26] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm going high on this one, too.
[01:25:30] Speaker B: I'm going to give it five glishing guts.
Five glishing guts, man. Nice.
[01:25:40] Speaker C: Well, I'm going to give it.
[01:25:41] Speaker B: I think.
[01:25:42] Speaker C: Ding, ding, ding.
[01:25:43] Speaker B: We're all in agreement I'm going to.
[01:25:46] Speaker C: Give it five little pepper shakers.
Hiding behind the. Because I love the little details.
[01:25:53] Speaker A: I just love that, like, he opens this evil base on this island. At some point he had to order salt and pepper shakes.
[01:25:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
He also had to order the party city chairs and cups and presumably plates, too, because. Yeah, those plates all have little skulls on them. So the party city guys know where he lives.
[01:26:15] Speaker A: Maybe you got him at the Jekyll and Hyde Club, that old theme restaurant.
I went there once in New York.
[01:26:21] Speaker C: Nice.
[01:26:24] Speaker B: It's like a gothic themed horror restaurant.
[01:26:27] Speaker A: That has like, animatronics of like, how's that burger? Yeah, they're like, funny. It's really stupid. It's really expensive. But I loved it when I was 18 years old.
[01:26:37] Speaker B: Oh, nice. So old and enough to know what you like.
[01:26:42] Speaker A: I went there because my dad was on a business trip and he was going out to the bars and stuff with, like, businessmen and I couldn't go. So he was like, I loved it. I got to walk around New York City by myself. It felt like a badass.
[01:26:52] Speaker B: But I went and saw Phantom, the.
[01:26:55] Speaker A: Opera, and I went to Jekyll and high club that night. It was great. It was a great John Fisher night.
[01:26:59] Speaker B: Nice. Hell, yeah.
[01:27:01] Speaker C: That sounds awesome.
[01:27:02] Speaker B: How many hoagies did you eat?
[01:27:04] Speaker A: None. I had a burger at Jekyll and Hyde Club. I had a piece of pizza on the way back to the hotel from like a pizza stand.
[01:27:10] Speaker D: Got a slice.
[01:27:11] Speaker A: Got a slice. You know, it's the water. It's all the minerals in the water make it taste good.
[01:27:16] Speaker B: You got to fold it.
[01:27:17] Speaker A: You got to fold it. Let it drip a little bit.
[01:27:19] Speaker D: Listen, no jackoff is not walking around.
[01:27:21] Speaker A: Here without a folded slice. Next up, we have scorch number 14.
[01:27:27] Speaker B: Yes, we do.
[01:27:28] Speaker A: An action packed issue.
I'm going to give it.
Actually, David, how about you go first on this one? What would you give scorch number 14?
[01:27:39] Speaker B: Oh, man. Oh, man.
[01:27:40] Speaker C: I don't want to steal the good one.
[01:27:42] Speaker B: Do it.
[01:27:47] Speaker C: I'm going to give it 3.75. Godzilla fire bursts from the dragon.
Because we're still in that building up stage.
It's another one of those all fight.
[01:28:02] Speaker B: Books that sometimes I get a little.
[01:28:05] Speaker C: Lost in the all fight books. So I'm going to knock a little bit off there. But it's still fantastic. It's so much fun. It's almost deserving of the four full fire blasts.
[01:28:14] Speaker B: But 3.75, so that way we don't front load everything.
No, I agree.
[01:28:20] Speaker C: Where we're going it's good. A lot of good medieval action.
[01:28:23] Speaker B: Like I said, halfway through it, I.
[01:28:24] Speaker A: Was getting a little like. Then they fight a bunch. Like, that's kind of all. It's exciting.
[01:28:29] Speaker B: It's really cool.
[01:28:31] Speaker A: But, yeah, they fight a bunch.
[01:28:35] Speaker B: Go ahead.
[01:28:36] Speaker C: It's necessary, but not complete in and of itself.
[01:28:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm going to give it four.
[01:28:44] Speaker A: No, I'm going to give it 3.5 whistles.
Whistles for the dragon. So I give it 3.5 whistles because I like the dragon. And, yeah, like I said, it's pretty much agreed with what you said, david. It's not trying to say it's a bad issue. I love it. It's just, I like it. I enjoy it.
[01:29:02] Speaker B: Glad I own it.
[01:29:03] Speaker A: But if that's a five, this is a 3.5.
[01:29:07] Speaker B: That's all I can say.
[01:29:08] Speaker C: This is also one of those ones that as soon as you finish reading it, you're like, God damn it, I have to wait a month for the next one, right?
Yeah, a great reveal, too. So that keeps you on the hook.
[01:29:20] Speaker B: Logan, what would you rate this bad boy?
[01:29:26] Speaker D: I'm going to give this a five just because I was, like, super into nice, the medieval spawn with the dragon. So I'm going to definitely give it.
[01:29:39] Speaker C: Five.
[01:29:42] Speaker D: Impaled gulgothas for the medieval and dragon action alone. And there was little titties in it.
[01:29:56] Speaker A: Let's call spade a spade up a.
[01:29:58] Speaker D: .5 maybe it was a 4.5.
[01:30:01] Speaker C: That book, she's an enemy of pure beauty.
[01:30:06] Speaker A: What do you need to do? It says it in the book.
[01:30:08] Speaker C: Yeah, it does.
A little tna never hurt nothing.
[01:30:14] Speaker B: It's true, it's true.
[01:30:16] Speaker C: Hey, Johnny, you said something about putting a pin in something, right?
[01:30:19] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:30:19] Speaker A: There was that picture of the gunslinger on a horse drawn by Greg Capoulo.
[01:30:23] Speaker B: For gunslinger one number one. It was in the back of the spawning ground.
[01:30:27] Speaker C: I know I've seen it somewhere.
[01:30:29] Speaker B: Oh, it's on the back of this.
[01:30:30] Speaker C: Huge ass toy I have.
If everybody remembers talking about happy birthday, David getting drunk and buying himself action figures, one of those action figures was the special edition gunslinger on his horse.
[01:30:46] Speaker A: You know what that means?
[01:30:48] Speaker C: I mean, it's time for Todd's toy.
[01:30:50] Speaker B: Ducky.
[01:31:11] Speaker C: I've been waiting to open this thing.
[01:31:12] Speaker B: For, like, a month now.
[01:31:14] Speaker C: I know, I can't imagine, but, yeah, it's awesome. It's got 22 moving parts like always. I'm taking your advice from the law.
[01:31:23] Speaker A: Oh, nice.
[01:31:25] Speaker C: You use your swiss army knives and just cut it?
[01:31:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:31:28] Speaker C: Way to do it, scissor function. And here we go.
[01:31:33] Speaker A: It makes.
[01:31:36] Speaker B: Those plastic rubber band thingies.
[01:31:39] Speaker A: Way easier to get out because they're hard to cut with a knife.
[01:31:42] Speaker B: Yeah, they are. You got to have it.
[01:31:45] Speaker A: Where did you purchase this from? You got this on Entertainment Earth?
[01:31:48] Speaker C: I got this on. I do believe it was a GameStop exclusive.
[01:31:53] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, they're on sale. That's right. Yeah.
[01:31:55] Speaker C: And they're on sale here. We got time for the ASMR.
[01:32:01] Speaker B: Johnny.
[01:32:08] Speaker C: Oh, Jesus. This box is so difficult to get out of.
[01:32:12] Speaker B: Fuck.
It's a massive box. There it goes.
[01:32:24] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[01:32:28] Speaker C: Okay, I have to start cutting these.
[01:32:35] Speaker B: Little plastic things to get them out of here.
[01:32:38] Speaker C: I must free our boy.
[01:32:40] Speaker A: Yeah, I got the regular gunslinger figure. I remember I got it when it was kind of hard to find. I got
[email protected]. Because I was literally, like, 06:00 a.m. Woke up randomly and looked, and it said there was one in stock, and I was like, oh, shit.
[01:32:53] Speaker B: Because it was like, it's hard to get.
[01:32:56] Speaker A: And it was actually the first figure I bought. And look at me.
[01:33:03] Speaker D: Remember. Is there any restock accounts to follow on Twitter or something like that for anywhere for that?
[01:33:11] Speaker A: Oh, it's back now.
[01:33:12] Speaker B: You can get it if you want to get one.
[01:33:14] Speaker A: They can get on.
[01:33:16] Speaker D: Like, I was wondering how hard to get. Where are they?
[01:33:19] Speaker A: Not really that hard.
The gunslinger figures are cool. It's got all the spikies and everything too.
They're not super hard. But usually the Todd McFarland toy account does a good job of when stuff is restocked because I was looking for these Batman figures that are coming out and.
[01:33:43] Speaker B: Oh, shit.
[01:33:43] Speaker A: No, it's not in stock. It's, like, third party sellers. They're selling for, like, $40. Should be, like, 24. 99 is, like the price, man.
[01:33:51] Speaker D: I remember it. To me, it was like that when I got my ps five.
[01:33:55] Speaker B: Finally.
[01:33:55] Speaker D: I was, like, just falling restock accounts, and it was like, this place has them. And I saw that they were in stock, and I was like, cool, let me click this button again. Only to find out it's immediately sold out. And then it somehow ended up in my cart. And I was like, oh, yeah.
[01:34:09] Speaker A: Oh, nice.
[01:34:12] Speaker C: I have a friend whose daughter is super into teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles now.
He just gave her all of his old toys. Oh, yeah. The one figure she wants now.
[01:34:26] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[01:34:27] Speaker C: It's going for, like, $200 on eBay right now. And he's like, damn it. Why is that the one she wants?
[01:34:32] Speaker D: Damn. I wonder if they would have it at that toy shop by my house. There was a lot of tMNt stuff there.
[01:34:38] Speaker A: Yeah, toy de jor might be worth checking out, but they know the prices, though. That's the thing. So if it's $200, they might be charging $200 for it.
[01:34:48] Speaker C: Do they do a lot of new toys too, or are they mostly they.
[01:34:52] Speaker A: Do, like, collector new have. Like, they have a bunch of that new ninja turtle stuff.
[01:34:58] Speaker D: There was a tall back section of that for.
[01:35:01] Speaker C: Okay. Okay, awesome. Okay, I have him free now. So first I got Johnny and Logan on video so they can see it, but at first, he's got this little gatling gun. Oh, Gatlin.
[01:35:11] Speaker A: Oh, that's nice.
[01:35:12] Speaker B: Very nice. He's got, you know, rifle and a.
[01:35:14] Speaker C: Couple of six shooters.
This is a designer edition, so that just means everywhere they could shove a skull. There's a skull.
It's great. But here's old Javi himself on top of his horse. Let's get him off the hearse first.
[01:35:34] Speaker B: The hearse first.
[01:35:36] Speaker C: Oh, man, there's still more plastic things.
[01:35:38] Speaker B: Johnny, I was holding to the horse.
[01:35:41] Speaker C: Yeah, he's, like, strapped to the horse.
You can bow out his legs, so.
[01:35:47] Speaker B: Look at that. He's got a. Oh, wow. Long, flowy. Long, flowy, flowing.
[01:35:53] Speaker C: Yeah, he's a little bow legged, but.
[01:35:55] Speaker B: That'S supposed to go on the horse. He's supposed to go on the horse.
[01:35:59] Speaker C: Yeah, he still stands a little bit, though.
[01:36:02] Speaker B: Yeah, he still stands by his own cool.
[01:36:04] Speaker C: Hat's not very tall, but that's.
[01:36:05] Speaker D: I was going to say, listen, that hat needs another quarter inch at least.
[01:36:11] Speaker C: Oh, man, but this horse is amazing.
[01:36:12] Speaker B: Look at this.
[01:36:13] Speaker C: You can move, like, all the legs.
[01:36:15] Speaker A: Oh, really? Wow.
[01:36:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:36:18] Speaker C: If you look at this tack, like, there's spawn symbol. Spawn symbol.
[01:36:25] Speaker B: Oh, that's awesome.
[01:36:26] Speaker C: There's, like, literal spawn symbols hammered into the plastic leather of the saddle.
[01:36:32] Speaker B: That's cool. Yeah, nice.
[01:36:36] Speaker C: It's a real good horse.
[01:36:37] Speaker B: Figure.
[01:36:40] Speaker A: I had a McFarland horse growing up because I had the headless horseman from Sleepy hollow figure.
[01:36:45] Speaker B: Oh, hell, yeah.
[01:36:47] Speaker D: He's got the back sheath for the rifle too.
[01:36:50] Speaker C: For the rifle?
[01:36:50] Speaker B: Yeah, and he's got these little holsters for his pistols right in there.
[01:36:58] Speaker C: And so you can have him ride the horse and shoot the gatling gun.
[01:37:01] Speaker B: All at the same time, because that's.
[01:37:04] Speaker C: What you do from horses, right?
[01:37:05] Speaker B: Yeah, of course, man.
[01:37:07] Speaker D: Gatlin gun would have to use up a lot of spawn power if he's got to do each bullet.
[01:37:13] Speaker A: Maybe he's just shooting regular humans with.
[01:37:15] Speaker B: It so he doesn't have to do that.
[01:37:17] Speaker A: Yeah, if you're doing, like, versus angels, that would be. You have to take a bath in your own blood.
You're just, like, dipping all these bullets.
[01:37:25] Speaker B: In your own blood.
[01:37:26] Speaker A: You're like, oh, God, this sucks.
[01:37:29] Speaker D: Take me down about 400.
[01:37:30] Speaker B: 400 pies.
[01:37:32] Speaker C: That new plastic is always a little stiff.
[01:37:35] Speaker B: Yeah, you got to bend. There we go. There we go, Boyo.
[01:37:39] Speaker C: I'll figure it out later, but, yeah, that's him. It's standing on his horse. It's real nice.
[01:37:43] Speaker B: That's awesome.
Yeah, nice.
[01:37:45] Speaker C: I've been meaning to get a gunslinger figure for a while, and this is.
[01:37:49] Speaker B: A good first one, I think.
Yes.
[01:37:52] Speaker A: Don't buy it on eBay, or don't buy it on Amazon right now. It's $40. Who knows that you can't even get.
[01:37:57] Speaker B: That one on Amazon. GameStop probably has it.
[01:38:01] Speaker A: I bought a clown from GameStop because it was on sale. And I think my violator on GameStop as well, they have regular, pretty good sales with McFarland stuff. Well, we mentioned earlier that we had a friend from Instagram, Quinton, that was.
[01:38:16] Speaker B: Mentioned in the issue, and we figured.
[01:38:18] Speaker A: Since we always do an Instagram shout.
[01:38:19] Speaker B: Out every episode, we might as well.
[01:38:23] Speaker A: Give them a shout out because they're in the issue.
[01:38:26] Speaker B: Hell, yeah.
[01:38:27] Speaker A: This is a shout out to. It's iam, mrpool.
[01:38:31] Speaker B: Just making sure I'm right on that.
[01:38:33] Speaker A: That's what it says in the issue, but I just want to check on Instagram.
[01:38:38] Speaker C: Yep, I double checked it last night, and it is Mr. Pool. And that's Mr. Mr. Not spelled out.
[01:38:44] Speaker B: M-I-S-T-E-R.
[01:38:45] Speaker C: So I am Mr. Pool.
[01:38:48] Speaker A: My friend's call me Q from Canada, and he posted really cool stuff. He's got a lot of cool figures and.
[01:38:57] Speaker B: Spawn comics. There's just some really cool figures.
[01:39:00] Speaker A: He does a really good job with the photography. Like, there's this awesome.
[01:39:03] Speaker B: There's a last ronin.
[01:39:04] Speaker A: That's really.
[01:39:07] Speaker C: Because he's got the NECA last ronan figure. That is just so cool. Oh, it was the Barney Frank meets.
[01:39:15] Speaker B: The max issue that he has, the.
[01:39:19] Speaker C: Matt groaning Max card. It's just fucking hilarious.
[01:39:23] Speaker B: That's awesome.
[01:39:25] Speaker A: Yeah, super cool, dude. Super supportive. Give him a follow.
That's awesome that he got into spawn.
[01:39:32] Speaker B: I'm so happy for him.
[01:39:34] Speaker C: Yeah, he's got that acetate variant cover from Batman.
[01:39:41] Speaker B: Spawn number one this year. Last year.
[01:39:44] Speaker A: Love that.
[01:39:45] Speaker B: Yeah, it's a good one. It's a good one.
While you're over on Instagram, you can.
[01:39:50] Speaker A: Also say hi to us.
[01:39:51] Speaker B: We are regarding spawn pod on Instagram. So at regarding Spawnpod, we're posting our toys.
[01:39:58] Speaker A: Not quite as elaborate as Quentin's toy photography, but we do our best.
[01:40:02] Speaker B: Ours a little more humorous.
[01:40:04] Speaker A: And we've got pictures of our comic book pickups, pictures of us. David's been doing some reels. I'm going to get off my ass one day and start doing some reels. I've just been busy.
[01:40:13] Speaker B: Been real busy.
[01:40:14] Speaker A: But I will reels soon.
[01:40:18] Speaker C: It's real hard to get to the point where you're like, do I want to put my face out there? It's hard to take pictures of your own face.
[01:40:24] Speaker A: But we're doing it for you guys. We're doing it for you to get.
[01:40:27] Speaker B: The spread, the spawn word.
[01:40:29] Speaker C: It's all for you, Damien.
[01:40:31] Speaker B: It's all for you. So no one creepy ever.
While you're over there, you could visit.
[01:40:37] Speaker A: T Brian Voiler, who does our great music, as you just heard in the todd's toy talk and other parts of the episode.
[01:40:45] Speaker C: All over the place.
[01:40:46] Speaker A: All over the place. I love listening to his music. I listen to it on the bus.
[01:40:49] Speaker B: I listen to it in the house. It's great.
[01:40:51] Speaker A: We got some new spontaneous coming up, so keep an eye out there. We've got some. Brian's been cooking up some new stuff in the kitchen to keep the show spontaneous. It's a spontane boat. Get on the spontane boat.
[01:41:06] Speaker C: Yeah, it's right down the river.
[01:41:08] Speaker B: Right it on down that river.
[01:41:10] Speaker C: You can also email us at regarding
[email protected], and Johnny, I think we like to hear good things. We like to hear questions. And I do believe you like to ask questions that people can answer us.
[01:41:23] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:41:24] Speaker C: On the emails.
[01:41:25] Speaker B: Right?
[01:41:25] Speaker A: Question this week. Inappropriate with the clown dinner is.
[01:41:29] Speaker B: I'm asking, what is your favorite form of clown? Is it skinny violator?
[01:41:35] Speaker A: Is it beefy violator? Is it night of the clown clown?
[01:41:38] Speaker B: Is it original clown?
[01:41:40] Speaker A: Is it brick shithouse clown? Is it the omen?
[01:41:43] Speaker B: So I just want to know what.
[01:41:45] Speaker A: Clown you get down with.
[01:41:48] Speaker C: Yeah, got to get down with the clown.
[01:41:50] Speaker B: Don't get down with the clown me.
[01:41:51] Speaker A: Just to start a healthy debate so people can respond. My favorite clown is probably the classic clown. I love classic clown. He's always farting and burping and making.
[01:41:59] Speaker C: Jokes, just talking to the cats in the alley, talking to the cat, talking.
[01:42:04] Speaker A: About how, hey, Mr. Pussy, look how cool I am.
[01:42:06] Speaker B: Like, he's great. Yeah, but, yeah, hit us up.
[01:42:10] Speaker A: Tell us what you think about clown. Who would play a good clown in a new movie.
[01:42:13] Speaker B: Tell us what you think of that. Yeah.
[01:42:16] Speaker C: How awesome was John Leguizamo as clown? There's only one answer.
[01:42:20] Speaker A: Yeah, he's really good. He's awesome.
He's acting the hell out of that part.
[01:42:25] Speaker C: Talk about excellent use of a fat suit.
[01:42:28] Speaker A: Yeah, take that.
[01:42:29] Speaker D: Brendan Fraser been, like, uncomfortable because it looks like he's also forcibly just, like, in a squatting, like, most of the performance.
[01:42:38] Speaker A: Oh, he's like, squatting. Yeah, it looks like quite a crazy.
[01:42:41] Speaker D: Know, uncomfortable kind of thing.
[01:42:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I can't imagine.
[01:42:44] Speaker A: I was actually reading an interview with.
[01:42:46] Speaker B: Him for Silent Night or not deadly night, whatever. The one with David harbor was where.
[01:42:52] Speaker A: He was like, killer Santa.
[01:42:53] Speaker D: Yeah, I know the way you're talking.
[01:42:57] Speaker A: I was a horror mag. Horror hound. So they actually asked him about the clown makeup, and he was like, oh, thanks for asking. It's one of my favorite part. He was literally genuinely happy that they asked him about it. So that was kind of cool to.
[01:43:06] Speaker B: See because it's a horror mag.
[01:43:08] Speaker A: So he always got to ask about the makeup effects.
[01:43:10] Speaker C: Yeah, don't forget to like us and rate us and review us everywhere we know.
It lets people know about us. Let your friends know about us. Let random strangers on the Internet know about us by rating us.
[01:43:22] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:43:23] Speaker A: And please, yeah, rate, review, subscribe, give.
[01:43:25] Speaker C: Us five salt shakers. Give us five Godzilla breaths. Give us whatever you need to think.
[01:43:34] Speaker B: Of to make it more appropriate.
And what are we doing next week, David?
[01:43:39] Speaker C: Well, next week we have Johnny, would you believe we're going to read a couple of issues of Spawn next week?
[01:43:45] Speaker B: What? I can't believe we're going to be.
[01:43:50] Speaker C: Part of that record breaking team. And we're going to read spawn number.
[01:43:54] Speaker A: 301, the record breaker.
[01:43:57] Speaker C: Record breaker. Breaking the records.
[01:43:59] Speaker B: And then a very near and dear.
[01:44:03] Speaker C: To my heart new issue, king Spawn number 19.
[01:44:06] Speaker A: Oh, this is going to be a banger episode. That's the salmon Twitch issue.
[01:44:10] Speaker C: Yes, it is.
So that's going to be a great week. Spawn 301 and king spawn number 19.
[01:44:16] Speaker B: Oh, I can't wait for that episode, man. I can't wait for that either.
Well, Logan, thanks for coming by again. Yeah, for sure.
[01:44:24] Speaker A: We appreciate having you as our gunslinger convert, and it's fun to get some.
[01:44:28] Speaker B: Different perspectives in there.
[01:44:30] Speaker A: And, yeah, I'm glad you're enjoying the scorch, too.
[01:44:32] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm ready for more of that scorch, too.
[01:44:34] Speaker D: I like the masses of Spawn's team. Just like multiple Spawn team.
[01:44:40] Speaker B: Definitely.
[01:44:41] Speaker A: Well, you're giving me excuse to go buy the trade paperback, so watch out.
[01:44:45] Speaker C: And Johnny just needs the flimsiest excuse.
[01:44:48] Speaker D: To twist in arms over here.
[01:44:50] Speaker A: Yeah, twist my arm.
[01:44:52] Speaker B: Oh, man.
[01:44:52] Speaker C: Yeah, it's great. We love hearing that other people like this stuff as much as we do and that it's one of our friends, one of our good friends in real life, that makes it even better.
This just encourages us to talk to all of our other friends and be, guys, guys, guys.
You gotta get into Spawn. Logan did it. Why won't you just do it?
[01:45:16] Speaker A: It's happening. It's happening. We got Martez. I'm giving him unwanted violence for that episode coming up.
[01:45:21] Speaker B: So we're getting everybody nice. Nice. All right, well, so I guess that just leaves me to say, johnny and Logan, may the scorched be with you. And also with you, David. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. All right, Logan, I got.
[01:45:41] Speaker A: So it's a special surprise after the.
[01:45:43] Speaker B: Episode in my kitchen.
[01:45:45] Speaker A: I just catered a huge feast.
[01:45:46] Speaker B: I got a pig, we got a duck, we got a ham, we got.
[01:45:50] Speaker A: A turkey, and we're going to eat it all.
[01:45:52] Speaker B: We got ten bottles of whiskey.
Are you ready?
[01:45:55] Speaker D: Mini pies.
[01:45:56] Speaker B: Let's do it.
[01:45:56] Speaker A: And mini pies. All right, David, I'm finally leaving the.
[01:45:59] Speaker B: Closet to go eat dinner with Logan. All right, I'm sorry.
[01:46:04] Speaker C: Eat a little bit for me. I'll be by you to pick up a leftover plate.
[01:46:08] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll make you a plate. We'll keep you nice. I've got one of those cool party city wine glasses for you too.
[01:46:14] Speaker C: Oh, hell yeah. Hell yeah.
[01:46:15] Speaker A: You can have the full experience, but I do thank you. I'll talk to you next week.
[01:46:20] Speaker C: Bora petite.
