[00:00:00] Speaker A: Ah, at last, respite from the hullabal. Good evening and welcome to the Malbols. This is Regard and Spawn, World's Best. I don't know what kind of accident. I'm coming into the World's best Spawn podcast at Less at Worsted Accents. It started as country, and then it just became really weird. [00:00:52] Speaker B: Yeah, we. We do have a shift whenever we try to do accents, so that's. [00:00:57] Speaker A: That's true. [00:00:58] Speaker B: At least it didn't accidentally turn into a Bill Cosby, which, yeah. Tends to be where we end up more often. Yeah, that's weird. [00:01:05] Speaker A: I'm your co host, John Fisher, and. [00:01:06] Speaker B: I have your co host, David Williams, and I am not even going to attempt a draw because. [00:01:14] Speaker A: It'S going away. I saw on the Today show, my favorite TV show, the other day, yesterday, that the. Or maybe two days ago, that the southern draw is starting to fade. [00:01:25] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:01:26] Speaker A: Interesting that, like, it's just not as, like, prevalent as it once was. Because people. Younger people are, you know, getting their interaction on social media, not necessarily people around their vicinity, so they're not like, picking up accents as much. [00:01:40] Speaker B: Yep, yep, yep. That's. That's exciting that. Not. Not exciting that we're witnessing the end of a. Of a dialect. But. But fascinating that. That's kind of how this thing works. This speaking and talking is all. It's interesting. It's interesting. Linguistics is fascinating to me. [00:02:01] Speaker A: It's all constantly in motion and evolving. [00:02:05] Speaker B: Yeah, but I mean, that's. That's sad because I know a lot of people. A lot of people find the southern draw to be a very. A very sexy accent. I feel sorry. I feel sorry for those individuals who will be having to search harder and harder for their. Their oral pleasure. [00:02:24] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Talk about hardness and oral pleasure. David. [00:02:30] Speaker B: There was an a in there somewhere. [00:02:32] Speaker A: There's no sex. There's no sex in Spawn. [00:02:37] Speaker B: When they try. Oh, boy. It gets real awkward. [00:02:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:40] Speaker B: It's like. It's like watching a vampire movie with your mom. [00:02:46] Speaker A: Yeah. She did not come with us at Christmas when we saw Nosferatu. [00:02:51] Speaker B: No, she didn't. I've tried to get her to watch the new Nosferatu, but she doesn't have the. She doesn't have the thing. And then she's like, I'm not gonna sit on the couch for that long. No, no. I gotta be doing stuff. So it's a good one. [00:03:04] Speaker A: Good. [00:03:04] Speaker B: It's good. It's hella good. It's very good. [00:03:06] Speaker A: It is really good. [00:03:12] Speaker B: I do. I do like that there's like a small little eddy on the Internet where people are like, Dave Eggers. Not Dave Eggers. [00:03:23] Speaker A: Robert Eggers. [00:03:24] Speaker B: Robert Eggers. And they're not related. Weird. Robert Eggers used like an American loon sound in the background of one of the scenes for bird noise. And they were like, you son of a fucking bitch. That's an American loon in the back. [00:03:38] Speaker A: You're not perfect on your historical recreations. [00:03:41] Speaker B: And there's just like a fallout of like, everything is going bad because Robert Eggers put an American loon in the. [00:03:47] Speaker A: Back of a German set story. That reminds me of when I caught on Stranger Things Season 2. I believe they have a Millennium Falcon, but it's the repaint and reissue 90s Millennium Falcon. Not. Not the 70s, 80s one. [00:04:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:04:03] Speaker A: Which is the same mold because they reissued it, but the stickers and the paint job was like the 95 one. [00:04:11] Speaker B: Johnny. [00:04:11] Speaker A: What? [00:04:12] Speaker B: I think you might be a nerd. [00:04:14] Speaker A: What the fuck? I know a lot. I know a lot about the Star Wars Power of the Force line that ran from 1995 to like 2000. [00:04:23] Speaker B: I mean, that's. That's a. You gotta. You gotta have hobbies, right? [00:04:27] Speaker A: That was my hobby. I'm obsessed with those things. [00:04:30] Speaker B: Could be worse. You could be. You could be learning angels and demons and hell, guys. [00:04:36] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I was learning them. Star wars figures, man. [00:04:39] Speaker B: That's a. That's the. The thing that's hard to do is when you talk to people who are like, I just never got into Star Wars. Should I do Star Wars? And it's like, well, not really. [00:04:49] Speaker A: I was like, not at this point. Yeah, Megan was saying that and I was just like. I was like, at this point. Yeah. [00:04:55] Speaker B: To get the most enjoyment out of it, you have to. You have to sink a lot of upfront energy into it to kind of learn all the minutiae. And after you do that, it's great. But there's a. There's a buy in factor. And if you're not willing to buy in, just don't. You'll be fine. [00:05:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:13] Speaker B: There are other stories. [00:05:14] Speaker A: There are other stories. [00:05:16] Speaker B: Like thunderbolts, asterisk. [00:05:19] Speaker A: Did you see that? [00:05:20] Speaker B: I did not know. [00:05:22] Speaker A: It is a story. [00:05:22] Speaker B: It is a story. And it is. It is not. I guess you do have to buy into knowing a lot of the Marvel stuff too, don't you? [00:05:31] Speaker A: You kind of look like Wyatt Russell. [00:05:33] Speaker B: Me? [00:05:34] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:35] Speaker B: Definitely not as built as Wyatt Russell. Hopefully. Hopefully not as unintentionally badmin. As Riot Russell. As Captain America. [00:05:47] Speaker A: Yeah. What was his actual name? Oh, Geez, what does he go by? [00:05:53] Speaker B: I don't, No, I don't remember what they call and I don't even remember what the name of the characters. Character? Yeah, I think at one point he becomes Nomad, but I think that's like after the fact. I thought like after he gets kicked out of being. After he gets kicked out of being Captain America for being a dick, he becomes Nomad. [00:06:17] Speaker A: I think that's C. Rogers. Dude, we better stop talking. We're gonna lose people. [00:06:20] Speaker B: No, no, he's, he's, he's specifically not Steve Rogers because Steve Rogers is the original Captain America. But that was that man's name. [00:06:29] Speaker A: Okay, Steve Rogers isn't the one that becomes Nomad. [00:06:33] Speaker B: No, no, no, it's the next guy. The next guy. [00:06:37] Speaker A: Wyatt Russell. [00:06:37] Speaker B: Yeah, Wyatt Russell. It's close enough to a name. [00:06:41] Speaker A: You do kind of look like him, though. [00:06:42] Speaker B: Oh, that's exciting. [00:06:45] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, maybe it's just the blonde. [00:06:46] Speaker B: Beard, but maybe, maybe, maybe it's the. Maybe it's the American flag. I am draped in. [00:06:54] Speaker A: Yeah. David's naked except for the American flag. It's that hot in Chicago? [00:06:59] Speaker B: Not, not quite yet. Today, maybe this afternoon. [00:07:02] Speaker A: I don't think it's as hot as was yesterday. Yeah, well, it's hot off the presses. [00:07:08] Speaker B: Uh huh. [00:07:10] Speaker A: Still 299, even with all these tariffs. [00:07:12] Speaker B: Yeah, we've got two. [00:07:15] Speaker A: The reason we're talking Southern draws is we've got two country tinted episodes today. [00:07:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:24] Speaker A: Or issues. I mean, forgive me, the heat has vexed my delicate complexion. [00:07:32] Speaker B: We're wading into to Mark Twain territory. [00:07:36] Speaker A: I'm thinking more Arlis Loveless from Wild Wild West. Mr. West. [00:07:42] Speaker B: There's so. So at the risk of derailing us already there, there are several episodes of Star Trek the Next Generation where Data cosplays as Mark Twain and they are kind of universally reviled because nobody really likes the historical fiction episodes of Star Trek. [00:08:04] Speaker A: You want me to guess is that you like them? [00:08:07] Speaker B: I think they are fine. I love Data, so anything Data does can do no wrong. But in the last season of Lower Decks, they discovered that while everybody hates having to watch other people do the Mark Twain, everybody loves being Mark Twain. And so if there's ever like a conflict that they can't resolve, normally they have to go to the holodeck and argue as Mark Twain's arguing with each other. That's funny. So. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The, the Mark Twain. It's good. He's a funny guy. [00:08:43] Speaker A: Mark Twain, an American humorist. [00:08:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:48] Speaker A: We've got another American classic here. And that is the America of the Old west, the America of the modern world, because one of them is set in the modern world. [00:08:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:59] Speaker A: We've got two gunslinger issues today. [00:09:02] Speaker B: Yes, indeed. [00:09:03] Speaker A: Deadly Tales of the gunslinger number four and gunslinger 41. And what are we. We are respawn Regarding Spawn, where each week we bring you two issues, like I just mentioned, from Spawn's universe, except when we don't. We've had a couple guests in the last months. We've been doing one issues or we did a movie. We did. We did a Star wars movie for Star Wars Day. [00:09:26] Speaker B: Yeah. We've been doing. When we don't for a couple of. A couple of two, three times now. [00:09:30] Speaker A: Yeah, Just a little kayfabe. It's been a while since we recorded, so I feel like I haven't talked to David in a long time. That's why it's gonna be a wild one. [00:09:36] Speaker B: That's why we buried the lead about what this. This podcast is. [00:09:40] Speaker A: Yes. [00:09:41] Speaker B: Almost 15 minutes in. [00:09:43] Speaker A: Yes. [00:09:43] Speaker B: That's not bad. [00:09:45] Speaker A: So here we are. We're respawn, and we're gonna go over these Spawn issues, and it's gonna be great. It's gonna be a hoot nanny. [00:09:52] Speaker B: It is gonna be a hoot nanny. This. [00:09:54] Speaker A: It's gonna be a ballyhoo. [00:09:55] Speaker B: This episode should actually probably be called Regarding Gunslinger, or just hootenanny or Hootenanny. The hootenanny. I love a hootenanny. I love a ballyhoo. Johnny. [00:10:08] Speaker A: Yeah, there's some great words and verbiage in this Deadly Tales here. [00:10:12] Speaker B: It's. This Deadly Tales is so much fun. [00:10:16] Speaker A: Yeah, it's great. [00:10:17] Speaker B: Oh, man. And there's. We've been bemoaning the. The lack of forward movement in recent gunslinger issues, and they're making up for lost time in issue 41, Johnny. [00:10:28] Speaker A: They are. It's good. [00:10:30] Speaker B: It's good. It's very good. It's. [00:10:32] Speaker A: Especially the last half when he finally gets back with Linda. [00:10:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:35] Speaker A: Oh, the Godsend stuff's a little bit like Todd McFarlane nonsense, but, like. [00:10:40] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's a. It's a little contrived. There have been more contrived instances of Spawn's universe recently, though. So we'll let it. We'll let it slide. [00:10:51] Speaker A: Let it slide. [00:10:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:53] Speaker A: Yeah. I really liked both of them. It was fun to just be back in Spawn. It's been a couple weeks since I've sat down with you, so. [00:11:01] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. And my. My stack of unread Spawn continues To grow again, Johnny. [00:11:09] Speaker A: It's never ending. [00:11:10] Speaker B: Oh, boy. It's. That just means that when I get a chance, it'll be a nice. A nice couch sit. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:11:20] Speaker A: Or maybe an outdoor sit because it's nice weather. [00:11:22] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Sitting outside. That's not too bad at all. [00:11:25] Speaker A: Sitting in the sun. [00:11:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:28] Speaker A: Well, we always start with the covers. [00:11:30] Speaker B: Yes, we do. [00:11:31] Speaker A: And we might as well start with Deadly Tales. And this issue is from March 2025. [00:11:34] Speaker B: Yes, indeed. [00:11:36] Speaker A: And I have the A cover. [00:11:37] Speaker B: Ah, nice. What's on that A cover there, Johnny? [00:11:39] Speaker A: By Lewis nct. Is there only one color? Oh, wait, no. That's the colorist. Whoops. Martial Toledano. [00:11:48] Speaker B: Whoa, Johnny. Whoa, Johnny. I'm seeing. I'm seeing your cover that you got right there. And it's not the other cover on Image Comics dot com. That is not the COVID I have. [00:12:00] Speaker A: Okay, there's three covers. [00:12:02] Speaker B: Okay, Image comics dot com does not say there are three covers. [00:12:07] Speaker A: Well, the comic does. [00:12:08] Speaker B: Breaking news. [00:12:10] Speaker A: Well, it's Javi standing on a gravestone in a graveyard, looking off into the distance, looking off at the sunset. I guess not Javi. It's Tobias. [00:12:19] Speaker B: Tobias. Here lies Jeremy Winston. It says. [00:12:23] Speaker A: Yes. [00:12:25] Speaker B: Nice. It's a good one. I like that. Sunrise. Sunrise over the. Over the cemetery. That sounds like a ghost song. Sunrise over the cemetery. [00:12:39] Speaker A: It does. [00:12:40] Speaker B: Yeah. That's a good cover, Johnny. I like that cover. It's nice and dark blue. [00:12:48] Speaker A: Yeah, look at that blue and orange that draws your eye real nice. [00:12:53] Speaker B: And then I got. I got the Don Aglio cover. This cover B. And it is. It is gunslinger just firing away at all kinds of beasties. He's got. He's got his. His necroplasmically fired chains and just some. Pew, pew. Yeah, it's a real good one. [00:13:16] Speaker A: Probably my favorite of the bunch, actually, is the C cover. [00:13:20] Speaker B: Is the C cover. Yeah. The C cover is done by the. The hard new interior artist Chad Harden. [00:13:28] Speaker A: Who I very much enjoyed. [00:13:30] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. It is very. It is so much. It is so much fun. Oh, geez. Yeah, this cover has. It's got Javi, you know, riding a horse right at the. The viewer shooting a. Shooting a bad guy who's like, just to the right. All you can see is his hand and the gun that he's holding. [00:13:53] Speaker A: It's pretty cool. I love his art style. Thought it worked really well for this issue. [00:13:59] Speaker B: Yeah, it does. It's a fun little tonal shift because it feels a little less heavy. The writing for this issue and the art style fits it much Better than Patrick Reynolds would for a circus storyline. [00:14:18] Speaker A: I agree. We pop it open. [00:14:21] Speaker B: Yes, indeed. [00:14:23] Speaker A: We got the credits. We gotta give credit where credit is due. Script plot yet again by Jimmy Palmiotti. Art coming in here is Chad Harden on his first issue. Colors by Louis nct. And Juan Alvarez did the color flats. [00:14:39] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. [00:14:40] Speaker A: Lettering by Tom Wojakowski. We already covered the covers. Creative director is Todd McFarlane. And editor in chief is one Mr. Thomas Healy. [00:14:51] Speaker B: He. He is the ringmaster. [00:14:53] Speaker A: As they would say, he is the ringmaster. Previously in Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger. The gunslinger continues his journey to search of Wyatt King, wondering just what the mysterious gentleman might have to do with his current state. I wonder. [00:15:12] Speaker B: I wonder. Well, we should wonder no longer, Johnny, and get into it. We start off with this wonderful splash page here that's got all the characters of this issue just laid before us. [00:15:27] Speaker A: Yeah, I love that. I love that. It started with that. That was pretty cool. [00:15:30] Speaker B: Yeah, so we got. We got. We got. Oh, geez, what's his name? Fucking not hiding. [00:15:38] Speaker A: Oh, Tobias. [00:15:39] Speaker B: Tobias. Brain is dumb. We've got Tobias. We got Wyatt King. We got two. Two circus folk who we will meet later. And then we got a band of brigands down at the bottom there. [00:15:56] Speaker A: Yep. [00:15:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:57] Speaker A: And it says it's the Lethal Ballyhoo. [00:16:03] Speaker B: It's a great name for an issue. The Lethal Ballyhoo. [00:16:07] Speaker A: But it's love. I mean, just right off the bat, it's like, whoa. This art's completely different. This is cool. Like you said, it fits the circus vibe of this issue. Yeah, I just read a book about the circus. [00:16:18] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. You were talking about it. [00:16:20] Speaker A: I mentioned that it was really good. I finished it. The Night Circus. [00:16:23] Speaker B: The Night Circus. Right. Because I got it confused for Nights at the Circus. [00:16:26] Speaker A: No, Night Circus. It was great. It was very romantic and mysterious and had, like, good world building. Highly recommended. [00:16:37] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. [00:16:39] Speaker A: It's hot in this closet today, David. [00:16:43] Speaker B: I mean, that's kind of what happens in there, right? Yeah, you gotta. You gotta suffer for your art, Johnny. [00:16:51] Speaker A: I am suffering. [00:16:52] Speaker B: You do the suffering, and I'll do the enjoying the accolades. [00:16:56] Speaker A: Okay? [00:16:59] Speaker B: You can be. You can be my. You'll be my Demi Moore, and I'll be your Margot. Quality, Margaret. Quality. [00:17:09] Speaker A: You're right. You're almost there. [00:17:11] Speaker B: Quality. Not quali. Yeah, quali. It is quali. Oh, nice. And Spawn will be our substance. And then you will. You will grow to resent me. [00:17:24] Speaker A: Will. [00:17:27] Speaker B: You get back in your closet, old man? [00:17:30] Speaker A: No. But, yeah, I love that. It just lays out all the characters here and just kind of like, here comes the story. [00:17:35] Speaker B: Yeah. And then, bam, we got story. I like that. We start with the reading here. [00:17:44] Speaker A: At last, respite from the hullabaloo. [00:17:46] Speaker B: And we've got the ringmaster of this particular circus and his. His best lady, basically. She's basically. Oh, what's her name? The magic lady from DC Universe, Zatanna. She's basically Old West Zatanna, you know, just finishing up their circus and for the day, the ringmaster's counting his money. Old West Zatanna is like, ah, we should probably, you know, rest. And you know what you should do with that money? You should pay your fucking people. And ringmaster's like, you know what? I got a better idea. How about I go try to double our money? And she's like, again, remember what happened last time we learned. Her name is Becky not. Not Old West Zatanna. And he's like. He's like, becky, I ain't got no. I ain't got no better options. This is how it's gonna have to be. And so we. We get a. I love. I love the attention to detail to the old timey money, because Old west money is fascinating. It's fascinatingly beautiful. It's amazing that, like, not that. That there wasn't a higher percentage of forgeries, really. [00:19:04] Speaker A: I didn't know what. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Well, because at one point, I think each state could produce their own money and so it would all look different. Yeah. But also, it was basically just. It was just ink on paper, not like the. The weird cotton stuff we have with the. The detailed to death printing presses and all that. [00:19:31] Speaker A: Right. And this guy's like, huh? There ain't been alive that William B. Westinghouse can't trounce in a hand of poker. [00:19:39] Speaker B: The ringmaster doth protest too much, Johnny. [00:19:42] Speaker A: Yep. Three hours and a dozen hands later, and he is. He's busted. [00:19:49] Speaker B: He's. He's so bad at this, Johnny. He has himself four of a kind. There are very few things to be four of a kind. And he fights himself face to face with one of those things, the royal flush. So. So man is. Man is destitute. And he's like, well, you've got all my stuff. You've got all my money. The only thing that I can make good on this bet with is to give you my circus. And so this man that the ringmaster Westinghouse has lost to, they go outside for. For a little bit of. To catch the evening air because Mr. Westinghouse is just in it. Um, And Westinghouse hands over the deeds to the circus. And it's like, here, you're gonna. You're gonna need this. The. The circus is called the Crook and Crow Circus. We make some pretty good money. That was. You just. You just took all my earnings from a single good night. And it's like, treat them all nicely. Tell Becky I'm sorry. And then. Shoots himself right there. Yeah. Bland on the. On the porch. [00:21:00] Speaker A: This is our first instance of violence in this new Chad Harden art. And his violence is crazy. [00:21:08] Speaker B: Yeah. It is wild. It is. It is very. It's kind of like the Addams Family children's school recital style. [00:21:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:20] Speaker B: It's just blood everywhere. [00:21:23] Speaker A: It's so bright red. [00:21:24] Speaker B: Yeah. And so this guy is just covered in blood, standing over Mr. Westinghouse's body, who's. The back of his head has fallen off and his brain is falling out there. [00:21:37] Speaker A: Yes. [00:21:38] Speaker B: And he's like. Well, I guess I reckon I'm. Reckon I'm a ringmaster now. Just peachy. [00:21:47] Speaker A: What a way to become a ringmaster. [00:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah, man, they don't call it the Greatest show on Earth for nothing, Johnny, that's for sure. Oh, boy. That's a real rough way to accept a job offer, though. [00:22:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:01] Speaker B: Here. Here's a job for you. Take it or don't. I'm dying. [00:22:06] Speaker A: Yeah. You're now responsible for all these people. [00:22:12] Speaker B: Then we cut to one month later, and we got Tobias. Oh, boy. Just. Just reclining in respite. Tobias is fucking spooky as shit, Johnny. [00:22:27] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:27] Speaker B: Look at this skeleton, man. He does. [00:22:31] Speaker A: His art style on this is really cool. [00:22:33] Speaker B: He looks exceptionally papa in this. [00:22:36] Speaker A: He does. I love the ornate of the ornate shoulders on the jacket, too. Yeah, those are really cool. [00:22:44] Speaker B: It is really cool. I like the. The, like, his gloves. Like his. His hands have shriveled up besides his gloves so much that it just looks like they're their skin. [00:22:57] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, he's cooking a gopher. [00:23:02] Speaker B: Yeah, he's cooking a summer groundhog or something. Don't know what. It ain't got a head, so I can't identify it. [00:23:10] Speaker A: Maybe a rabbit. [00:23:11] Speaker B: Yeah, maybe. I don't think the back legs are big enough for it to be a rabbit. [00:23:16] Speaker A: Probably a prairie dog. [00:23:18] Speaker B: Yeah. And he just starts talking. He's just, like, talking to the shadows, and he's like, you gotta. You got two choices. You can either come out of them shadows or you can stay in those shadows forever. We see a lady steps out from behind a rock in a tree. And begging your pardon, your smoke caught My eye. Sounds like somebody like a coded message for buying drugs. Johnny, your smoke caught my eye. [00:23:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:55] Speaker B: And this is Sofia Hernandez. And she has a little baby with her named Lily. And she is. She is looking for her daughter Lucy. Some evil men have plucked her from. From her side. [00:24:13] Speaker A: They dragged her back to the circus to exploit her. [00:24:15] Speaker B: Yeah. And they were heading to Sacramento, California, to join her brother when they were set upon by these men. What plucked her. And so Tobias is like, well, I mean, we're here. I got this thing cooking. You want some of this thing? I'm cooking. And she's like, no, no, no, no. I'd rather kill me some scoundrels for dinner. [00:24:36] Speaker A: Yeah. I need a gun. I don't need. I don't need any of your fucking gopher. [00:24:40] Speaker B: Yeah, she. She will go fur to kill these guys. [00:24:45] Speaker A: Yeah. She's like, I need a gun. And he's like, okay, well, how many scoundrels are there exactly? [00:24:51] Speaker B: Yeah. And also, I just realized she has a gigantic jug with her. Yeah, man, Gigantic. And then we cut to the. The camp that the scoundrels have made, and it's one Conestoga and one. I don't know. That might just be a covered wagon. I don't think it's whoopty enough to be a Conestoga. [00:25:20] Speaker A: I was about to say, yeah. [00:25:24] Speaker B: All Conestogas are covered wagons, but not all covered wagons are Conestogas. [00:25:29] Speaker A: Okay. [00:25:29] Speaker B: As it often goes. Then we got the scoundrels sitting around the fire being like, well, we got this lady that her boss sent us to get. Go get. What. What. What are we gonna do now? We're gonna go back and kill those other people we stole her from. We probably should do that, don't you think? And there's one guy who's like, you better not do that. [00:25:48] Speaker A: He's like a werewolf man. [00:25:49] Speaker B: Yeah, he looks. He looks a lot like a, like, Blanche's wolf man. Probably. It might be Blanchaney's wolf man. I'm thinking of a child. A child wolf man. What's a child wolf man in. [00:26:07] Speaker A: Island of Dr. Moreau? [00:26:11] Speaker B: Oh, that makes me sad. The island of Dr. Moreau or whatever. [00:26:15] Speaker A: He's an Eddie Munster wolfman. [00:26:17] Speaker B: Oh, that's who I'm thinking of. Eddie Munster. Yeah. Nice. So we got Eddie Munster. We got Grumpy Old Hat man with the biggest. The biggest mutton chops. [00:26:30] Speaker A: We've got an illustrated man, a tattooed man. [00:26:33] Speaker B: Yeah. And then we have a lady with horns, and she is bound. [00:26:39] Speaker A: So we assume this is Lucy So. [00:26:41] Speaker B: This is Lucy, and the. The hat man and the wolf man are getting into it. And because the hat Man's like, we don't need to go back and kill that other lady. She already got a good piece out of me. The Wolf Man. It's like, you coward. Just fucking. Just fucking go finish the job. They're arguing back and forth, and then. And then the strongman, the very. The very classic strongman, steps in and is like, hey, you boys, you. You, hush it. We done got the thing we were sent for. We don't gotta worry about anything else. We're gonna. We're gonna take Lucy to the boss. That's final. And the wolf, that's it. Wolfman's like, sure, sure, sure. But I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go kill that lady in the morning, so don't you worry about it. I say, we don't need. We don't need them rearing their heads again in the future, ruining our plans. And then we cut to Tobias following the trail on his horse. They are very easy for him to track. [00:27:49] Speaker A: Yeah. They're kind of just in the middle of the field there. [00:27:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Way out in the open. And he knows. He knows that Sophia is following him despite all of the warnings he gave her. Or knowing gunslinger, the one warning that he assumed everybody would take to heart. [00:28:05] Speaker A: Right. Don't follow me. [00:28:07] Speaker B: Yeah. And then. And then he comes upon. He comes upon the guy, the scoundrels, and says, evening. Which view is Elroy? And the strongman is Elroy. And then the hat man starts asking who this gunslinger is. And gunslinger says, I'm a friend of Sophia. I'm here to take the girl now. And then Wolfman gets up and is like, you motherfucker, I'm gonna shoot you. He says, this girl is the property of Mr. King. So there's our connection to knowing that Wyatt King is. Wyatt King is he who was covered in blood and was christened the. The ringmaster of the Crook and Crow Circus. [00:28:55] Speaker A: And how the course is like, Wyatt King. [00:28:57] Speaker B: Yeah. And Wolfmate's like, yeah, she's his property. And Tobias doesn't take kindly to referring to people as property, so she isn't a horse to own. [00:29:13] Speaker A: But then the illustrated man is like, hell, yeah. Look at her. She's got horns. She does. She has horns. [00:29:20] Speaker B: Yeah. He's like, I ain't checked her for hooves yet. And then Tobias. Tobias is like, lucy, you okay? [00:29:34] Speaker A: They didn't hurt me. [00:29:35] Speaker B: Yeah. And Eloy is like, or Elroy. Elroy says, I wouldn't let a damn thing happen to this lady. And so Tobias, the businessman that he is, was like, so I propose trade. And so they're like, okay, how about this? How about you don't shoot us and you act as protection to drop us off at the circus, and then maybe Wyatt King won't kill you. How about that? And Tobias doesn't like those. Those terms. That's not a good deal for him, Johnny. If this were the Shark Tank for plans of what to do with this prisoner, he would say, I'm not. Not for me. [00:30:26] Speaker A: Not for me. How about this plan? Give me that girl. What? [00:30:30] Speaker B: Oh, no, no, I'll let you. [00:30:32] Speaker A: He's like, yeah, at this point, give me that girl and take me to your boss and I'll show him what's up. [00:30:38] Speaker B: Yeah. And they're like, nah, I don't. I don't think that. And he's like, well, okay, we'll go with the alternative. The alternative is just fucking these guys all the way up. [00:30:52] Speaker A: Yep. Sophia starts it. She just shoots the fucking Wolf man like, bam. Right in the dome. [00:30:58] Speaker B: Yeah. She just pulls this. This double double barrel shotgun out of nowhere. [00:31:04] Speaker A: Awesome. Cartoony violence. [00:31:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, boy. [00:31:07] Speaker A: Chad Harden does. It's so cool. It's almost like a comics. [00:31:12] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:31:13] Speaker A: With an X. Yeah. That panel specifically looks like something I like, Fritz the Cat or something. I don't know. [00:31:19] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Or. Or like something from a. Something that they had to cut out of a Cracked magazine because it went just too far. [00:31:27] Speaker A: Right? That's what it looks like. Yeah. [00:31:28] Speaker B: Yeah. And so. So after Sophia shoots Wolfman just spectacularly in the head, the. The Tattooed man starts firing back at her. And then while the. The Tattooed man starts firing, the Hat man starts firing too. And then Tobias is just like, well, you asked for it. He shoots the Illustrated man right in the head. And then he turns. He turns the Hat man basically into a crash test dummy. [00:31:58] Speaker A: Yeah. He rips. He shoots both of his arms and his head off. [00:32:03] Speaker B: Oh, man, I love it. I love it. And so then we get the aftermath. And Sophia is on the ground, dazed, and Tobias is on the back of the horse with his. His pistol smoking while it's. And then we've got dead bodies lying on the ground. And then Hat Man's body without arms or heads, just standing there still, just. [00:32:29] Speaker A: Standing there shooting blood out, spurting out. [00:32:30] Speaker B: Of its neck stump. And then Tobias turns on Elroy, and Elroy says, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, please, no. And Sophia's like, no, no. That guy that guy helped us escape. Escape. [00:32:46] Speaker A: That guy's all right. [00:32:47] Speaker B: He's all right. And so she frees Sophia, frees Lucy, while Tobias just drags Elroy away to have a little. A little conversation with him, right? [00:32:59] Speaker A: Talk to him a little bit. [00:33:00] Speaker B: Yeah, tell me. [00:33:01] Speaker A: Everything's like, tell me about White King. [00:33:05] Speaker B: And, you know, basically. Basically, he started out. He started out as a pretty good boss, you know, especially seeing as how, like, he. Very unceremoniously, it was just like, hey, guess what? I own all of you now. But has. Has since become a bit darker, twisted, foul. And Tobias is like. But he is. He is like a human person, right? Elro is like, what? He's a ghost. What are you talking about? And so. So Elroy is just like, man, I need to. I gotta. I'm trying to get out of here. And Tobias is like, here, have some money. Grab your folks and get the. Just get the hell out of here. Make like a tree and get out of here, he says. And so then Tobias is like, well, how do I find King? And Elroy's like, you go this way. You go southbound a little bit, and I'm gonna. I'm gonna go this way. And Tobias says, ah, not so fast. We got some. We got some bodies to bury. [00:34:08] Speaker A: Pulls out a shovel. [00:34:09] Speaker B: Yeah. And so they. By the. By the light of the fire, they start digging a hole. And Elroy at one point says, should we say a few words? [00:34:23] Speaker A: Tobias says, just did. [00:34:28] Speaker B: And then we learned that the baby. The baby that Sofia was carrying earlier, Lily is not Sophia's child, but the child of Lucy and Elroy. [00:34:41] Speaker A: Yes. [00:34:43] Speaker B: And then. And then. And then Tobias gives them the very exact same warning that the angel gives Lot and his wife before they leave their home. No turning back. So we'll see if any salt pillars occur on the mesas and in forthcoming issues. And Lucy. [00:35:04] Speaker A: Lucy, who could see the future, has, like, a vision. [00:35:06] Speaker B: Yeah, she has a vision. Almost like a prophecy. [00:35:10] Speaker A: She says, it's a game. All of it. Your destiny lies here, but not here. [00:35:15] Speaker B: And he's like, I don't understand. She says, me either, dude. I'm just. I'm just passing on. [00:35:19] Speaker A: I'm just telling you what I see. I'm just the messenger. [00:35:22] Speaker B: Yeah. And she says, we will. We will meet again to return the kindness you've done for us. This I know. And he says, sure, sure, kid. Very Han Solo. Like, yeah, okay, fine, whatever you say. And then. And then the wind. The wind carries the. He. He rides like the wind. And the wind in turn brings to his ears, the sound of galloping horses. Because there are, there are the writers from the very first page. Remember? The writers riding forth toward Tobias from the circus. [00:36:09] Speaker A: The race of the broken land. [00:36:10] Speaker B: Yes. Oh, actually, yes. And they are holding aloft torches as they. They run toward him. And they're shooting at him. They're shooting and Tobias starts shooting back. And man, he gets. He gets some good shots on him, Johnny, but. [00:36:29] Speaker A: But they do nothing. [00:36:30] Speaker B: Shoot. Shoot as he shoot as he will. They slow them down none. Ain't slowed down at all. And then they catch up to him. And then one of them like rifle whips Tobias right off his horse. Oh boy. That guy's probably pretty good at polo, don't you think, Johnny? [00:36:47] Speaker A: Yeah, and jousting. [00:36:49] Speaker B: That's once his. Once his evil deeds working for Wyatt King are over. He could. He could be a jockey and make a fair bit of money on the sports circuit. And then, and then while Tobias is on the ground, these four, these four writers dismount and he's just. Tobias is just shooting, blasting away, blasting away at him. And they just keep coming and they keep coming and they keep coming. And panic sets in. [00:37:20] Speaker A: Johnny, his guns start to click. He's out of ammo. [00:37:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. He says he can't focus. What are you. And then Black end of part one. Oh, man. Oh, so fucking cool. [00:37:38] Speaker A: Yeah, what a fun ride, man. [00:37:40] Speaker B: I'm real excited for this arc. [00:37:43] Speaker A: Circus Circus Showdown next issue. [00:37:47] Speaker B: Yes indeed. We get the awesome new gunslinger insignia on that last page there to end the issue. [00:37:57] Speaker A: We got a bunch of ads. [00:37:58] Speaker B: Yeah, we got the Spawn Call of Duty ad. The Toys, the New Generation, New Stories, New youw Spin Offs issues coming up. Mortal Kombat 1, the. The remake toys with that sub zero there. Yes, sub zero. And then the Image Classics ad is the back. [00:38:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:24] Speaker B: Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Number four, Johnny. Hell yeah. [00:38:28] Speaker A: Yeehaw. [00:38:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:37] Speaker A: Next up we got more gunslinger action, but a different gunslinger in a different time period. Is this a hobby issue and it's regular gunslinger spawn? [00:38:46] Speaker B: Yes, indeed it is. Good times, Good times. Great oldies. Old timey westerns. There's some great covers for this one, Johnny. [00:38:58] Speaker A: Yep, I've got the A cover. [00:39:00] Speaker B: I also have the A cover. The Raymond Gay cover. [00:39:04] Speaker A: And it is badass. [00:39:05] Speaker B: Yeah, it is. Javi standing there holding a knife and a gun. Yeah, it's like a. It's like a thicket made of. Made of hot goop. [00:39:18] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:39:19] Speaker B: And it's just like hanging out with a whole bunch of crows. [00:39:22] Speaker A: The B cover is by Marco Falia. [00:39:25] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's great. It looks like it's. It's so. It's desert scene, dead tree covered in buzzards. It's nighttime. Javi is riding his horse toward the viewer, and it looks like he stole one of the Nazgul's horses because it's got this elaborate headpiece that has fire coming out of the back of it instead of a mane. It's awesome. [00:39:51] Speaker A: Pretty cool. [00:39:53] Speaker B: That's dope. That would be a really good. If they put out another gunslinger horse action figure to have this style horse with the. The flames on its hooves in its mane instead of. Oh, yeah, actual horse. [00:40:09] Speaker A: Looks like Diablo four horse, which I started playing again. David. [00:40:13] Speaker B: Johnny. Is it a new season? [00:40:15] Speaker A: It is a new season. [00:40:16] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. That's the only way I know it's seasons. How's the season so far? Is it a good one? [00:40:21] Speaker A: Yeah, so far, so good. I played that much, but I played a little bit. Yeah. It's fun. [00:40:26] Speaker B: Nice. [00:40:26] Speaker A: They added a bunch of new stuff and they improved some quality of life things. So I'm happy. [00:40:31] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. Well, I am happy you are happy because I know that Blizzard make things way too addictive. And. And I would literally forget about important things to do in my life and would come out of my room like Ash Williams in the end of the director's cut of army of Darkness after having slept too long. I would be like, what year is it? [00:41:02] Speaker A: I'm not that addicted to Diablo anymore, but it's more just like a fun diversion. [00:41:07] Speaker B: Yeah, they're just very good at making those. It's cracking. It's audio. Visual crack. Yeah. Well, very exciting. I love a. I love a Diablo. I love a Nazgul. I love a Gunslinger Johnny. [00:41:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:41:22] Speaker B: And you know what else I love about a gunslinger? I love giving credit where the credit is due. Pop open this issue 41 of Gunslinger and we see the script's plot by Todd McFarlane. [00:41:35] Speaker A: Unmistakable. [00:41:36] Speaker B: Very unmistakable. Although not bad as far as Todd father goes. [00:41:40] Speaker A: No, it's good. And he, like, ties in some arcs and goes back to some callbacks. Like, not too bad. [00:41:45] Speaker B: Yeah. When he. When he's not stalling for time to make everything line up, he's. He's going for it. Art by Carlo Barberi, color by Ivan Nunez. Tom O is doing the lettering. We covered the covers. Creative director is Todd McFarlane, and the editor in chief is Thomas Healy. This is his zoo. These are his monkeys. Don't let him tell you any different. [00:42:13] Speaker A: It's true. [00:42:14] Speaker B: Yeah. And then previously in Gunslinger Godson's. Appearance starts a brutal and bloody battle with the gunslinger. [00:42:25] Speaker A: That's what we open on. [00:42:26] Speaker B: That's exactly where we open. We open. We even open in media fight with Godson's face just there and one of his eyes gouged out and just like mouth open and ah. We do the good, the bad and the ugly switch from Godson's face to Javi's face and then Dog's face. The dog's face to Javi's knives. So these are all the players. There's Godsend, Javi, Knives and Dog. And then we get a callback to one of the Todd father's favorite conceits for characters and their nemeses that they're just two sides of the same coin. [00:43:13] Speaker A: Johnny, he loves saying that. He also loves saying that greed is the root of all evil. [00:43:19] Speaker B: Yeah, we. Yeah we are that the. It's a deadly sin that has has they've all fallen prey to and that of greed. And this is displayed over the. The opening. The opening hits of this issue's fight. So it's continuing the fight. But first bits of fight in this issue. Javi coming at Godsend with a knife and then Godsend Fobah. What a ha. Like taekwondoing them out of his hands and like doing some real damage because there's like the. The. The stars of. Of. Of hurt body parts coming off a Javi over here. [00:43:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:44:00] Speaker B: And then. And then the dog steps in and grabs. Grabs Godson's dress and is like ah. And then Godsend flings the dog away from him and then as. As he's distracted in the flinging, Javi comes back up with the knife and tries to ha ha again. And then Godsent just grabs Javi by his. By his scarf like and pulls him up and throws him away and then shoots him with some God beams. [00:44:34] Speaker A: There's this weird over the text over. It is like it's sadly the atrocities brought for that greed have come almost exclusively from the side of males. [00:44:45] Speaker B: Yeah. So we learned that not only is it human greed that is causing all of this or the human sin of greed that's causing all of this, but it's also them men to be fighting. Johnny. It's like the Todd father's out here going whose man's is this? And then because deep buried deep within them, between in all of us is a flaw. The one that we will never admit to ourselves that no matter who created us, we're emotional animals and use our intellect. Second. So. [00:45:19] Speaker A: So, so some good priest sizing from the Todd. Father. [00:45:23] Speaker B: Yeah. This is. This is like. Oh, so you don't think women can lean because they're emotional? Well, checkmate. Min's emotional, too. [00:45:30] Speaker A: Gotcha. [00:45:32] Speaker B: So, yeah, very true. And then, like, the. The narration just, like, unceremoniously stops. It's like. Like, now, that's why you. That's why you see what you see now. [00:45:43] Speaker A: It's like, what, because of greed and. [00:45:46] Speaker B: Green and being men. But. But at this point, Javi and the dog are, like, held within a. A fiery sphere of God power. And godsend is like, I'm going to crush you. I'm going to make this ball shrink up, and I'm going to crush you. [00:46:00] Speaker A: It's like Samus. Aaron's like, rolly ball and Metroid. [00:46:04] Speaker B: Yeah. It's like a. It's like a Pokeball, only right. Javi doesn't have the ability to shrink with it. [00:46:11] Speaker A: It's just shrinking on him. It's gonna crush him. [00:46:13] Speaker B: Yeah. And so. So he's, like, shrinking. Shrinking till he's, like, a little bitty ball. He's, like, in there. Like, he's a. He's. He's cosplaying as a. As an unborn chicken. [00:46:22] Speaker A: Yes. [00:46:22] Speaker B: And Godson's like, while I have you here, let's. Let's. Let's talk. I don't want to kill you yet. I need answers, Addie. So. So Godson starts, you know, saying, I need answers. Here's the thing that happened. I was. I was aligned with Clown because it got me what I needed. I am looking for something very valuable to me, and clown was my way to get it. But then you, as all natural, had to just blow up everything and mess up all of my plans. [00:47:00] Speaker A: They did the time rip, and it stole all their lives. [00:47:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:47:04] Speaker A: I love this part because he's getting sucked back in time. [00:47:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I like. I like the. Like, it's. They're just, like, looking around, watching everybody zip around in time, just being like. [00:47:12] Speaker A: Yeah, look, there goes Mandarin spot. There goes. Oh, there goes. [00:47:16] Speaker B: There goes monolith. [00:47:17] Speaker A: There goes Monolith. Yeah. So he's getting sucked back as everyone's going to accept. Yeah. [00:47:23] Speaker B: And then. And then in this. In this kerfuffle, he sees Javi being pulled in one direction, and Javi looks so much like a rag doll in this. [00:47:32] Speaker A: I know. [00:47:33] Speaker B: And then. And the Godson's like, there's a man that I think I might be able to get what I need out of, because I think he's looking for the same thing I'm looking for. Because we learned that the valuable thing that Godsend is looking for is his family. And as we all know, the one thing Javi's looking for is his family. [00:47:55] Speaker A: They're birds of a feather. Two sides of the same coin. [00:47:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Or the same side of the same coin. Oh, I'm surprised we didn't get a call back to that one. [00:48:03] Speaker A: He gets lost in the nether void. [00:48:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:48:05] Speaker A: And then he's just like floating in there. [00:48:07] Speaker B: Yeah. But then he is. He is replaced to his proper, his property area spot by Queen Nix. She just, like, appears before him and is like, you go back home. [00:48:22] Speaker A: Then he's back on Earth. [00:48:23] Speaker B: Yeah. He gets sent to what looks probably like a tropical paradise. Johnny, look at all those palm trees. [00:48:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Where's the Jurassic Park? [00:48:34] Speaker B: And this is where Godsend says to find my family. And then Javi's just in the ball like family. And then Vin Diesel comes out and he's like, family. [00:48:43] Speaker A: And he goes, my mom's name is Martha. And he goes, my mom's name is Martha. [00:48:49] Speaker B: Oh, boy. And so Godson's like, well, since we're both looking for our families, I think. I think we can maybe help each other. So Godson is looking for his daughter. And, you know, that's. That's why he's. He's been. He's been doing what he's been doing because he's been trying to get back to finding his daughter. And he's just been getting. He's been played over and over and over again, Johnny. He's. He's making it seem like he's. He's a victim, which, maybe, but I think. I think God, I think Godson knows what he's doing. He was. He knows what he's doing. And then Javi's like, well, if we're gonna. If we're gonna start searching, we gotta get out of here. Can you get us out of here to, like, someplace where people actually are, like, really quickly? [00:49:39] Speaker A: Yeah. Can you like, teleport us? [00:49:41] Speaker B: Gutson's like, yeah, I could do that. And Javi's is good. Dog is tired. I don't want to make him walk. And he's like, but first we gotta make a stop. And so then we see why is auto shop with police out front. And then we got Wyatt talking to the cops. They're like, we're looking for this. We're looking for a cold blooded murderer and anybody that's associated with them. And Wyatt's like, I. I don't know what you're talking about. [00:50:11] Speaker A: Know Nothing about that. [00:50:13] Speaker B: And then they're like, we need to take a look around. And he's like, sure, fine, go ahead. Sure. And then a whole panel of just Wyatt sitting next to what looks like a. It looks a lot like the. The car that Sam has in those early double digit issues. [00:50:34] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:50:35] Speaker B: That he's always so protective of, but then just has filled with garbage. Only this one has a. Has a yellow paint job instead of a red. And then the cops come back out and the only thing they have found is this pet lizard. This. You gotta. You got a license for this exotic pet? And then why is like, nah, I only have a license for the ones that turn into horses. Which is funny. [00:50:59] Speaker A: Only this crazy old man alone. [00:51:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Funny joke. But these police don't get it. [00:51:04] Speaker A: They're just like, this guy's nuts. [00:51:06] Speaker B: Yeah. And then they drive away. And Wyatt's like, those guys fucking suck. And then he walks back into his office and is like, okay, Linder, you can. You can talk. Clear. Yeah. And we learned that Wyatt magicked Linda to. As long as she stayed still and quiet, she would appear invisible to anyone. [00:51:31] Speaker A: Just like a T. Rex. [00:51:32] Speaker B: Just like, yeah, absolutely. And then Wyatt gets immediately angry. He's like, I told you, don't go outside. And she was like, dude, I just. I just needed to go for a walk. It fucking stuffy as hell in here. It's a goddamn unair conditioned auto repar or auto repair garage in the middle of the fucking mountain west. And you got candles burning in here all the goddamn time. I needed some fresh air. So why Is like, it was dangerous. And Linda's like, what the fuck are you talking about? I was just going outside for a breather. And then. And then unceremoniously, Javi just pops in and is like, oh, hey, sorry. Sorry for putting you in this position there. Linda. She's like, the fuck is this? Javi And God sending the dog. Just coming in. Just walking. [00:52:17] Speaker A: Just walking right in. [00:52:20] Speaker B: Linda is very excited to see Javi and. And Javi's like, man, I'm so sorry for putting you in this position, Linda. And Linda just slaps him. Oh, boy. He asks if she can forgive him and she. I don't think she's gonna forgive him after all your lies and your friends. They're goddamn weirdos. [00:52:43] Speaker A: That's what my mom says to me. [00:52:46] Speaker B: Oh, man, just wait till she gets a load of me, Johnny. [00:52:51] Speaker A: I know. [00:52:54] Speaker B: And then Wyatt. Wyatt, like, walks up behind Godson and is like, ooh, I know you angel. You killed my. You killed my People trying to steal our feathers. You son of a. And godson. [00:53:09] Speaker A: He's like, yo. [00:53:09] Speaker B: He's like, oh, that wasn't me. [00:53:10] Speaker A: Not all angels. [00:53:12] Speaker B: He's like. He's a shaggy. It wasn't me. [00:53:15] Speaker A: Wasn't me. [00:53:17] Speaker B: And it's like, they all looked like you. So what? All angels look the same. Oh, man. Todd, Father on that social. Social commentary tip here. [00:53:28] Speaker A: Johnny, a little bit. [00:53:29] Speaker B: A little seeping. It's seeping in there. He's a. He's a nice. He's a nice Canadian boy. But sometimes the. Sometimes the vitriol comes through the cracks. And then Linda. Linda's just like, angels with the angels, just, like, lost in her own little. Like, Javi and Wyatt and Godsend have their own little. Like, they. They're ignoring Linda completely, and she's just like. With fucking angels. [00:53:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:57] Speaker B: And she. She loses it. She loses it. Shut up, all of you. [00:54:02] Speaker A: I don't shoot people in cold blood or cast invisible spells. [00:54:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:54:05] Speaker A: How could any angel ever want to hurt God? You're all insane. [00:54:09] Speaker B: Yeah. She just wants to go home to her family. She misses her family, Johnny. [00:54:14] Speaker A: Right? [00:54:14] Speaker B: And that shut. That shuts the boys up real quick. They're just all just like, oh, oh. And then Javi's. Javi's like, man, Linda, we're fighting for all of us to be able to see. See our families. That's what's happening here. And Linda's like, but you've been. You've been just fucking killing people. This. His. His. Javi's response is a little weird to this. We wanted to see if she was safe. She is. I feel like. I feel like there was a. [00:54:48] Speaker A: Who's he talking about? [00:54:49] Speaker B: I don't know. It feels. It feels like there was a little missing bit, because obviously. Obviously. [00:54:53] Speaker A: Are you talking about her mom? [00:54:57] Speaker B: But she doesn't mention her mom specifically. She just says her family. And, like, there's obviously her mom. And I think she has brothers and sisters. [00:55:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:55:06] Speaker B: Yeah. I feel like they might have skipped a. Skipped a little paragraph of dialogue somewhere. But then godson breaks up the tender moment, and he's like, hey, we gotta leave. And Wyatt is very upset. He's like, you're working with these motherfuckers. And then. And then the dog is just like, oh, hey, look, a sad person. I'm gonna go cheer up the sad person. And just starts licking. Licking Linda's face. And then Javi is explaining that to Wyatt. I'm just teaming up with these angels to find my sister. He's gonna find his daughter. We're gonna fight, we're gonna find these. These family members we need and then it'll be all fine. [00:55:47] Speaker A: And why is like, yo, dude, Amy's gone forever. You can't undo that. [00:55:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:50] Speaker A: Whatever happened, happened. [00:55:52] Speaker B: Yeah. And Javi does not like that answer at all. And he slams ya against the wall. And then Godson's like, hey, dude, what the fuck you doing? You're hurting that old man. And so then Javi. Javi just like turns on his heel and walks out the door. And Linda's like, javi, don't. Don't leave. Javi, don't. Don't go. [00:56:11] Speaker A: But go. He does. [00:56:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:14] Speaker A: Then it just cuts them in the middle of this battle of angels. [00:56:16] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's an incredible two page spread. It's just Javi and Javi and Godsend shooting beams and got blood all over their. Their stabby. Their stabby. Stabs. Weapons. That's what they're called. Oh, boy. Just so much carnage. And that we learned that the sadness that Linda saw in Javi's face as he left actually wasn't sadness, but guilt. Unrelenting guilt and anger of what happened to his sister Amy and now what's happening to Linda. The anguish that it's his fault. All of it anchoring him even more, sending him into a loop of hate and guilt and guilt and hate. [00:57:06] Speaker A: And his emotions get the better of. [00:57:07] Speaker B: Him, those male emotions, that male greed. And he begins. So the loop continues, Johnny, that loop, it begins over and over again. [00:57:20] Speaker A: Somber ending. [00:57:21] Speaker B: I like this, this like focus in on just like the end of his, his. His pistol. Just like the barrel firing. [00:57:30] Speaker A: Yeah, it's Very somber ending. [00:57:34] Speaker B: Boy, it's a wild. It's a wild ride and a very, very sad place to leave us off. [00:57:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:42] Speaker B: But then we got necroplasm meter 0942 in the issue. [00:57:47] Speaker A: Yep, yep. [00:57:49] Speaker B: He's still not doing too hot there, but better than he has been. [00:57:53] Speaker A: Right. [00:57:56] Speaker B: And then we got Spawn Ground Presents, some fan art. [00:58:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I got three fan arts. [00:58:02] Speaker B: Yeah, we got. The first one is a winner from the McFarlane Discord Fan art getting featured in the books that Thomas Healy's been talking about from Create My comic. It's a nice little hobby on a horse riding away from just like a gaggle of old western guys. [00:58:25] Speaker A: Yep. [00:58:26] Speaker B: A lot of. Lot of ponchos in the background there. Then we got Brokenvale Art has a nice little. Little profile of Javi just like breathing out some necroplasmic air. He's got his. His Hat tipped back a little bit. [00:58:45] Speaker A: And I love the third one. [00:58:46] Speaker B: Oh, that third one is great. Yeah. It's. It's Javi sitting at a bar enjoying a smoke and a drink while just dead bodies are everywhere. Like, he fought his way into this bar just to get a drink. [00:58:59] Speaker A: Yeah. He's like, I just need a damn drink. [00:59:01] Speaker B: Yeah. It's amazing. Neymar Spawns Universe, Johnny. [00:59:08] Speaker A: You know it. [00:59:08] Speaker B: They don't miss the ongoing titles. We got them all here. Like, I like that spawn 363 cover there with that Queen Nix just, like, holding on to a demon like she's about to eat it like an apple. [00:59:22] Speaker A: Yeah, it's pretty cool. [00:59:23] Speaker B: Damn. [00:59:24] Speaker A: Image Classics ad yet again. And yet again, we get the Spawn Call of Duty toy ad, huh? [00:59:31] Speaker B: Very nice. And that is gunslinger number 41, Johnny. [00:59:37] Speaker A: Can you believe it? 41 issues in. [00:59:39] Speaker B: Oh, man. Almost as many as Kingspawn. [00:59:43] Speaker A: I know. We were just talking about that last week. [00:59:45] Speaker B: If these. If these were our children, Johnny, they would be. Oh, geez. They would be in that very annoying, never run out of energy stage. [00:59:55] Speaker A: Terrible threes. [00:59:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:59:59] Speaker A: There'S a terrible twos and something else. Threes. [01:00:02] Speaker B: I mean, it's. It's. It's always terrible twos, but then people. Everybody's like, but the three threes aren't much better. But I don't think they have a nice little. They might have a nice little quippy thing for three. [01:00:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:00:15] Speaker B: I don't know, kids. Too much energy. Much like puppies. Jesus. Puppies have way too much energy. But right now, Johnny, they are a snoozing. And I would say that the puppies are snoozing very well. I would rate them good pups, which means nice. It's time to rate the puppies, Johnny. [01:00:39] Speaker A: It's time to rate the puppies. So first up today, yes. We had Gunslinger Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger. Gunslinger Colon. Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Colon Spawn. [01:00:55] Speaker B: Don't you mean colon Gunslinger Spawn, Cole and Gunslinger Spawn. [01:00:58] Speaker A: No, it's Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Number four. [01:01:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:02] Speaker A: Like we said, man, this is a really fun story. I love the circus, like, setting and, like the new characters. The art really fits it very well. I'm a big fan of Chad Harden. It's just like, got this, like, heightened reality to it. Like, cartoony. [01:01:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:21] Speaker A: But the violence is so insane. The blood is so red. And it's just a really fun western story. That's why I love this book so much. They've been really fun, interesting, you know, playing with tropes a Little bit western stories. [01:01:40] Speaker B: Yeah. That's the. [01:01:42] Speaker A: That's kind of what I always wanted from Gunslinger. [01:01:43] Speaker B: Yeah. That's the appeal of this book is. It's just. That's why it's. It's. It's so exciting to have somebody with all of these western bona fides being like, I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna to drop this hell guy into a western book, and you guys are going to love it. And guess what, Johnny? We fucking love it. [01:02:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:02:00] Speaker B: Although it's really fun, I was thinking earlier that this. This current arc of Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger gives us perhaps what would be a fun next Batman spawn crossover, where instead of doing Batman and Spawn, you know, Al Simmons and Bruce Wayne together, you could do secondary characters in this universe and have Robin and Tobias at the circus, since we know that Robin was a little circus boy himself. And that would be fun. That's probably never gonna happen. But Toddfather, if you're listening, I would read the shit out of a. A Nightwing Tobias crossover issue at a circus. Get. Get Chad Harden to draw, because this shit is awesome. [01:02:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:02:59] Speaker B: I'm excited to see, like, the. The circus proper because, you know. You know, he's gonna. He's gonna wake up. Tobias is gonna wake up tied up in the circus in the next. [01:03:08] Speaker A: Yeah. And it's gonna be mayhem in the circus. I can't wait. [01:03:10] Speaker B: It's gonna be so much. So much fun. [01:03:13] Speaker A: Can't wait for that issue. Yeah. I mean, what else is there to say? It's. [01:03:19] Speaker B: It's the most fun you're going to have at the comics for the next couple of months, probably. [01:03:24] Speaker A: Yeah. And I love the western setting. And just like, there's like a crazy wolfman and like, it's just. It's fun. I'm going to give it. On that note, I'm going to give it five exploding wolfman heads out of five. [01:03:40] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. [01:03:41] Speaker A: That's a. I just love that panel with how he's got his head shot off. [01:03:44] Speaker B: Like, it's. It's so perfectly designed, too, that if. If they don't make a sticker out of this that I can slap up randomly around town, I might have to take matters into my own hands. Yeah. [01:03:57] Speaker A: It looks like a punk band poster or something. [01:03:59] Speaker B: Yeah, it does. It's perfect like that. This. A sticker of. This belongs on the bottom of every skateboard in the country. [01:04:07] Speaker A: I agree. [01:04:08] Speaker B: Absolutely. It's. You're. You're right. It is the. It's so. It's just so good. It's the. The story is incredible. This art is. I love the Patrick Reynolds art because it lended a very sincere gravitas to everything that was happening. [01:04:27] Speaker A: It worked for the first art for sure. [01:04:29] Speaker B: And I like that. Now we're getting into a circus and circuses are inherently a little. And so we gotta, like, there's a hard pivot to. Let's. Let's be a little bit more ridiculous and shit. It delivers in spades, Johnny. I am also going to give it five. I am going to give it five. Be crash Ted. Be crash test dummied guys with no arms and no head because they got shot off. And you know what that means, Johnny. If we're both giving it five, it's. [01:05:06] Speaker A: The entrance to the Hellfire Club. [01:05:07] Speaker B: Hell yeah, it is. [01:05:10] Speaker A: Five out of five. Love this. Deadly Tales. [01:05:13] Speaker B: It's so good. So good. [01:05:15] Speaker A: And then we had Gunslinger 41, which was kind of like two sides of a coin, you might say. [01:05:23] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah. It's the. If, if, if we made a coin out of Deadly tales of the gunslinger and the gunslinger, it would be the gunslinger coin. And this is the. They're both on different sides. [01:05:33] Speaker A: Well, I'm saying two sides of a coin in itself because it starts with more of the one on one fights she's been doing for many issues. [01:05:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:40] Speaker A: But then finally, about halfway through, we get back to Wyatt and Linda and we get some good story stuff. So, you know, it's a. It's a double edged sword, I guess. There's nothing wrong with the fight with him and Godsend. It's just like. It's just kind of samey to what we've been seeing the last few issues. [01:05:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. But like if you. [01:05:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:05:59] Speaker B: This is probably really all the fight we needed between Javi and Godsend. [01:06:04] Speaker A: Yeah. It's just this part here, right? [01:06:05] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just this right here. But yeah, like, I mean, like I said, because it's like the Todd father, like he doesn't have to waste time anymore and like he just, he gets, he gets to it and it's. I like it when he can get to it and he's not like stalling for time. [01:06:21] Speaker A: Kylo Barberi still killing it. [01:06:23] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. He is this fucking the void with everybody just like zipping off in different directions is real fun to me. [01:06:31] Speaker A: Yeah, that was. I cracked up at that. It was just like, hey, look, there's Mandarin spawn. Oh my God. Yeah. I mean, it was fun. Yeah. A gradual return to form for Gunslinger after some kind of samey issues. [01:06:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:06:46] Speaker A: I'LL give it four Samus balls that capture Avi. [01:06:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Nice. Very good. Like the little orbs. It's like. It's like the little orb that Glinda the Good Witch goes around in. [01:06:58] Speaker A: Yes, exactly. [01:07:01] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, the Carlo Barberi art is awesome. I have a feeling that this panel is probably just because Carlo was like, I haven't drawn a car and how many issues. Guys, I need to draw a car. [01:07:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:07:13] Speaker B: And I'm here for it. And. Yeah, it's, it's, it's good father. Good Todd father. Shit. It's. It gets going and it. It just. It just goes. It just goes. I'm gonna give a Three and a half Boxes of dinosaurs found by the police. Talk about your paraphernalia box. It was probably also pushed underneath the bed. I hope my parents don't find my box with a dinosaur in it. [01:07:39] Speaker A: Hope they don't find it. [01:07:40] Speaker B: I'm just gonna name it David. Shit. That's nothing about that. [01:07:47] Speaker A: Nope. [01:07:48] Speaker B: Or school documents. That. There we go. That's better. Yeah, it was fun. It was fun. So a good time. It's a hootin. A hoot and a half. This, this. These two issues. [01:08:03] Speaker A: Well, you know else who likes gunslinger? It is a hoot and a half. [01:08:06] Speaker B: Who's that? [01:08:08] Speaker A: Our good friend. Friend of the pod. Tiny Spawny Tiny. AKA Mark Zovak. [01:08:14] Speaker B: Yes, indeed. [01:08:16] Speaker A: We got a letter. [01:08:17] Speaker B: Yeah. A direct response to a question that Johnny asked. So we gotta. [01:08:22] Speaker A: You know what that means. What is this segment even called? As long as we've had it later. [01:08:26] Speaker B: This is Respawning Regrounds, Johnny. [01:08:29] Speaker A: That's right. Respawning Regrounds. Play the. [01:08:32] Speaker B: So. [01:08:49] Speaker A: All right, so. Mailbag time. Let me pull this up here. [01:08:54] Speaker B: Oh, Jesus Christ. He reminds us of some upcoming titles. And I totally forgot about half of these were gonna happen. So much sponge, Johnny. [01:09:10] Speaker A: Mark writes Mount Rushmore is the title because I asked what is your Mount Rushmore of Spawn right now? [01:09:16] Speaker B: Yes, indeed. [01:09:17] Speaker A: Greetings, Johnny and David. As a card carrying member of the Spawn mutie, I must say I feel your question can be subjective. I say this because my current Rushmore is different than my all time Rushmore. That being said, I will give you both all time Rushmore Deadly Tales. The Gunslinger Gunslinger Spawn Kills Every Spawn Misery. Damn. All right. [01:09:37] Speaker B: It's pretty good. It's a pretty good group. [01:09:39] Speaker A: Current Russian War Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Gunslinger Spawn Main Title Black Ritual Book of Nyx. [01:09:49] Speaker B: Haven't started that one yet. But knowing that it's got the tiny spawny Seal of Approval makes me very excited. [01:09:56] Speaker A: Yeah. These lists could change because of the new titles we have coming. I read all the Spawn new titles. We have some really good sounding ones coming. We are getting Medieval Spawn, the Curse of Surly Johnson, Focus Spawn, 77, Bloodletter, and the Freak. [01:10:12] Speaker B: Dang. [01:10:13] Speaker A: I think we're also getting. She spawned her own book. [01:10:15] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:10:15] Speaker A: You've now piqued my curiosity. Do you guys have different Rushmores? Do you think any of the new titles might influence your lists? Let me know. Your pal, Tiny Spawny. [01:10:24] Speaker B: Hell yeah. I totally forgot the Focus book was even. Even ever gonna happen. [01:10:30] Speaker A: I know. I forgot. [01:10:31] Speaker B: I forgot that Focus existed. [01:10:33] Speaker A: So I think my Rush war was Deadly Tales, Rat City, Scorched, and King Spawn. New King Spawn with Raymond Conville taking over. I think that's what it was. [01:10:48] Speaker B: I think that's what it was. I don't remember what mine was at all, but Deadly Deadly Tales and Scorch definitely need to be on there. [01:10:57] Speaker A: Yeah. As far as all time, I guess that would be more my current, but because definitely for all time, King Spawn would definitely be on there. [01:11:05] Speaker B: Definitely. [01:11:07] Speaker A: Just because it was such a strong start. Even though it had a little bit of a lull there for a little bit. But it's back to it. [01:11:12] Speaker B: It's back, baby. [01:11:14] Speaker A: It's back. Deadly Tales. Instantly in love with. [01:11:20] Speaker B: Main title. [01:11:21] Speaker A: Scorched for sure. [01:11:22] Speaker B: Main title's been doing some good stuff. [01:11:25] Speaker A: Yeah. Rat City. I think it's the same almost for me as all time. Is this current? [01:11:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:11:30] Speaker A: Like I'm just so involved in the. [01:11:32] Speaker B: Current Spawn, I would say. Actually, I think. I think currently. So I. I can't keep the iterations in my mind. So whatever is my current Rushmore is going to be my all time until it changes. [01:11:46] Speaker A: Right. [01:11:46] Speaker B: So right now it's got to be Deadly Tales, Scorched, Rhett City, and that fucking Violator miniseries. The new one. That's. That's going to be an all timer miniseries for me. It was fantastic. [01:12:01] Speaker A: Sweet. [01:12:02] Speaker B: We need to get to talking about that one, Johnny. [01:12:04] Speaker A: Yeah, we sure do. [01:12:07] Speaker B: Oh, every time I turn around, there's another. You can't. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting new Spawn over here. Here, Johnny. [01:12:13] Speaker A: Hey, I'm loving it. I mean, baby, that's. [01:12:16] Speaker B: That's now going to be a new. There's going to be a new Spawn title called Swinging a Dead Cat. This is going to be new Spawns popping up all over the place. Still excited for that Curse of Shirley Johnson, even though I think no Home Here was a much better title. Bloodletter. Excited to see Tim Seeley. Probably doing hella vampires. [01:12:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:12:39] Speaker B: Because that's what it does. Spawn 77 is gonna be groovy as shit, man. Might give us a chance to talk to Mark Spears again, too. Yeah, Medieval Spawn has already come out, but I haven't started it yet. But it is a Rory McConville, so I have no doubt that it's gonna be incredible. The Freak. The Freak might be a harder book to get into because, man, the Freak's just so weird. [01:13:04] Speaker A: Such a weird, freaky guy. [01:13:07] Speaker B: I think the Freak works better as a member of an ensemble than a leading man, but I guess we'll find out. [01:13:14] Speaker A: Kind of like Jack Sparrow. [01:13:15] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And focus. I mean, I fucking love the Flash, so. Yeah, sure. Give me a Hell themed Flash. Let's do it. [01:13:26] Speaker A: Why not? [01:13:28] Speaker B: Hope he's more Wally west than Barry Allen. [01:13:31] Speaker A: Yeah. Thank you so much for writing in, Mark. [01:13:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Thank you very much. [01:13:33] Speaker A: Giving you some insight into our mount Russian Wars. [01:13:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:13:36] Speaker A: And if you want your letter read on air. [01:13:39] Speaker B: Yes, indeed. [01:13:40] Speaker A: You can hit us up@. Regarding swampodmail.com and each week I like to ask a question so we can get answers like Mark's. Yes, I want to ask, what do you think of the new art style in Deadly Tales by Chad Harden? Were you a fan? Do you. Were you kind of like miff that it changed? I mean, we're obviously both fans. I'm just curious for some people who are like, oh, I miss the other art, but it's definitely a different tone and for a different story. Maybe they'll do a different artist for every little arc. Who knows? Maybe. [01:14:11] Speaker B: I assume so. And I assume it'll probably depending on the gravitas of the particular art, because I would not be upset to see another. Another serious western artist come in after this nice little circus bit where it just like slams into another. Another serious mode. I'd be fine with that. [01:14:33] Speaker A: I'd be down. [01:14:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:35] Speaker A: Let us know. [01:14:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:36] Speaker A: And we'll read it on air. If you send us your address, we'll send you some stickers. [01:14:39] Speaker B: Hell yeah. And as long as you don't tell us not to read it, we will read it on air. And respawning regrounds. [01:14:47] Speaker A: Hell yeah. [01:14:48] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [01:14:48] Speaker A: This segment was. [01:14:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. [01:14:51] Speaker A: We did it. We did a segment. [01:14:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:53] Speaker A: If you want to reach out to us and don't want to use email, you can always hit us up at. Regarding Spawn pod at Instagram. Yes, at. Regarding Spawnpod on Instagram. [01:15:02] Speaker B: Rather, yes. [01:15:04] Speaker A: Come over there and join the fun. [01:15:06] Speaker B: Yeah. Say. Say a couple of things at us. And while you're over there on Instagram, check out, check out one of our friends because, you know, we love, love being part of a community as. As tiny Spawny says, the Spawnmunity. And we love, we love all the Spawnverts in the Spawn community, Johnny. [01:15:23] Speaker A: We sure do. But today we wanted to highlight Create my comic. If you aren't following them, make sure to give them a follow. They're the ones that won the McFarlane Discord feature. [01:15:35] Speaker B: Yeah, they have a large number of Spawn themed posts. They've got a really good one with Disruptor. It's. It's Disruptor looking through a hole that he just blew through Al Simmons's chest. It's absolutely incredible. He's also got. He's also got, you know, he's got some Batman. You know, good old Batman. He's got a Gorn for all the Star Trek folk out there. [01:16:06] Speaker A: Oh, hell yeah. He plays fucking Star Wars Unlimited. [01:16:09] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [01:16:11] Speaker A: I love that game. [01:16:14] Speaker B: He's got a Boba Fett there. He's got a scorpion and a Sub Zero and a jade. Yeah, it's some good shit. Follow him. Christian Forrest. Yeah, yeah, don't forget to Google Lonnie Bones music. That's Lonnie with a Y. He does our music and it is awesome. [01:16:38] Speaker A: Yeah. Also, don't forget to rate, review and subscribe while you're out there on the Internet. [01:16:41] Speaker B: Yes, yes. [01:16:42] Speaker A: Tell your friends and family. Let them know about us. Hope you enjoyed the Star wars day. And our guest, Rob Dewanes. You haven't listened to those. Make sure to go back and check them out. [01:16:51] Speaker B: Yeah, Rob's always. It's so much fun to talk to Rob. [01:16:55] Speaker A: He always brings so much information. Great episode. If you're looking for some behind the scenes on Spawn kills every spawn. [01:17:02] Speaker B: He. He defines color flats for us so that way we don't have to be like, what's a color flat? What's a separator? [01:17:09] Speaker A: You don't know. [01:17:10] Speaker B: Yeah. So you got to go to the source. The source is Rob Sketchcraft Duaneous. Well, Johnny, speaking about going to the source, our podcast is entirely dependent upon source material, so we should probably fill ourselves with some more original Spawn content. So that way we can then talk about it on the Internet. [01:17:36] Speaker A: Yes, we should. And you may have noticed we weren't covering Rat City for a bit. We kind of held off. We were trying to get a guest back for it for a certain issue. It hasn't worked out, but. So we're going to continue on with Rat City, and our pairing with that, of course, is Sam and Twitch Case Files. So we'll be doing rat city number nine and salmon twitch case files number nine. [01:17:58] Speaker B: Hell yeah. Two nines. 99. [01:18:01] Speaker A: Great year. [01:18:03] Speaker B: The end of all time. The world probably should have ended, Johnny. [01:18:07] Speaker A: Great year of cinema. [01:18:08] Speaker B: Yeah. Fantastic year of cinema. [01:18:11] Speaker A: Yeah. The last movie I would have seen in theaters probably would've been like, Toy Story 2, because that came out in 99. So, like, that would have been a good way to go out. [01:18:18] Speaker B: That would have been a great way to go out. [01:18:20] Speaker A: I probably saw something in theaters after that, that year, but I think it was a November release. [01:18:25] Speaker B: It was so long ago, I don't remember. [01:18:28] Speaker A: You don't remember when and where you saw Toy Story 2, David? [01:18:31] Speaker B: I remember exactly when and where I saw Toy Story 2. It was a movie day in my geography class in seventh grade. [01:18:39] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [01:18:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Ms. Walker. Ms. Walker, who made us learn a quote every week as the password to get into class on Friday. And there was this one time where one of my classmates just gave her a little Miss Swan. She asked him what the password was, and he said, you look like a man. And she got so upset that she canceled class and spent the entire hour yelling at him. [01:19:06] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [01:19:07] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah, she did not like the Ms. Swan at all. [01:19:13] Speaker A: Who's Ms. Swan? [01:19:14] Speaker B: Ms. Swan from MADtv. [01:19:16] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [01:19:16] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. Who just says he looks. He look. He look like a man. [01:19:22] Speaker A: Oh, my God. That's funny. [01:19:26] Speaker B: Yeah. But yeah, so it was. It was during. For one of those movie days in. In geography class that I watched Toy Story 2 for the first time. [01:19:34] Speaker A: Okay. I saw it at Hollywood theaters in Tulsa on the day before Thanksgiving. [01:19:40] Speaker B: Oh, hell yeah. Not too bad. [01:19:43] Speaker A: Pretty cool. [01:19:43] Speaker B: Not too bad at all. Well. Well, we got books to read for next week, Johnny. That's exciting. We got people out there in the Spawnmunity who are finding friends, finding each other, sending us questions, sending us answers to questions that you've asked. I think, you know, I done rootin tooted myself to having nothing to say, Johnny. So with that, I have nothing else to say but metaskorch be with you. [01:20:17] Speaker A: And also with you, David. [01:20:18] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [01:20:20] Speaker A: Hell yeah. [01:20:21] Speaker B: It feels. It feels weird to be doing a concentrated amount of cowboy and not having Logan on or doing a concentrated amount of gunslinger and not having tiny Spunny on. I feel this is a missed opportunity. [01:20:33] Speaker A: David. The greatest enemy of any podcast is scheduling gas. [01:20:38] Speaker B: I thought you were gonna say was my co host. [01:20:41] Speaker A: No scheduling. Scheduling is the true demon. [01:20:44] Speaker B: Oh, man. It doesn't help that we have like polar opposite schedules, just in general. We're constantly two ships passing in the night literally. And usually it's drunkenly texting about Spawn. So. [01:20:59] Speaker A: Not always. [01:21:00] Speaker B: Yeah. Star wars is up there a lot now this. I guess this has replaced our drunken. [01:21:06] Speaker A: Hey, speak for yourself. I'm not. I'm. I don't drink when I talk about Spawn. Not after that one episode. [01:21:12] Speaker B: Not after that. That. That. That. Regarding Spawn nights. [01:21:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Where I was a little. [01:21:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I. I know. I know myself too well that I will just like shut down and just be like yeah. What? Yeah. [01:21:28] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:21:29] Speaker B: Actually maybe I should do that more often than. Than people wouldn't have to listen to me talk the whole time. [01:21:34] Speaker A: No, it just be both of us saying yeah. That's all I say is yeah. So just going yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hell yeah. [01:21:59] Speaker B: Sa.
