[00:00:00] Speaker A: I'd like to think my best work is still ahead of me. [00:00:02] Speaker B: In the future, I try not to. [00:00:03] Speaker A: Critique my own work too much. I will just move on to the next issue. That's how you get to number 319. [00:00:10] Speaker C: Todd McFarland, June 2021. Malbolm is regarding Spawn, the world's best Spawn podcast. I'm your co host, John Fisher. [00:00:58] Speaker D: And I'm your co host, David Williams. [00:01:00] Speaker E: And Johnny, I saw something that made me so upset, I can't stop thinking about it. [00:01:07] Speaker D: So I am now going to burden you with the glorious knowledge of this. [00:01:12] Speaker E: Let'S just call it some fuckery. [00:01:14] Speaker A: Was it the Creator? Because, boy, that wasn't very good. [00:01:17] Speaker D: Oh, no. We need a good Sci-Fi epic. [00:01:23] Speaker A: No, it wasn't terrible. [00:01:24] Speaker F: Anyway. [00:01:24] Speaker A: No, what was it? [00:01:25] Speaker E: David preface is Spooky Season. [00:01:31] Speaker D: And. [00:01:34] Speaker F: I. [00:01:34] Speaker E: Saw that somebody said that the song Monster Mash isn't one of those songs. [00:01:40] Speaker D: Where they tell you what the dance. [00:01:42] Speaker E: Is in the song that within the text of the Monster Mash, they tell. [00:01:47] Speaker D: You that they did the Monster Mash. [00:01:49] Speaker E: The song is about the song that teaches you to do the Monster Mash. [00:01:55] Speaker D: So, A, we don't know the original song that the Monster Mash was danced. [00:01:59] Speaker E: To, and B, we don't know how to dance the Monster Mash. We just basically have the second degree. [00:02:07] Speaker D: Commentary song about people dancing the Monster. [00:02:11] Speaker E: Mash to the Monster Mash. [00:02:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:02:14] Speaker F: Oh, my God. [00:02:15] Speaker A: All we know is that it was a graveyard smash. [00:02:17] Speaker E: That's all we know. We don't know what they danced to. [00:02:19] Speaker B: Or how they danced. [00:02:21] Speaker F: Wow. [00:02:22] Speaker A: It's the greatest thought about that. [00:02:23] Speaker E: The greatest mystery of our time, Johnny. [00:02:27] Speaker C: It's true. [00:02:28] Speaker B: One of them. [00:02:32] Speaker A: It has been spooky season. I've been watching a lot of good scary movies. [00:02:36] Speaker D: Oh, nice. [00:02:38] Speaker C: Participating in comic sharing. [00:02:41] Speaker A: I guess that's a big thing in October. [00:02:44] Speaker D: Yeah, a lot of people do art prompts for October. I guess most every time of the year you could find a list of art prompts. But very specifically during Spooky Season, everybody's like, I want to draw some disgusting shit. So they draw some disgusting. [00:03:01] Speaker F: Right. [00:03:02] Speaker E: Or like mike Norton has a long. [00:03:04] Speaker D: Running project where he does, as people say, as he himself says, he watches movies for fun that you wouldn't watch on a dare. And so he does 31 days of schlocktober, and each day it's one just terrible, god awful, low budget horror film. He watches it, and then he draws his favorite scene from that horror film and posts it every day. [00:03:34] Speaker A: Oh, that's great. [00:03:35] Speaker B: It's great. [00:03:36] Speaker C: That's fun. Yeah, it's real fun. [00:03:39] Speaker A: What did I watch? [00:03:41] Speaker C: I watched Texas Chainsaw The Next Generation, which is nice. [00:03:45] Speaker F: Wild. [00:03:45] Speaker A: It's the second time I've seen it. [00:03:46] Speaker C: I was just curious to revisit it. [00:03:48] Speaker D: That's the one that takes place in space? [00:03:49] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:03:51] Speaker A: No, unfortunately not. It might as well. It's got Patrick Master and Renee Zellweger in it. [00:03:57] Speaker E: Really? [00:03:58] Speaker A: Yeah, it's weird. It's really weird. It's worth a check out. [00:04:02] Speaker C: It's on Peacock, if you have it. [00:04:06] Speaker E: I got it. [00:04:08] Speaker F: Nice. [00:04:08] Speaker A: It's on there. [00:04:10] Speaker C: And then I watched the 2018 I believe it was 2018, maybe it was 2016. I watched that Halloween I think it was 2016. [00:04:22] Speaker A: The newest one, the first of the newest trilogy. This is just called Halloween. [00:04:30] Speaker D: I think it was either 2018 or 2019. [00:04:33] Speaker E: I think it was 2018. [00:04:35] Speaker C: No, it was 2016. [00:04:36] Speaker D: I think 2018. [00:04:38] Speaker A: Right before the pan. [00:04:39] Speaker D: You're right, yeah. The David Gordon green ones. Because I remember my manager at the time was real excited that the second. [00:04:45] Speaker E: One was going to come out post pandemic. [00:04:49] Speaker D: And then there's also it came out. [00:04:51] Speaker E: Just so post pandemic that it was. [00:04:54] Speaker D: Filmed before the pandemic and then after the pandemic. It's just like, why are there so. [00:04:59] Speaker E: Many people everywhere in this movie for Halloween Kills? Oh, boy. [00:05:05] Speaker F: That's right. [00:05:05] Speaker A: I loved Halloween kills. [00:05:06] Speaker E: Halloween kills is great. But seriously, there are so many fucking. [00:05:11] Speaker D: People in that that hospital. [00:05:14] Speaker E: I mean, I guess I've been in hospitals, and they're often quite crowded, but. [00:05:18] Speaker C: Good Lord, bunch of people got stabbed that night. [00:05:21] Speaker A: David Michael Myers stabs a shitload of people in Halloween 2018. [00:05:28] Speaker E: Speaking of the Michael Myers, Johnny, have. [00:05:30] Speaker D: You seen the video of the little kid who's dressed up as Michael Myers playing on a whole bunch of hay bales, and then he falls down to the ground and people start laughing, and. [00:05:41] Speaker E: Then he does the Michael Myers very. [00:05:43] Speaker D: Stiff board sit up. [00:05:46] Speaker A: Oh, no, I haven't. That's hilarious. [00:05:48] Speaker E: It's great. [00:05:48] Speaker D: It's great. This little kid, he, as they say, understood the assignment. [00:05:53] Speaker B: Nice. [00:05:53] Speaker A: That's cute. [00:05:54] Speaker C: Now, I watched that I watched a 1979 horror film called Tourist Trap. [00:06:00] Speaker A: It's really good and creepy. [00:06:01] Speaker E: Nice. [00:06:03] Speaker A: That's also on peacock. Peacock has a lot of good stuff. [00:06:06] Speaker E: Yeah, they do, quietly, one of the most powerful streaming platforms, especially for the price. [00:06:13] Speaker A: It's still like $6. [00:06:15] Speaker C: Yeah, it's hella cheap for 599, I think. [00:06:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:20] Speaker A: And unfortunately, Shutter is like the cheapest. [00:06:22] Speaker D: Unfortunately, the only reason people want to go to Peacock is just for The Office. [00:06:26] Speaker E: And you know what? [00:06:27] Speaker D: I've tried to watch The Office like. [00:06:29] Speaker E: Three times, and I can't do it. [00:06:31] Speaker A: I never watched the office. [00:06:35] Speaker E: No reason to now. [00:06:37] Speaker C: No, I mean, as you would say, I'm not a big TV man. [00:06:44] Speaker D: I'm not a TV man. [00:06:46] Speaker A: Not a TV man. [00:06:47] Speaker C: I mean, I'll watch some shows, but I prefer movies. [00:06:52] Speaker A: Or I think what happened to me is video games takes the time I would spend to watch TV shows. [00:06:58] Speaker D: Yeah, well, you see, here's the problem I have, Johnny. I never have, like, two and a. [00:07:03] Speaker E: Half hours in a row to just sit down and watch one thing, right? [00:07:08] Speaker D: And so I will just willingly watch basically an 18 hours movie because it's split up in such a way that I can just watch 45 minutes of it and then bounce to do something else. It's wild when you think about it. [00:07:21] Speaker A: I don't mind pausing a movie and coming back to it. [00:07:23] Speaker C: I don't mind that. I'll do that. [00:07:27] Speaker D: It depends on the movie. [00:07:28] Speaker E: For me, I've had no problem doing. [00:07:32] Speaker D: It in the past, but it really. [00:07:34] Speaker E: Disrupts my like of it. [00:07:37] Speaker A: It can usually it's movies I've seen. [00:07:39] Speaker C: Before that I do that with. [00:07:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I rewatch a lot of shit, David. [00:07:43] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:07:44] Speaker E: And I don't do also, famously, I'm. [00:07:48] Speaker D: At the point where instead of, like, it used to be, I started something. I'm committed. I have to finish this movie, this book, this television show. [00:07:54] Speaker E: I just got to complete it. But now I'm at the point that. [00:07:57] Speaker D: If I'm ten pages into a book and I'm like, this is garbage, I'll. [00:08:01] Speaker E: Just toss it and move on. [00:08:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:08:04] Speaker E: And sometimes I'm interested in a movie. [00:08:08] Speaker D: But it's not really great, and if. [00:08:09] Speaker E: I break my momentum, I'll never get back to it. Case in point, fucking Asteroid City. Good Lord. [00:08:18] Speaker C: I skipped it. I didn't see it. [00:08:21] Speaker E: It's beautiful. It's probably one of Wes Anderson's. [00:08:24] Speaker D: I said Wes Craven's, Wes Anderson's. [00:08:26] Speaker E: Most beautiful movies. [00:08:28] Speaker D: But Jesus, it does not move at. [00:08:33] Speaker E: All in any way, shape or form. [00:08:36] Speaker D: I like it less than Moonrise Kingdom. And I'm apparently the only person in. [00:08:40] Speaker E: The world who wasn't completely enamored with. [00:08:42] Speaker C: Kingdom, so I liked Moonrise Kingdom. [00:08:47] Speaker E: It was fine. [00:08:49] Speaker A: I mean, I didn't love it. I'm not like a big westhead. [00:08:54] Speaker D: It was no. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zoo. [00:08:56] Speaker E: That's still the high point for me. [00:08:59] Speaker B: Sure. [00:08:59] Speaker E: Or the Grand Budapest Hotel was pretty great, too. [00:09:02] Speaker F: I like that one a lot. [00:09:03] Speaker A: That was actually probably my personal favorite. [00:09:05] Speaker D: Yeah, that one's got it's. [00:09:07] Speaker E: The magical realism of that one is just incredible. [00:09:12] Speaker A: Yeah, I really like that one. [00:09:13] Speaker C: That one might be my personal fave. [00:09:16] Speaker F: Yeah. Nice. [00:09:16] Speaker D: Well, Johnny, speaking of personal favorites, do. [00:09:19] Speaker E: You happen to have a personal favorite comic book? [00:09:22] Speaker F: I do. [00:09:23] Speaker A: It's the whole universe of Spawn's Universe. [00:09:28] Speaker D: So Spawn's Universe number one. [00:09:32] Speaker A: No, that is a really good comic book. [00:09:35] Speaker C: It is a really value. [00:09:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:09:37] Speaker A: You get a packed comic book for $6. [00:09:39] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:09:39] Speaker D: It's like three comic books put together. [00:09:41] Speaker A: It's almost like a trade paperback size. [00:09:43] Speaker C: Yeah, it's getting close. [00:09:46] Speaker B: Nice. No. [00:09:47] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:09:48] Speaker A: Swans Universe. [00:09:49] Speaker C: I mean, do I have a favorite comic book? Probably king spawn, if I had to say one. I'm trying to think what else I. [00:10:02] Speaker A: Mean, the Spawn books. The Spawn books are my favorite. [00:10:04] Speaker C: All four of them. [00:10:05] Speaker F: Spawn Books. [00:10:06] Speaker A: The ever expanding Spawns universe. [00:10:09] Speaker E: Spawn Books. [00:10:10] Speaker F: Spawn books. Yes. [00:10:11] Speaker A: Spawns Universe on the Brain. Because of what we're covering this week, and I should get to that. So we can kind of get into it a little bit because a little bit of preamble, I guess. [00:10:19] Speaker B: Yes. [00:10:19] Speaker C: But we've been going through recently the. [00:10:22] Speaker A: Last 20 or something episodes. [00:10:25] Speaker C: This last few months we've been going through from the kind of reboot where. [00:10:31] Speaker A: They did the Spawn recap to up to currently where we started the show. [00:10:37] Speaker D: The story as told by Coliostro to redeemer, redeemer, redeemer. I knew Godsend was there. [00:10:48] Speaker A: A whole bunch of people. [00:10:49] Speaker D: I think Jason Wynn was there as fucking what's his face. [00:10:53] Speaker E: Who we meet in this issue? Jesus Christ. [00:10:55] Speaker A: What's his disruptor? [00:10:56] Speaker E: Disruptor? Why do I always forget Disruptor? [00:10:59] Speaker D: It's because I think his name's going to start with an R. That's what it is. [00:11:02] Speaker A: Well, we don't meet him in this issue, but we meet him in a very important issue that we've already covered. [00:11:06] Speaker F: Oh, okay. [00:11:06] Speaker D: That's what it was. Wrist dropter. Maybe that's what I'm going to start calling him. [00:11:09] Speaker E: So that way it fits with the although he's not really covering. [00:11:13] Speaker C: What we're covering is Spawn 319 and Gunslinger Spawn 23. [00:11:19] Speaker A: But the reason we're being all goofy. [00:11:20] Speaker C: And talking about Spawn's Universe is in. [00:11:23] Speaker A: June 2021, is when Spawn 319 came out. And in that same month, earlier in. [00:11:28] Speaker C: The month, Spawn's Universe came out. And it's pretty essential to like if. [00:11:34] Speaker A: You'Re following along, it's pretty essential to understanding a lot of what's happening here. [00:11:39] Speaker C: From where we were. [00:11:40] Speaker D: So, yeah, we covered Spawn's Universe back. Oh, boy. Let's take a look at yield graph. [00:11:50] Speaker E: Spawn's Universe was episode two unlistenable, I bet. [00:11:54] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:11:55] Speaker C: Please don't go listen to it. I'm so sorry. [00:11:58] Speaker A: We covered that so early. [00:11:59] Speaker D: What a yeah, it's at the time, I thought it was a great entry. [00:12:04] Speaker E: Point to just, like, get into the universe, and it's still a good place. [00:12:10] Speaker D: To jump on, but holy shit. It makes so much more sense when it's read in continuity. [00:12:16] Speaker A: Johnny oh, yeah, way more sense. [00:12:19] Speaker D: Oh, boy. I was reading through it last night to get prepared for reading the other two issues, and I was just like, I feel like I've never read this before. Holy crap. [00:12:29] Speaker A: I remember the images and things that happened but now made sense. [00:12:32] Speaker C: Yeah, it made a lot more sense. [00:12:35] Speaker A: It's a great issue. [00:12:36] Speaker C: Spawn's universe is cool. [00:12:38] Speaker E: Yeah, it's a good hefty boy of a comic book. [00:12:42] Speaker C: It certainly is. We covered Spawn's Universe. [00:12:44] Speaker A: And another issue. We covered two issues, and we covered Spawn's Universe as one of them. [00:12:48] Speaker E: Yeah, I do believe we covered we. [00:12:51] Speaker D: Covered issue number. [00:12:55] Speaker E: Two, king Spawn Number Eleven. So we did two new ones on that episode. [00:13:03] Speaker D: That must have been the genesis of we cover two issues, an old and. [00:13:07] Speaker E: Anew, except for when we don't, I guess. [00:13:10] Speaker A: I don't know. I don't know what we were thinking. I'll never listen to that, ever. [00:13:15] Speaker E: Make me so angry. [00:13:17] Speaker A: So don't listen to it. Whatever you do, don't go back and listen to our second episode of this fucking podcast. [00:13:22] Speaker E: No, do listen to it. [00:13:23] Speaker D: If you want to hear us talk about Spawn's Universe number one, no, do listen to it. [00:13:27] Speaker A: Just understand. It's probably really bad audio quality. [00:13:29] Speaker D: Also, Johnny, I just realized we're 63 episodes into a Spawn podcast. [00:13:35] Speaker E: Right? We should have called it all spawns considered. [00:13:40] Speaker B: God damn it. [00:13:42] Speaker A: All spawns considered. [00:13:43] Speaker C: All spawns considered to highbrow them. [00:13:48] Speaker D: And then everybody would know that I was going to make NPR jokes the whole time. [00:13:52] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, there's a big Ven diagram of people that like Spawn and NPR. [00:13:57] Speaker C: I think it's a huge overlap. We might be the only kidding. [00:14:01] Speaker E: I mean, I think there's a huge overlap with people who are NPR people. [00:14:08] Speaker D: And people who like Spawn, but the overlap is mostly people who are a little embarrassed by the fact that they. [00:14:15] Speaker E: Like Spawn and we're just embarrassed by. [00:14:18] Speaker A: The fact they like fucking NPR. [00:14:20] Speaker E: We're just out and proud about I'm not Johnny. [00:14:26] Speaker D: There's no such thing as a guilty pleasure. [00:14:28] Speaker E: It's either a pleasure or it's not a pleasure. [00:14:31] Speaker D: Don't like things ironically. That just means you're doing something that. [00:14:34] Speaker E: You don't actually want to do. It's fucking stupid. [00:14:38] Speaker C: No, I love just I feel like. [00:14:40] Speaker A: I don't know, in the last few years, they lost a lot of their different programming and at night and later they just play like, BBC World News about the fucking Ukrainian war and that's it. [00:14:52] Speaker E: I listen to it in the morning for the morning edition. [00:14:56] Speaker F: Morning's good. [00:14:57] Speaker A: I listen to that. Or I listen to WGN if I. [00:14:59] Speaker C: Want a little lighter. [00:15:03] Speaker E: Morning show. [00:15:04] Speaker A: It's not like a morning zoo. [00:15:05] Speaker C: It's just this one old guy who takes you through the world and it. [00:15:11] Speaker A: Has a little more local coverage, which is nice. It's pretty local on NPR. [00:15:16] Speaker E: So tell us about your favorite both national and local news outlets regarding [email protected]. [00:15:24] Speaker C: Yeah, let us know. [00:15:25] Speaker F: Let us know. [00:15:25] Speaker D: Let us know what channel Bozo the. [00:15:26] Speaker E: Clown comes on for. [00:15:27] Speaker B: You. [00:15:30] Speaker C: Speaking. [00:15:31] Speaker D: Yeah, looking. My mouth just stops working. [00:15:36] Speaker E: Speaking of local news programming, tell us. [00:15:40] Speaker D: If you have a local Sven Guli. [00:15:43] Speaker E: Type of character that everybody knows about. [00:15:46] Speaker D: Where you're from and seems like the. [00:15:48] Speaker E: Biggest damn deal ever. And then people from elsewhere are just like, who? [00:15:54] Speaker F: What? [00:15:57] Speaker D: It surprises me that not everybody in the world knows the OETA Movie Club. [00:16:02] Speaker B: Dude. [00:16:02] Speaker E: I know. [00:16:03] Speaker C: He was great. [00:16:05] Speaker A: And he used the Gremlins theme, was his theme for his show. What a great gig, being a movie host. That'd be amazing. [00:16:16] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:16:17] Speaker E: I mean, wasn't his name David? [00:16:19] Speaker C: I don't remember. [00:16:22] Speaker D: In my recollection, he had like an afro of curly hair. [00:16:26] Speaker E: Is that correct? [00:16:28] Speaker C: I think so. [00:16:29] Speaker E: And he just sat in front. [00:16:30] Speaker C: Unless you're thinking of I mean, I. [00:16:34] Speaker D: Might be thinking of no, no, I'm looking at a picture of him here. [00:16:38] Speaker E: He's got a Mr. Rogers sweater on, and he's got it's not really curly. [00:16:45] Speaker D: Hair, but it's kind of like a poof. It's like an old grandma poof. [00:16:50] Speaker C: Okay, so this is the OETA guy. [00:16:53] Speaker A: Was the local Oklahoma movie host on the PBS affiliate. [00:16:57] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:16:57] Speaker C: And he had like, not from Oklahoma. [00:17:00] Speaker A: Which was probably most of our listeners. [00:17:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:02] Speaker D: His little studio had there's some that are from Oklahoma. [00:17:05] Speaker B: I know that. Yeah. [00:17:06] Speaker D: His little studio had, like, theater seating in it, and he had this little popcorn bucket. [00:17:10] Speaker B: Man. [00:17:11] Speaker D: That's how I watched Jesus Christ Superstar for the first time. [00:17:15] Speaker E: Johnny. And it's also how I fell asleep. [00:17:18] Speaker D: During Jesus Christ Superstar for the first time. [00:17:22] Speaker A: I used to fall asleep to that show a lot. One of my favorite viewing experiences on. [00:17:27] Speaker C: There was man of a Thousand Faces. [00:17:30] Speaker A: Starring Lon Chaney, Jr. And it was. [00:17:32] Speaker C: About his dad, and it was really good. [00:17:36] Speaker E: Oh, man, here he is looking man. [00:17:40] Speaker D: He was also looking like a little. [00:17:42] Speaker E: Bit like Andre the Giant from Princess. [00:17:45] Speaker D: Bride for a minute there. [00:17:46] Speaker E: Damn. [00:17:47] Speaker C: Yeah, he kind of yeah. [00:17:50] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:17:50] Speaker A: I remember that vividly watching man of a Thousand Faces because I was excited. [00:17:54] Speaker C: Because there's portions of it where it's. [00:17:56] Speaker A: About him making Phantom of the Opera. So you get some of that Phantom. [00:17:59] Speaker C: Of the Opera in there. It's like a biopic. About Lon Chaney Senior Nice. Is that how you say biopic or biopic? [00:18:11] Speaker D: This is a long running argument. [00:18:13] Speaker F: I know. [00:18:15] Speaker D: Technically, both are correct. However, since it is a shortening of. [00:18:19] Speaker E: Biography and picture, it should be biopic. [00:18:22] Speaker D: Because biopic just means that you can. [00:18:24] Speaker E: See with both eyes. [00:18:26] Speaker C: Nice. [00:18:27] Speaker F: Okay. [00:18:28] Speaker C: I was a biopic. [00:18:31] Speaker A: It's my least favorite type of movie. [00:18:34] Speaker D: Oh, me, too. Jeez. [00:18:35] Speaker E: It's, like, the world's favorite favorite type of movie. [00:18:39] Speaker B: I know. [00:18:41] Speaker D: I just don't give a shit, because all of the truth is basically wrung out of the drama that you're showing. [00:18:49] Speaker E: Me in this biopic. [00:18:50] Speaker D: Just give me something that's fully false instead of something that's supposed to be. [00:18:53] Speaker E: True, and it's 90% false. [00:18:55] Speaker A: What do we want to do? Do you want to talk about Spawn's Universe real quick just to get us up to date? What happens real quick or not go through it, obviously. [00:19:03] Speaker C: I don't know if basically the long. [00:19:04] Speaker A: And short of it is Spawn goes. [00:19:05] Speaker C: Back to Omega Island. There's some shit going on there. [00:19:10] Speaker A: Jericho we find out how Cog gets. [00:19:12] Speaker B: Put in that pit. [00:19:13] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:19:14] Speaker C: And we were wondering that we weren't. [00:19:16] Speaker A: We said anyway, go read Spawn's Universe before you read 319, listen the old episode and laugh at how bad we are. [00:19:24] Speaker D: It's very informative. [00:19:25] Speaker E: When we get into 319, Spawns yeah. [00:19:28] Speaker A: We'll probably reference it back to it. We don't need to cover it, though. [00:19:31] Speaker D: Yeah, I think it'll be easier to. [00:19:32] Speaker E: Just reference back to it as we get go along. [00:19:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:35] Speaker A: So, yeah. [00:19:36] Speaker C: 319 from June 2021, gunslinger 23 from August 2023. [00:19:46] Speaker A: So if we're starting on 319, we got to start with the covers. [00:19:49] Speaker C: And David yes, I have two copies. [00:19:52] Speaker A: Of it, and one was a very special cover. [00:19:56] Speaker F: Very special. [00:19:56] Speaker A: You know why? [00:19:57] Speaker E: Because it's Bjorn Baron's favorite cover he's done for Spawn. [00:20:01] Speaker A: No, I do have that cover, though, but I have a different one. Well, let's talk about that first, then. [00:20:06] Speaker C: All right, let's cover Brion Barron's. [00:20:09] Speaker A: He says in the last issue that we read when they had that interview right. [00:20:12] Speaker E: I think it was two issues. [00:20:13] Speaker D: I think it was 317. [00:20:15] Speaker A: Yes, he had that interview because that was the episode that just came out. [00:20:18] Speaker D: Because they were like, what's the favorite thing that you've done? And he's like, ever. [00:20:21] Speaker E: Oh, boy. [00:20:25] Speaker C: Yeah, that's right. But it's clown turning into violator. And it's pretty awesome. [00:20:39] Speaker E: It follows kind of the same format. [00:20:41] Speaker D: Of the classic clown turning into the violator transformation from issue three. [00:20:49] Speaker F: Yes. Yeah. [00:20:50] Speaker E: But just so much more. Just so much more. It's incredible. [00:20:57] Speaker A: You got musco to clown there, too. [00:20:59] Speaker E: Yeah, it's gooey and. [00:21:05] Speaker D: There'S strange hairs in places. It's a trip. [00:21:12] Speaker E: It's a trip. What do you think, Miss Puggy? [00:21:15] Speaker F: What do you think? [00:21:16] Speaker B: That's spooky. [00:21:17] Speaker E: The Pug doesn't like it's really good. [00:21:19] Speaker C: No, it's too scary. [00:21:21] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:21:22] Speaker A: Bjorn Barons. [00:21:22] Speaker C: That's the A cover there. But the special cover I have is technically well, it's a black and white variant, but David, I bought it at. [00:21:32] Speaker A: Graham Cracker Comics the day we went to go see that baseball game. [00:21:34] Speaker E: Oh, hell yeah. [00:21:36] Speaker A: Drunk black and white variant of Cyborg drawn by Todd McFarland. [00:21:40] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:21:42] Speaker A: So I've had that since we went and got really drunk at a baseball game and then went to David's comic book shop. [00:21:48] Speaker C: Graham cracker comics. [00:21:50] Speaker A: I spent, like, $100 on magazines and Spawn stuff. [00:21:53] Speaker B: Yes. [00:21:54] Speaker D: And then went to the Macy's because it's one of the few places downtown. [00:21:57] Speaker E: That'Ll just let you wander in and use the bathroom. [00:22:00] Speaker D: Pro tip, if you're ever in the. [00:22:02] Speaker E: Chicago Loop and you need to go. [00:22:03] Speaker D: To the bathroom, go to the basement. [00:22:05] Speaker E: Of the Macy's on State Street. [00:22:07] Speaker A: You better hurry because it's probably going to close soon. [00:22:10] Speaker E: Oh, boy. [00:22:11] Speaker A: Like all retail. [00:22:13] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:22:13] Speaker B: Kidding. [00:22:14] Speaker F: Kind of. [00:22:15] Speaker A: But yeah. So that's the COVID I have. But that is the black and white variant. So I guess the actual B cover. [00:22:21] Speaker C: Is the color version by Todd McFarlane with Cygor, there kind of with FCO Placentia getting chained. [00:22:30] Speaker A: It's like he's fighting spawn. [00:22:32] Speaker D: It's like he's going to punch somebody. [00:22:33] Speaker C: Yeah, it's like Spawn's on the other end of those chains, probably. [00:22:38] Speaker D: He's got a scar. [00:22:39] Speaker A: Yeah, that's really cool. [00:22:40] Speaker D: Is Frankenstein scar all the way up. [00:22:41] Speaker E: And down his body? [00:22:43] Speaker F: I know. [00:22:44] Speaker C: He's all cut up. His big old monkey belly. And he looks so pained. [00:22:53] Speaker A: Poor Cygor. [00:22:54] Speaker E: Yeah, he always looks so pained. [00:22:58] Speaker D: Johnny, that's literally the character is pain. [00:23:02] Speaker A: I know. He is pain. [00:23:04] Speaker D: He's basically like if you watched Farscape how halfway through, like, the third or fourth season, you realize that the pilot. [00:23:14] Speaker E: Was merged with Moya, the ship that they're in incorrectly and has just been. [00:23:21] Speaker D: In debilitating pain the whole goddamn time. And so they spend a whole episode. [00:23:27] Speaker E: Of the television show just being, like. [00:23:30] Speaker D: Going to a doctor to get them to surgically remove the pilot and then reinstall the pilot so that way they're no longer in pain. [00:23:38] Speaker F: It's wild. It's wild, Johnny. [00:23:39] Speaker D: That's why the pilot was such a butthole. [00:23:42] Speaker E: Sometimes just always in pain. [00:23:44] Speaker F: Oh, farscape. [00:23:46] Speaker A: There you go. [00:23:46] Speaker E: Farscape. [00:23:47] Speaker D: Great. [00:23:47] Speaker A: There's also another cover by Francesco Mattina. [00:23:52] Speaker F: Yep, yep, yep, yep. [00:23:53] Speaker C: Which is like Spawn kind of grasping. [00:23:56] Speaker E: It is also in black and white. [00:23:58] Speaker C: It is also in black and white. [00:23:59] Speaker D: With a little bit of green. [00:24:00] Speaker A: Except for the eyes, I think, right? [00:24:01] Speaker D: Yeah, except for the eyes. [00:24:02] Speaker E: I'm looking at it right now on my digital edition. [00:24:08] Speaker A: The digital digital hoopla has all the covers in the back. [00:24:10] Speaker D: Yes, it does. [00:24:11] Speaker C: That's cool. [00:24:12] Speaker D: It's really cool. [00:24:13] Speaker E: Because on the matina cover, it's Al Simmons reaching out with his hands, and. [00:24:20] Speaker D: There are, like, chains coming out of his knuckles. [00:24:23] Speaker E: It's wild. [00:24:27] Speaker C: Yeah, that looks cool. [00:24:29] Speaker E: That's some cool shit. [00:24:30] Speaker B: Cool shit. [00:24:32] Speaker C: So this is the covers. [00:24:33] Speaker A: I got two of them. So happy to have that. Black and white. [00:24:36] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:24:37] Speaker C: I drunkenly bought. [00:24:41] Speaker E: And who says alcohol impairs your decision making, Johnny? It's a good decision. [00:24:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:50] Speaker A: Those are the covers there. Pop this sucker open. Oh, but there's something else. Oh, God, David, there's so much about these covers. [00:24:56] Speaker B: What's that? [00:24:56] Speaker A: There's something else special about this cover. [00:24:58] Speaker F: What's that? [00:24:58] Speaker E: It's got pizza on it? [00:25:00] Speaker D: No, you used it as a napkin. [00:25:02] Speaker A: But if it did, it wouldn't be that bad because it's the first of the cardstock covers. [00:25:06] Speaker E: Oh, hell yeah. [00:25:08] Speaker A: This is the issue where they switched to the cardstock. So we know now that is the. [00:25:15] Speaker C: 1319, right after Spawn's Universe. [00:25:19] Speaker A: That's where they switch. [00:25:20] Speaker D: It's a key issue. [00:25:22] Speaker A: It's a key issue. Cardstock. [00:25:26] Speaker B: Swing. [00:25:28] Speaker C: I don't need to say it. [00:25:28] Speaker A: I can put in the sound effect. [00:25:30] Speaker D: But now that you did it, you. [00:25:31] Speaker E: Should leave it in there. [00:25:33] Speaker A: I'll play the sound effect and I'll. [00:25:35] Speaker D: Say at the same time. And then you'll leave all of this. [00:25:39] Speaker C: Not the first cardstock. [00:25:42] Speaker A: I can slap this baby around. [00:25:44] Speaker C: I was so nervous with a stupid. [00:25:46] Speaker A: We'Ve been in, like they're all expensive. They're worth, like, $20. They're worried. Paper thin paper. I was so nervous reading all those issues from, like, 300 till now. [00:25:53] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:25:54] Speaker A: Now I'm no longer nervous. [00:25:55] Speaker D: It's like reading Paul Revere's Bible or something. You feel like you got to get the gloves. Although apparently you got to get the gloves out. Apparently, there is a strain of historical librarian who says that wearing the gloves is actually just fucking stupid. [00:26:09] Speaker E: So it's actually better for the books. [00:26:11] Speaker D: To absorb a little bit of oil from time to time because it helps keep the pages nice and moist. Don't just go around fondling old books. [00:26:22] Speaker E: Without somebody there to they need my oil. It's like going wailing. You got to get the oil from that whale. But if that whale just shows up. [00:26:35] Speaker D: And tries to give you its oil, it's like, what the fuck is this? [00:26:38] Speaker E: Get away from me. [00:26:39] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:26:39] Speaker E: Whale oil. Moby Dick. [00:26:41] Speaker A: John whale oil. [00:26:42] Speaker E: Moby Dick. [00:26:43] Speaker A: So we pop this beautiful cardstock cover open. [00:26:47] Speaker D: It's so thick you can hear it creaking like a door in a spooky haunted house. [00:26:56] Speaker C: Like a support swing on Evil Dead. [00:27:01] Speaker A: But yeah, you open it up, we got the world record breaking comic. [00:27:03] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:27:04] Speaker D: Spawn the Todd father is sassy. [00:27:06] Speaker E: Johnny well, he says if he puts. [00:27:09] Speaker A: On the COVID he'd be feeling sassy. [00:27:11] Speaker C: And he does occasionally. [00:27:13] Speaker E: Yeah, he does. [00:27:16] Speaker A: So we got Tod McFarlane on script. [00:27:18] Speaker C: Plot, carlo Barberi on art. [00:27:23] Speaker A: These are the usual suspects, the last few little bit here tom Wajakowski on. [00:27:28] Speaker C: Lettering and Java Day Ramos on yep, yep, yep. We covered the covers. [00:27:35] Speaker B: Yes, sure did. [00:27:37] Speaker C: And then we got Tod McFarland as creative director and Thomas Healy as editor. [00:27:42] Speaker E: Editor, which not Editor in Chief yet, which strange. [00:27:48] Speaker D: And he's not Editor in chief in. [00:27:50] Speaker E: Sponsor universe number one either. [00:27:53] Speaker C: A little bit soon. [00:27:53] Speaker A: We got to keep our eyes peeled. [00:27:55] Speaker E: Keep them peeled like those peeled grapes. [00:27:58] Speaker D: That you are going to use as. [00:28:01] Speaker E: A bowl of eyes at your little. [00:28:03] Speaker D: Haunted house that you're going to have. [00:28:04] Speaker A: Yeah, you put your hand in there. [00:28:05] Speaker C: And it's like, OOH, spooky, guys. [00:28:08] Speaker D: It feels like cold spaghetti. [00:28:10] Speaker A: Previously in Spawn previously the world of Spawn's Universe has blown open. After barely surviving a second trip to Omega spawn's Tropical island, al has realized that there are even more shadow players than he thought. Who is Jericho and what are his plans for Cygor? Yeah, I didn't realize that Jericho was like a new character. [00:28:33] Speaker E: Yeah, me either. [00:28:35] Speaker C: I assume he'd been around for a bit, I guess. [00:28:37] Speaker B: Johnny the more you know. [00:28:42] Speaker A: But we also might find out that he's not a new character and this is just mistaken in the recap. [00:28:47] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:28:47] Speaker D: And then we'll find out that he actually showed up in Rad Alley in like issue twelve or something. [00:28:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:53] Speaker A: And he's like, Hi, it's me, Jericho, I'll see you later. [00:28:58] Speaker E: He says, remember me? [00:29:00] Speaker B: Yes. [00:29:01] Speaker A: A spawn in spawn's universe. Goes on a little adventure. Back to Omega Island with Saigor. [00:29:05] Speaker C: Saigor gets kidnapped and Cog becomes Sin. [00:29:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:12] Speaker C: And we find out why Cog was in that hole. [00:29:16] Speaker A: They address his appearance change and his decapitation. So it kind of just ties a. [00:29:20] Speaker C: Nice little end on all those questions we've been wondering for a bit. We open up in Italy. [00:29:27] Speaker E: That looks a beautiful place. Johnny I'd go there. [00:29:32] Speaker C: Yeah, it looks awesome. [00:29:34] Speaker D: I'd drink some wine overlooking the Mediterranean. [00:29:37] Speaker E: In one of those houses. You bet your sweet bippy. [00:29:41] Speaker C: And then you got like the restaurant where there's just tables on the sidewalk. How romantic. [00:29:46] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:29:47] Speaker E: Right next to the motorbikes that obviously. [00:29:50] Speaker D: Will drive by the tables and you'll just get all face full of exhaust. [00:29:54] Speaker C: Johnny yeah, but that's what they do it in Europe. [00:29:57] Speaker E: I'm not a big fan of outside. [00:30:03] Speaker D: Like so eating outside at a ballpark, fine. [00:30:07] Speaker E: Eating a sandwich while you're walking down the sidewalk, fine. [00:30:10] Speaker D: Eating at a restaurant that has you sit outside. Why the fuck are we doing this? [00:30:15] Speaker E: If I wanted a picnic, I'd buy the food and go to a goddamn park. [00:30:19] Speaker A: People fucking love it, man. [00:30:21] Speaker C: I'll tell you what. [00:30:21] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't get it either. I don't eat outside. [00:30:24] Speaker E: People love patio season, and I just don't get it. I like a bar. Yeah, because the tables are always fucking disgusting. [00:30:32] Speaker D: It's never very nice outside. [00:30:35] Speaker E: You have to deal with infinitely more flies. [00:30:37] Speaker D: Your fat ass taken up the sidewalk. [00:30:40] Speaker E: That people need to walk. [00:30:42] Speaker D: They changed the rules for COVID times for people to expand restaurants into the sidewalks in the city of Chicago. [00:30:49] Speaker E: And it's the worst fucking thing in the world. [00:30:55] Speaker D: I'm going to name names. Johnny francis's Diner in Lincoln Park needs. [00:31:00] Speaker E: To fucking get off the goddamn sidewalk. [00:31:03] Speaker D: They take up the whole sidewalk. They try to make it accessible by having ramps that go into the street. [00:31:09] Speaker E: Through the parking to have a replacement sidewalk. But A, the ramps are shitty plastic. [00:31:17] Speaker D: Not nailed down, and not useful for. [00:31:19] Speaker E: Anybody who needs to use a ramp. [00:31:22] Speaker F: Damn. [00:31:23] Speaker E: Just get tables off the goddamn sidewalk. [00:31:26] Speaker D: Accessibility is more important than your ability. [00:31:28] Speaker E: To eat French toast outside. [00:31:30] Speaker F: Damn. Damn. [00:31:32] Speaker E: Yeah. OOH, that felt real good. That felt real good. Fuck Francis's. You come to Chicago. Don't go to Francis's daily. [00:31:40] Speaker D: Just give him the stink. [00:31:41] Speaker B: Italy. [00:31:43] Speaker A: Make sure to go to Cantina del Roma. [00:31:45] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:31:45] Speaker A: This local place that we find ourselves. [00:31:47] Speaker C: In in this Spawn comic. [00:31:51] Speaker D: Are you sure? [00:31:52] Speaker A: Spadillo, the restaurant's kind owner? [00:31:54] Speaker E: Are you sure? To go to Cantina del Roma? [00:31:57] Speaker D: Johnny maybe you should also avoid Cantina del Roma. [00:32:00] Speaker F: We're going to find out. [00:32:01] Speaker C: You should probably avoid it. [00:32:03] Speaker D: That guy seems hella nice. But Gino's super nice. [00:32:07] Speaker A: He's sending fruit baskets and shit to gift baskets to his employees parents when they go on vacation. He's just really nice dude. He's like, giving away free glasses of wine. [00:32:18] Speaker C: So maybe not the best business owner. [00:32:22] Speaker A: You want to charge for your stuff. [00:32:24] Speaker E: Definitely good with hospitality. [00:32:26] Speaker A: Great with hospitality. [00:32:27] Speaker E: At least when the world is looking. [00:32:30] Speaker D: Although although I guess now that I think about it, he does say that there's a reason that he does things. [00:32:35] Speaker E: So maybe do go to Cantina del Roma. [00:32:39] Speaker A: He says he'll do anything. He'll be a waiter, cook, bartender, will. [00:32:42] Speaker C: Take on any task. [00:32:43] Speaker A: He's a good he's watched a lot of Bar Rescue. He knows he's got to be versatile as a manager. [00:32:47] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:32:49] Speaker D: He flirts with the old ladies. He sets young couples up like he's like, this is going to be romantic as fuck. [00:32:57] Speaker E: You all. [00:33:02] Speaker A: He has his chef add special touches, which might be, I don't know, human blood. [00:33:06] Speaker E: We'll find then and then when he goes down the stairs, he turns sinister. Look at this. [00:33:14] Speaker D: That's like the most sinister walking downstairs I've seen in a while. [00:33:17] Speaker F: Johnny I know. [00:33:18] Speaker A: He's all backlit and, like, scary. [00:33:20] Speaker E: Johnny even more sinister. He ain't got no art in those frames. Those are just empty frames on the. [00:33:28] Speaker D: That'S like that's like when you watch a television show and they put somebody in glasses, and there are clearly no fucking lenses in those glasses. Nothing pisses me off more than fake. [00:33:35] Speaker E: Glasses on a television show. [00:33:37] Speaker C: Johnny oh, wow. [00:33:39] Speaker E: I understand that you're trying to avoid glare, but fucking no. [00:33:45] Speaker C: Maybe the character wears fake glasses, which is even worse. [00:33:48] Speaker E: Don't wear fake fucking glasses. Wear them for a reason. All of us that wear them would rather not wear them. [00:33:57] Speaker A: It's true. [00:33:58] Speaker C: It's true. [00:33:59] Speaker F: Some nonsense. [00:34:00] Speaker E: It's some nonsense, but it's down there. He's looking at his impressive wine collection, and he hears some stuff in a hidden room behind one of the wrecks. [00:34:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:12] Speaker A: No wonder he didn't want this kid. [00:34:13] Speaker C: Looking for that wine down there. And there's people tied up. [00:34:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:21] Speaker E: Like, not even tied up. Chained to the wall, chained up, they say. [00:34:25] Speaker D: Johnny they say, if this is torture, chain me to the wall. What is that from? That's from Oliver and company. [00:34:35] Speaker A: Oh, of course. Everyone's favorite Billy Joel Disney musical. [00:34:42] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:34:43] Speaker E: Oh, why should I worry? [00:34:46] Speaker B: Why should I care? [00:34:49] Speaker A: So there's a dude and a lady tied up or chained up, and she's like, I'm thirsty. I need water. [00:34:54] Speaker C: And then it was a big dick move. He just dumps a bunch of wine. [00:34:57] Speaker D: On, like, I have none. Would you like wine instead? [00:35:03] Speaker A: And then all of a sudden, the candles go out and it's dark. We know what that means. [00:35:07] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:35:08] Speaker E: Shadow blasting. [00:35:09] Speaker C: Boom, bam. [00:35:11] Speaker D: Shadow blasting. [00:35:11] Speaker E: To know Al Simmons has been shadow blasting to Germany a lot, he thought. [00:35:17] Speaker D: That he needed to see the sea a little bit more, so he's decided to shadow blast to Germany, or to Italy this time. [00:35:22] Speaker A: And you hear the clank of the anxious chains. And then Spawn says, Turn around, Gino. And this dude's like, oh. [00:35:31] Speaker E: Now that. [00:35:31] Speaker D: I think about johnny strong choice for the Todd father to not call it Gino's Cantina. [00:35:41] Speaker E: Right. Because there's a Genos fucking everywhere. [00:35:44] Speaker D: There's always a geno. Everywhere you go, there's an Elm Street and a Genos. [00:35:48] Speaker E: And then Spawn's just asking for some files. [00:35:51] Speaker C: He got some files. [00:35:52] Speaker D: Told you. [00:35:52] Speaker A: In the year of our Lord 2021, when this is written, he's asking for files. [00:35:56] Speaker E: Someone lied. [00:35:59] Speaker D: I like how Al's? Like, not the way I ask questions. [00:36:04] Speaker F: Oh, boy. [00:36:05] Speaker A: His vampire friends sold him out. So this wine dude is a vampire? [00:36:08] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:36:09] Speaker E: And on cue, he vamps out and starts rushing. Spawn punches him right in the face, kicks him in the tummy. He's got some nice loafers. He's doing well for himself. Mr. Gino. [00:36:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:25] Speaker A: I mean, the restaurant's successful, even though he's giving away the wine to everybody. I guess it is successful. [00:36:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:30] Speaker A: Shockingly. Shockingly. [00:36:31] Speaker D: Johnny and we get another bottom of. [00:36:34] Speaker E: The big right foot. [00:36:36] Speaker D: It's another rare instance of seeing the. [00:36:38] Speaker C: Bottom of the foot, but this one. [00:36:40] Speaker A: Is just a full it's a full thing. [00:36:42] Speaker D: Yeah, it's full flat instead of being the foot with extra around it. [00:36:45] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:36:46] Speaker C: Yeah, interesting. [00:36:47] Speaker B: Okay. [00:36:49] Speaker F: Interesting. [00:36:50] Speaker C: Carlo Barberius bottom of his foot evolves. [00:36:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:54] Speaker C: And then he's like yeah. [00:36:58] Speaker D: Gino's, like, taunting him. [00:36:59] Speaker A: Taunting him. [00:37:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:37:02] Speaker D: And then Spawn does the thing you think I'm hurt? Lots of questions. Always asked all the time. [00:37:11] Speaker E: You think I'm hurt? That's all it takes, one punch to the face. [00:37:17] Speaker A: He realizes. I like how he now realizes, like, oh, this must be that Spawn guy. Spawn. Not when he just comes in there looking all crazy. He's like, he's a vampire. That's just a normal thing. I mean, maybe you think they would demons and stuff all the time. [00:37:30] Speaker D: They would at least have, like, a dossier or, like, a picture of this is a Hell Spawn. Avoid these. Like, you'd think maybe they'd have, like, big red cape, like a version of the Spawn Hunter's Guide from issue number. [00:37:42] Speaker E: Nine, where it's just like, this is. [00:37:45] Speaker D: What Spawns have looked like throughout the years. So if you see anybody that kind of looks like this red and black. [00:37:50] Speaker E: Chain spikes, just stay away. [00:37:53] Speaker D: All those elements. Yeah. [00:37:55] Speaker E: He's going to be a hell spawn. [00:37:56] Speaker A: And Spawn again says someone lied. [00:37:59] Speaker E: Yeah, well, he uses Gino's words against him, which is nice. I like that. [00:38:04] Speaker F: I like nice. [00:38:05] Speaker A: Oh, that's what it is. [00:38:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:06] Speaker D: The Symbiote starts turning the cape into a set of wings. [00:38:11] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:38:12] Speaker C: It's like papa for some reason. [00:38:15] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:38:17] Speaker A: Papa from Ghost has a bat wing cape. [00:38:20] Speaker D: Papa doesn't have the nice, like, spiky epileps, though. Look at those. [00:38:23] Speaker A: Those are pretty no, it's true. [00:38:24] Speaker D: Shoulder cap true. [00:38:25] Speaker C: That is cool. [00:38:26] Speaker E: And we learned that the Symbiote Spawn has some vampire blood in it. [00:38:32] Speaker D: So this is basically the Symbiote being like, hey, now I can't be racist. [00:38:37] Speaker E: Against vampires because I got some vampires in me, too. [00:38:43] Speaker A: Exactly. That's why it turned into, like, bat wings. It was, like, vampire time. [00:38:48] Speaker E: Yeah, vampire time. [00:38:50] Speaker A: That's something we already knew. That was set up earlier. [00:38:53] Speaker D: Yeah, Johnny, you know what? [00:38:54] Speaker E: I totally forgot. [00:38:55] Speaker A: No, it's set up not, like, recently. I think it's, like, set up a long time ago. It might be in that blood feud thing. It might be in that Alan Moore written thing. [00:39:05] Speaker F: Nice. [00:39:06] Speaker A: He loves to take tiny concepts that. [00:39:08] Speaker C: Alan Moore comes up with and use them forever. [00:39:11] Speaker D: I mean, if Alan Moore gave me. [00:39:14] Speaker E: Like, three sentences, I would fucking run. [00:39:18] Speaker D: Those three sentences into the. [00:39:22] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:39:22] Speaker C: I'm not saying nothing. He's the creator of vinny. [00:39:26] Speaker A: Vindicator, baby, we're the five fleabiac brothers. [00:39:30] Speaker E: Oh, Vinny dressing up in dressing up in children's flesh. Yeah. [00:39:36] Speaker C: And Spawn's, like, kicking his ass, like. [00:39:39] Speaker A: Flipping the script on him just like he did by saying someone lied. Only Spawn really beats the shit out of this guy. [00:39:45] Speaker E: He gives him a ha and a haya and a whoo. [00:39:49] Speaker B: Wow. [00:39:50] Speaker E: And then he kicks her, sir, right into the wall. [00:39:55] Speaker F: Oh, man. [00:39:56] Speaker C: He's asked for this file. [00:39:59] Speaker F: Oh, boy. [00:40:00] Speaker A: He does the worst thing you can do to a vampire. The final insult, he rips his fangs out. [00:40:05] Speaker E: Yeah, I believe you've lost your fangs. Now you going to fucking tell me what I want. [00:40:11] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:40:13] Speaker E: Angry f bomb dropping Al Simmons is great. [00:40:18] Speaker D: Not surprisingly, Johnny Spawn gets his answers. [00:40:24] Speaker A: He just throws him in there, but doesn't even save these people. [00:40:26] Speaker D: It's just like he throws them in there. And then the chained up people are like, please save us. And Al drops much like the gap. [00:40:35] Speaker A: Huge bombshell. [00:40:36] Speaker E: He drops a bomb on them. [00:40:39] Speaker D: These people are just going around to Syrian villages murdering all of the children. [00:40:46] Speaker A: Five villages? [00:40:48] Speaker E: Absolutely. Fuck these people. [00:40:50] Speaker A: What the hell is going on here that this vampire had these Syrian killers trapped with him? [00:40:56] Speaker C: I don't know. [00:41:00] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:41:00] Speaker A: I like it, though. [00:41:01] Speaker D: That's pretty cool. And so he just like, necroplies huge bombshell. [00:41:05] Speaker A: And you're like, damn, okay. [00:41:08] Speaker C: Wild seals the door shut forever. [00:41:11] Speaker A: So they're all just going to die in there? [00:41:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:13] Speaker A: Then he goes, Gino might live, though, because he's a vampire. So he can eat both of them and live for a long time. [00:41:18] Speaker C: And maybe he can get out. [00:41:20] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:41:21] Speaker D: He'll just be really to Tim Robbins his way out. [00:41:26] Speaker E: Like in Shawshank. [00:41:28] Speaker F: Yep. [00:41:29] Speaker A: And then he'll be like Nick Cage and Renfield and just like really old and weak. And he'll have to get back to. [00:41:35] Speaker D: You know, he'll he'll eat some people. [00:41:37] Speaker E: And that'll help who's got those two people. [00:41:39] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:41:40] Speaker A: He can kind of save. [00:41:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:42] Speaker A: As long as he goes slow with them. [00:41:45] Speaker C: He probably just wishes he had some wine in there. [00:41:47] Speaker D: Yeah, probably. [00:41:48] Speaker E: Although I'm sure everyone that works at. [00:41:49] Speaker A: That restaurant is going to be confused as fuck because he just disappeared one day. [00:41:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:53] Speaker C: Table five never got their wine that. [00:41:54] Speaker A: He went down there for. [00:41:55] Speaker C: That's the part that disturbs me. [00:41:58] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:41:58] Speaker E: I mean, there goes their Yelp score. [00:42:03] Speaker A: Zero. They're going to get a one star. They never brought our wine. Then the guy was sealed. The guy was a vampire and sealed himself into the basement. Zero stars. [00:42:14] Speaker D: It was like Cask of a Montiado. [00:42:16] Speaker E: Only not as fucking cool. I didn't get any food. [00:42:22] Speaker C: And we were eating on the patio. [00:42:24] Speaker A: And we were getting all harassed by motorcycles. [00:42:27] Speaker D: I just thought of a better way to phrase that, Johnny. It's like the Cask of a Montiato, except for I'm the fool, but not. [00:42:33] Speaker E: Locked into the wall. Fucking I failed. I failed you. [00:42:40] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:42:40] Speaker D: So then Spawn goes over and looks. [00:42:42] Speaker E: At the special wine section and just he sabers it open with his fist. [00:42:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:42:49] Speaker A: He just goes, slice. [00:42:51] Speaker E: There's a nice little skeleton key in there now. [00:42:56] Speaker D: Looking key, if you allow the flight of fancy Johnny. [00:43:00] Speaker E: In the series Lock and Key, there. [00:43:04] Speaker D: Are keys made of metal that are. [00:43:06] Speaker E: Basically evil spirits that have come into. [00:43:10] Speaker D: Our world, and they immediately turn into. [00:43:12] Speaker E: A special kind of iron upon entering our world. And then this family, the Locke family. [00:43:18] Speaker D: Fashioned that iron into keys that had magical properties. [00:43:21] Speaker E: Like you could put the key in the back of somebody's head and open. [00:43:27] Speaker D: It up and fuck around with their memories. [00:43:29] Speaker C: Yeah, I read the first tray paper. [00:43:30] Speaker E: Back of that, just looking at this key. [00:43:35] Speaker D: So all the keys are designed in a way to kind of lead you to what they're going to do. Like, the head key is shaped like a head, the giant key is shaped. [00:43:43] Speaker E: Like a giant, et cetera, et cetera. Based on the shape of this key, what do you think is going to happen? [00:43:49] Speaker C: I'm going to grow boobs. [00:43:52] Speaker F: I don't know. [00:43:52] Speaker A: What do you think? [00:43:53] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:43:54] Speaker D: I think maybe it'll put a nice little domino mask on you, so that. [00:43:57] Speaker C: Way it'll be your oh, yeah, there you go. [00:44:00] Speaker A: It'll be your could do that. [00:44:02] Speaker D: It'll be your disguise when you go do some beat them ups against bad guys. [00:44:06] Speaker A: No, what it's gonna do is open. [00:44:07] Speaker C: This box where the files are. [00:44:10] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:44:10] Speaker E: This box that's hidden under the it's it's the Tale Heart. [00:44:15] Speaker D: And then it's got inside of it the omnibus of Grant Morrison's, invisibles. And Al just sits down and starts. [00:44:22] Speaker E: Reading himself a 25 year old comic book series. [00:44:26] Speaker D: And he's like, no, it says pretty good on it's. [00:44:28] Speaker C: Not the trade paperback. [00:44:30] Speaker A: It's a file. [00:44:31] Speaker D: It's the galley proofs. Johnny they don't have the final cover on it yet. [00:44:37] Speaker C: No. [00:44:39] Speaker A: Secret loyal. I guess it says invisibles on it. [00:44:42] Speaker C: Because it's like all the secret shadow players. [00:44:46] Speaker A: Loyal agents. [00:44:48] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:44:51] Speaker E: And then we cut to New York City. [00:44:52] Speaker D: New York. [00:44:53] Speaker C: Johnny oh, look at this apartment. [00:44:55] Speaker A: There's beer cans, there's pizza. [00:44:57] Speaker D: I thought those were really nasty cigars. [00:44:59] Speaker E: On the table, but they're pizza crusts. [00:45:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I thought that actually thought the exact same thing. I was like, David, it's not the 90s anymore, okay? [00:45:06] Speaker C: Yeah, you can't have Sam smoking. [00:45:08] Speaker D: I really like the little table for. [00:45:11] Speaker E: The middle of the box that's in there. [00:45:12] Speaker D: To keep the cheese from sticking to the lid. [00:45:15] Speaker C: You got to have the wonderful, wonderful little detail. Yeah, I thought it was a cigar. [00:45:21] Speaker A: Too, but no, it's not 1997 anymore. [00:45:24] Speaker F: No. [00:45:24] Speaker C: We turn the page. [00:45:25] Speaker A: There's our man, Sam. [00:45:26] Speaker E: Yeah, he's sleeping on his couch, probably. [00:45:29] Speaker A: In front of the TV, I imagine. [00:45:30] Speaker C: Probably his gun's next to him. Man some pizza and some beer. [00:45:38] Speaker E: And then Spawn sneaks up on him. [00:45:40] Speaker D: And Sam's immediately awake and grabs his. [00:45:43] Speaker E: Gun and says, freeze, motherfucker. [00:45:45] Speaker C: He's got this great it's a his. [00:45:49] Speaker E: Bedhead is pretty great. Yeah, it, uh hello, Sam. Don't you hello me. [00:45:58] Speaker D: I was about to blow your head off, you dumbass. [00:46:04] Speaker A: It's just Spawn being spawned. He's just, like, coming in the middle of the night to ask him where. Are you kidding? Me. Let's give a fucking heart attack. [00:46:13] Speaker D: Yeah, he's like, he's on vacation, numb nuts. I love how Sam's like the only person to talk back to Spawn in this manner. And Spawn's just like, eh, whatever. [00:46:26] Speaker B: Took. [00:46:26] Speaker D: His family with him. [00:46:27] Speaker E: That's what real humans did. [00:46:29] Speaker A: And so basically he's going to give. [00:46:30] Speaker C: This file to Twitch because he's going. [00:46:32] Speaker A: To follow the non human leads. And he wants Twitch to follow up. [00:46:34] Speaker C: On the more human things side of things. [00:46:38] Speaker A: I like how it's things like that. [00:46:40] Speaker D: Instead of just asking Sam to do. [00:46:41] Speaker E: It, he's like, I need Twitch to. [00:46:43] Speaker C: Do yeah, I know. [00:46:45] Speaker F: Give me to Twitch. [00:46:46] Speaker C: And he's like, oh, whatever, fine. [00:46:51] Speaker D: It's a good thing Sam thinks that part of the job is boring. [00:46:53] Speaker B: So yeah, Sam's just there to. [00:46:59] Speaker A: Bluster. [00:46:59] Speaker C: Around and do the action. [00:47:03] Speaker E: Then we cut to Cygor and chains again. [00:47:08] Speaker C: Cygor and chains again. [00:47:10] Speaker A: I guess we dropped that whole plotline of Cygor getting tortured at Spawn's hideout. [00:47:16] Speaker C: Remember that one paneling, Cygor? [00:47:21] Speaker D: And then he takes Cygor with him. [00:47:22] Speaker E: To Omega Islands too. Boy Cygor is just going through it. [00:47:27] Speaker C: Johnny I know he's going through it. [00:47:31] Speaker E: So they got him in the back of a putting him back in a trailer. [00:47:37] Speaker D: And Jericho says, yes, this time Spawn. [00:47:40] Speaker E: Will fall right into our trap. [00:47:42] Speaker C: Yes, they're going to lure Spawn out. [00:47:45] Speaker D: Man, there's some great detail on this. [00:47:47] Speaker E: Fucking cargo truck though. It's amazing. [00:47:49] Speaker D: Carlo Barberry's art is awesome. [00:47:51] Speaker E: Johnny totally. [00:47:54] Speaker D: So we got Jericho on the phone. [00:47:56] Speaker E: With a shadowy bad guy boss who's. [00:48:00] Speaker D: Getting some weird injections and getting some. [00:48:03] Speaker E: Altered oxygen tanks to keep him alive. Monkey's getting ornery. [00:48:15] Speaker D: So we got to put some gas. [00:48:16] Speaker E: On him, but put a gas mask. [00:48:19] Speaker A: On him and pump him full of. [00:48:21] Speaker C: Some kind of, like, smoke. [00:48:22] Speaker E: Prepare the gas. Subject needs calming and yet psychor. [00:48:28] Speaker D: He's allergic to this particular gas. [00:48:30] Speaker A: Johnny and he starts yeah, allergies. [00:48:32] Speaker C: You would have said nerve gas. You would have said sleepy time gas. [00:48:37] Speaker D: It's like on the drug commercials. It's don't take this drug if you are specifically allergic to this drug. [00:48:43] Speaker E: And it's like, okay, how do I. [00:48:47] Speaker D: Know if I'm allergic to this drug. [00:48:48] Speaker A: Unless I take this gas? If you are a giant gorilla that is fused with the man, that's the mind of a scientist. [00:48:56] Speaker D: They obviously didn't listen to the sped up portion of the end of the radio advertisement. [00:49:01] Speaker F: Oh, yeah. [00:49:02] Speaker A: We're just going to like, if you take this too much, you will die. And if you don't do this, you will do this. [00:49:10] Speaker B: Then. [00:49:10] Speaker D: So Cygor just starts going fucking crazy. [00:49:12] Speaker E: And he's swinging a god ape. [00:49:15] Speaker D: He bites this dude's arm off. He throws this other guy into the wall. [00:49:21] Speaker C: He's like swimming around inside the truck. [00:49:23] Speaker A: So he's like knocking back and forth to get it off balance. [00:49:25] Speaker E: Yeah, trailer crashes. And then once the trailer crashes, batman. [00:49:33] Speaker D: Swoops in in his green cape. But this is guns ablazing. [00:49:37] Speaker E: Batman. So it's like, what? Earth 27? Batman will say that's. [00:49:42] Speaker A: Not Batman. It says it right there. [00:49:47] Speaker E: It says, Batman made of flesh and bones. [00:49:51] Speaker D: And he says, These are my hammers of justice. [00:49:54] Speaker A: It says Soul Crusher. Why do you think he's Batman? [00:49:58] Speaker D: Soul Crusher swoops in. [00:50:00] Speaker E: I was trying to let you do. [00:50:02] Speaker D: The reveal for it, Johnny. So it could be super dramatic because. [00:50:07] Speaker A: Look at that super dramatic text. I know you hellspot or a Soul Crusher. [00:50:10] Speaker D: Tomo is treating us real nicely. [00:50:12] Speaker E: Right? [00:50:15] Speaker D: So and then we see. This has to be the old man that Jericho was on the phone with because there's an altered air oxygen tank. [00:50:24] Speaker E: On the back there. [00:50:25] Speaker C: Yeah, it totally is. [00:50:26] Speaker A: And we know that he's old. [00:50:28] Speaker C: Yeah, at least until Scorched until Sergey becomes him. [00:50:34] Speaker E: It's time to let a human have a chance, Johnny. The Clarion call has been sent. [00:50:39] Speaker F: There he is. [00:50:40] Speaker A: Soul Crusher. He's all doped up on stuff. [00:50:42] Speaker D: Yeah, we got Cygor Fist coming through. [00:50:45] Speaker E: The shipping container there. Oh, boy. [00:50:49] Speaker D: A great final image for this issue. [00:50:52] Speaker E: And then we got some Power meter, Johnny. We got 0366. [00:50:59] Speaker B: Yes. [00:51:01] Speaker E: Then we got the interview with Todd McFarland by you. [00:51:07] Speaker A: Spawning Ground Presents the Breakdown interview with. [00:51:09] Speaker E: Tod McFarland It's just by you questions. [00:51:14] Speaker D: That readers have submitted. [00:51:16] Speaker E: The Todd father answers them. My favorite is so, a couple of highlights, Johnny. [00:51:26] Speaker D: They mentioned here in an issue before we started reading Spawn for the podcast. Will we know more about characters like. [00:51:32] Speaker E: The Freak and the Curse, who we. [00:51:36] Speaker D: Thought was a brand new character. [00:51:39] Speaker F: Long. [00:51:40] Speaker D: After we should have known better? Somebody asks if the art of Spawn statues will come back, and Tod father says, yes. [00:51:49] Speaker F: That's awesome. [00:51:50] Speaker E: Hell yeah. [00:51:51] Speaker D: I really like the what's your writing process like? And the Tod father says, way more issue to issue. Most full time writers would be horrified by my process. I know my editor, Thomas, is I. [00:52:08] Speaker A: Have a theory or I have a thesis about that issue to issue with some interesting retcons in Gunslinger, there's just, like, one line that really doesn't jive. [00:52:16] Speaker C: With the previous issue. [00:52:18] Speaker A: Also, hey, see, you got to do issue to issue, baby. [00:52:21] Speaker D: See for evidence. [00:52:23] Speaker E: Monkey torture. Monkey torture. [00:52:26] Speaker A: This is where we get our opening quote from this interview because someone asked him what his favorite story arc is. He says he doesn't have a favorite. [00:52:32] Speaker C: Arc, that he likes to think his. [00:52:34] Speaker A: Best works ahead of him, and that's how he got to 319. [00:52:36] Speaker D: It's a very Tod father deflection from having to actually make a decision. [00:52:43] Speaker E: I love it. There's a question asked here that is. [00:52:49] Speaker D: Also asked in an issue that either came out this week or last week. And it's is there a chance for all of Sam and Twitch to be collected in compendium. [00:52:56] Speaker E: So this has been asked multiple times. [00:53:00] Speaker D: And answered publicly in this forum of the spawning grounds. [00:53:03] Speaker E: So, Johnny, we need to keep our eye out for a Salmon Twitch compendium. [00:53:07] Speaker C: We sure. [00:53:09] Speaker B: Yep. [00:53:10] Speaker A: Well, what's interesting that's what I was going to look up real quick, because. [00:53:12] Speaker C: It says the latest to do with. [00:53:15] Speaker A: Salmon twitch and Hollywood. [00:53:16] Speaker D: Well, that was the and. [00:53:20] Speaker A: Oh, you. [00:53:21] Speaker D: Know, since most television is made in. [00:53:23] Speaker E: Hollywood now, hollywood doesn't specifically just mean movies anymore. [00:53:28] Speaker C: So there's a rumor that there was. [00:53:30] Speaker A: A salmon twitch show in the works from McFarland. [00:53:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:53:35] Speaker C: But hey, there you go. [00:53:38] Speaker A: I don't think it came to fruition. [00:53:40] Speaker C: But also a lot of crazy stuff. [00:53:41] Speaker A: Happened during the pandemic, and entertainment is. [00:53:43] Speaker D: Wild because from The Hollywood Reporter, on. [00:53:46] Speaker E: June 10, 2021 09:14, a.m. Tod McFarland developing Salmon Twitch TV show. [00:53:53] Speaker C: Hope he gets one of these projects going. [00:53:54] Speaker A: It sounds like the Spawn movie is still happening. Jason Bloom was in an interview, like, last week being like, yep, it's happening. [00:53:59] Speaker E: Yeah, apparently there was right before the writer strike started. [00:54:05] Speaker D: They were like 20 pages away from finishing the script. And so since the writer strike is over, I'm sure that those 20 pages. [00:54:12] Speaker E: Are well on their way to being done. [00:54:14] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:54:14] Speaker D: Everybody through the whole time has been. [00:54:16] Speaker E: Like, literally the only thing from keeping. [00:54:18] Speaker D: Us from going forward is the strikes. [00:54:20] Speaker E: So they're motivated to get this thing put together. Johnny, I love it. [00:54:26] Speaker B: Yeah, they are. [00:54:28] Speaker C: We love to see it. [00:54:29] Speaker A: We love to see Sam and Twitch. So yeah, that's the interview with Tod McFarlane. [00:54:33] Speaker D: We're checking out get the Image Classics advertisements that we always get. [00:54:38] Speaker E: We get some toy some toy advertisements from my hero academia with some really. [00:54:45] Speaker C: Awesome grenadier bracers, which are like grenade gauntlets. Yeah, I don't know anything about my. [00:54:52] Speaker A: Hero academia, but looks cool. [00:54:53] Speaker E: Me either, but it does look cool. Yeah, you're right. [00:54:56] Speaker D: Then the back cover is just coming soon. [00:54:59] Speaker E: Spawn 320. [00:55:01] Speaker B: Yes. [00:55:02] Speaker A: And this is actually the first one. Or I have this one of the ones I bought. [00:55:06] Speaker E: Nice. 321 is the first of the ones that I've bought. [00:55:10] Speaker C: So I bought 320. [00:55:11] Speaker A: I think I had 321 was the first one I bought. [00:55:13] Speaker C: And I went back and bought 320. [00:55:14] Speaker E: Yeah, I think they had it. [00:55:16] Speaker D: I think 326 or so was when I started. [00:55:19] Speaker E: And I could buy back to 321. [00:55:22] Speaker A: Because I started harassing you. I was like, you reading the Spawn. [00:55:27] Speaker E: Let me tell you, all Spawn verts out there. [00:55:31] Speaker D: When Johnny gets his hooks into something, he will send you text message after text message after text message about, did. [00:55:38] Speaker E: You do this thing? [00:55:38] Speaker D: It's great. [00:55:39] Speaker E: Did you do this thing? [00:55:42] Speaker D: It's a good thing that I also agreed with him, or else we wouldn't be here. [00:55:48] Speaker A: Yeah, you'd been like, what the hell? [00:55:50] Speaker E: It was great. It was great. [00:55:50] Speaker D: I didn't tell him to shut up. I don't want to talk about Spawn. [00:55:53] Speaker E: I was like, tell me more about Spawn. [00:55:56] Speaker D: It was very much like the beginning of Greece. [00:55:58] Speaker E: I was like, tell me more tell me more. [00:56:01] Speaker B: And does he have a cape? Tell me more. Tell me more. [00:56:07] Speaker D: Oh, boy. Cape was the wrong ape. [00:56:11] Speaker E: That's much better, because cape is a. [00:56:14] Speaker D: Terrible thing to try to rhyme with. [00:56:16] Speaker E: Johnny. [00:56:17] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:56:19] Speaker E: I could have used chains. [00:56:22] Speaker C: Chains? [00:56:24] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:56:25] Speaker C: I was, like, texting you about chains and capes. [00:56:28] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:56:28] Speaker D: And then King Spawn number one came out and you were number. [00:56:32] Speaker E: So, yeah, it was great. Good times. Good times to any listeners out there. [00:56:39] Speaker C: And I got there because I started. [00:56:41] Speaker A: Going to Challengers because I wanted to read Nice House on the Lake and then just got into comics for the. [00:56:46] Speaker C: First time way too much and then. [00:56:48] Speaker A: Dialed back, and now I'm at a good spot. [00:56:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:51] Speaker E: All the listeners out there, if you and a friend have something that you literally talk about every fucking week, try making a podcast. [00:57:01] Speaker F: Why not? [00:57:02] Speaker B: Why not? [00:57:03] Speaker C: You learn some life skills and it'll. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Be an adventure along the way. [00:57:07] Speaker B: Yeah, I enjoy it. [00:57:09] Speaker E: But Johnny, that was 319. [00:57:11] Speaker C: That was 319, which I also enjoyed. [00:57:13] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:57:24] Speaker A: So next up, we've got Gunslinger 23 from August 2023, the penultimate Bret Booth. [00:57:34] Speaker C: If the todd father, if the truth. [00:57:37] Speaker A: Is to be believed, is what we've seen on with our very eyes on Instagram. [00:57:41] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:57:41] Speaker C: I mean, Dexter Soy will be taking over. [00:57:46] Speaker E: Be exciting to see what he does with it. [00:57:51] Speaker A: I am excited to see what he does with it. Absolutely. [00:57:53] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. [00:57:54] Speaker C: That's what no, no, I said I'm. [00:57:57] Speaker E: Agreeing with yeah, yeah, I'm agreeing with you. [00:58:00] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:58:01] Speaker A: We're both agreeing with each no, there's no entertainment value in that. I disagree with you, David. I think he's going to do a. [00:58:06] Speaker D: Terrible dexter Soy Boy more like it. [00:58:10] Speaker F: Oh, yeah. [00:58:11] Speaker C: Just like us. We're the Soy Boys oh, boy. [00:58:15] Speaker D: Man down in Oklahoma, literally every ad break, there's at least one very loud. [00:58:20] Speaker E: Soy Boy advertisement on the radio. Every ad break, really? Yeah. It's fucking ridiculous. [00:58:27] Speaker D: It's for, like, the low t replacement drugs, so it's basically hymns, but just. [00:58:36] Speaker E: Louder and aimed at an aging conservative boomer population. [00:58:43] Speaker C: Who's not a Soy Boy, is on. [00:58:46] Speaker A: The COVID of this Gunslinger 23. We got two covers here. One of them is probably one of my favorite Gunslinger covers. [00:58:56] Speaker E: Oh, really? [00:58:58] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:58:58] Speaker A: Which one do you have, David? [00:58:59] Speaker E: I have cover a the Melee. [00:59:03] Speaker F: Yes. [00:59:03] Speaker E: The fede melee. [00:59:06] Speaker C: Fede Melee. [00:59:08] Speaker A: That's one of my favorites. So this is the guns. That's the more Gunslinger leaning against the. [00:59:12] Speaker D: Leaning against the door. He's smoking one of his cigarettes. [00:59:20] Speaker A: Lights coming in. It just looks awesome. Looks like someone out of Red Dead redemption. [00:59:23] Speaker E: Yeah, it's like watercolored. [00:59:25] Speaker A: One of my favorite Gunslinger covers right there, for sure. [00:59:27] Speaker D: I do have to say so the. [00:59:28] Speaker E: Shape of the hat is much more traditionally cowboy hat shaped, but it's also very tall, so it looks more like a Pilgrims hat. [00:59:39] Speaker A: It does look like a Pilgrims hat. [00:59:41] Speaker D: And it makes me think of that upcoming Thanksgiving slasher film. [00:59:45] Speaker A: Oh, I know. I can't wait for Thanksgiving. [00:59:47] Speaker E: It's going to be great. It's going to be great. [00:59:49] Speaker A: Many years in the Gestation. [00:59:51] Speaker C: Yeah, as we mentioned before, Grindhouse trailer. Yeah, it's great. [00:59:57] Speaker F: It's going to be great. [00:59:57] Speaker D: But, yeah, this is a great cover. [00:59:58] Speaker E: There's, like, cow skull in the corner. [01:00:02] Speaker D: And there's blood dripping down from the. [01:00:04] Speaker E: Ceiling and there's a skull in the it's very good. [01:00:11] Speaker C: It's like he's locking in the room. [01:00:13] Speaker A: And like we got something to talk about, partner. [01:00:15] Speaker E: Yeah, it's a very good cover. [01:00:18] Speaker F: Very good cover. [01:00:19] Speaker A: And there's another cover by Kevin Keane, which I own, but I couldn't fucking find, David. [01:00:23] Speaker C: I have no idea where it is. It's lost in the malbol. [01:00:26] Speaker E: Maybe Barbie stole it. [01:00:28] Speaker A: Barbie took it up into her nest that I built her. [01:00:31] Speaker D: Either that or fucking overt Kill or Bane took it with him through the. [01:00:36] Speaker E: Toy portal he rebuilt himself. [01:00:38] Speaker A: Yeah, Bane was like something to read. It's somewhere in my Malibu of Spawn comics that are just taking over my life. [01:00:48] Speaker C: But it's a Kevin Keane cover, and. [01:00:51] Speaker A: It'S just like Gunslinger head on there, looking pretty cool. Nice and clean for Kevin Keane. [01:01:00] Speaker F: Yeah, it's a good looking cover. [01:01:01] Speaker E: Yeah, very good looking cover. [01:01:05] Speaker D: And underneath that, very good looking cover. [01:01:07] Speaker F: Johnny. [01:01:08] Speaker E: Johnny, I think I just called you commie. [01:01:10] Speaker D: My commie co host, John Fisher. I was accused of being a socialist at work once. [01:01:19] Speaker E: I didn't deny it. Yeah, just having a conversation. [01:01:25] Speaker A: Actually, I think I know where this might be. [01:01:28] Speaker E: What? [01:01:29] Speaker A: I think it might be in my bag. I don't know. I think I maybe forgot. Which was my reading copy. Which is my sage copy. [01:01:35] Speaker E: Just read them both, Johnny. Read them both. [01:01:37] Speaker D: Read them. [01:01:38] Speaker A: I got two reading copies now. [01:01:39] Speaker D: So, Johnny, we crack open this beautiful. [01:01:41] Speaker E: Cover that we got here and we have some beautiful credits. [01:01:46] Speaker C: Got to give credit where credit is due. [01:01:47] Speaker D: Yes, indeed. [01:01:48] Speaker E: And due the most amount of credit. [01:01:51] Speaker D: Due to The Todd Father himself. [01:01:54] Speaker E: Tod McFarland. Script and plot, Mr. Brett. [01:01:57] Speaker C: And a lot of credit to art. [01:01:59] Speaker B: To Bret Booth. [01:01:59] Speaker D: Bret Booth. [01:02:00] Speaker E: Yeah, so good. Adelsa Corona and Corey King doing some inking. Ivan Nunez doing the colors, as he has been for many issues now. [01:02:11] Speaker A: Yes. [01:02:11] Speaker D: Our man, the Tom father. [01:02:13] Speaker E: Tom Orzakowski. [01:02:16] Speaker D: Oh, boy, I should have let you take that one. [01:02:19] Speaker E: Doing the lettering. Great lettering. Great lettering. So good. [01:02:26] Speaker D: We don't talk enough about it, I think. I know we talk about it a. [01:02:29] Speaker E: Lot, but we don't talk about it enough. We covered the covers. The Todd Father is our creative director, as usual. And then editor in chief is our boy, Thomas Healy. [01:02:40] Speaker F: There he is. [01:02:40] Speaker E: As you do. And then we have here previously in Gunslinger. [01:02:46] Speaker D: Gunslinger and Dakota have assaulted Clowns Island Fortress. However, he was prepared with an army of his own. There's no mention of the kitchen sink in this previously. And so I have a feeling that this is a Thomas Healy written previously. [01:03:02] Speaker E: And not a todd father. [01:03:04] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:03:04] Speaker A: He would have said the Tod fathers previously would have been like there was a fight where he had everything, even the whole kitchen sink. [01:03:09] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:03:11] Speaker E: And then the Mike Tyson's tiger from the hangover was there too. And then we're going to need a bigger boat, Jazz. You get it. You see how it's funny? I'd love to see just like a. [01:03:23] Speaker D: Transcript of the todd father just having a conversation as one of the previously. [01:03:28] Speaker C: Ons oh, yeah, it'd be great. [01:03:30] Speaker A: And then he was coming in there, and then there was a dinosaur and he was in his eyeball on a hook. [01:03:37] Speaker C: And the violator was going Rawr's falling. [01:03:43] Speaker D: Let me get the toys for you. [01:03:44] Speaker E: And I can act it out. [01:03:45] Speaker A: Let me get the toys here and I'll act it out. You got to get the toys. [01:03:49] Speaker D: Yeah. We open on that scene from whatever Avengers movie it was where Loki comes out. Or no, where it was Dr. Strange. And Loki goes, I have been falling. [01:03:59] Speaker E: For the last half hour. [01:04:01] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, that was great. [01:04:02] Speaker D: And that's where we come in. [01:04:04] Speaker C: Dakota just falling down. [01:04:07] Speaker A: That our favorite pit in Omega Island. [01:04:09] Speaker E: Yeah, that deep, dark pit. [01:04:12] Speaker B: And it's. [01:04:15] Speaker D: Discussed again that this is. [01:04:16] Speaker E: Where Cogliostro turned into Sin. [01:04:19] Speaker D: We also get a recap of Clowns. And the entire reason that Clown is in this series is he was trying to have Gunslinger be dead so that. [01:04:28] Speaker E: Way Spawn would listen to him. [01:04:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:04:30] Speaker A: He's like, hey, gunslinger. [01:04:31] Speaker F: Died. [01:04:31] Speaker A: We got to work together with me now, obviously, Clown, interesting plan, Clown, but whatever. [01:04:36] Speaker D: Yeah, because Al Simmons wouldn't give a shit if Gunslinger died. He would just be like, yeah, if. [01:04:42] Speaker F: Gunslinger died, he'd be like he'd be. [01:04:43] Speaker E: Like, I fucking told him. I told him. And I told him. Good riddance. [01:04:50] Speaker A: He would go, you think I give a shit? [01:04:51] Speaker C: He was a soldier and this is a war. [01:04:54] Speaker A: Loss has happened. [01:04:56] Speaker C: Exactly what he would say. [01:04:57] Speaker D: Exactly what he would say. [01:04:58] Speaker B: Yes. [01:04:59] Speaker D: And then we get back to the fact that. [01:05:04] Speaker E: Dakota's falling. But if she's going to die tonight. [01:05:07] Speaker D: She swears she won't be doing it alone. [01:05:09] Speaker E: And so she does that thing. [01:05:11] Speaker A: Balrog, baby. [01:05:12] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:05:13] Speaker E: She balrogs her papa down into the pit with him. [01:05:17] Speaker D: And then we get that really cool fighting while falling scene where Gandalf is and the balrog is just you just. [01:05:25] Speaker A: Have to wait a whole movie later to see it. [01:05:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:28] Speaker D: And then the little minions just freak out. [01:05:30] Speaker A: They're just like, no, this is great. Their little minion work in this episode in this issue is hilarious. [01:05:39] Speaker E: We get minion round, eye of surprise and it's terrifying. [01:05:43] Speaker D: And then they all scurry to the edge of the pit and they look. [01:05:47] Speaker E: Down and one of them is that. [01:05:49] Speaker D: One on the right is just so worried. He's like, biting. His lip. [01:05:53] Speaker E: And he's just like, is he going to be okay? [01:05:56] Speaker B: Where's the clown? [01:06:01] Speaker D: Then we pan back over. [01:06:02] Speaker A: That kind of gives Gunslinger some time to wake up. Still on. [01:06:07] Speaker D: He's still shishkabobab. [01:06:09] Speaker C: He's still shishkabobed. [01:06:10] Speaker A: And the Violator is like, I want to see what's going on. So he rips him off and throws him away. [01:06:16] Speaker C: He's like, I want to know. [01:06:17] Speaker A: I'm getting left out. [01:06:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:06:19] Speaker D: Javi is described as being a rag. [01:06:21] Speaker E: Doll victim dangling in front of Violator's vision. [01:06:25] Speaker D: So the minions and Violator looks so. [01:06:28] Speaker E: Sad, just stared into the pit. [01:06:33] Speaker F: I know. [01:06:33] Speaker A: They love clowns so much. [01:06:36] Speaker E: It's the equivalent of one of those. [01:06:39] Speaker D: Movies that has an animal that we get interior thoughts on. And the animal's owner has just died. [01:06:47] Speaker E: That's what the Violator is giving me at this moment. [01:06:49] Speaker A: Gunslinger's guts are just dripping out. He can't barely catch his breath. [01:06:53] Speaker C: He's got skewered. [01:06:56] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:06:58] Speaker A: And everyone's just like, fuck Gunslinger. He's the one that fucking did this. [01:07:01] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:07:02] Speaker B: Get him. [01:07:03] Speaker C: And I guess there's one that's more zealous. [01:07:05] Speaker A: There's one that's probably that really worried one. He's just like, fuck it, he's going to attack. [01:07:08] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:07:10] Speaker E: I'm trying to think of what that. [01:07:11] Speaker D: Old lady says in army of Darkness. [01:07:15] Speaker E: When they're chanting to kill Ash something war like it's the old lady. And then she bites a bite of bread. [01:07:25] Speaker C: I don't remember. I'll be watching that movie at some. [01:07:28] Speaker A: Point this month, probably. [01:07:29] Speaker D: All right, well, never mind. [01:07:30] Speaker E: Skip that. [01:07:30] Speaker C: I'll report back. [01:07:31] Speaker A: Because I usually watch all the Evil Deads during Halloween month. [01:07:35] Speaker E: But yeah, they all start attacking them. [01:07:38] Speaker C: Did you know that original title was Medieval Dead? [01:07:42] Speaker E: I think I did. [01:07:44] Speaker C: Or was Evil Dead Three? [01:07:45] Speaker A: The medieval dead. [01:07:46] Speaker E: The medieval dead. Medieval Dead is a great title. [01:07:49] Speaker C: Really is. [01:07:51] Speaker E: So, yeah, that one little zealot throws. [01:07:55] Speaker D: Himself at Gunslinger and starts, like, trying. [01:07:58] Speaker E: To bite his face. And Gunslinger just BAMS him in the stomach with one of his little pistols. [01:08:06] Speaker A: Shoots him right point blank in the stomach. This little tiny guy. It's just crazy. [01:08:09] Speaker D: But it's also a really tiny pistol. [01:08:11] Speaker E: That it's like it's not in a holster. [01:08:13] Speaker D: It's just like in his pocket. [01:08:18] Speaker C: Yes, like his little pocket pistol. [01:08:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:08:21] Speaker C: But then just when Violators about to come get him, turn the page. [01:08:29] Speaker D: It gives his enemies their opening. [01:08:31] Speaker E: Johnny until it doesn't. [01:08:35] Speaker D: Oh, that until it doesn't. [01:08:36] Speaker A: I love that. Until It doesn't is so big. [01:08:39] Speaker D: And then we got a dinosaur just bursting through the walls. [01:08:44] Speaker E: And our man Taylor holds it on for dear life. [01:08:51] Speaker A: How Taylor finally promised. Taylor joins the fray from the beginning of this flash forward, even though it's not quite accurate to what was going on in that flash forward. [01:08:59] Speaker D: Yeah, no, that's fine. [01:09:01] Speaker A: Issue to issue to issue. [01:09:04] Speaker C: It's your issue. [01:09:04] Speaker B: Issue to issue. [01:09:06] Speaker E: The fact that Taylor has been able. [01:09:08] Speaker D: To hold on is amazing because I've ridden a horse. I've ridden a horse bare back. I know how tenuous the ability to. [01:09:16] Speaker E: Stay on top of a horse is. [01:09:18] Speaker D: Now take away the fur and put you on the back of a dinosaur. [01:09:22] Speaker E: That is eight times taller than a horse. Probably pretty hard. [01:09:27] Speaker B: Yeah, pretty hard. [01:09:28] Speaker E: I guess if he falls off, he. [01:09:29] Speaker D: Could just dangle from one of those little stumpy arms. [01:09:32] Speaker E: He'll be ah, yeah. [01:09:34] Speaker D: Sometimes if you're going to war and. [01:09:36] Speaker E: Plan on surviving, it's better to be lucky than skilled, Johnny. [01:09:40] Speaker F: It's true. [01:09:41] Speaker A: I've always said I have good luck. I'm a lucky person. [01:09:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:09:43] Speaker D: We learned that Dakota sent out a. [01:09:46] Speaker E: Distress signal to the dinosaur she left behind. And we get a nice little C issue 22. [01:09:52] Speaker C: Yes, she called the dinosaur. [01:09:54] Speaker A: They swam. Yeah, they're here to avenge the sister's death. [01:09:58] Speaker E: These little minions are just throwing themselves. [01:10:00] Speaker D: Around like he's everywhere. [01:10:04] Speaker B: So good. [01:10:06] Speaker C: And this trex or the violator is. [01:10:08] Speaker A: Some fucked up shit and throws the T Rex's sibling's head at he pulls. [01:10:13] Speaker D: Some fucking monolith here and throws the. [01:10:15] Speaker C: T Rex head, throws a body part. And then the T Rex just fucking. [01:10:19] Speaker A: I mean, he beans fucking Taylor with. [01:10:22] Speaker C: The T Rex head just like hits him. [01:10:24] Speaker B: Boom. [01:10:25] Speaker C: And then T Rex does like a. [01:10:28] Speaker A: Pachycephalosaurus, the Friar Tuck, and he does the ram. [01:10:32] Speaker D: Yeah, he doesn't have that head ram. He doesn't have that nice thick skull, though. [01:10:36] Speaker A: I know the pachycephalosaurus, that's good for him. But I don't know. [01:10:39] Speaker C: The T Rex probably hurt a little bit. [01:10:41] Speaker E: Good old Friar Tuck. [01:10:44] Speaker D: Taylor's just like thrown to the ground. And the minions come up and there's just like just chewing on his leg. [01:10:51] Speaker C: Like gnawing on his foot or his leg. Oh, boy. And then back in the pit. [01:10:59] Speaker F: Yep. [01:11:00] Speaker E: We got Dakota and clown falling. And then they hit the ground. Dakota hits it real lively and on her feet. And Clown just like thumps his head. [01:11:10] Speaker D: On the floor face first. [01:11:12] Speaker B: Boom. [01:11:13] Speaker D: And then as soon as Cloud stands. [01:11:15] Speaker C: Up, dakota gives him a yank. [01:11:21] Speaker B: On. [01:11:21] Speaker D: Her whip and he just falls back on his face again. [01:11:24] Speaker C: Yeah, I love that. [01:11:26] Speaker A: Beating up on clown. [01:11:28] Speaker C: Clown. [01:11:29] Speaker D: And then while Clown's there on the ground again, dakota sees that the walls are too smooth. [01:11:34] Speaker E: But then she finds a little crack, a little glowing crack. Well, Johnny, if you find a little. [01:11:40] Speaker D: Glowing crack in the wall, obviously you. [01:11:42] Speaker E: Gotta stick your fingers in it. [01:11:44] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:11:44] Speaker C: What else would you do? [01:11:45] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:11:46] Speaker D: And so she gets. [01:11:49] Speaker C: She feels zap with power. [01:11:51] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:11:52] Speaker D: And she feels nothing. No pain, nothing. [01:11:55] Speaker B: Just. [01:11:57] Speaker D: The glorious endlessness of the void where she no longer exists. [01:12:03] Speaker E: And then when she comes out of. [01:12:05] Speaker D: It, she's pissed because now she wants to get back to that euphoria. And she's going to be chasing the. [01:12:09] Speaker E: Dragon of the crack light forever and ever. [01:12:12] Speaker D: And the next thing you know, she's going to be walking around being like, crack light? [01:12:15] Speaker E: You got crack light. [01:12:16] Speaker D: And then she'll accidentally get confused for somebody looking for crack, and then she'll have another issue with chasing the Dragon of the Crack. [01:12:22] Speaker E: And then she'll it's a slippery slope, Johnny. The Republicans tried to warn us about it. [01:12:30] Speaker B: Right? [01:12:30] Speaker F: They sure did. [01:12:32] Speaker C: It's a gateway drug. [01:12:34] Speaker D: Don't be poking around in light filled cracks. [01:12:38] Speaker E: You'll end up in a bad. [01:12:45] Speaker C: So Clown's like, oh, I want that. [01:12:47] Speaker A: Because he realizes that probably since this. [01:12:49] Speaker C: Is where Clogliosa was imprisoned, that his. [01:12:52] Speaker A: Powers must have come from that light. [01:12:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:12:56] Speaker D: And then Clown starts feeling sorry for himself and being like, I just don't. [01:13:00] Speaker E: Want Sin to sit on the throne of hell. [01:13:04] Speaker D: I want to be me. [01:13:07] Speaker A: I want to be on the throne. [01:13:11] Speaker E: And then Dakota's like, Shut the fuck up, dude. You're just being a douche. [01:13:16] Speaker C: Killed my dinosaurs, you're selfish bastard. [01:13:18] Speaker E: You won't even tell me who my mom is. [01:13:22] Speaker B: We get out. [01:13:22] Speaker A: Okay, so there you go. Because in the last issue, she was. [01:13:24] Speaker C: Like, mom always said yeah, she said that? That's not what mom said about you. [01:13:31] Speaker A: She was just talking to him. [01:13:32] Speaker D: Yeah, I think that might have just been like, a your mom joke. [01:13:36] Speaker E: Okay, well. [01:13:40] Speaker D: We get a nice little how Dakota finds her dinosaurs. [01:13:44] Speaker E: She falls through the time rift and. [01:13:47] Speaker C: Then brings okay, here's my question. When she's back in dinosaur time, does she write these books or does she. [01:13:54] Speaker A: Find these books existing, or is she back in regular time now? [01:13:57] Speaker E: I don't know. [01:13:58] Speaker C: I don't know. [01:13:59] Speaker A: I like to imagine she wrote all these books about dinosaurs. [01:14:01] Speaker E: Yeah, that would be great. [01:14:03] Speaker A: No, but it seems like she came through time with them. [01:14:06] Speaker D: Johnny, I think the next time that there's an interview, the Todd father submission oh. [01:14:12] Speaker A: I should ask him specifically if Dakota wrote the books about dinosaurs or read. [01:14:16] Speaker D: Them in Gunslinger, issue number 23. On the page after the middle, the. [01:14:21] Speaker E: Staple page, we see Dakota in Dinosaur times reading a whole bunch of books. [01:14:25] Speaker B: Did she write those? [01:14:27] Speaker A: I think he would just tell me. [01:14:28] Speaker C: To, like, go have sex. [01:14:31] Speaker D: He would be like, what do you think? [01:14:33] Speaker E: Next question. [01:14:34] Speaker C: Yeah, whatever you think. [01:14:37] Speaker A: That's the beauty of it. But, yeah, she studies up or writes a bunch of books about dinosaurs, trains. [01:14:42] Speaker C: Them, and she likes using the dinosaurs because only she can control them, because Clown can't. [01:14:50] Speaker E: Clown has no power over them. [01:14:52] Speaker D: She's fought her way to the castle at the center of the Goblin City. [01:14:56] Speaker E: Johnny and he has no power over her. [01:14:59] Speaker A: And then Clown just runs to the light source. He's sick for it. [01:15:03] Speaker C: He just grabs it. [01:15:05] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:15:06] Speaker E: The light explodes. [01:15:08] Speaker D: And then we cut back up top, just straight to a Gunslinger action pose. [01:15:13] Speaker E: Just blam, blaming. He's blaming, blaming. He's going blam blam, shooting up violator. [01:15:19] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:15:20] Speaker E: And then the cavalry arrives just at. [01:15:25] Speaker D: This moment, dakota, like, shoots back up. [01:15:26] Speaker A: There and just sends a force field out, knocking everybody down. [01:15:29] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:15:29] Speaker D: And then the dinosaurs over there eating the little Minions. [01:15:32] Speaker E: Just crunching, crunch. [01:15:36] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:15:36] Speaker C: My friend James had a T Rex. [01:15:38] Speaker A: Toy from the Lost World that you. [01:15:39] Speaker C: Could feed stuff and pull it out its stomach. [01:15:42] Speaker E: Oh, nice. [01:15:43] Speaker A: So you like, feeded action figures? [01:15:45] Speaker E: That's awesome. [01:15:46] Speaker C: I could reenact this if I had that figure. [01:15:48] Speaker A: I could get my little clown from my Al Simmons graveyard playset and I could feed him to the T Rex. [01:15:54] Speaker D: Hey, I mean, it sounds to me like it's time for you to rekindle an old friendship. [01:15:59] Speaker A: No, James is a good friend. Still. I don't think he has the T Rex anymore, unfortunately. [01:16:04] Speaker E: Well, don't bring it up to him. [01:16:06] Speaker A: Because then he'll be he'll be he'll. [01:16:08] Speaker D: Be real sad that he doesn't have it anymore. [01:16:09] Speaker C: Then oh, I'll mention it too. [01:16:10] Speaker A: I'll make him feel real bad. [01:16:13] Speaker D: Like a true. [01:16:19] Speaker E: Know the Minions are taken care of. [01:16:21] Speaker D: And then everybody turns to Violator and Dakota says, you're next. [01:16:26] Speaker E: And then Gunslingers to the left of her, dinosaurs to the right of her, violators in front of her. And he's just like, fuck this. Yeah, he's just like he takes his. [01:16:43] Speaker D: Toys, the last remaining of the Minions. [01:16:46] Speaker E: And just jumps down the pole the hole. [01:16:48] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:16:48] Speaker A: He's just like, I'm out of here. [01:16:49] Speaker D: He's just like, fuck it. [01:16:53] Speaker B: Yes. I love that. [01:16:56] Speaker E: Taylor's just like, holy shit. [01:16:58] Speaker D: I love how tiny the holy shit is. [01:17:00] Speaker B: Holy shit, holy shit. [01:17:05] Speaker D: I love just the commentary that Taylor gives. [01:17:08] Speaker F: It's great. [01:17:11] Speaker E: And Dakota starts to mourn. Dakota and her dinosaur go over know. [01:17:17] Speaker D: They do the sad part of every Disney movie. [01:17:21] Speaker C: She says goodbye, kisses his decapitated head. [01:17:24] Speaker A: Like, in every Disney movie, the Gunslinger. [01:17:26] Speaker D: Like, you could tell how awkward he feels. You okay? Did he think we could do? He's like, what do I do? I'm a gunslingerman. I don't know from emotions. [01:17:38] Speaker C: She's like, you can hunt down my father and kill the bastard. [01:17:42] Speaker E: And she does a zelda. Take this with you. [01:17:47] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:17:47] Speaker A: She gets a video game item. He gets a dinosaur. [01:17:50] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:17:50] Speaker A: Gets a little baby dinosaur. [01:17:52] Speaker D: It's already been added to your inventory. [01:17:57] Speaker E: Johnny. The next page, Dakota says, I've heard. [01:18:01] Speaker D: You can't travel in the shadows. Let me open up sponsor Universe number. [01:18:08] Speaker E: One, where while escaping the Omega Island pits with Al Simmons, gunslinger kicks Al Simmons into the shadows. [01:18:22] Speaker D: And Al Simmons. [01:18:23] Speaker E: Shadow blasts. And then Gunslinger follows him, shadow blasting himself into a jungle miles from the island. [01:18:31] Speaker C: And what the heck? [01:18:35] Speaker E: The events of Spawn's Universe Number One happen before this whole Gunslinger bit because. [01:18:40] Speaker D: This is where Gunslinger and Spawn meet. [01:18:42] Speaker C: For the first time, issue to issue. Johnny, what the hell? [01:18:49] Speaker E: What the hell? [01:18:50] Speaker B: What the hell? [01:18:51] Speaker A: Maybe he just can't because he doesn't want to use all his power. He doesn't have a lot of power. [01:18:55] Speaker F: Yeah, he doesn't. [01:18:55] Speaker D: He really doesn't. [01:18:56] Speaker A: Maybe she just means like he can't. Or maybe he just wants people to think he can't and only does it occasionally. [01:19:00] Speaker E: Yeah. I don't know. [01:19:01] Speaker D: Or maybe it's like, since everybody knows that he's weak, he's like, Well, I'll just play into the weakness. But then they'll know how strong I. [01:19:08] Speaker E: Am, issue to issue. [01:19:09] Speaker D: David and she gives him a dinosaur so that way he could sneak up on his enemies instead of motorcycling in and giving his position away. [01:19:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:19:21] Speaker D: Taylor says, you're saying that thing turns into a horse? [01:19:26] Speaker C: Kind of. [01:19:31] Speaker A: She's basically hunt down the people who hurt your sister, and I want my dad next on the list. [01:19:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:19:36] Speaker D: They make an agreement, and then they. [01:19:38] Speaker E: Walk off into the sunset in very western fashion. [01:19:44] Speaker B: Yes. [01:19:44] Speaker D: And the sunset is shining through layer. [01:19:47] Speaker E: Upon layer upon layer of busted through wall. [01:19:51] Speaker F: Yeah, we're tailored. [01:19:52] Speaker A: I imagine that the dinosaur just like. [01:19:53] Speaker B: Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. [01:19:55] Speaker D: I bet that right before the last. [01:19:57] Speaker E: One, they were like, hold on, hold on. Got to look good when we get through this one. [01:20:05] Speaker D: Okay, I'm ready to go. [01:20:07] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:20:08] Speaker C: Don't want to look too disheveled. [01:20:09] Speaker A: I gotta make my hero moment. [01:20:10] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:20:11] Speaker E: The dinosaurs, like, combing its its two hairs to be like, are they flying away? They look good. Okay, let's go. Let's get it. 1213. Is that necrometer, Johnny? [01:20:25] Speaker C: That's pretty low. [01:20:26] Speaker D: Better than Spawns was in 3319, though. [01:20:30] Speaker C: It's true. [01:20:31] Speaker E: Not by terribly much, but still more. [01:20:35] Speaker D: Then we got ourselves some Spawning Grounds. [01:20:37] Speaker E: And Johnny, it's one of our favorites because it's happened a lot. We got some more fan art, and we got some creepy ass fan art for this one. [01:20:49] Speaker D: It starts off with a gunslinger scarecrow looking motherfucker. [01:20:54] Speaker E: Yeah, he's creepy. Boy, that looks scary. [01:21:00] Speaker D: And then we got an even spookier. [01:21:02] Speaker E: Gunslinger next to it. [01:21:03] Speaker C: And then we got pencils on that ones are crazy. [01:21:06] Speaker E: Yeah, it's so detailed. Wild. And then we got. [01:21:13] Speaker D: A gunslinger floating like plague. Spawn in 317. 318. [01:21:19] Speaker A: Yeah, he's kind of floating like Jesus. [01:21:20] Speaker E: Kind of like Jesus floating there. [01:21:23] Speaker C: He does look thing like Jesus. [01:21:25] Speaker F: Oh, boy. [01:21:25] Speaker D: And then the second row has two. [01:21:27] Speaker E: Of the three of those are super spooky. [01:21:31] Speaker A: It's spooky season. I love this statue on the bottom. [01:21:34] Speaker E: Yeah, the statue is in the middle. I love the middle on the right. How the hat is like it looks like it's like a hat made out. [01:21:46] Speaker D: Of shadows or smoke. [01:21:47] Speaker E: And it looks like the hat is moving kind of like a river or something. [01:21:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:21:55] Speaker C: No, it looks cool. [01:21:56] Speaker E: Great fan art. Absolutely. [01:21:58] Speaker C: Great fan art. [01:21:59] Speaker F: Thank you. [01:22:00] Speaker A: Swawning round. [01:22:01] Speaker E: Yes, indeed. [01:22:02] Speaker D: Advertisements for the other titles for Image. [01:22:05] Speaker E: Classics, McFarland Toys, as usual. [01:22:10] Speaker B: Yes. [01:22:10] Speaker A: That's 23. [01:22:12] Speaker C: The number 23. [01:22:15] Speaker E: And Johnny, I know one of my dogs has been being bad this whole recording. [01:22:21] Speaker D: I know, but we need to put. [01:22:22] Speaker E: That aside and we need to rate these puppies. [01:22:25] Speaker C: It's time to rate the puppies. [01:22:28] Speaker D: Starting off, we got Sponge Universe number one. [01:22:31] Speaker F: Wait, what? [01:22:32] Speaker A: No. Well, we kind of did. Well, we read that because we're good hosts. We didn't have to read it, but we did, and I'm glad we did. [01:22:38] Speaker D: Honorary rating. I don't remember what we rated it. [01:22:41] Speaker E: But honorary rating five. [01:22:43] Speaker D: J Scott Campbell medieval Spawn covers for spawn's universe. [01:22:48] Speaker B: Number one. [01:22:49] Speaker D: Read it before you read these issues. [01:22:51] Speaker E: And it just opens it up so much. [01:22:56] Speaker A: Yeah, I give it five, too. [01:22:57] Speaker C: Spawns universe is great. [01:22:59] Speaker B: Yeah, it's great. [01:23:01] Speaker A: Check it out. It's a great starting point. It's crazy how it works as a. [01:23:04] Speaker C: Starting point and like, a good bridge for if you're reading the main series. [01:23:10] Speaker A: You'Re all caught up. [01:23:11] Speaker C: It just is a great setup, and. [01:23:13] Speaker A: It was an exciting time to be part of Spawn. [01:23:15] Speaker B: Indeed. [01:23:19] Speaker C: So Spawn 319, it is right after. [01:23:22] Speaker A: Spawn's Universe, after this kind of like. [01:23:24] Speaker C: Spawn declaration that, yeah, Spawn's Universe has arrived, and we've got it's kind of. [01:23:34] Speaker A: A globetrotting adventure with Spawn. [01:23:36] Speaker C: He gets some stuff. We get a Soul Crusher at the end. [01:23:39] Speaker A: We get Sam. I really like this issue a lot. This is like Tod father playing to his strengths. It's not like bogged down in one fight. [01:23:45] Speaker C: There's a lot of stuff going. [01:23:47] Speaker D: Agree. I agree. [01:23:48] Speaker F: It's fun. [01:23:48] Speaker A: You get a nice little side story about this creepy restaurant owner vampire guy with people trapped in his wine cellar. [01:23:55] Speaker D: Who are people who make a habit of just killing all the children in Syrian villages. [01:24:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it's just wild. It's insane. And I really liked it. [01:24:04] Speaker C: I thought it was a great issue. I'm going to give it 4.5 bottles. [01:24:10] Speaker A: Of wine for table five. [01:24:13] Speaker E: Hell yeah. I'm going to agree with you, Johnny. [01:24:17] Speaker D: Especially coming off the four issue fight on Omega Island. Yes, an absolute breath of fresh air. [01:24:26] Speaker E: It's jam packed in the best of ways. [01:24:30] Speaker D: We get Soul Crusher, like you said. We get lots of Cygor action. [01:24:33] Speaker E: We get motherfucking. Sam. [01:24:36] Speaker C: We get the Italy. [01:24:39] Speaker D: We get Grant Morrison's invisibles. We get lock and key. We get wine, talk. [01:24:44] Speaker E: We get vampires. I'm going to give this five plastic pizza tables from the box to keep. [01:24:52] Speaker D: The cheese from sticking to the lid. I don't know if I can say. [01:24:58] Speaker E: That it's perfect, but I don't think I can fight into any fault with it. So I guess by default, it is kind of a perfect issue of comic book. It's great. [01:25:09] Speaker B: It is. It's great. [01:25:12] Speaker D: It does that thing where there's enough. [01:25:14] Speaker A: Of a it's got great covers, too. Yeah, you have the Cygor cover and the Bjorn Baron's cover. [01:25:18] Speaker F: It's got everything. [01:25:18] Speaker A: It's the whole package. [01:25:19] Speaker D: It's got enough of a self contained story that you don't feel cheated out of story by reading it. [01:25:24] Speaker E: It's not just a middle it but there's obviously a place for it to go. You know what's I mean? [01:25:31] Speaker B: It's great. [01:25:32] Speaker E: Absolutely wonderful. [01:25:34] Speaker A: And next we had spawn gunslinger spawn 23. The end of that Omega Island. Another end of another Omega Island fight. [01:25:42] Speaker C: Yeah, something Todfather loves to do. [01:25:46] Speaker E: But it was great. [01:25:47] Speaker C: I love all the Bret Booth really. [01:25:50] Speaker A: Got to shine if this is indeed his penultimate issue. Really got to shine with a dinosaur action, it's a good kind of farewell for him. The minions is hilarious. I love Violator, like in the Minions, really caring about clown. [01:26:03] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:26:04] Speaker D: Good character work there. [01:26:05] Speaker A: Seems like it's setting up some stuff where Clowns going to Hell through this crack. So maybe he'll be fighting for that throne soon. [01:26:10] Speaker C: Yeah, I think it's all building towards something in Spawn 350, I imagine, is. [01:26:17] Speaker A: What it seems like. Because they just announced there's going to. [01:26:19] Speaker C: Be six covers for it and it. [01:26:22] Speaker A: Will reveal who ends up on the throne of Hell and Spawn 350. [01:26:25] Speaker E: OOH, nice. [01:26:26] Speaker C: That was just todd's father just did an interview where he said, So hell. Yeah, we're getting there. [01:26:35] Speaker A: I'm very I think it's all building up to that. But. [01:26:39] Speaker C: I'm going to give it four. [01:26:43] Speaker A: Dinosaur books written or read by Dakota. [01:26:46] Speaker F: Nice. [01:26:47] Speaker E: Good old dinosaur books. [01:26:50] Speaker D: I am going to also give it. [01:26:52] Speaker E: Four I am going to give it. [01:26:55] Speaker D: Four utterances from Taylor, because Taylor has four speech bubbles in this entire issue. [01:27:00] Speaker E: And each one of them fucking great. [01:27:04] Speaker B: Yep. [01:27:05] Speaker C: It's like, oh, shit. [01:27:07] Speaker A: Hobby, get down. [01:27:08] Speaker D: Holy shit, Hobby, get down. Christ. So you're telling me that thing turns into a horse? [01:27:15] Speaker A: It's got all the good lines. [01:27:16] Speaker D: That's an encapsulation of, like, gunslinger. It's got the action get down. [01:27:22] Speaker E: It's got drama. [01:27:23] Speaker D: Christ. It's got amazement. Shit. It's got wonders. Are you telling me that turns into a horse? [01:27:32] Speaker F: Wow. [01:27:33] Speaker A: All the things it's a great fucking issue from Taylor's mouth to our ears. [01:27:38] Speaker D: Maybe he's the one that's going to. [01:27:40] Speaker E: Write the Book of Spawn, wherein Spawn 316 occurs. [01:27:45] Speaker A: Yeah, I can imagine Taylor being the one that writes the Book of Spawn when it's all said and done. [01:27:49] Speaker C: Yeah, he's the back and saying, I. [01:27:51] Speaker A: Once knew a man named So. [01:27:55] Speaker D: Whereas Spawn main title, Spawn When It Ends, we just learned that it's like a Spawn epistolary where he's just writing his diary of the things he did. That's how they're going to end gunslinger. It's just going to be Taylor writing. [01:28:10] Speaker E: Down stuff and be like and because Javi could not write himself, I wrote his tales for you. [01:28:17] Speaker B: Yes. [01:28:18] Speaker D: And it's like old ass Taylor just sitting at his little laptop typing, and then his grandkids come in and they go, Grandpa, grandpa. [01:28:27] Speaker E: He's like, let's get out there. And they're quarter spoilers. [01:28:33] Speaker D: They're like quarter angels. And they've got, like half a wing sticking out of their arm. [01:28:36] Speaker E: And he's like, great. Absolutely great. [01:28:42] Speaker B: Let's see it. [01:28:45] Speaker D: We should start writing alternative comic books for these Johnny and be like and. [01:28:51] Speaker E: This is the respawn canon. [01:28:53] Speaker A: We like to have our canon of. [01:28:55] Speaker C: People that we follow online. [01:28:57] Speaker E: Yeah, we do. [01:28:59] Speaker A: And there's someone that was featured in this very issue that we just talked about in the Spawning. [01:29:04] Speaker E: We sure they sure are. And we sure did. [01:29:07] Speaker C: That is dark underscore Lord Studios on Instagram. [01:29:13] Speaker D: Instagram, yes. [01:29:14] Speaker A: They got and they're the one that. [01:29:15] Speaker C: Did that really nice pencil y gunslinger. [01:29:18] Speaker A: That we pointed out. And oh, my god, their art is amazing. [01:29:21] Speaker D: They got everything. Speaking of Balrogs, they have a lot of Lord of the Rings art. [01:29:28] Speaker E: And it is just like massively detailed. There's also lots of really cool stuff. [01:29:33] Speaker D: There's also lots of dragon men and. [01:29:37] Speaker E: Skeleton men and wizards with skull faces. And if you like anything creepy, check it out. Because it massively detailed, it is impossible. [01:29:53] Speaker D: To undersell the amount of detail all. [01:29:55] Speaker E: Of these drawings have. [01:29:57] Speaker F: It is great. [01:29:58] Speaker E: Like, look, there's the bellrog right there. You shall not pass. [01:30:03] Speaker B: Absolutely. [01:30:03] Speaker A: Give them a follow. Dark underscore Lord Studios? [01:30:08] Speaker F: Absolutely. [01:30:08] Speaker C: On Instagram? [01:30:09] Speaker B: Absolutely. [01:30:11] Speaker C: While you're at it, make sure to. [01:30:12] Speaker A: Give us a follow. We are regarding Spawn Pod. [01:30:15] Speaker E: Yes, we are. [01:30:17] Speaker C: We are posting. We got all kinds of good stuff, pictures. [01:30:22] Speaker A: I'm doing a Halloween it's probably almost over by the time you'll be hearing this episode. [01:30:27] Speaker C: But I'm doing a Halloween challenge of covers. [01:30:29] Speaker A: You can look through those if you'd like. I got a lot of stuff from my collection. I'm showing up there. [01:30:32] Speaker E: Yeah, they're all awesome. And not all of them respond, surprisingly. [01:30:39] Speaker C: I'm trying to get a lot of. [01:30:40] Speaker A: Spawn in there, but I'm trying to get a little variety at least. [01:30:42] Speaker D: Every other day you got to give people a little taste of the other spooky stuff. Spawn's not the only spooky shit out. [01:30:48] Speaker C: There, but so many of the covers. [01:30:50] Speaker A: Fit so well to the prompts. I'm going to end up using a. [01:30:52] Speaker C: Lot of Spawn, I bet. [01:30:53] Speaker E: Yeah, absolutely. [01:30:56] Speaker D: We talk about stuff occasionally. I do a quick brief review of that week's book. [01:31:03] Speaker E: When it comes out, we show our pickups. We got pictures of dogs, cats, comics, us. Occasionally we'll share something that somebody else put. If there's ever any Todd father news. [01:31:18] Speaker D: We almost always share it there. [01:31:19] Speaker E: Because if he shares it, we'll just let you know about it. [01:31:24] Speaker D: Be good to know. [01:31:25] Speaker E: Probably very soon, probably in the past. [01:31:28] Speaker D: When you're listening to this, there should be a lot of news coming out of New York. [01:31:31] Speaker E: Comic Con. We'll probably do a roundup of that after it happens. So stay tuned. [01:31:42] Speaker C: Stay tuned, baby. [01:31:43] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:31:43] Speaker A: Speaking of also oh, yes, go ahead, say it. [01:31:47] Speaker D: Speaking of tuned, our tunes are made by the fabulous Brian Voiler. [01:31:52] Speaker E: And you should give him a follow while you're over on Instagram as well. [01:31:56] Speaker D: Brian underscore voyals. [01:31:57] Speaker E: Underscore 27. [01:32:00] Speaker B: Do it. [01:32:00] Speaker E: Do it. That's all there is to say. [01:32:02] Speaker B: Do it. [01:32:03] Speaker E: He's great. [01:32:04] Speaker B: He's amazing. [01:32:06] Speaker E: And if that's not enough for you, if you would like to contact us and tell us anything, you can always send us an email at regarding [email protected]. We'd love to hear your comments, your questions. Johnny said that if you send an email, he will read it. [01:32:24] Speaker C: I will read it on air. [01:32:25] Speaker E: He will read it. [01:32:27] Speaker A: That is a promise straight to you. [01:32:29] Speaker D: So Johnny does have editorial capacity to not be forced to say stuff that is not good. [01:32:36] Speaker E: So don't think you're going to pull. [01:32:38] Speaker D: A sneaky one on us. [01:32:39] Speaker B: We're not. [01:32:40] Speaker F: Yeah, I'm smart. [01:32:41] Speaker A: You gotta wake up pretty early in. [01:32:42] Speaker C: The morning to get me. [01:32:45] Speaker D: Not me. You can fool me any day and twice on Sundays. So it's a good thing I didn't make that promise. [01:32:53] Speaker B: That's true. Yeah, that's true. [01:32:56] Speaker E: And I know, Johnny, you like to ask people questions to maybe garner spur some ideas. [01:33:07] Speaker A: So we had Dakota, a lot of dinosaur action in this. Bret Boost coming to his end. We know the dinosaurs were in there because he likes to draw dinosaurs. I'm just wondering what your favorite dinosaur is. [01:33:17] Speaker C: Is it a velociraptor? [01:33:18] Speaker A: Is it a pachycephalosaurus? [01:33:20] Speaker C: Is it the T Rex? Is it the procom signathis? [01:33:24] Speaker E: Is it the ankylosaurus? [01:33:27] Speaker C: Is it the allosaurus? [01:33:30] Speaker E: Actually, Johnny, my answer is going to be the ankylosaurus. [01:33:36] Speaker D: I can't decide between barbed tail or clubtail ankylosaurus. [01:33:40] Speaker E: Do you have an opinion on Club? [01:33:45] Speaker A: Clubtail seems cool. Which one was the real one or which one? [01:33:50] Speaker E: Which one is your know, I'm sure. [01:33:53] Speaker D: They don't really club tail, I think is more practical. However, the barbed tail is definitely more. [01:34:02] Speaker A: That'S what put some spikes on it. [01:34:03] Speaker D: Yeah, just put spikes on it. [01:34:06] Speaker E: That makes it cool. You know, Johnny, not enough people are asking people over the age of seven. [01:34:13] Speaker D: What their favorite dinosaur is. [01:34:17] Speaker A: This is I gotta say, mine might be the compies. The pro compsignathus. I love them. [01:34:20] Speaker E: They're so cute. They're so. [01:34:25] Speaker B: Excellent. Excellent. [01:34:26] Speaker E: Well, Johnny, you know what's excellent? [01:34:30] Speaker C: More Spawn. [01:34:31] Speaker D: The books that comprise Spawn's universe. Yes, absolutely. [01:34:35] Speaker A: Absolutely. [01:34:36] Speaker E: And I have a question for you. Do you happen to know what we're. [01:34:41] Speaker D: Going to read for the next episode of this here Spawn podcast? [01:34:47] Speaker E: Because if you don't, I actually do. [01:34:48] Speaker D: I'd be happy to. [01:34:49] Speaker E: Oh, you do? [01:34:50] Speaker D: I was going to tell you if you didn't know. [01:34:52] Speaker A: Well, I remember because easy enough, we're going on to the next one on the mainline Spawn. For our classic or older issue, we're doing Spawn 320. [01:35:00] Speaker E: Yeah, indeed. Absolutely. [01:35:02] Speaker A: Find out where this goes. [01:35:03] Speaker D: Only 100 left to go, right, Johnny? [01:35:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Spawn 420. [01:35:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:35:09] Speaker A: I can't Wait till we get the Spawn 420 gets, like, really high. [01:35:12] Speaker E: It's going to be wild. [01:35:13] Speaker D: If only we could just skip our 69th Episode to let our 69th like the number 69th Episode to be for Spawn 420. [01:35:21] Speaker E: I'd be very we'll save it. [01:35:24] Speaker B: We'll save it. [01:35:27] Speaker C: But yeah, 320 is our main spawn. [01:35:29] Speaker A: And then for our more modern issue. [01:35:32] Speaker C: We'Re doing King Spawn 25. The first one I don't know, we'll see here. [01:35:37] Speaker A: It could be contentious. This is the first one not written by Sean Lewis. [01:35:40] Speaker C: Yeah, Tod father wrote it. [01:35:44] Speaker D: We're probably committed to at least six. [01:35:47] Speaker E: Issues of Toddfather writing, because the arcs. [01:35:50] Speaker D: All seem to be six issues long. [01:35:52] Speaker E: So we'll see how that goes. [01:35:54] Speaker D: So far. [01:35:55] Speaker E: It's not too bad. It's not too bad. [01:35:58] Speaker D: Not too bad. [01:35:59] Speaker C: I just hope you keep the styles. [01:36:02] Speaker A: Different because I don't want my king spawn. [01:36:04] Speaker E: Yeah, I like them different, too. There's nothing wrong with the Todd father Wright and spawn. There's nothing wrong. We got to get that out there. However. [01:36:13] Speaker A: No, there's nothing wrong with Todd father writing king spawn, but I just don't want him to overextend himself. And king spawn was such Sean Lewis's thing. [01:36:20] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:36:20] Speaker E: And it was just totally different. [01:36:24] Speaker D: It was much creepier. The Todfather can do occasionally short bursts. [01:36:29] Speaker E: Of very well controlled creepy. [01:36:32] Speaker D: But the longer he goes, the more. [01:36:34] Speaker E: That whatever crafted tone just kind of turns into regular bombastic Toddfather. And I like my king spawn creepy. Damn it, I do, too. So we'll get there, we'll find out. [01:36:50] Speaker A: We'll discuss it next week. [01:36:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:36:52] Speaker D: Speaking of discussing, you should discuss us. [01:36:54] Speaker E: Everywhere that you discuss comics or podcasts. [01:36:57] Speaker D: You should please do rate us and review us on itunes. I wish you could rate us on. [01:37:02] Speaker E: Spotify, but that's not an option. Subscribe to us where you subscribe. Tell people that you work with people that you know, people that you love, people that you hate. Talk to the people at your comic book store. Like, if you're going up to buy some spawn, be like, hey, guys, this cool podcast that we got, it's called Respawn. And it's a couple of dudes talk about spawn. Get everybody involved. It's a good time. [01:37:27] Speaker F: It's a good time. [01:37:28] Speaker E: There's a guy at work who regularly. [01:37:30] Speaker D: Like, every three weeks asks me how recording is going. [01:37:33] Speaker E: And this man is an MD. [01:37:38] Speaker D: Has been working in science labs for. [01:37:40] Speaker E: Like, 25 to 30 years. [01:37:43] Speaker D: I don't know how old he is. [01:37:45] Speaker E: I haven't asked because I don't care. He's worked in, like, seven different cities. And the fact that he still remembers. [01:37:54] Speaker D: That, oh, hey, that dude does that thing that he likes, and I'm going. [01:37:57] Speaker E: To keep following up on it. [01:37:59] Speaker B: It's heartwarming. [01:38:01] Speaker E: Fucking love him. He's one of the best people to work with. Talk to the people at work. Let them know this thing. If you like it, if you don't like it, maybe don't tell people you don't like it. [01:38:15] Speaker F: Yeah, don't do that. [01:38:16] Speaker E: Don't do that. That would hurt our feelings. [01:38:21] Speaker C: You don't want to do that. [01:38:22] Speaker E: No, don't want to do that. Because let me tell you, ain't nobody could love me like you do. And ain't nobody can hurt me like you do. [01:38:33] Speaker D: Because the ones you love are the. [01:38:34] Speaker E: Ones that hurt you the most, John. [01:38:37] Speaker C: Ain't the truth. [01:38:38] Speaker E: That's how it goes. Sorry to get so real, so real on you here at the end. But that leads me to the next. [01:38:45] Speaker C: Part where all I can say is may the scorch be with you and also with. [01:38:52] Speaker A: You, David. [01:38:52] Speaker D: Hell, yeah. [01:38:54] Speaker A: Hell, yeah. [01:38:55] Speaker C: All right, david, it's really bugging me. [01:38:58] Speaker A: That I can't find this Gunslinger 23. But it's like a completionist. I don't know. I got to find it. [01:39:04] Speaker D: You got to find it? [01:39:08] Speaker A: The toy portal is opening. [01:39:10] Speaker C: Oh, no, Bane. That's right. I stole your gunslinger 23. I've been reading it. It's very good. [01:39:19] Speaker A: Give me that back. Hey. Ask him what he thinks about the biting. [01:39:22] Speaker B: Me? [01:39:22] Speaker E: Ask him what he thinks about the pit. [01:39:24] Speaker C: What do you think about the pit? [01:39:26] Speaker A: Did you like it? [01:39:26] Speaker C: Do you like the pit in the Issue? Does that remind you of your home? How dare you? I was bored in the darkness. [01:39:34] Speaker A: Yeah, roll it up and hit you with it. Get back in that toy pool. Get out of here. Get out of here. Bane. Bane. [01:39:41] Speaker E: Go to the library. [01:39:45] Speaker A: Go to the library. [01:39:46] Speaker C: Get your own copy on Hoopla WA.
