The Malbolge is fine, why dontcha come on in for a spell?

This week, the boys discuss another couple entries from Spawn's Universe: Spawn 306 and Scorched 17! One's a bit of a stinker and the other is certified fresh, in the boys' opinion: why not take bets on which you think is which!

Johnny takes us boldly into another edition of Todd's Toy Talk! David is wrong about something (gasp!)! No Diablo IV is played for the entirety of the record (against all odds!)!

We like y'all, y'know? And, we 'd like you to like one of the people we like, too! Jordan Noir is cookin' up some good good art work, and y'all should see it! (www.instagram.com/maximum.noir/)

Speaking of cookin': when Bryain ain't cookin' up a big burrito (which Johnny to to try!), he's whippin' up some mean tunes for us! Give him the 'prciation he deserves! (www.instagram.com/bryan_voyles_27/)

We're over there, too, sharin' what we can! (www.instagram.com/regardingspawnpod)

May the Scorched be with you!

[00:00:00] Speaker A: She rushes forward with a confidence few of us will ever understand. And what may seem to be impulsive decisions is actually her fearlessness. A trait so natural to her, she can't remember a day she didn't have it. Because it's been there since the day she came from her mother's womb. Good evening, and welcome to the Malbolge. This is regarding Spawn, the world's best spawn podcast. I'm your co host, John Fisher. [00:00:57] Speaker B: And I'm your co host, David Williams. And I gotta apologize right off the top here, Johnny. If I go for it, end up coughing or having a weird, smoky voice. The news has been telling me for the past couple of days. I've been inhaling the equivalent of a half to a whole pack of cigarettes all day. So the world is on fire, and we got the smoke in Chicago. [00:01:25] Speaker A: Well, if you think about it, though, this is canadian smoke. Canadian trees. Spawn's a canadian comic, so, like, the most purest spawn would be made out of canadian paper. So you're basically inhaling spawn. [00:01:40] Speaker B: So our spawn is in danger. [00:01:42] Speaker A: Our spawn is not in danger. [00:01:43] Speaker B: Well, a little bit, but just the pure. [00:01:45] Speaker A: You've been inhaling the purest version of Spawn that you possibly can. [00:01:50] Speaker B: The purest version of scorched Spawn. [00:01:55] Speaker A: Scorched. Yeah, it's definitely scorched. It felt like I was texting you that. It felt like the scorcher out there battling earth. And it was so smoky in Chicago with all that canadian wildfire stuff going on. It was wild. [00:02:09] Speaker B: If you ever just randomly lick your lips, it's like, why do my lips taste like bad barbecue? Oh, yeah, that's right. Everything is on fire. It's very weird. Somebody took a drone downtown a couple of days ago during the super smoky day, and it was a pretty cool video that I saw. [00:02:33] Speaker A: That's awesome. [00:02:33] Speaker B: I'm surprised they didn't get arrested, because I think that shit's super illegal. They get very particular about drones in major cities. [00:02:43] Speaker A: Yeah. I actually had to help our friend Brian move that day, so I inhaled a lot of man. [00:02:50] Speaker B: Oh, that. I was actually thinking about that. I was sitting at work. I was like, man, Johnny picked the worst day to help somebody move. [00:02:59] Speaker A: Hey, but I got one of those burritos. [00:03:00] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. You got to tell us about it. I've been talking these burritos up in the shout out section. [00:03:06] Speaker A: It was delicious. Garcia's burrito is huge. I got a veggie burrito. Add cheese and avocado. It was great. It was giant. It had the best, like, this neon green kind of creamy looking sauce salsa you can put on it. [00:03:21] Speaker B: I think. Great. [00:03:22] Speaker A: Gave me the energy to help move all Brian's weights. [00:03:25] Speaker B: He's got so much gym equipment. [00:03:28] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. [00:03:29] Speaker B: If you're in the store looking at the salsas, the creamy green salsa is usually referred to as guacamole style. It doesn't have any avocado in it, but they call it guacamole style. Okay. [00:03:42] Speaker A: Because I like that. It was good. [00:03:43] Speaker B: There's a company in town that makes stuff just exclusively for the grocery stores, and it's got, like, the hottest salsa I've ever been able to purchase from a grocery store, and it's great. AZ Foods, if you're listening, or in Chicago, they got good shit. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Az foods. Well, we've got some good shit for you guys today, because we got two issues straight out of Spawn's universe for you. A classic. It stretches the name of the word classic. [00:04:12] Speaker B: I don't know. There have been some classics that, like, true classics that are about this level. [00:04:19] Speaker A: We're also spoiled. We've been reading this new. All the new stuff, which has been really firing all cylinders. So we're a little spoiled here. That is a short way of saying the first issue is Spawn 306, the first appearance of raptor. Maybe that's why I was so sour on it, because it was like, all I heard was, oh, it's the first appearance of Raptor and all this stuff. And I knew it was, like, kind of a valuable, hard to find issue. And then I was like, yeah, I don't know. [00:04:48] Speaker B: We could dissect that when we get there. [00:04:50] Speaker A: We'll get to it. And then the second. And that is all the way back on the far off land of, I believe, February 2020. Or maybe it's march. Let's see. March 2020. [00:05:00] Speaker B: Oh, boy. Imagine. Imagine being locked in your house. The NBA just shut down, leading to the actual beginning of people thinking Covid is wrong, and you're like, man, I can't wait to get home and hole up inside there for months with this good, good issue of spawn. And then it's number three, six. [00:05:22] Speaker A: I mean, it's aptly titled property of Death. So I guess that's good for March 2020. [00:05:28] Speaker B: The toddfather does have his finger on the pulse if nothing else. [00:05:33] Speaker A: Sure does. And our second issue up today is a much better. Speaking of firing on all cylinders, much better. Awesome issue. Scorch number 17 from April 2023. So just a couple of months. Speaking of scorch stuff, speaking of breathing. [00:05:50] Speaker B: In scorch I can only imagine that outside is what it looks like after the scorch took on those crap. I just keep thinking of the sentinels. But they weren't sentinels. Cinder vauwers. That's totally what it looked like after they fought or after Omega island, or after Javi shot the dirt to make one of the wolves look like him. So that way he could. [00:06:22] Speaker A: Or after. I don't know. I imagine they go to the grocery store and this shit happens to them. Do you think they send mark to get food? [00:06:31] Speaker B: Well, they can't send Mark to get food because he can't get out of that house in the middle of nowhere. [00:06:36] Speaker A: They probably just order it. Maybe he just, like, drones it in. They don't really address the eating. [00:06:41] Speaker B: Besides the earthworms of spot, what they probably do. Johnny, here's a little bit of what I think happens is they wait until the grocery store is closed so they have to choose a non 24 hours place so they ain't shopping at Walmart or nothing. And then they just shadow blast in in the middle of the night. [00:07:00] Speaker A: And just grab all the. [00:07:05] Speaker B: Have, like, a whole bunch of funions and flamin'hot. Cheetos. Definitely. [00:07:09] Speaker A: Flamin'hot. Cheetos for the mean. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Come on. Yeah, definitely. I mean, they got. [00:07:12] Speaker A: I imagine Taylor introduced Javi to flamin'hot cheetos, and he's like, what are these? I heard something one time that if, like, a pioneer or, like, a pilgrim person had a Dorito, they would die. Do you think that's true science man? [00:07:28] Speaker B: I don't know. I don't think so. [00:07:31] Speaker A: Probably make them sick. [00:07:33] Speaker B: Probably be very unpleasant for them, but they probably had pretty ludicrously high tolerances for bad things because they used to have to eat, like, rotten meat on the regular. I can only imagine how bad that screws you up. [00:07:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't know. I don't eat a lot of rotten meat. [00:07:57] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't know if you've ever eaten any rotten meat. Email about your to regarding [email protected]. [00:08:06] Speaker A: Yeah, if you've got some maggots in it, like spawn would like. [00:08:11] Speaker B: Spawn would actually. He would like the dirt cup we used to get as children, only with real worms instead of the gummy worms. [00:08:20] Speaker A: Exactly. I love a dirt cup. Speaking of spawn, he's barely in this issue that we're covering first up, so that's great. Makes me miss all those earthworm, you know. That's not to knock. There's some good covers here. And, David, you're going to kill me. [00:08:38] Speaker B: Did you just spill something on something? [00:08:41] Speaker A: No, I didn't spill nothing on nothing. But remember, I thought I didn't have this issue, and you got me a copy off eBay. I did have this issue. I thought I didn't have it, but I did. [00:08:57] Speaker B: Well, now you have. Was it the same cover, too? Because that would be a little. [00:09:01] Speaker A: No, it's a different cover. [00:09:02] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. Hell yeah. Awesome. [00:09:04] Speaker A: So I owe you a copy of Spawn 306. [00:09:08] Speaker B: Keep it. [00:09:10] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. David was really kind, so I bought all these spawns off of eBay. And basically, to fill in, like, 290. There was two lots, I think, from the same guy. It was awesome. Like, he was obviously just dumping his collection from that time. But it was a great deal for me. And I got, like, 296 through, like, 330 or something. And there was a 306 in there. I thought there wasn't. There was David, who, when I was complaining about that I didn't have 306. He got me one off eBay, and now I have two. But one of them is. They're different covers. Thank you. [00:09:47] Speaker B: It was too good of a deal to pass up. Because you say it goes for, like, 40, is what you said. Yeah, I got this thing for, like, $15, dude. [00:09:55] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a great deal. [00:09:56] Speaker B: Yeah, it was a great deal. It was a great deal. [00:09:59] Speaker A: This one is a really interesting. It's nice to highlight these when they're interesting. Because the price on this one. This one is a key issue. Because it's raptors first appearance. Everyone thought this is going to be some big mean. Obviously, by where we are now. I don't think he was that big a deal. Yeah, because he's not around. [00:10:19] Speaker B: My prediction, Johnny is. He gets Covid. [00:10:23] Speaker A: So we'll go through the covers like we normally do. I just want to say the price on some of these, because they're insane. So there's four covers for this. Okay, we got the a cover. The ones I have. I have the first up, the COVID b, the matina. If you see that one, it's like spawn reaching up into the sky. But it's like he's a statue. He's like the Statue of Liberty. He's giant, and he's, like, next to a city, and he's being built or decaying. Are you seeing this one? [00:10:59] Speaker B: No, that one is not in this trade paperback that I have. Johnny. [00:11:04] Speaker A: Nice. It's awesome. But it's just like this really cool matina. It's just like Spawn is the Statue of Liberty, and that's the one I got in the bundle that I bought off eBay. Then I got another one here. The one you got me, a 306, is the version cover of COVID c, which is the virgin tan, and McFarland, which is, like, the version version of the COVID it's got spawn and raptor there. Spawn looks great. Tan. I really like his art. [00:11:39] Speaker B: Tan really does do good art. [00:11:43] Speaker A: I guess it's Tan McFarland. So I don't know who did what. I guess maybe it says in. Oh, so Tom McFarland did another one. So those are the two covers I have. The A cover is just that version cover that I have, but with, like, the spawn text. And it says, like, prophecy of death and everything. [00:11:59] Speaker B: With trade dressing, as they call it. [00:12:01] Speaker A: Yes. And then the D cover is by McFarland. It's just a close up of Javi smoking a cigarette. [00:12:08] Speaker B: Yeah, I've got that one on the back of this trade paperback, and it's pretty great. It's not as great as the 305 medieval close up, but it's very good. [00:12:20] Speaker A: So according to cover price, the Javi one is worth $114. Just wait, David. The A cover is worth about 40. [00:12:32] Speaker B: Okay. [00:12:34] Speaker A: The B matina that I have goes for about 29. [00:12:38] Speaker B: Okay. [00:12:39] Speaker A: The one you got me is about 36. Now it was 40, but now it's 36. [00:12:44] Speaker B: All right. [00:12:45] Speaker A: Then there's a final combat cover that is a picture of spawn from Mortal Kombat, just from the game. Average price, $1,500. And it has, like, a diamond next to it because it's, like, super rare. But I guess this was, like, a super rare one. I saw someone got it on Instagram not too long ago, and they're like, I can't believe I finally got this. But unslabbed, it goes for, like, $5,000. October 2022. Sold for spawn. [00:13:24] Speaker B: But, man, Johnny, I'm just going to come out and say it. That's even more ridiculous than paying $3 million for Mark McGuire's 70th home run ball. [00:13:38] Speaker A: One might say it is because it's a paper. Yeah. [00:13:43] Speaker B: And even though Mark McGuire's legacy is tainted by steroid use, it's still something that's more fun to reflect on than issue 306. [00:13:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. That's the thing. It's like, it's all these things that are worth so much for such a kind of a crappy issue. But I'm curious for the story behind that combat one, that mortal Kombat, that's. [00:14:07] Speaker B: Worth a. I've broached the topic. There was an old TMZ article that I shared with you about. They talked to Todd McFarlane about the $3 million he paid for the baseball. And he was like, even if it was a bad decision, it was excellent. He's like, I've gotten so many opportunities because people are like, I just want to see that ball. He's like, I'd never sell it, ever. That's shit. What? [00:14:40] Speaker A: That's why it's worth so much. This is crazy. [00:14:43] Speaker B: Okay, what happened? [00:14:46] Speaker A: So it's the variant nether realms Mortal Kombat DLC game edition. It was intended for distribution of the 2020 final combat live gaming competition in Chicago. [00:14:54] Speaker B: Oh, jeez. [00:14:55] Speaker A: Which was canceled due to the Covid-19 lockdowns. [00:14:59] Speaker B: Damn. [00:15:00] Speaker A: There's a concern that someone's holding these issues back to establish a scarcity perception and elevated price point because no one knows much about them. Oh, and then there's a quote. God, this is crazy. Okay. This is great. We're doing a good job. So there's a quote from Thomas Healy. [00:15:17] Speaker B: Okay. [00:15:18] Speaker A: There was a small event to begin with. Only a couple of under issues were produced, and it was canceled to public, but was held in private for players. There are less than 50 copies distributed by the event to the players in their plus one. All the others. That and free Schwag was trashed due to the cost of shipping it back to the mortal Kombat offices. So you say there's probably 50 copies exist in the wild. I hope that helps, man. [00:15:41] Speaker B: Johnny, how awesome would it have been if we were in the position we are now at the beginning of COVID and that they were like, we're just going to trash this? Be like, could I just come swing by the convention center real quick and peek in that trash can? That's crazy. [00:15:55] Speaker A: So that's why it's worth so much. Interesting. [00:15:58] Speaker B: That story is awesome. That story is better than the story. [00:16:03] Speaker A: In the book, and it ties into all the COVID I know, man. We're really. There's a rendition on this one. [00:16:09] Speaker B: I'm going to laugh when, as we go through it, we end up liking it more than we think we do. I don't. [00:16:17] Speaker A: Know. Those are the covers. The complex history of the covers with that mortal Kombat variant. So now if you didn't know it was Madeford event, Chicago was canceled, and there's like, maybe 100 were made, maybe 50 were given out, and maybe 50 more exist and they might have been thrown away. [00:16:34] Speaker B: Nice. I'd like to. [00:16:35] Speaker A: They don't really know who's selling them or where they're coming from. Some people have reached out to players directly. Evidently. It says, wow. [00:16:42] Speaker B: I would like to think that there's a custodian from the convention center just sitting on a pile of these, being like, they're worth how much now? They're worth how much now I'm retired. I could see them walking with a stack of comic books, going into a bank downtown, and being like, I need a safety deposit box, sir. [00:17:02] Speaker A: Thank you very much. So those are the covers. You got the McFarlane, the matina, the tan, and the mortal Kombat. That is very rare. [00:17:14] Speaker B: Nice. [00:17:16] Speaker A: Going through the rest of the credits, we got script by Tom McFarlane and Philip Tan. Whole bunch of inks? [00:17:24] Speaker B: Whole bunch of them. [00:17:25] Speaker A: There are four people on inks. [00:17:27] Speaker B: Geez. [00:17:28] Speaker A: Philip Tan, Jonathan Glapion, Daniel Henriks, and Tod McFarland. I don't know if that means for covers or for everything or what. [00:17:38] Speaker B: No, that usually would mean for interiors. I got a bone to pick with that. Johnny. [00:17:45] Speaker A: What? [00:17:46] Speaker B: Johnny Thinklapian isn't listed as an artist for anything in the credits of the trade paperback that this particular issue appears. [00:17:59] Speaker A: Good. [00:17:59] Speaker B: That's. No. Oh, no, no. Okay. [00:18:01] Speaker A: We're just discovering all these spawn secrets this week. Spawn secrets? [00:18:05] Speaker B: I'm just dumb. It does say here at the very bottom. Additional inks. Jonathan Glass. [00:18:10] Speaker A: Oh, gotcha. Thomas Ealy. Got one up on. [00:18:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:13] Speaker A: You gotta wake up pretty early in the morning to get one on Thomas Healy. [00:18:16] Speaker B: I guess I owe him a hams and a shot, don't I? [00:18:19] Speaker A: Yeah. We said next time he's in Chicago. [00:18:21] Speaker B: Thomas Healy, come hit us up. I owe you a boilermaker. [00:18:24] Speaker A: Chicago handshake. We've got plot by Philip Tan and Tom McFarland. So they do the script and the plot. Wow. Lettering by Tom O. Tom Orzachowski. [00:18:37] Speaker B: That dude's just cranking it out. [00:18:40] Speaker A: Colors by Sonny Goh and J. David Ramos. We already went over the covers. Creative director Tod McFarlane and John Goff, editor in chief. And then down in the little corner, we have our publishing coordinator, Thomas Healy. The little publishing coordinator that could. That eventually became editor in chief. Hell, yeah. [00:19:00] Speaker B: He thinks he can, Johnny. [00:19:03] Speaker A: And he did. He did. He became the editor in, so. Oh, David, we got another long a. It's like an inch long. [00:19:14] Speaker B: Oh, man. Take a little break if you need to, to get into it. [00:19:17] Speaker A: I might take a sip here. All right. Wet my whistle a little bit. Previously in Spawn. Spawn and she spawn race to save Eddie from the dangers that hunt him in the aftermath of a violent mass shooting. Arriving in a once quiet North Dakota town, the duo find themselves confronted by a pair of vengeful heavenly soldiers in human disguise. Worse, a secretive cabal inside the Vatican has dispatched medieval spawn to capture or kill Eddie. As she, Spawn fights to protect Eddie, spawn faces off against the armored medieval spawn, killing the hulking knight before a strange new threat emerges in a cliffhanger ending that continues now. That's kind of cool. I like how he says that. Continues now. [00:20:08] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know if you remember us talking about it, but the cliffhanger was kind of forced, so it's not like. [00:20:18] Speaker A: Yeah, it was just like, whoa, some goops coming out of his head. [00:20:22] Speaker B: It was very, what, end of issue seven or no, end of issue nine, where he just, like, disappears from the alley, and Coliostra's just like, I'm going to keep on trucking over here. Going to take the strawberry ripple. Get out of here. [00:20:39] Speaker A: Waddle away. [00:20:41] Speaker B: That's back when Coliostra was cool, y'all, man, coliostro, you used to be cool. What happened to you, man? [00:20:49] Speaker A: I don't know. I guess we never should have trusted. [00:20:51] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't know. He was just so jovial and nice and what he knew what Al was going through without Al telling him anything. How could you not trust him for? Look at that face. He used to have a good face. [00:21:05] Speaker A: Yeah. He was like his Obi Wan Kenobi in the movie. Well, so continuing now, as it says, spawn's getting sucked into that goop. Yeah, and it has a asterisk, but mine has an asterisk with nothing to asterisks too. [00:21:20] Speaker B: Mine also has an asterisk with nothing to asterisk too. [00:21:24] Speaker A: I'm assuming they meant to say last issue. [00:21:27] Speaker B: Yeah, probably. And this issue does end as a lot of classic issues of Spawn did with Al asking questions. [00:21:35] Speaker A: What's happening? [00:21:37] Speaker B: Jessica and Reaper are there trying to keep him from falling into this big blood portal. [00:21:43] Speaker A: Big old thing of goop. [00:21:45] Speaker B: I do like shocked. She, Spawn, and Reaper now wonder what the hell they're going to do next. [00:21:52] Speaker A: I love this next page, too. The black like sponge getting sucked in is awesome. [00:21:58] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. It's like he's falling, but then he's like, wait, I'm not falling. No, wait, I am falling. Wait, am I falling? It's very nice. Yeah, it's very disconcerting not having anything around you to tell whether you're moving or not. And Philip hand gets that sort of sensation across very well here. It's wild. [00:22:25] Speaker A: And he hears this voice in his head telling him all this stuff about resisting. You've gone through too much. Not after all these years. He's hearing all these voices. Did you realize he's hearing it as this new. [00:22:38] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. It's hard to tell whether it's like a direct plea from one person. [00:22:45] Speaker A: Well, it's hard if it's like a transition, like talking to Al, or if he's hearing someone pleading to raptor. [00:22:51] Speaker B: Yeah, a lot of questions in this. Then the same word echoes across a time barrier, Johnny. So that's supposed to be our little linking, and we're in earth of the future, and there's this dude. Yeah, we got raptor. He's doing his best nightwing impression for his first appearance. [00:23:13] Speaker A: Okay. He's showing his butt. [00:23:15] Speaker B: Yeah. Giving us a good look at those hams. [00:23:19] Speaker A: But first, then he says, I'm not Al, or, wait, no, I'm Raptor, on your left. [00:23:27] Speaker B: So it's like the portal was basically putting Al in a virtual reality mask. And so now his consciousness is woken up in this body or something. [00:23:37] Speaker A: Yeah, basically is what happened. It's like their consciousness were melded for a second while he was joining, and that's why Raptor got a little confused. [00:23:45] Speaker B: It's like Spawn said, my mind to your mind, my thoughts to your thoughts. [00:23:52] Speaker A: Here's my favorite part of the issue, is that we cut to raptor, and he's fighting this giant kaiju guy. [00:23:57] Speaker B: Yeah, this giant kaiju guy is great. He honestly looks like a diablo villain, Johnny. [00:24:02] Speaker A: Yeah, he does. He really does. [00:24:04] Speaker B: Either that, or he looks like if there were a science fiction version of the Lord of the Rings where Sauron was able to put his eye on, like, a mobile body so he wasn't tied to the tower in Mordor. [00:24:19] Speaker A: And there's this whole anime scene with, like, a female companion yelling help to him, like, yelling advice. It's very anime. [00:24:29] Speaker B: Yeah. She's somehow not crushed under the massive amounts of rubble being strewn about absolutely everywhere. [00:24:38] Speaker A: I just love that panel where he throws him. You see the scale of the creature in the city? I really like that a lot. Reminds me of, like, pacific Rim or attack on Titan. [00:24:48] Speaker B: Yeah. Apparently, this creature, this big kaiju, is the legion of a thousand angels. Johnny. Of course that's its name. [00:24:57] Speaker A: You didn't know that? [00:24:58] Speaker B: Well, not until I read what it was. [00:25:01] Speaker A: Oh, he's the legion of a thousand angels. Yeah, I know him. Everyone knows that guy. [00:25:06] Speaker B: Yeah, there's been, like, 40 movies about him. How could you not know? [00:25:09] Speaker A: Sorry, David. You mentioned Diablo. I got to go. [00:25:14] Speaker B: Well, since this guy is obviously an established Kaiju. Pluto TV is about to put out a free channel with nothing but his movies on it. [00:25:22] Speaker A: I can't wait that they're doing that. Pluto TV is doing a Godzilla channel. It should be out by the time this episode's out. [00:25:27] Speaker B: Man, it's going to be crazy. So much Godzilla action. [00:25:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I saw a list, all the stuff they have access to. It's a lot. I love Godzilla movies. [00:25:35] Speaker B: There's so many Godzilla movies. It's wild. Like, you think. There's a lot of James Bond movies. Hold your horses for a second, dude. [00:25:43] Speaker A: Let's do James Bond versus Godzilla. [00:25:45] Speaker B: Oh, I'd take Godzilla every day. I'd take Godzilla over King Kong. So Godzilla over James Bond, no contest. [00:25:54] Speaker A: Yeah, I would. Don't Godzilla like, in a fight or which? I prefer both. In a fight. Godzilla. There's no way James Bond. [00:26:07] Speaker B: There's no way that James Bond could sweet talk his way into sleeping with Godzilla. [00:26:13] Speaker A: And she was a mom in the Matthew Broderick one. [00:26:16] Speaker B: I'd like to think that Godzilla has different tastes than very oiled up british. [00:26:25] Speaker A: Spy, the syphilis, adult James Bond. [00:26:30] Speaker B: Although that Daniel Craig might be a weakness. Daniel Craig, good James Bond. Hot take. Yeah. [00:26:41] Speaker A: That last movie was really good. Did you see it? [00:26:44] Speaker B: I know, I haven't seen it. [00:26:46] Speaker A: You haven't seen it? [00:26:47] Speaker B: The last new James Bond movie I saw was Casino Royale. [00:26:52] Speaker A: Okay. He's great in that, but you should see no time to die. [00:26:55] Speaker B: Yeah, I probably should. [00:26:57] Speaker A: It's great. [00:26:58] Speaker B: It's just so much easier to get a hold of the older ones and, yeah, they just don't do it for me like they did as a kid. [00:27:07] Speaker A: I liked them as a kid. I liked Roger Moore. I liked Pierce Rosa one still. I like Timothy Dalton. I guess I like them every. I like James Bond. [00:27:18] Speaker B: It sounds to me like you are a. I am. [00:27:22] Speaker A: I am. I am a James Bond fan. I would say I am. Speaking of James Bond, they got the rip off of James Bond, Indiana Jones five, because, you know, that's how Indiana Jones started is Steve super was like, I really want to do a Bond movie. And George was like, I got something better than Bond. [00:27:41] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I didn't know it was James Bond related. I did know that George Lucas wanted to do something like one of the adventure serials. He grew up. [00:27:49] Speaker A: So, yeah, he was like, I got James Bond. You don't need your James Bond. We got our own James Bond. And that was, and, you know, it almost. He could have gone the way of James Bond, where you just recast have. [00:28:01] Speaker B: It could, but it didn't. [00:28:04] Speaker A: Too iconic, I guess. I would have see that on Tuesday or Wednesday. I would have seen Indiana Jones five. It's like going to a fucking funeral. Can't wait for all the cg faces to drive me insane. [00:28:16] Speaker B: Yeah, I can't wait to see the text you send after. [00:28:21] Speaker A: I'll let you know. [00:28:22] Speaker B: It can't be as bad as Crystal skull. [00:28:28] Speaker A: The first half of Crystal skull is. Okay. Hot take. That's a real hot take. [00:28:33] Speaker B: Yeah. My favorite thing from Crystal Skull total is them saying they have us seeing communists in our soup. Which makes me laugh because he's probably referring to tomato soup, which is red. [00:28:48] Speaker A: It's red. My favorite line in Crystal skull is when Shiloh's walking around his apartment and he goes, what are you, like, 80? David? Really avoiding talking about this issue. [00:29:03] Speaker B: I couldn't tell. I couldn't tell. [00:29:05] Speaker A: I don't know. So, like, they're crashing around with this. [00:29:08] Speaker B: Heaven guy, then he's losing himself to the madness. Johnny. [00:29:14] Speaker A: I don't understand how their powers work. She somehow is, like, boosting him or something. [00:29:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Raptor disappears for some reason, and she's abandoned. And then the. What's his name again? Legion of a thousand angels is just towering over her. [00:29:31] Speaker A: And then she can hear his voice. Her name's Claudia's, by the way, which is a hilarious name. Yeah, Claudia with a z. [00:29:39] Speaker B: And then while Raptor is being confused about whether he's raptor or out, Claudia's is now being confused about whether she's Claudia's or Wanda. What are you saying? Who's Wanda? [00:29:54] Speaker A: Who's this Wanda you're talking about? [00:29:58] Speaker B: And all of this is happening while the legion of a thousand angels is just, like, raising his fists to bring it down on top of her. And then he just explodes, like, from the inside. [00:30:11] Speaker A: He uses his love. He goes inside and she thinks of love, and he explodes him from the inside. [00:30:16] Speaker B: Man, it literally looks like he's the White House in Independence day. [00:30:23] Speaker A: And he explodes out of him. And he's got chains and she's covered in goop. So here's my theory here. Do you think maybe. Remember how they threw out, like, oh, his powers are from obsidia. Maybe this is an obsidia hellspawn. [00:30:35] Speaker B: I don't know. Because in the future, all of the necroplasm has been used up. Maybe. I don't know. [00:30:40] Speaker A: Maybe they decided to use obsidia. It's like propane. [00:30:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't know. Propane and propane accessories. [00:30:46] Speaker A: You're either an obsidian man or you're a necroplasm man. [00:30:49] Speaker B: I do like that. When he has his chains and he's coming out of the wreckage, he's got, like, the head or the equivalent of the head of the legion of a thousand angels. [00:31:00] Speaker A: The crown, right? [00:31:01] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely. [00:31:02] Speaker A: Very diablo esque. All right, I got to go. [00:31:04] Speaker B: David, I don't know why you're not just playing right now. [00:31:08] Speaker A: I could be playing while we're recording. Yeah, there's some passive things I could be doing. Geez, Johnny could have booted. [00:31:18] Speaker B: Just. You got to put it on mute so that way we don't get copyright infringements for the. [00:31:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. I don't want to get. Don't want that to happen. [00:31:26] Speaker B: They're having a conversation about what happened, but it's not clear. Their explanation about what happened doesn't really make any sense. Raptor starts talking about the invasive memories that swallowed him, and that's a frightening concept. Invasive memories. That's even worse than the intrusive thoughts. [00:31:52] Speaker A: Then we cut to maybe the most interesting part of the issue for me, where I was like, what's going on here? Yeah, cut to a prison, an unknown prison complex. There's a man who says he's going to basically take down Raptor. [00:32:08] Speaker B: And then what does he say he's going to do after that? [00:32:11] Speaker A: Well, this man's asking this other man, and he says he's going to make them scream, it's Billy Kincaid. [00:32:17] Speaker B: I thought you were going to put on your creepiest Billy Kincaid and do a little performance for us. [00:32:22] Speaker A: No, I was still talking about the first man. Sorry. So in this future, Billy Kincaid is alive. [00:32:27] Speaker B: Billy Kincaid is creepy as shit as always. Yeah, we don't know who this other man talking to him is, though. [00:32:35] Speaker A: Sure don't. Another cool concept. We get a big old moon with a hole in it. [00:32:40] Speaker B: It literally looks like the legion of a thousand angels got hungry and mistook it for cheese. [00:32:46] Speaker A: Took a big chomp out of it. Yeah, I remember. There are these snack cakes, like hostess snack cakes that they sold in the. Had a bite out of the corner, like, designed into it. The idea was like this one cartoon bear took a bite of everyone. [00:32:58] Speaker B: That's hilarious. [00:33:00] Speaker A: Thought it was pretty cool. [00:33:02] Speaker B: Oh, the talking about the world is shit. Did the people who made the world shit realize the world is going to be such shit? And how they miss being normal? And then their hands are slowly creeping toward each other. They're getting closer, and they're getting closer, and then they're finally holding hands, and they're bonding. And it's beautiful. It's a little love story. [00:33:28] Speaker A: When you get a little background on what's going on in this world. There's angelic harvests. There's people severing their minds, their bodies, cannibalistic demon feasts. There's a lot going on in this future. [00:33:39] Speaker B: Everybody's families are dying. They're staring into each other's eyes. And then her head gets sliced off. [00:33:47] Speaker A: Slice. [00:33:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:33:52] Speaker A: Slice right off. [00:33:54] Speaker B: I must say that this did affect me quite emotionally. These last couple of pages here are pretty touching. And it's just like the sudden loss. After the realization of a connection that's been there. That you just didn't realize. It does hurt a little bit. Yeah. [00:34:17] Speaker A: And also it hurts because spawn accidentally did it. [00:34:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Because it was spawn that did it. [00:34:22] Speaker A: He was just thrashing around. [00:34:24] Speaker B: Yeah. He's like, what the hell's going on? I'm just punching at stuff because I don't know what's happening. I don't know what's growing back here. [00:34:31] Speaker A: He's holding Raptor's head, which was the head that was in medieval. [00:34:35] Speaker B: Okay. [00:34:36] Speaker A: And then it's like they meld, and Raptor grows from his old head and appears. And then Spawn says, my head. I don't know why. [00:34:53] Speaker B: He looks so much like craven the hunter here. It's pretty awesome, actually. [00:34:57] Speaker A: See that trailer? [00:34:59] Speaker B: I haven't watched the trailer yet. No. [00:35:02] Speaker A: Looks kind of goofy. [00:35:04] Speaker B: The best part about Craven the hunter is that he wears a vest made of a lion's face. [00:35:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:10] Speaker B: You gotta love it in the. [00:35:14] Speaker A: So, like, his. He regrows and either they're in the black goop land. Or they're in the present or they're in the future. I'm not sure. [00:35:25] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, next. There's supposed to be answers and ultimatums. Next. Johnny. [00:35:30] Speaker A: Well, and they kind of give, like, an apology for this issue. Not apology, but I have the spawning ground. Since I have the physical copy. It's titled a beautiful nightmare. The Future and Spawn. It says, this issue, part one of the two part prophecy of death story. May seem like a detour. A sudden, violent turn in unexpected direction. That is intentional. They want the readers to be as confused and disoriented as Al. By the strange introduction to Raptor. Claudio's in the heart of heavens. Well, succeeded. [00:35:59] Speaker B: A success in the most literal term of the word. Without any of the fanfare or emotional attachment that goes with the word. [00:36:15] Speaker A: And then, basically, the rest of the spawning ground. This is John Goff doing this, but he's just writing kind of hyping up what's coming. He says that there's this story, then after that we'll have Ken Lashley coming back to do some art after this. He says for a four issue arc that promises new heroes and allies, new and old villains, and new limits and dangers to Al's erratic powers. And he says there will be a new global status quo soon. Excited for the future. So they're talking about all these spawns and everything. The universe coming. [00:36:48] Speaker B: Nice. If there were pundits for the spawning grounds. Third pundit himself. His name is escaping me. Jesus. Wow. Rock the shock fennel. Rock the shock fennel will be yelling and complaining and spitting and losing his hair over the coming new world order. [00:37:09] Speaker A: The new spawns universe order. And then it has a little preview for next issue, and it says prophecy of death part two. Who is raptor and who is responsible for the hellish future he calls home? So I guess we'll find out. [00:37:21] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll find out. Maybe we'll like this issue more in light of the next issue, Johnny. Who knows? Maybe stranger things have happened. [00:37:31] Speaker A: And then you get all the ads for the trade paperbacks here. And they have an ad for toys I haven't seen before, which is the mortal Kombat toys. So it has spawn, raiden, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, sub Zero. So to tie into the mortal kombat. [00:37:46] Speaker B: Of it, know, you know who the Todd father needs to make a mortal. [00:37:51] Speaker A: Kombat toy of Christopher Lambert's raven? [00:37:55] Speaker B: No, the little toasty guy. [00:37:58] Speaker A: Just the guy that pops in and says, yeah, why not? [00:38:02] Speaker B: Yeah, that would be great. What a bunch of dorks made mortal Kombat. Literally just a bunch of nerds doing nerd shit. Getting drunk over in Avondale. That's all it was. [00:38:17] Speaker A: And punching and kicking. [00:38:18] Speaker B: Yeah, and hiring the cousin of somebody that I know to do all the actual fighting. All the original mocap. [00:38:27] Speaker A: Forgot about that. [00:38:28] Speaker B: He still comes town and does the clinics where he teaches people to fight with the stakes on ropes. [00:38:38] Speaker A: Nunchucks? [00:38:39] Speaker B: No, not nunchucks. It's like a big heavy arrowhead attached to a big, long rope. [00:38:48] Speaker A: Oh, I know what you're talking about. [00:38:49] Speaker B: Swing it around and then, like, you can kick it to hit stuff or. Yeah, it's amazing to watch. If I ever tried it, I would hit myself right in the face and maybe lose an eye or a tooth or something. [00:39:01] Speaker A: Almost as rough as losing an eye or a tooth as we just got through issue 306. [00:39:06] Speaker B: Like pulling teeth. Sorry. [00:39:08] Speaker A: We're going to piss off all the Raptor fans. What if we find out everyone's like huge Raptor fans? Like the nest issues? [00:39:12] Speaker B: Like amazing Johnny. That's community engagement. They will at least be sending us angry emails at regarding [email protected]. Which that's true, is more than they're sending, period, right now. [00:39:25] Speaker A: That's true. Get us some angry emails going. Raptor sucks. Hey, if you bought that mortal Kombat issue, you're a poop head. No, I'm kidding. No, you're not a poop head. [00:39:38] Speaker B: Not a poop head. Just. You could have made. You could maybe give us some money. [00:39:42] Speaker A: Yeah, we should start a patreon. [00:39:44] Speaker B: Yeah, we should. [00:39:46] Speaker A: So that's 306, baby. [00:39:48] Speaker B: Three oh six in the book. [00:40:12] Speaker A: Wash that taste out of our mouth. We've got scorched to blast that taste out of our mouth, more like it. Oh, man. [00:40:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:19] Speaker A: It's like getting a high pressure hose blown in your face. Scorched number 17. [00:40:25] Speaker B: We're going to explode that taste right out of our mouths right off the bat, Johnny. [00:40:29] Speaker A: And it starts off with a bang. The issue I'm reading with the Mark Brooks cover. [00:40:36] Speaker B: Yes, it does. That's what mine does too. [00:40:39] Speaker A: With a banging looking Jessica. [00:40:41] Speaker B: Yeah, we got Jessica front and center. We got half of Al Simmons from a previous issue. We've got most of redeemer in his nice little power stance. This version of the Redeemer suit, absolutely incredible. [00:41:01] Speaker A: The shinier. [00:41:02] Speaker B: It's real nice. We got most of Cygor with his little Frankenstein stitch and his mouth is open wide. Lots of skulls. Lots of skulls. [00:41:16] Speaker A: And cog. [00:41:17] Speaker B: Cog. [00:41:17] Speaker A: Yeah, almost nice cog, though. Yeah, well, he's got the hat. [00:41:23] Speaker B: Yeah. He's got an evil twinkle in his eye. But it's at least pre syncog. [00:41:29] Speaker A: Pre syncog. Yeah. This is great. These markable covers are epic. It's like if there was a movie. [00:41:36] Speaker B: These would be the movie pre. [00:41:39] Speaker A: Got the hands on the hips just like fuck with me. I dare you. [00:41:43] Speaker B: A pre sin cog implies the existence of a precog sin. Which means we could probably get Tom Cruise in like the third or fourth spawn sequel, Johnny. [00:41:53] Speaker A: Oh, because the precogs from. [00:41:58] Speaker B: Yes, exactly. Exactly. [00:42:02] Speaker A: Well, there is a pre sin or some kind of weird sin in this. So you're maybe not be wrong precinct. [00:42:07] Speaker B: Could you imagine were you were in violation of having committed a to. [00:42:14] Speaker A: You were about to have impure thoughts, sir. [00:42:17] Speaker B: What other covers were on this book? Jenny? [00:42:20] Speaker A: We got a b cover by Francesco Tomicelli. [00:42:25] Speaker B: Hell yeah. [00:42:26] Speaker A: And it is a nice looking plague spawn cacklin. He's got, like, some flames in his mouth. [00:42:34] Speaker B: Exclusive interview from. What was it? Comicbook.com came out this week with Jason Bloom. [00:42:41] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, we have to address this. [00:42:42] Speaker B: Of Bloomhouse Productions, literally. Literally quoted as saying, the spawn movie is in very active development. Basically, the only thing holding it up right now is the writer strike. Still very excited to get it done. There's still movement on it. He hopes for a 2025 release. He says that's not a promise. That's just what he hopes. So let's get these studios to stop being jerks and pay their writers so that way we can get our ding dang spawn movie, Johnny, and then spawn movie. [00:43:19] Speaker A: Can you imagine? I'll lose my mind. [00:43:21] Speaker B: And then they can do the Marvel thing, where they've got the spawn universe and can start making genre pictures within this universe, and then we can get a straight up, I guess all of them are being horror, you know, never mind. Because they're all going to be horror, because they have said that this one's going to be more of a horror movie than a superhero movie. I just want to see Plague spawn be like, oh, no, that's what we need, Johnny. We need a conjuring style movie with Patrick Wilson. [00:43:58] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:43:59] Speaker B: And via formaja. Oh, that was a terrible, terrible. [00:44:05] Speaker A: I think it's via flaminga. [00:44:08] Speaker B: Tracking down a plague spawn and putting it in their museum. Yeah, that would be great. They beat La Llorona. They can tackle this dude easy, Johnny. [00:44:26] Speaker A: I'm curious if it'll be closer to that one that almost got made, where he's talking about how, like, Twitch was the main character and stuff, because, remember, there was that treatment that he was talking about that was, like, ten years ago. They almost made. [00:44:41] Speaker B: It'll be interesting. There's a lot of ideas. It'll be. See what they decide to put in there. [00:44:45] Speaker A: Yeah. And they got some new writers, and I imagine the way that the universe is heading in the comics is probably changing it, too, because he's like, look at all these characters I got. [00:44:52] Speaker B: Yeah. I would be much happier with being like, I kind of wish that this character would have been in versus being like, why is everybody in this? Because that's really. [00:45:07] Speaker A: Probably going to start small scale. I hope it's a small scale. [00:45:09] Speaker B: Yeah. That's probably one of the biggest dings against the 97 movie is that they were like, we have all this. We're going to get all of this in the movie. They do a good job of getting the history of spawn to that point into the movie. Like, stuff's everywhere, but it's too much. [00:45:28] Speaker A: For the pundits are in it. White Terry is in White Terry's in it. The great white Terry. The boring white Terry. The wet noodle white Terry. Sorry, DB Sweeney. [00:45:42] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely not cool enough for Wanda. I hope to be cool that cool someday. Not cool, but taken in by cool people. [00:45:56] Speaker A: I hope to be as cool as Sean Lewis one day. Who's on the script plot for this issue? 17 of Scorch. [00:46:02] Speaker B: Damn, Johnny, that's too cool. I don't know. You might burn yourself up trying to be that cool. [00:46:09] Speaker A: I know I'd be too cool. I'd be hot. And Todd McFarlane is writing additional script on this one. We got the king of the scorched, Steven Segovia, Ulysses Arioli on covers, lettering by Nworld design. We already covered the covers. Creative director, Tod McFarlane. Editor in chief, Thomas Healy. [00:46:33] Speaker B: Hey, look at that. See, it didn't take very long for him to come. Editor in chief, Johnny. It only took one. [00:46:41] Speaker A: No, there's. [00:46:42] Speaker B: He was publishing coordinator in one issue. [00:46:46] Speaker A: There's three years between these issues, David. [00:46:48] Speaker B: What are you talking about, Johnny? There's been, like. [00:46:50] Speaker A: There's a whole ass pandemic. [00:46:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I just read that other one, though, so it's like it was just written for me just then, and then this one was written for me just now. That's not how these things work. You don't know how time works. Time doesn't make any sense anymore, Johnny. [00:47:07] Speaker A: I only measure time and issues with Spawn. Yeah, so this is the exact opposite. I get a nice, easy one here. [00:47:16] Speaker B: I was about to say previously in scorch. [00:47:19] Speaker A: Monolith has arrived, and all hell is about to break loose. [00:47:25] Speaker B: Johnny, man, you got to take a breather after that. That was too long. Take five. [00:47:32] Speaker A: All right, I'm going to woof. That was rough. [00:47:34] Speaker B: No, you can't go dick a necro sig. Now. You'll stop and play Diablo for 45 minutes before you come back? [00:47:41] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the thing. You can't turn it on and play less than, like, 45 minutes. [00:47:45] Speaker B: I'll never get you back to the record before. We both got to go to work. [00:47:49] Speaker A: Yeah, well, before next time, I'll get a tv set up in my closet here so I can play at the same time. That'd probably be healthy. [00:47:58] Speaker B: Yeah, that'd be fine. [00:47:59] Speaker A: So we opened on the earth, the. [00:48:04] Speaker B: Pale blue dot, Johnny. [00:48:07] Speaker A: The pale blue dot. The marble in the sky. The men in black. Marble in the bag. [00:48:12] Speaker B: We're made of star stuff. [00:48:14] Speaker A: Oh, the men in black marbles were galaxies, though, not planets. We are, we all are made of law. We're all made of star stuff. [00:48:23] Speaker B: We are indeed. We got some hurricane level storms that we're seeing over here. Odd wind patterns, Johnny. Od wind patterns. Damn it, Johnny. You know what we don't need right now? Some OD wind patterns. [00:48:37] Speaker A: We really don't because they're probably bringing in that smoke too. That's probably why they crash here. [00:48:41] Speaker B: Although right now, as we speak, that wind's pushing the smoke more towards Indiana now than Chicago. So suck it, Hoosiers. [00:48:52] Speaker A: Take that. [00:48:55] Speaker B: That's what you get. [00:48:56] Speaker A: The space shuttle is the frontier. Was original mission was designed to travel beyond our solar system, but not going to happen. [00:49:04] Speaker B: Not monitor hurricane storms. [00:49:07] Speaker A: No, because I guess they were leaving and they're like, what the hell's going on here? [00:49:10] Speaker B: And turned around, they're like, just come back. Just come back. So we've seen the Omega island incident from the space station. This is not the Omega island event. This is something else. This is not coming from a single point on Earth. This is coming at the earth and. [00:49:35] Speaker A: It'S creating a shape to it. [00:49:37] Speaker B: Yeah, something is wrong, Johnny. Dangerously wrong. And then we cut back to speaking of Omega Islands, Johnny, we cut back there and we got Monolith, who, having already started in the fun, is talking to medieval and Jessica. I like how he just has a couple of bodies hanging in his hands, kind of like he was playing with his action figures and he doesn't think to drop them while he's talking, so he's just holding on to them. [00:50:10] Speaker A: Yeah, got two dudes in his hand. This is where we discover, or I guess he was set up earlier, so people may have already known. This was where I discovered monothe is from another universe, his planet. Well, he's about to explain what happened to his planet. Yeah, space shuttle explodes. It's seen everywhere, all across the globe. A third of the globe sees it. [00:50:32] Speaker B: Yeah, man, that's wild. I couldn't imagine seeing something that a whole third of the world can see. It's got to be a big ass explosion. [00:50:43] Speaker A: And it pulls back as these guys are burning in the shuttle and we see the mark on the world that they were seeing being formed. [00:50:50] Speaker B: Yeah, they said it's a beacon to draw forth the pestilence that monolith is talking about. [00:50:58] Speaker A: The hunters, he calls them, and some call them planet eaters and they're like these big locust things with like a million eyes and they're going to eat the planet. [00:51:07] Speaker B: Yeah. I like how monolith has, like, projection powers so he can show them what the mark looks like. See for yourself. [00:51:17] Speaker A: He's got his PowerPoint presentation ready. [00:51:19] Speaker B: Yeah, he's got, like, a little portable projector, and he's like, hey, I need you to hang this bedsheet up real quick. Just get a little higher over there. Yeah. Okay, good. Awesome. Why is it so bright out here? Make it darker. [00:51:34] Speaker A: So he's basically saying these things are going to do some biblical shit to the world. And Jessica asked him, what do you propose we do? And we cut. [00:51:42] Speaker B: Yes. [00:51:43] Speaker A: Where our three villains are. Let's see, we got. What's his name? Necro. [00:51:48] Speaker B: Necro. [00:51:49] Speaker A: Mandarin and love are here. And they're digging around some ice and some permafrost. Yeah, on the outskirts of a limbo, and they're going to release a virus. [00:52:01] Speaker B: They're also wreaking havoc in lots of places. They're crashing the ocean gate, Titan right there. They're causing an avalanche. They're laying wastes to a city. They're killing some bearded men. [00:52:18] Speaker A: We're spawning all this. [00:52:19] Speaker B: Geez, I don't know. It's a good question, Johnny. Good question. [00:52:25] Speaker A: But where's Urizin? He's chilling back in his bone pile. [00:52:29] Speaker B: Yeah, he just woke up, and he needs to collect his thoughts. It just takes a long time. [00:52:37] Speaker A: He's talking to this sin armor, and this is my theory, that there's either been other sins and this has happened before, or, like, sin is, like, some moniker that happens every once in a while. [00:52:50] Speaker B: Yeah, because. [00:52:54] Speaker A: I don't know. It just seems like that's the case. So maybe there'll be more incarnations of sin that we haven't seen. [00:52:59] Speaker B: Maybe. [00:53:00] Speaker A: There's obviously setting up something here. We have no idea. We know sin's out there. He's not dead, so that's not cog. [00:53:07] Speaker B: Yeah, but it looks very much like a cog type sin person or outfit, because it's definitely not a person no more. It's bones. And then we cut to the wild tega forest in Russia. And, Johnny, did you know that the tega forest has crabs? [00:53:29] Speaker A: I didn't. [00:53:30] Speaker B: There are land crabs in this very cold forest region. That's something I learned in high school. [00:53:37] Speaker A: That's cool. Yeah, land crabs. I was. Well, if Bret Booth was doing it, there'd probably be, like, land crabs. [00:53:49] Speaker B: Man. I think if Bret Booth were drawing this book, he would still be drawing, like, issue six, and he'd be. Ah, slow down. [00:53:58] Speaker A: I gotta put more detail in. And Mandra's just like, why don't we just murder everybody? And they're like, no, we want to control them by making them sick and scared. [00:54:07] Speaker B: Yeah. And margaret loves using her power to, like, she's using her powers the same way they use the shotgun shell in the machine at the beginning of Jurassic park to create waves so that way they can see what's underground there. [00:54:24] Speaker A: Oh, they shoot into the ground. [00:54:26] Speaker B: Yeah. I like how she refers to him. Her beloved necro. [00:54:32] Speaker A: My beloved necro. Got to love him. So he shows up and he offers pestilence by releasing some hell locusts. [00:54:41] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, man. These guys are gross, man. [00:54:47] Speaker A: He's attacking a russian church, basically. [00:54:50] Speaker B: Yeah. And they, like, crawl inside you and turn you into. Basically. I feel like there's another. That's right. It was a red sonja comic where there's hell locusts that literally stingerize you in the back of your skull, and then they take over your body. That's kind of what these guys are doing. [00:55:15] Speaker A: Yeah, kind of. [00:55:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:17] Speaker A: And they get some good book of revelations quote there. [00:55:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:22] Speaker A: But just as things are at their worst, the city's burning, people are turning to locust. People who have appears in this awesome two page spread. But the scorched. [00:55:31] Speaker B: The scorched all four of them now. Well, half of the scorched, because, remember, they're split up into two groups now. [00:55:37] Speaker A: They're split up into two. Right? [00:55:38] Speaker B: We got Redeemer and medieval and Jessica and Monolith and all the boys are going face first. And Jessica's going feet first because she's smart. She's like, I don't want to land on my face. I want to land on my feet. [00:55:54] Speaker A: Monolith says, kill everything you see, regardless of what it is. They're all tainted. So they pop in. [00:56:00] Speaker B: They do. [00:56:00] Speaker A: Necro's like, ah, welcome. [00:56:03] Speaker B: Yeah. And Jessica's trying to be all tactical about it. And monolith's like, no, no tactic. Just fucking smash. [00:56:11] Speaker A: Just slaughter. No tactics. No tactics. [00:56:13] Speaker B: No tactics. [00:56:14] Speaker A: He starts killing all these locusts infected. [00:56:17] Speaker B: Just, he's punching and throwing them around. And, man, he's like, smashing body parts off. That's great. There's this dude that's just like, half a dude. This guy's lost his leg. The rest of the scorcher just watching, and they're like, the hell. [00:56:36] Speaker A: It's like, damn. [00:56:37] Speaker B: Okay. I like how every time monolith does anything, everybody's just like, oh, you could do that. No, I guess we should help. They're always stunned into silence. [00:56:48] Speaker A: I know, because he just, like, rips into things and rips people's heads off and throws them at people. And he has such glee to it too. [00:56:55] Speaker B: Yeah, I like monolith a lot. [00:56:59] Speaker A: I did too. [00:57:00] Speaker B: He's a good guy. Maybe not a good. No, he's a good guy. He's a good guy. [00:57:04] Speaker A: He's a good guy. He's killing zombie people. [00:57:07] Speaker B: Yeah, he just likes to kill zombie people. [00:57:09] Speaker A: She realizes. Jessica realizes. Just a distraction. So she's like. She senses something. So she's like, I got to go. [00:57:16] Speaker B: Yeah. So she sees a portal opening above this church that we were talking about. It's very, like, cut scene in a PlayStation one video game. I can just kind of see it flashing and strobing a little bit. [00:57:30] Speaker A: It's very Ghostbusters. [00:57:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:57:33] Speaker A: Hey, it's Marvel. It always ends with a portal in the sky. There's that theory that every Marvel DC movie the last ten years all end with a portal in the sky. It happens a lot. [00:57:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:57:43] Speaker A: And then we get our opening quote where Jessica is just running fearlessness since the second she was out of her mother's womb. [00:57:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:57:50] Speaker A: Running into battle. [00:57:53] Speaker B: It kind of does make me imagine just like, a baby I know, squirt flying out of its mother and just, like, a football into danger. [00:58:04] Speaker A: I'm the most fearless baby of all time. Bites its own umbilical cord off. I'm Jessica Priest. I gotta go kill Alcibins, man. [00:58:14] Speaker B: Jessica Priest is a badass, and it's great. And, Johnny, since becoming a mother herself, the trade has only become. [00:58:22] Speaker A: Hyper focused. And what she sees. What's this portal? It's our three jerks. [00:58:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:58:30] Speaker A: Summoning the. [00:58:35] Speaker B: It takes three of them to do the job of one Heimdall here, Johnny, because they're making, like, a rainbow bridge. [00:58:42] Speaker A: Yeah, they're making, like, a rainbow bridge to suck in. [00:58:45] Speaker B: Yeah. It looks like Margaret love is not really offering very much, comparatively. [00:58:53] Speaker A: Yeah, she just zapping a little bit of red power. [00:58:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, man. Lanky ass Mandarin. [00:59:02] Speaker A: I know. [00:59:03] Speaker B: He's all lanky, man. And then we got the spawning grounds, which is fan art. It's a fan art week. It's real nice. That clown is real creepy there up on the upper left. [00:59:17] Speaker A: He's real good. [00:59:19] Speaker B: That left in the middle medieval with the Malbolga behind him is choice. [00:59:24] Speaker A: I wish I could see that bigger. [00:59:26] Speaker B: Yeah, me too. I think that's my favorite out of this set. Oh, definitely that middle. Jessica is pretty good too. [00:59:33] Speaker A: I do like the sketch of the painted sketch on the right of Jessica on the throne with the sniper rifle. It's pretty cool. [00:59:39] Speaker B: Yeah, because. Yeah, that's straight up the throne that the homedman made for spawn in the alley. [00:59:48] Speaker A: Yep. [00:59:49] Speaker B: That somehow the unhomed men had access to body parts. Trash and body parts. So weird. [00:59:56] Speaker A: I think Swan adds the body parts. [00:59:58] Speaker B: So weird. Could you imagine being mid 90s, living in the alley with some guys in this weird dude named Al in a Halloween costume? And you just find some body parts, and you're like, yeah, I could put this in a chair for Al. Who was the main architect of that? [01:00:20] Speaker A: Bobby. [01:00:21] Speaker B: Yeah, it was Bobby. [01:00:23] Speaker A: He was running around collecting body parts. He would get so drunk that he wouldn't know what to do. [01:00:27] Speaker B: Yeah, Bobby doesn't so much ask questions. [01:00:29] Speaker A: He's just like, who's the guy who took the bottle off the dead body? [01:00:35] Speaker B: No, I think that was Bobby. Because Bobby was so. [01:00:38] Speaker A: Just Bobby. [01:00:38] Speaker B: Bobby was so. [01:00:39] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, they left the. [01:00:42] Speaker B: It was after. It was after bootsy left, and he just didn't know what to do with his life anymore. [01:00:47] Speaker A: He had to drink, man. Bobby don't collect body parts. Respond, Bobby. [01:00:55] Speaker B: I've said it once before, and I'll say it again. I would read the shit out of a Bobby miniseries. [01:01:01] Speaker A: Let's go. Sean Lewis. Bobby. Bobby spawns Bobby. [01:01:06] Speaker B: It could be, like, four issues, and they don't have to be sequential. They could be, like, different sections of Bobby's life. And then the last two could be right before Bootsy gets taken away by the angels. And the last one is just Bobby Post. Bootsy being, like, my best friend of the world. He's not here anymore. [01:01:25] Speaker A: He's gone, man. And then it ends with an ad for medieval spawn figure. [01:01:30] Speaker B: Yeah, it's such a good figure, Johnny. I like to just stare at it at work. [01:01:36] Speaker A: Yeah, I put them front and center on my shelf here. Such a great. That's score 17. Bing, bang, boom. [01:01:45] Speaker B: I think you know what time it is, Johnny. [01:01:47] Speaker A: It's time to rate these puppies. [01:01:49] Speaker B: It's time to rate some puppies. So. Okay, Johnny, rating these puppies spawn 306 to cover first. [01:02:00] Speaker A: I mean, to stay positive. I like the art a lot. [01:02:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:02:07] Speaker A: I like the Kaiju guy. Throw in raptor. That's about it. [01:02:15] Speaker B: If they did that thing that they do sometimes where they put a special edition of the book out that doesn't have the words on it, and it's just the art. This would be a four book for me. Absolutely. [01:02:31] Speaker A: I mean, it would almost make just as much sense to me. [01:02:35] Speaker B: Yeah, it really would. It would lose nothing. Unfortunately. [01:02:40] Speaker A: The art is. [01:02:41] Speaker B: Art is amazing. [01:02:43] Speaker A: Who knows? Maybe the next issue will clear everything up. But it's just after the momentum of being with the spawns and everybody through the hell hunt, it was just like. [01:02:54] Speaker B: It came to a crashing halt and not even just a crashing halt, like a shoehorned in crashing halt. Instead of being sudden, if it were super sudden and not kind of, like, jammed in there, it would be better. But the fact that the previous issue basically stops and then they have to spool the action back up again to be then like, oh, hey. And the sudden thing happens. It starts on a bit. Yeah. [01:03:26] Speaker A: I don't know. [01:03:27] Speaker B: It starts on a bit of bad pacing. So what are you going to give? [01:03:31] Speaker A: This is kind of a weird story. I'm going to give it 1.5 hundred dollars comic. So I'll get a 1.5 spawn mortal kombat. Because that was the best part, was that story about the mortal Kombat cover, man. [01:03:50] Speaker B: One and a half. $1,500 comics is what, like $2,200? That's nothing to sneeze. [01:03:56] Speaker A: Okay, maybe I shouldn't give it that. I'll give it one and a half. [01:04:02] Speaker B: I'm just saying that I would like $2,200 right now. [01:04:05] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [01:04:07] Speaker B: You could leave your rating. I'm not besmirching your rating. [01:04:10] Speaker A: I'm giving it one and a half mortal Kombat covers. [01:04:13] Speaker B: Nice. [01:04:13] Speaker A: Boom. [01:04:14] Speaker B: Nice. I'm going to give it two attempts at nightwing stances. With those gans, we don't even get to see the full globularness of the buns. So it's not even a real nightwing stance, man. Tim Seeley, every time I see him at a convention, I like to ask him how he's doing, because he wrote and drew Nightwing for a few years, and the DC editors told him that he has to stop putting Nightwing butt in the issues as much. So I like to see how he's doing for his commissions. How's he doing on the night wing butts now? And he's always just, like, buried in a pile of night wing butts that he's drawn. It's great. [01:05:14] Speaker A: Hilarious. [01:05:14] Speaker B: It's great. [01:05:15] Speaker A: And then second, we had scorch 17, a rollicking good time, big climax. Monolith. Throwing people around, man. [01:05:25] Speaker B: Fucking monolith. Love that guy. [01:05:29] Speaker A: Love him. I'm going to give it 4.5, baby. Jessica's jumping fearlessly out of her mother's womb. [01:05:37] Speaker B: Oh, man. [01:05:38] Speaker A: Just like punching the doctor. [01:05:40] Speaker B: Just like a cannon. [01:05:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:05:42] Speaker B: Boom. [01:05:43] Speaker A: Bam. Don't touch me, doctor. [01:05:45] Speaker B: Yeah. It would be like in a russian action film where they've got, like, the super slow motion shot of her actually punching the doctor with this little, bitty, tiny. [01:05:56] Speaker A: Yeah, 4.5. It's just a fun issue. I love Urzin. Well, he's fine. I don't give a shit. I love Monolith. [01:06:05] Speaker B: He's hanging out in his studio apartment, just waiting for people to call him to come do stuff. Johnny. [01:06:10] Speaker A: I know. He's just chilling. They're calling him, and they are. But it's a great setup to a fun. This next issue, this scorch arc is really good. Scorch has just been firing all cylinders for me. Really enjoyed. [01:06:23] Speaker B: Yeah, it's been real. [01:06:25] Speaker A: What about you, David? [01:06:26] Speaker B: I am going to give it four scorched members falling from a portal in the sky. [01:06:31] Speaker A: Hey. [01:06:33] Speaker B: That's what I'm going to give. It. [01:06:34] Speaker A: Can't get much better than that. [01:06:36] Speaker B: No. The only way that score gets better is if there's more members on the team. [01:06:41] Speaker A: That's true. And there were only four. [01:06:44] Speaker B: If this is the X Men of the spawn universe, then we can expect that there might become two scorched books, each following different sets of the part. [01:06:59] Speaker A: Of west coast Scorch. [01:07:03] Speaker B: It's just all the ones that can't live in New York anymore or are just, like, self obsessed. Have to form their own team on the other side of the country. [01:07:13] Speaker A: Right. They're a little more Hollywood. [01:07:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Nice. And somehow Hawkeye is in it. [01:07:21] Speaker A: I'd watch mean Jeremy Renner plays. [01:07:24] Speaker B: Yeah, that counts. [01:07:26] Speaker A: Well, David. [01:07:28] Speaker B: Yes? [01:07:29] Speaker A: If you recall. [01:07:31] Speaker B: I can't. [01:07:33] Speaker A: I know you can't. The synopsis or the previously enscorched was, Monolith has arrived, and all hell is about to break loose. [01:07:41] Speaker B: Okay. Yes. What's that? [01:07:44] Speaker A: Monolith has arrived in my mail, and I'm about to bust him loose because it's time for Todd's toy talk. I got in my triple pack of this wave of spawn that came with the Batman spawn action figure cover. Because I spent enough money. I only got the first tier. I didn't go all the way up to get the autograph. I got my monolith here. [01:08:20] Speaker B: You're a bad nerd, Johnny. [01:08:22] Speaker A: I'm a bad nerd? [01:08:24] Speaker B: You're a better nerd than me. [01:08:26] Speaker A: So the monolith is this big. He's the big figure this time. Huge package. [01:08:32] Speaker B: He's got a huge package. [01:08:33] Speaker A: David didn't mean to say that. [01:08:37] Speaker B: Bonk. Speaking of mail bulge Monday. Yeah. [01:08:40] Speaker A: Speaking of mail bulge, it's a McFarland. Illustration. Covers the back and front, so that's cool. I can definitely tell it's McFarlane. [01:08:49] Speaker B: Yeah. The last time I was over there, we were splitting up the bounty of spawn comics. I took a gander at him, man. Very impressive in person. I mean, it looks great in pictures on the Internet, but you separated from that thing by just, like, the thinnest layer of plastic. Damn, it's a great figure, Johnny. [01:09:12] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. So I'm going to shake him a little bit and get ready to bust him open here. Get out my handy dandy pocket knife. [01:09:20] Speaker B: All hell's about to break loose. [01:09:22] Speaker A: All hell's about to break loose in my closet here. Watch out. [01:09:25] Speaker B: Nice. He's going to help you play Diablo after this, isn't he? [01:09:29] Speaker A: I imagine so. He's a big enough figure. He can probably hold the controller. All right, I got to cut off all the little stickers here. Yeah. So I'm excited to get back to those issues. We're introduced to monolith because we know he's introduced earlier. I just don't know much about him, but he's pretty cool. [01:09:48] Speaker B: He's very cool. [01:09:52] Speaker A: Pulling it out. Pulling him out of the big package. Pull out the big package. [01:10:01] Speaker B: I have a package for you. [01:10:04] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. Oh, God. This is, like, super attached. This is going to take a second. [01:10:09] Speaker B: Okay. [01:10:11] Speaker A: Attached to the cardboard, even. [01:10:12] Speaker B: Oh, man. Are there, like, 40 of those little bitty clippy things that hold his arms and legs in? [01:10:18] Speaker A: Yeah, there's a bunch of them. [01:10:20] Speaker B: How's the smell on this one? This one got a good smell. [01:10:23] Speaker A: Let me give it a smell. Yeah, nice and plasticky. [01:10:27] Speaker B: Nice. [01:10:28] Speaker A: Reminds me of the sleepy hollow figures I had as a kid. Those stank. [01:10:32] Speaker B: Oh, man. They're McFarland. I used to work in a bottle factory, and it sucked. But, man, warm plastic immediately out of the extruder probably killed so many of my brain cells. But it's magical scent, magical plastic and ink. [01:10:53] Speaker A: Some of my favorite scents. [01:10:57] Speaker B: You buy one of those soft. You buy one of those paperback books at the pharmacy, the drugstore, stick your nose right in the middle of those. Oh, they smell so good. [01:11:11] Speaker A: All right. Trying to get all these little things off is a little harder than I thought. All right, one more. [01:11:25] Speaker B: Time. [01:11:26] Speaker A: Okay, I think I got them all. [01:11:28] Speaker B: Nice. [01:11:29] Speaker A: Get him out. Whoa. Here he comes. [01:11:35] Speaker B: Nice. All hell broke loose. [01:11:37] Speaker A: All hell broke loose. Oh, my God. He's huge. Oh, this is awesome. [01:11:41] Speaker B: Broke. [01:11:42] Speaker A: Super sturdy. He's super posable. [01:11:44] Speaker B: Nice. Does he have one of those little spawn stands? Or are his feet big enough that he just stands by himself? [01:11:50] Speaker A: Oh, he has a spawn stand. I don't think he's going to need it. Oh, yeah. He's got, like, these big shoulder pads. He's got his glowing belt buckle there with all his little, like, capsules. [01:12:03] Speaker B: Nice looking. [01:12:04] Speaker A: Pretty badass. [01:12:06] Speaker B: Nice. Ooh. [01:12:07] Speaker A: His toes are articulated. That's cool. [01:12:09] Speaker B: Whoa. Like, is it one big flap or are they individually articulated? [01:12:13] Speaker A: Yeah, one big flap. They're all kind of like that. But his are just really big toes. [01:12:17] Speaker B: So it's funny, I was about to say, holy crap. They're putting individual toe articulation, man. [01:12:22] Speaker A: He does that really cool thing where the legs have, like, the kind of bendier plastic. So there's, like, no seams at all. [01:12:27] Speaker B: It's really cool. Nice. [01:12:30] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I'm going to give him a battle axe or something. [01:12:34] Speaker B: No accessories in the. [01:12:36] Speaker A: No accessories. He's got a fist in one hand. [01:12:39] Speaker B: He's not an accessory guy. He's just in there with his fists and his pumlin. [01:12:43] Speaker A: Yeah, he doesn't need that. [01:12:47] Speaker B: In this issue of scorch, we just read, he's got, like, the covers, the fist plate on his wrist, on one side. Does he have that in the figure or is. [01:12:59] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, he's got wrist plates. [01:13:02] Speaker B: Nice. [01:13:03] Speaker A: He's got it on both sides, though. [01:13:05] Speaker B: Nice. [01:13:06] Speaker A: He's a little more symmetrical, but, yeah, sweet figure. [01:13:11] Speaker B: Nice. [01:13:12] Speaker A: Got to love it. [01:13:14] Speaker B: You do. You definitely do. [01:13:36] Speaker A: And every week we like to highlight someone that loves spawn. [01:13:39] Speaker B: Yeah, we do. [01:13:40] Speaker A: This week we got lucky enough. There was someone who loves Spawn. That was featured in the spawning grounds of Scorch 17. And who is that, David? [01:13:51] Speaker B: Who is that? [01:13:52] Speaker A: Who is that? [01:13:53] Speaker B: Who is that? Their title is maximum nor on Instagram over there. So. Instagram.com maximum nor. And that's actual, not dot. [01:14:08] Speaker A: And it's maximum nor comics, comic book related stuff from Jordan Noor, who's the artist. And he had that middle Jessica. In the spawning grounds that we highlighted. He's got a lot of great scorch stuff haunt spawn. You can follow his other. He also has just a normal account, Jordan nor. But that's linked in there. But he's got a lot of cool stuff. A really cool swamp thing. [01:14:30] Speaker B: Yeah, he's got a pretty badass. Wolverine is the first thing he has right now. He's just got, like, all the arts that we like, all of them. [01:14:43] Speaker A: So make sure to give them a follow and support their art. They've got some really cool stuff, and they got into Spawn, so got to love it. [01:14:50] Speaker B: They got a nice little Angela there, man. [01:14:54] Speaker A: They've been doing a lot of forbidden. Angela's forbidden. [01:15:00] Speaker B: You're forbidden. [01:15:05] Speaker A: While you're over there on instagram, make sure to give t. Brian voiler a follow. He does our great music. He moved into a new place, as you guys know. I helped him move on Smoky day. And he's probably going to write some new music for us here soon, once he gets situated. So look forward to that. [01:15:23] Speaker B: Smokey day should probably be his pseudonym if he ever starts making funk music. [01:15:29] Speaker A: Smokey day. [01:15:30] Speaker B: Smokey day. [01:15:34] Speaker A: And while you're following Brian, make sure to give us a follow at. Regarding Spawn pod, we're posting our toys. [01:15:59] Speaker A: David, David, David, David, David. [01:16:01] Speaker B: What's that? [01:16:02] Speaker A: I got a secret for you. [01:16:03] Speaker B: Okay, I'm ready for it. [01:16:05] Speaker A: Spawn is fun. [01:16:06] Speaker B: Oh, man. I thought you were going to tell me that Spawn is good, because that is also true. [01:16:11] Speaker A: Spawn is good and fun. [01:16:13] Speaker B: Yes, it's good fun. It's fun good. [01:16:17] Speaker A: If you want to keep the fun, good going, send us an email. [01:16:21] Speaker B: Yeah. Every week I like to ask a question to put out there into the Malbolge, if you want to answer it. As we say this week, I want to know what the most valuable comic you have is, the most not. And maybe you could take that to mean to yourself, which, yes, but I'm just curious if you have any. If any of our listeners have any of those $1,500 mortal kombat issues or anything like that, or what's the rarest thing that you have in your collection that you're proud of? Just be curious to hear. [01:17:02] Speaker B: Or like some random 1950s old ass issue that they found in their parents closet that only, like, twelve exist of anymore. [01:17:14] Speaker A: That's the dream. [01:17:15] Speaker B: That would be great. Hey, so, Johnny. Johnny, what are you going to be doing in a week? You got any plans next week? [01:17:22] Speaker A: Talk to you about Spawn, I think. [01:17:24] Speaker B: Oh, talking to me about Spawn. Hell, yeah. Is this going to happen before or after you see the new Indiana Jones? [01:17:31] Speaker A: Because this will be happening. Because I think after. [01:17:35] Speaker B: So that way you'll be less excited to talk about anything. Because your brain will just be full of Indiana Jones and not Spawn. Will it? [01:17:43] Speaker A: I'll give my take, that's for sure. [01:17:45] Speaker B: That's what we're here. So for next week, like we do every week. We're going to read two more entries. Into Spawn's universe. A classic and a contemporary. [01:18:01] Speaker A: What do you got for us, David? [01:18:02] Speaker B: What do I got for us? Well, next week for our classic. We got Spawn 307. Prophecy of Death issue number two, part two of two. [01:18:12] Speaker A: We'll see what happens here with this raptor character. [01:18:17] Speaker B: We will see if that increases our like of 306 at all. Stay tuned. And then our second book will be Spawn 341. I'm very excited to talk about Spawn 341. Johnny, this roaring reconville is just kicking. [01:18:35] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [01:18:36] Speaker B: Out of the park. You don't kick it out of the park. Is he playing kickball? Jesus. Not kickball out of the park. [01:18:42] Speaker A: I'm excited to revisit it. [01:18:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Those books again for next week? Spawn 307. Spawn 341. Double main title week. It's going to be excellent. [01:18:53] Speaker A: Hell, yeah. [01:18:54] Speaker B: Hell, yeah. [01:18:55] Speaker A: Also, just make sure to, like, review and subscribe. And all the places you can do. That always helps us get a little more visibility. And help spread the spawn words. That's what we're all about. [01:19:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Tell a friend. Tell a coworker. Tell your mom. Hi, mom. [01:19:11] Speaker A: Hi, mom. My mom's excited. We talked about Woolrock the other day. [01:19:16] Speaker B: Oh, nice. [01:19:17] Speaker A: I told her that episode comes out today. So she's going to listen to. [01:19:23] Speaker B: Have a. Was it like a replica of the spirit of St. Louis. Or was it a different. [01:19:29] Speaker A: Yeah, they. [01:19:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. That was great, man. Woolarok was a cool ass place. [01:19:35] Speaker A: Sure was, man. [01:19:37] Speaker B: Awesome. [01:19:38] Speaker A: Sure is. Probably. Probably still is. [01:19:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm sure it is. If you're in Oklahoma, go to Willorock. Look at the shrunken heads. Tell them I sent you. Tell the heads that I sent you. Because not Willorock. They'll appreciate it more than the employees at Willorock. They don't know me. But those heads. I've looked at them so many times. They know. [01:19:56] Speaker A: They remember. Yeah, they'll always remember. Oh, I can balance monolith on my hand. He's standing here on my hand. [01:20:03] Speaker B: Whoa. Nice. Well, with that in hand, Johnny, I think that just leads me to say, may the scorched be with you. [01:20:16] Speaker A: And also with you, says monolith. [01:20:18] Speaker B: Oh, man. Oh, man. He's small soldiering on us. [01:20:23] Speaker A: He's turning in small soldiering. [01:20:25] Speaker B: He's real life. [01:20:27] Speaker A: He's like Detective Chip hazard. All right, I'm going to go get my little tiny tv and hook it up on the wall here. Use my spawn hammer from medieval to nail it in so I can mount it. So next time, either I or monolith can play Diablo. What's that? Monolith. [01:20:43] Speaker B: Oh, cool. [01:20:44] Speaker A: He's going to level for me while I'm at work, so actually, that'll help me a. Yeah. All right. All right, David. I'm out of here. I'm gonna get a tv, hook it up. See you next week. [01:20:57] Speaker B: See you. See ya.
